Semi Port Toolkit (A Almost Automated Solution for ROM Porters) - Lenovo A6000/Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Possible Release. I am planning to release a tool called Semi Port Toolkit (for Windows PC's only).
You can follow and even contribute
https://github.com/Nischay-Pro/Semi-Port-Tool
Aim :
To simplify the development process of Porting Roms but assisting in porting. Apply Bug Patches or Custom PORTing options, in-app Build Editing. Basically automate certain tasks.
Targeted Platforms :
Windows (Written in .net 4.5 so no XP Support)
Linux (Possible with Mono 3.6 - Confirmed via Travis CI and Ubuntu Dockers)
Targeted Users :
Basically Developers who Port stuff
Even newbies who want to quickly port a ROM.
Possible Expansion :
Yes, supports multiple ROMS, fixes and even devices.
Infact a user who knows how to fix certain issues in a particular ROM Model (Example CM13 - Sensor Isssue) can quickly generate a small script (There is a tool which allows you to make the fix without even writing a single line of code via a GUI APP)
which then can be given or shared to Developers. A Simple drag drop installs the custom fix script which the developer can integrate.
My question is do you guys want it? Is it worth it? Will you use it?
Support :
I shall support it as long as the developers and the community show interest in the project. I shall also try my best to include more devices but starting of with Lenovo A6000 / Plus -> Since it's my phone

Yup

Yeah, who won't. I would definitely, atleast, try to port a few for our device. But, the big question is, "How successful would this be..??" This wouldn't be a easy task for sure. And, as I expect, there will be a lot of bugs. And by "lot", I mean a "LOT" lot. And, fixing those would be a comparatively tough task.
Also, some of those "geeky-heads" like to do this the old school way. The feel to manually do the porting is a complete different experience and achievement in itself.
But, still I'm definitely gonna give it a try. So, Best of Luck for its future.

I have ported devices but can you share your knowledge of porting devices. Like what files do you generally look for porting.
Bugs will always be a problem. To simplify the process a log is generated and stored. Which is synced with all developers. This is used to find the sweet spot of PORTing the ROM's. For ex : The minimum number of files to have a basic functional PORT. Something like that.

The Beta could be available soon. Right now all it does is port ROM's for Lenovo A6000 Plus. But I still need to make it better. I mean I got a success rate (Without Bootloop) of 60% out of 10 installations. Which is quite good enough.

Now we can port roms for our a6000 ?

wow really nice tools but how about the compatibility for other devices A6000 with 1Gb RAM ? its still can use the same ROM with the A6k+ ?

Remember this tool assists in porting by reducing the number of steps. A bit of manual work is still needed to be done by the porter

It should work. That depends on the Base and Port ROMs.

When will share download link and instructions how to port rom ? and from what phones we can port roms ?

If you are interested in testing it. You may use the compiled sources found in the Debug folder of Github. For now it can port Lenovo A6000 (Plus). It's recommended to port from same chipsets. (Easiest) but it supports porting from rest of the phones also.
Instructions shall be posted soon after a Pre-Beta is released for Closed Beta Testing.

I just need talented PORT'ers to share their methods of porting to newbie PORT'ers.
Also for those people who frequently update their ROMS (Your RR ROM) I provide with a special tool to generate incremental patches for the ROM (Instead of flashing the entire ROM) and also allows you to configure your own methodology of porting.
Lets say you generally copy ABC and DEF Folders from BASE to PORT. You can write a configuration file to automate it in such a way that this tool can read the configuration file and auto port it. Thus repetitive tasks are reduced considerably. If you don't like writing scripts there is a GUI which helps you write the configuration files without you writing a single line of code.

Say hello to Plugins and Tools. Now you can install plugins.

@Kingg01 Hell yeah! Bring it on. You've got some great work man, I'm definitely going to try it. I've ported some ROMs for my Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime which is with the same chipset as A6000 nd most of the things are same. The problem comes with the bugs but this tool might help in that.
Btw I own both phones.

Anyone, please try to ported VIBE UI 3.0 or 3.5 for a6000 ?

