Redmi Note 3 Pro( Snapdragon) No LTE Connection - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello Guys,
I am not able to run LTE/4g in my redmi note 3 pro. I reset my phone and after that i am not able to run 4g on my phone. I have tried changing connection, selecting LTE from phone info(*#*#4636#*#*) but nothing works. I am in India and running MIUI Global 7.5 Stable | 7.5.3.0 (LHOMIDE) version and my sim card has 4g activated and it is working, i checked it on Lenovo k4 Note and Samsung On 5. I dont know whats wrong but it is very frustrating even 3g connection is not stable and not giving good speed , i have to configure it through the code *#*#4636#*#* . Help me guys please asap.

I have the same problem on my new Redmi.
If I go into the test menu and choose a different set of networks I got 4G once, but when I reboot it gets stuck on 3G. I've got another Redmi Note 3 and that works fine. Can't get LTE at work and I never have issues with other phones and LTE

I was using latest MIUI global beta because it was the only rom I could get the goodix fingerprint sensor working on, but no LTE
Just installed the previous verison of Resurrection Remix and I still get no LTE. On the latest I get no 3G or LTE lol
I just went to the test menu in RR and chose LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) and now I get LTE in RR!
Hmm, rebooted and back to 3G. Went to *#*#4636#*#* menu and chose LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) again but still stuck on 3G

Pls help guys, if did not get the 4g then whats the work of using a 4g phone

No one knows????

I'm guessing we have faulty devices because no one else seems to have this problem. I have no LTE on ANY rom and I've tried a few.

When i do a network search I only get the 2G networks. If i select 3G the signal drops.
It seems i cant enable UMTS. I m always on EDGE / 2g network.
If I use the sim in another mobile it connects normally to 3G/UMTS.
Any help how to enable it on the RAZR?
It was working 2 days ago and suddenly it stopped.
Any idea how to switch between radio bands? from the phone info i can only see USA band and nothing about Europe or other bands?
This is causing my disabled 3G, I cant connect to any 3G network (voice and data).
Help is needed please
Fix the problem? Same thing happens to me yesterday. All the same. I would appreciate help.
Sorry for my English, I am using the google translator from Spanish.
Same problem here. Anyone find a fix?
Yesterday I wrote email to Motorola, I have asked several questions ... but still have not given me solution.
I returned the device to the store after trying everything. I even changed the GSM/SIM operator and the problem wasn't solved, i can only use EDGE/2G, whenever i switch to 3G the signal dies.

For mine, the testing menu is *#*#4636#*#*
No luck yet with what you suggested, but I'm trying different combos of APNs and messing with the testing menu to see if I can get UMTS.

I've fixed my particular issue. I did an upgrade to the iPhone 4S (US AT&T), and am selling the iPhone to pay for my xt910. Apparently, when they did the upgrade, they inadvertently removed my data plan. They fixed the issue and I'm now getting full UMTS on wap.cingular.
Hopefully that will help some of you other guys having the issue. I thought it was the phone itself, but it turned out to be my plan.

Cellular Band Select?

Hi guys,
I used to have a DROID RAZR which I replaced for Christmas with the Galaxy S4.
On the RAZR, there was a Network hidden menu where you could select the Band the phone connected to (ex. LTE, EVDO, CDMA (which was 1x), W-CDMA, etc.)
The shortcut I have for the Network menu doesn't work on the Galaxy S4.
Is there a menu somewhere that does the same thing so I can take the phone down to 3G or 1X for testing?
Thanks!
I too am in the same boat. I am on the latest stock 4.3 MK2 and I used to use the viearo 4g toggle but after I updated every 4g toggle or phone info or system info app on google play does not work. They all error out. Someone out there has to have a version that works...

Just to help you guys out, I was also looking for this and came across this page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303905
After enabling it you type in *#27663368378# to go into service mode
Then it's CDMA > Common > Next Page > Next Page > PREF Mode Set
That should give you the settings you want so you get to disable 4G LTE.
Cheers :]
This seems like the right option. Have not tried yet.
I am unable to find "Samsung Service Mode" in Google Play. Does anyone know of a link to the apk?
---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:48 PM ----------
After reading the entire thread, all those options will not work for a Verizon GS4 running MK2 Stock Firmware. I found Samsung Service mode and also tried Sammy S Mode and it will not work..

