Cellular Band Select? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi guys,
I used to have a DROID RAZR which I replaced for Christmas with the Galaxy S4.
On the RAZR, there was a Network hidden menu where you could select the Band the phone connected to (ex. LTE, EVDO, CDMA (which was 1x), W-CDMA, etc.)
The shortcut I have for the Network menu doesn't work on the Galaxy S4.
Is there a menu somewhere that does the same thing so I can take the phone down to 3G or 1X for testing?
Thanks!

I too am in the same boat. I am on the latest stock 4.3 MK2 and I used to use the viearo 4g toggle but after I updated every 4g toggle or phone info or system info app on google play does not work. They all error out. Someone out there has to have a version that works...

Just to help you guys out, I was also looking for this and came across this page.

After enabling it you type in *#27663368378# to go into service mode
Then it's CDMA > Common > Next Page > Next Page > PREF Mode Set
That should give you the settings you want so you get to disable 4G LTE.
Cheers :]

This seems like the right option. Have not tried yet.

I am unable to find "Samsung Service Mode" in Google Play. Does anyone know of a link to the apk?

After reading the entire thread, all those options will not work for a Verizon GS4 running MK2 Stock Firmware. I found Samsung Service mode and also tried Sammy S Mode and it will not work..

When i do a network search I only get the 2G networks. If i select 3G the signal drops.
It seems i cant enable UMTS. I m always on EDGE / 2g network.
If I use the sim in another mobile it connects normally to 3G/UMTS.
Any help how to enable it on the RAZR?
It was working 2 days ago and suddenly it stopped.
Any idea how to switch between radio bands? from the phone info i can only see USA band and nothing about Europe or other bands?
This is causing my disabled 3G, I cant connect to any 3G network (voice and data).
Help is needed please
Fix the problem? Same thing happens to me yesterday. All the same. I would appreciate help.
Sorry for my English, I am using the google translator from Spanish.
Same problem here. Anyone find a fix?
Yesterday I wrote email to Motorola, I have asked several questions ... but still have not given me solution.
I returned the device to the store after trying everything. I even changed the GSM/SIM operator and the problem wasn't solved, i can only use EDGE/2G, whenever i switch to 3G the signal dies.

For mine, the testing menu is *#*#4636#*#*
No luck yet with what you suggested, but I'm trying different combos of APNs and messing with the testing menu to see if I can get UMTS.

I've fixed my particular issue. I did an upgrade to the iPhone 4S (US AT&T), and am selling the iPhone to pay for my xt910. Apparently, when they did the upgrade, they inadvertently removed my data plan. They fixed the issue and I'm now getting full UMTS on wap.cingular.
Hopefully that will help some of you other guys having the issue. I thought it was the phone itself, but it turned out to be my plan.

[Q] Simple mobile Data/MMS settings for HTC Radar 4G?

Simple mobile is a reseller of t-mobile so the phone doesnt need to be unlocked to make incoming and outgoing calls or even text messages but to access the internet and mms features the settings need to be changed.
I would like to know if anyone has the correct MMS/DATA configuration.
Mysimplemobile.com does not have the settings in their programming list, nor have i found any forums through google as pertaining to my request. If you guys could help me out it would be very much appreciated.
-thank you in advance
HTC HD7 – Internet only
Press the right arrow
Select settings
Select cellular
Select edit apn
Enter the following settings:
APN: simple
User name:blank
Password:blank
Press the check mark Your internet is configured!
This is only for internet. But once you're in there, go into the market and get HTC Connection setup and select simple mobile. It will finish the settings for you and you'll have internet and MMS.

That's odd. That normally worked for me. Did you try giving them a call?
I use Simple Mobile too. Just download HTC Connection app from the HTC app section in the Marketplace over WiFi. Run the app with your SIM inside the phone. It will auto select USA T-Mobile. Tap the menu (...), select Manual and scroll up to select simple mobile.
You'll be all set.

That's how I got mine too work. I only seem to be getting EDGE speeds though, are you getting 3g speeds? My speed tests are showing 130-160kb/s. I've only tested at my house so far, maybe I'll try around town.

Just click the HTC Apps option when you enter the market. It's in the list that pops up.

thats because Simple runs on T-Mobile. unforunately, you have to manually select it each time you swap your sim card.

I hate to bring back an old thread, but I'm having some trouble with my unlocked radar 4g on simple mobile. I used the htc connection setup app and selected simple mobile, but it keeps switching back to t-mobile. Internet works and I can send mms, but I can't receive mms. Any ideas?

A big problem with putting any windows on a mvno is that your mms settings will be limited I'd there at all
I got it working. The connection setup app seems to default to tmobile, but the simple mobile settings are working.

Help with 800-850mhz frequency

I messed around with the 0001.prl and it was adviced with it to change the mode using some code in the dialer like *#*#89983## something im not sure, well i messed it up. I get x service under sprint and only 1X roaming. I need help on restoring the settings I changed.
The 00001 PRL shouldn't be used anymore as Sprint is canceling people's service because of it. There are several threads in the general section that should be able to help you update to the latest PRLs though.