Please read this before start asking questions
1.Android is in testing development.
2.Is not working fully.
3.You can't install Android in your phone.
4.You can run Android in your phone with Haret and see how it look but:
5.There are no working wifi, bluetooth, phone calls, battery, usb conection, ac charger connection and many other things....
6.All drivers and kernel are still under construction.
7.Now you know that Android is not working fully in our phone.
8.If you still want help and test build that is OK.
Now to run Android properly in your phone !
1.Download any of the builds we have around here.
2.Do backup on your sdcard or if you have additional one use this one.
3.Extract the file with android in your sdcard.
4. Check all the files are inside (sdcard/Android/AndroidApps"folder", media"folder",root"folder",clrcad"file",rootfs"fil e",startup"file",system"file",zImage"file",initrd" file")
5. If you want you can take everything from Android folder and pest it in root of the sdcard but you have to change default text (set cmdline"rel_path=Android change to set cmdline"rel_path=" or set cmdline"rel_path=sdcard") tri with one if is not working try with the other one. I thing the best is leave all files and folder in default Android folder and just copy this folder to your sdcard.
6.Check your zImage and Startup is for Toshidroid :OP (TG01).
7.First RUN haret without CLRCAD.
8.It take no more than10 min to run for the first time.
9. If it take more time RESTART the phone by pressing the POWER BUTTON for 10/20 sec it will restart and back to windows.
11.Try to do the same one more time.
12.If it still not booting to Android and you receive any error messages. Check your sdcard if there is space left in it. Check error message if it say that it can find some file or it can't create a data.
13. Delete everything from your sdcard and format it to fat32.
14.Start from the beginning.
15. If it still not booting to Android then check if you have all files and all set how it has to be.
16. Don't forget you can broke your phone. And we are not responsible for any damage you cause to your phone.
17.It is all up to you.
19. If I forget something sorry about just ask there are other memebers who will try to help you if they can.
20. Sorry for my English mistakes. I'm trying to fix them. :OP
Thanks to all people who try their best to make that possible: Markinus, Arash18k,Bally3,Endrix,Nyl,Arnookie and all other.

The android screen (1.5 cupcake) on Tosh TG01 was taken from intomobile.com
There is no android for HD2 or Acer F1/s200 (and these phones have bigger community) so I don't think someone here will run android on TG01 until it comes for one of these two mentioned above...
you are right..
however I have googled and found these.

http://xdandroid.southcape.org/
I am not into programing but it might give some head start to who want to make it happpen..
I don't know how to go about porting android to TG01, but I'm looking into it... don't know if it will go anywhere but what the hell, it's worth a try.

Don't know much about Android. But I think Haret is only a bootloader. You still need the Android files to boot.

Yep Haret kills the WinMo kernel to boot another one, i've got the Xperia X10 and Acer Liquid Kernels source code, so i'm going to build them just to see how far it will go and hopefully create a starting point for Android on TG01
Just to keep you updated, i'm not getting anyware for the moment, but i'm not giving up, if anyone has got any info on building a linux kernel for snapdragon please post it
Google Nexus one, acer liquid and many other devices have Snapdragon and Android.
If it's found some info about linux kernel on them, it would be a good starting point, don't you think?
EDIT: I've just google a little and found this:
NEXUS ONE KERNEL POSTED
Cyanogen has developed a web for developing nexus one kernel. So, maybe, you can find something there.
Here you can find a kernel for Nexus One
And here you can find the kernel source for the Acer Liquid

Yep, i've installed the 10.04, and it's pretty cool, on my dell precision m6500, i had a probleme getting the wifi working but other than that it runs like a charm
Has anyone got any idea on how to find the 'RAMADDR' and 'RAMSIZE' for haret ?
these are for HTC diamond witch has 192 mb ram
set RAMSIZE 0x7800000
set RAMADDR 0x10000000
Yeah but it is specific to every phone... so I either somebody already know them, or I need a way to find them..

..............................
.... Nothing here
Emmm, what's the point of this "ROM"??
It doesn't bring anything new.
We all have updated our X8 phones to Eclair 2.1, and modyfied it as we like it.
I guess that 80% of X8 users have rooted their phone, and enabled JiT compiler..
So, this thread doesn't make any sense.
I would recommend that you either help racht develop his ROM, or start building your ROM..
Otherwise, good luck..
Xx xx xxxx xxxxxx....
yup . you are right . this roms have nothing new.
but its good for people that want use official rom . because its official rom with low usage of ram and ... .
and also it has got persian support . for persian people.
and also all of hacks and other things like root JiT and ... to it .
nothing here

It's not an epic fail. This rom is useful. He's put a lot of effort in to this. Even if nothing else this helps people who don't have the ability to do all these mods. Fair enough there might not be anything new but still it has a purpose. Personally I think this is better than the new stock version rom so on that note congratulations are in order

I agree - why nobody said "fail" when propc found a method to put 2.1 rooted to our phones? It's also custom ROM with nothing more but su and Superuser.apk added...
Although I won't use this ROM because I don't need it, it can be very useful for Persian and other RtL languages where this ROM has (as author stated) been "optimized" for such languages...
Besides, what's even purpose of putting effort in making some ROM if then you keep it for yourself and not giving it to anyone? I'm sure that everyone here would like to put some kind of "custom ROM" and happily wait for posts such as "great work/nice"... am I right?
Yea, but back then it was sth new to all of us...
BUt get real guys, there are maybe 2% ppl who needs persian..

this mod is MOST useful for those who speaks persian, and the fact that we have cm floyo or gingerbread ported doesn't change that. we don't speak persian so we may not fully understand the importance
behradgh has put his effort for them, so salute for you
after all, open source is all about building the rom that fits best to us, and customization, not about focusing solely on that one rom and forget that another possibilities exist.
This Rom supports all languages not just persian. the difference is that it is all languages + persian . every body can use it .
tanx for supports dudes :X
why so negative here?
he put a lot of effort in his project and shares it with us. even though i won't use it, i think we should appreciate it and encourage people to create and share roms!