Network issues

I have a strange issue with my phone. Everything is working great except that I have to enable "Overseas roaming" to be able to get the network working. The phone obviously thinks it's still in China and not in Sweden. Anyone else seen this?
...
Nope, no problems.
Sent from my Redmi Note 2 using Tapatalk
Same for me. I have to enable it to get any service.
Can you edit the region code in build.prop? Obviously you would need to be rooted. Mine thinks I have a U.S phone in England. So far I haven't had to enable roaming to use data. Not sure why. I did use the app More Locales to create a new language region on my phone though
According to this post at miui.com this could be due to our operator being a so called MVNO, I'm going to try the WSM tools suggested in the post.

One of my SIMs runs on a MVNO and I don't need to enable roaming to use data. No idea why, or if that helps your investigations.
I would love to know how to solve the problem on national roaming. I have had this issue with my previous phones as well. Alcatel one touch flash, mlais m52, and now the redmi note 2.
---------- Post added at 08:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:58 PM ----------
The mismatch comes from your network identifier that is in your simcard as compared to the network that you are connected to. Your country code is the same but since you are on an MVNO, the network provider code is different. Android is fooled to think that you are roaming. For calls and sms, roaming gets enabled automatically. But you need to enable data roaming to get data connection working.
---------- Post added at 08:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:03 PM ----------
The national roaming fix as far as i know does away with comparing the network id between simcard and the connected network. As long as your simcard and the network provider have the same country id, then the roaming flag will not be enabled.
For the fix to work, i believe you need a rooted phone or a custom rom. Sadly, i havent seen that for the redmi note 2.

Help service disabled-sim card gsm yes detect but does not connect to mobile networks

Hello, my name is Facundo.
I bought ebay a lg g3 vs985 phone from korea origin.
At first he detected the networks and connected.
It brings installation a modified kit android kit since here in Argentina there is no verizon.
When plugging the phone to the pc update by means of verizon upgrade, from there never connect to the mobile networks.
I have installed twrp and flsheado several rom without any result.
Now I'm running XDABBEB's VS985 - 3.1.1 with bootstack 35b and Patch CDMA to GSM for Android Global Phones v 4.2.7, the sim card is detected and I can see the networks but it does not register me.
I have tried several sim cards and the results are the same.
Could someone help me?
I remember that the kat kit I brought was a 4.4.2 version I think vs985-11c
Thank you.
are you able to change preferred network type to "GSM only"?

dear I m also having the same problem of sim card, actually i was using stock for long then i divert to Fulmics MM it was perfectly working, I upgraded it to cm based nougat ROMs, it was working though, then i tried Ressurection Remix 7.1.2 nightly vs985, plus some mods i guess, i dont wat went wrong, Ihard reset my cell fone then i lost cellular network, i switched 2 or 3 ROMs i thought RR 7.1.2 is multi featured, but took away my cells feature. since i had tried many ROMs, wiped and Flashed but on every ROM in mobile network settings, three tabs are disabled,
Data Roaming,
Preferred Network Type,
System Select.
currently i m on aicp 7.1.2 12.1-nightly, fortunately it is displaying my carrier name and asking about select sim card, but there is no option to select, i m sure unless i manage to enable mobile network settings, it wont work, thats where problem lies, i dont how could these options be disabled n locked by default, not only any one ROM but i tried 5 of them for nougat. anyways, if some how Any one tell me the trick or procedure how to activate these tabs, no doubt i will be able to activate my sim card.
i m sure some one extremely genius would help me out. i will be grateful and waiting.
I'm having similar issues! I am from the U.S. but was in China for the past month so my mobile data was turned off because I didn't want to pay for service. I came back and suddenly my network is having issues. Often times the R will show up on the notification bar on top of the network signal bars meaning I'm roaming, but I'm in my house in the U.S. I haven't been able to receive SMS and can't connect to Google servers (that's what it says when I try to open the Play Store and when I factory reset my phone). I'm running CM13 (I think?). I'm pretty new to all this stuff and still a scrub.

How to activate VoLTE and VoWIFI on Mi 10 Pro ?