My prl is not the problem..im on 24006 now, i need to restore my regular service.
The more information you can post about what you did or which guide you followed the easier it will be to help you, but from what you've said so far it sounds like you changed the preferred network.
If so you should be able to fix it by dialing *#*#4636#*#* -> Select 'Phone Information' -> 'Set prefered network type:' to CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto

i cant even remember what it was, and the thread I got it from Im pretty sure was deleted.
You messed up the auto frequency. I did it before and there is a way to fix it but I do not remember how.
You can try ##SCRTN#
That resets and reconfigures all network related settings. You'll just need to know your MSL.
---------- Post added at 05:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 PM ----------
Not to be confused with ##RTN# which hard resets a phone.
---------- Post added at 05:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:34 PM ----------
By the way, sprints policy is to repair a rooted phone just as if it were not rooted. If any employee ever tries to argue about that tell them to check their methods and procedures.

Help with Unlocked T-Mobile S5

OK, I cannot find this information anywhere so maybe someone here can help me.
My wife bought a Galaxy S5 and we had quickly paid it off. Because we only get 2G where we live , we decided to switch to Straight Talk.
After a week of Straight Talk not working correctly (we would have Full LTE service but could not make or recieve calls) we then ported to Cricket AIO.
We are having the same issue and don't know where to start. I wiped out the factory image and installed a debloated Rom thinking removing some
T-Mo junk would help but it doesn't. Everything is correct, APN settings and all. Can somebody shed some light and let me know what to try next?
Thanks
Try *#2263# from the dialer and select GSM networks instead of automatic.
Let us know how it goes.
I am currently using a t-mobile galaxy s5 on cricket without any problems.
Using the stock rom (rooted) I have a cricket SIM card in the device. I booted up the device, went to settings, then more networks, then mobile networks, then default setup and chose automatical. Then, I chose the automatic network option. You could always use the search now option and manually select AT&T.
Next I added the APN. The cricket website has them available so you can manually add them, but I actually had a little icon pop up that let me install them automatically.
Either way, correct APN is essential for texts and LTE.
I then downloaded titanium backup and manually removed t-mobile bloatware. I then downloaded the cricket apps that were recommended (cricket sent a text with the apps when I inserted the cricket SIM)
Finally, I edited the build.prop to say the device is a cricket galaxy s5. I think I changed it to model klteaio.
Other than the boot animation (which I could change if desired) this device is now identical to my Cricket galaxy S5 that I also own. It even says cricket on the top bar like the Cricket branded device. As a matter of fact, the back cover and the startup animation are the only way I can tell the difference between the two.

You may want to consider using an app called LTE discovery from the app store to ensure you have lte as an option. I have found that selecting the WCDMA/GSM option instead of the default LTE/WCDMA/GSM under settings-> MOBILE NETWORKS -> NETWORK MODE sometimes provides better service on cricket when the LTE signal is poor. This will turn off LTE, but leave 3G, 2G, talk services enabled.
Good luck.
Zero Lemon was the issue.
After a bunch of testing, I figured out that the zerolemon 8,500mah battery seemed to cause the issue. When we put the original battery back in, calls worked just fine. I tried again with the zerolemon and calls failed.
Thanks for reporting back. I wonder if your extended battery pushes too much load on your device.
If you happen to pop-in the lemon again, put this code in your dialer and let us know what Voltage reads your getting.
Also mention the battery's charge level at the time.

Redmi Note 3 Pro( Snapdragon) No LTE Connection

Hello Guys,
I am not able to run LTE/4g in my redmi note 3 pro. I reset my phone and after that i am not able to run 4g on my phone. I have tried changing connection, selecting LTE from phone info(*#*#4636#*#*) but nothing works. I am in India and running MIUI Global 7.5 Stable | 7.5.3.0 (LHOMIDE) version and my sim card has 4g activated and it is working, i checked it on Lenovo k4 Note and Samsung On 5. I dont know whats wrong but it is very frustrating even 3g connection is not stable and not giving good speed , i have to configure it through the code *#*#4636#*#* . Help me guys please asap.
I have the same problem on my new Redmi.
If I go into the test menu and choose a different set of networks I got 4G once, but when I reboot it gets stuck on 3G. I've got another Redmi Note 3 and that works fine. Can't get LTE at work and I never have issues with other phones and LTE
---------- Post added at 09:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ----------
I was using latest MIUI global beta because it was the only rom I could get the goodix fingerprint sensor working on, but no LTE
Just installed the previous verison of Resurrection Remix and I still get no LTE. On the latest I get no 3G or LTE lol
I just went to the test menu in RR and chose LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) and now I get LTE in RR!
Hmm, rebooted and back to 3G. Went to *#*#4636#*#* menu and chose LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) again but still stuck on 3G
Pls help guys, if did not get the 4g then whats the work of using a 4g phone
No one knows????
I'm guessing we have faulty devices because no one else seems to have this problem. I have no LTE on ANY rom and I've tried a few.