MultiROM ≥v28 ability is now in the image (starting alpha2). New to MultiROM? Read here.
This is a community port of Jolla's Sailfish OS for the Nexus 5.
It features a gesture-based user interface with a unique design and ease-of-use in mind.
For more information about Sailfish OS please head over to sailfishos.org.
This is not an Android ROM, this is a different base of an operating system called Linux, running glibc library.
It only uses parts of Android for hardware enabling (drivers).
Special Thanks to the Nexus 5 porters situ & vgrade, and their helpers: alin, dmt, tbr, iKozzz, MultiROM author Tassadar, Jolla sailors especially jusa, spiiroin, phdeswer, Hannu Mallat, the HADK team, the Mer Project, the Nemo Project and all the fine people over at #sailfishos-porters
Release Notes:
This release is based on Sailfish OS 1.1.9.28
The Nexus 5 port is considered to be of beta quality.
Though depending on your usage it might be stable enough for daily use.
Download & installation instructions:

Bug reports, if internet search refuses to help:
First search XDA for keywords. Things like libsailfishapp have already been worked out by this amazing community
Software-related bugs (Sailfish OS): first search http://together.jolla.com . Tag your questions with "community-build"
Hardware-related problems: at the Nemo Project Bugzilla under Hybris-ing component
Please do not contact Jolla Care or Jolla Developer Care, as this is not the Jolla phone
Known issues:
Android app support is not available (unlike in Jolla phone), but you can already play classic Android games like this. On app side there has been some awesome progress on #sailfishos-porters on irc.freenode.net, status reports being on this XDA Thread
All remaining: In Bugzilla
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.4.0
Tips:
MultiROM users: if your primary ROM is Lollipop based, just install any Sailfish OS version accompanied with CM11 .zip, and you'll have best of both worlds working! Thanks to @julle131 for finding this!

This is really nice, thank you. I do have one question however, since the base is CM 11 M9, would this be compatible with MultiROM?
Edit : Nevermind, downloaded the image and extracted it, it comes with it's own boot image thus answering my question that it does not. Thank you.

You're very welcome, our team is non-the-less excited
Considering your question: Please volunteer to make this work under MultiRom et al. However for now you can always boot to underlying CM by doing "fastboot boot boot.img" or permanently flash it to recovery
very excited to see this coming around the corner!!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Sweet. Another new treasure.
Nice job ~
Always, feels good to try something new...
This is another OS like Firefox OS . :silly:
my phone and my printer can run firmware by same group. Fantastic, d/l now
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
not working for me, am I doing something wrong?
what I did:
1. flashed CM11 M9 then Jolla Image(not working stays on Google Logo, almost waited for 10 min and so then I rebooted phone by pressing power button, still dont work)
then i tried this:
extracted boot.img from cm11 m9 and flashed it via fastboot then flashed flashed jolla image from recovery, still no luck for me...:crying:
Any Help would be appreciated...
EDIT: never mind fixed the issue by flashing via twrp seems like phiz touch was having some issue...
So finally a thread was made in Development.

I do hope the thread doesn't get spammed with useless non-contributive posts like "how to flash this", "x doesn't work" or "my phone is brick" like the Sense 6 port.

During install, or during setting up, there are several roms that ask for su permissions, like roms with lots of features like recents, stuff like that. If you don't give it permission you won't be able to use some features I'm guessing. Grant, always grant

swipe gesture is awesome, but would flash it if apk compatibility fixed xD, thanks sailfish team!
I'm a Jolla user and hope this awesome OS will work fine even in my N5, I've tried the previous build and I'm glad works continue with newer.

[ODIN][TAR][5.0][LEAK] SM-G900P NKD Test Build - Full Restore (Root Details included)

Disclaimer:
This package is for the Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P) only. Your device, your responsibility - not ours.
Do not flash this if you do not know what you are doing or have any doubts/concerns about doing something unofficial.
This is a test build so understand YMMV and any use of this is at your own risk without official support available.
Credits:
Anonymous Sources (for providing and verifying the leak's validity)
@Chainfire (CFAR Prep & Testing Coordination - See post #2)
Rwilco12 (Hosting)
Samsung/Sprint (for hopefully not coming after anyone for this leak!)
This is a test build for the Sprint S5. This will not be the OTA release and may have issues.
Nevertheless... it is Lollipop.
I've tested calls, SMS and other functions and they seem to work.
I have not tested all of the sensors and their functions.
I'm also releasing this as a full restore only so it will wipe data.