Hi all,
I hope this is the right forum for this question and, if not, I apologise.
I live in Australia. My telephone provider, Boost Mobile, provides VoLTE and VoWIFI capabilities. On my previous Umidigi F1 smartphone I was able to use both, but when I moved the same SIM card on my Mi 10 Pro I couldn't find any settings, although I know the Mi 10 Pro has VoLTE and VoWIFI capabilities.
I cannot see anything where to activate them, no settings. I tried these codes as recommended in some posts on here, but they seem to do nothing. As soon as I press the star and the end of each code, they simply disappear and no message is visualised on the screen, neither any option appears in the SIM settings.
To unlock VoLTE: open your phone app and dial *#*#86583#*#*
To unlock VoWifi: open your phone app and dial *#*#869434#*#*
I have a MIUI global 11.0.4.0 (QJAMIXM)
Do you any suggestion? Thank you in advance!
Cheers,
G.

This phone is new, I have it from a couple of weeks.
I also tried to clear storage and cache for the phone app, but still nothing happens
@fluffy, I installed an app called "MIUI Quick Settings" and I managed to see the settings like in the screenshot you sent me. The parts about VoLTE and VoWifi are greyed out and I cannot change them.

Has anyone been able to successfully activate vowifi with the global Mi 10 Pro?
I can disable WiFi carrier check using *#*#869434#*#* which gave me the " Make calls using WiFi" option in mobile network settings. Although the option is checked, it doesn't seem to be working using a Telstra SIM (which has WiFi calling perfectly with an iPhone 8) .
Dialling *#*#4636#*#* reveals that WiFi calling provisioned is still disabled and greyed out.
Any ideas?

Me too, i can't see volte icon too, never seen, instead it works with my operator on every other phone i have
i know this is an old thread but wanted to say thanks, i have a mi 10 ultra and im on Telstra (Australian Network) using the 2 codes in the OP both came up with a quick popup after entering saying "disabled volte/wifi carrier check" and now in the sim options both the volte and vowifi options show up and when enabling them the vowifi icon shows in the top so thanks!! (i chose to prefer wifi network over mobile networks in the vowifi options) EMUI version in screenshot.
When I use the codes in the OP I also get voWIFI and voLTE in the status bar and they work, but I lose caller ID so I cant see whos calling me.
I m in the UK on Virgin, I moved from Vodafone a few days ago to Virgin, on Vodafone both voWIFI and voLTE worked, but I didnt get the voWIFI and voLTE signs in the status bar, I also got caller ID.
The weird thing is that Virgin is a MVNO that now uses Vodafones network.
WIFI calling, video calling and voLTE are still greyed out in MUI settings even though I can now get them, all very strange.
I think you are all misunderstanding the technology.
There is a few dependencies. Signal availability, Signal strength and MOST importantly the other caller MUST be the same and on the the same network provider.
Now, I can't speak for other countries mainly because I don't live there, but here in the UK VOLTE will be either "4G" or "4G+" where the signal bars are displayed. By now the majority of the UK will be "4G" which technically IS VOLTE because the technology is a data carrier with a voice protocol strapped to it. This is why the provider must be the same for BOTH callers or it will fallback to 3g for the call for BOTH callers.
4G+ is LTE-A (LTE ADVANCED) is a dual band version of 4G which will attempt to use one band for keeping data alive and the other band for VOLTE. Again, this is dependent on the same factors as 4G with the same fallback rules.
5G is technically 'the standardisation' of all providers so the signal doesn't fall back.
I am in the UK. Stock Mi10 5G on a Giffgaff (O2) simcard. I can get all of them.
I think you have missed the point I was making - the same phone on Vodafone voLTE and voWIFI works, but I change to an MVNO that uses the same Vodafone network, I use the same phone, but suddenly neither works. There is clearly something on the carrier side that they do to enable or disable registering IMS, my previous Le Max 2 was voLTE and voWIFI compatible yet I could never get it to work on Vodafone even after having a massive dispute with them about it, I concluded then that there is somehting their end stopping it from working, my expereience above seems to confirm this. Quite why they designed voLTE and WIFI like this I dont know - they should just work just as 2G and 3G calling do.
I have never heard that the caller must also be on the same network, that does not sound right to me and indeed when was on Vodafone I could call non Vodafone users and still get voLTE.
Because Vodafone aren't obliged to share their full network with other providers like vermin media. Although you think they are one in the same they aren't. Vermin rent from Vodafone so it is a sub system. Why would Vodafone give anyone else Admin over their network?
Regardless of whether you think you have full 4g at both ends if the other caller doesn't for whatever reason you get the best that they can do and nothing more. There is no upscaling. That's why you need to both be on the same network/provider.