Steps to Flash:
1) Place phone in download mode.
2) Open Odin (I tested using 3.04 and 3.07)
3) Extract tar.md5 file and select in PDA slot.
4) Start Flash and wait for process to complete. (You will see 2 reboots in the process)
Additional notes and links provided in Post #2.
Root Information & Other Notes
Rooting Information
Thanks to Chainfire's assistance a CF Auto Root package is available for this build.
You can download it by clicking here.
During testing SuperSU did not pick up that it stuck properly initially.
After KNOX started throwing the warnings it finally settled in. So you may need to play with it to get it to work.
This will likely be the case until an official Lollipop build is released so again, you're warned in advance.
Other Notes:
I cannot stress this enough - these sources took a very significant risk in providing this to the public and helping verify it.
And while we're thankful for it, this is the only 5.0 leak I will post prior to an official release.
Let's not get greedy and let's not get these sources in trouble.

Can someone who flashes this please post links to the SystemUI, framework, twframework, settings, contacts and dialer so that I can use them for my theme?
Thanks in Advance
I like to be on the leading edge, bleeding edge I'm a little leery of. Thank you to everyone involved with this. I cannot wait to hear if everything is working, or what is broke, this community is awesome!
Damn, waiting for G900T
@garwynn Any idea on how to deodex Lollipop apk?
Well Sammobile linked you up, so this is going to catch fire pretty quickly in the news as it'll get regurged by Android Central, AP, etc. I hope that doesn't put any pressure on your sources.
Thanks again. Was on ND4 stock, Used odin 3.09 to load this rom. So far so good. Too much white, though. Still testing stuff.
Is there anything of the new Samsung stuff included like theme choser or flow?
theoretically this version should work on international version also... both P &F have the same specs only diference from what is see is GSM bands...
Can someone upload the notocoloremoji font?

Haven't tested and I'm using my last days with my spare S5 to work on AOSP projects using these blobs.

Let's hope. But this is again why I said I won't support another public leak even if a source provides it. It's in the best interest of all involved.

You could get all the tools to extract these from the system.img even on Windows. simg2img is available in a jar executable, 7-zip and DiskInternals Linux Reader to open/pull the files.

Sadly no, and word via sources is that Samsung is clamping down security. The attention this will attract will probably only tighten that grip.
My guess is the rom would work but you would have no data, modems are different.

There are some other h/w differences as we learned during CM bringup.
The ROM itself could probably run on other variants but would have dialer and a few other issues.
Someone may find a way to bring it to the other devices. Where there's a will, there's a way.

okay, thank you very much,i not mirror the ROM on Google Drive。
Hi,
Everything works fine on this ROM ? What about support for Redmi 3 Pro ? Do you plan to make it compatible with this device ?
Because MIUI is good but some "essential" features such as using only one finger to expand notifications are missing. And is there more available RAM than in MIUI ?
Thank you

If you don't like Chinese, maybe you shouldn't buy a Chinese phone made for the Chinese domestic market and install a Chinese custom ROM on it.

What's the big deal about a few extra chinese apps? Just delete them using TiBu or any other app.

Wait isn't xiaomi.eu an official ROM? You're comparing apples and oranges if so. Right now you're asking for features(or lack thereof) that the developer has absolutely no obligation to oblige. So ask nicely, if he agrees, good, if he doesn't, either learn to live with it or move on. No need for any nasty retorts.
Wut! xiaomi.eu obviously unofficial.
I just requested him to look chinese language to be ommited and didn't find any answer in good way. Some one replied me to prove that I did mistake buying chines manufacturer phone and op supported him without posting a reliable reply wether he's able to do or not.
Don't interact always to irrelevant person or topic on where are you not called to do so.

This is a public forum. This forum was made for interaction. You are, however, right to say that you are irrelevant, especially in this topic since you've already had your reply. In case you can't read into subtleties, the answer to your "request" is no, he will not omit Chinese language. This is understandable because the OP's main language is probably Chinese, and he may lack the translated material required to accede to your request. I am effectively bilingual and would have offered to try help with that. But since you put it so nicely(as you also did in your request to the OP), thanks but no thanks. Stick to xiaomi.eu ROMs or make your own, if you are so capable.
OP as a long time XDA user I apologise for my fellow user's rudeness. He doesn't appear to understand that your efforts are unpaid for and probably a solo effort.
