Official Color Shells for Moto G4 Plus - Moto G4 Plus Accessories

Hi. Does anyone know where to buy the original back color shells for Moto G4 Plus in the USA? They are not even on Motorola's accesory site. Thanks.

I saw this on eBay: A+ Rear Battery Back Door Case Cover For Motorola Moto G4/G4 Plus XT1644 XT1622

I bought one from this vendor and it doesn't fit quite right. It's slightly too long. If you put a bumper case on it, removing the case pulls the back off. I'm still looking for real ones.

https://m.ebay.in/itm/262553130945?...D4686-223281-2357-24%26rvr_id%3D1077597962280

I understand this is not "color". I just received this, shipped from China and I cannot tell the difference of the black shell from the real ones that my kids have on their Moto G4s. Even the markings on the inside are pretty much identical and it fits perfectly. I purchased the white G4 Plus and wanted a black cover for a change.

Only $7 but only in black and white.
cheers

Keep in mind that any supplemental back covers or protective cases will negatively affect the cooling of the phone internals. Battery life gets shorter, and even some components might fail.

We are replacing a battery cover with the same design, same material and same thickness. How will that negatively affect cooling?

Sometimes they are not the same.

well, that is certainly not the same as writing "any supplemental back covers or protective cases", which I consider misinformation

Actually for sure any SUPPLEMENTAL back covers and protective cases are leading to overheating. It doesn't apply to an OE replacement cover, it was just a generic information.

You want to split hair I'm there with you. If it's the same material, design and thickness for the back cover it does not matter whether it's OEM or other - over and out

Purchased another one from ebay (China). Took a little over two weeks for shipping. The cover feels a little thinner than the black and white originals I have but it fits the phone nicely. It has the same texture as the OEM covers. Unlike the black one I described on the previous page, this one does not spell out OEM in the ebay description.

Thank you for sharing this info! Nice to know that it fits well, despite not being a 100% copy of the original.
I was looking for OEM shells, but they are impossible to find. Especially in Europe. Quite strange, hence the fact that usually revenue on OEM accessories is off the charts! Seems that Lenovo is missing an opportunity here

interesting. with ePacket shipping ($9.34) it's cheaper to get this to the US from Switzerland than from within the US ($11.87)

To be fair you are pricing the 'custom' cover from Witrigs to the OEM cover at DYI. The OEM covers at Witrigs are two dollars more.
So they are still cheaper, but less than 50cent.
From what I can tell, the chances are high that the customer covers are of high quality, as the inside color matches their outside color.

Anyone have this case?

I'm looking for a cheap thin case that covers the corners and is also slightly raised above the screen, in case I drop it face first the screen will not touch the ground.
I am not even seeing a brand name for this case, but it's cheap, so thinking about getting it.

I have this one I think. Again with no brand name. But I can say that it is a perfectly adequate case for using it on your desk/table however it has a loose fit which when you try to put it in your pocket it wants to come off. Given the price I can't really complain.
thats why they are they have the word cheap in their name lol
$4.00 for the case $5.95 for first class shipping weird

Thanks that helps. I don't want one that is going to try and come off. I found some other cheap ones on Amazon.
I bought a couple from Amazon from the company BoxWave, they're pretty high quality and fit well, have raised edges and come in a few different colors.
http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Samsu...3M2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329855698&sr=8-1
Couple of questions on the Boxwave unit...
Any chance it will work with a cradle type charging unit? If so, which cradle is recommended?
I am looking at the Hyperion unit and it looks like it might actually work.
I cannot post links yet, but Amazon and "Hyperion galaxy note" should get the job done.
Next question is rather odd...I want to be able to set my phone in a cradle in landscape so the connector will not work (obviously). So is there a cradle that will allow the Boxwave unit to remain in place, AND hold the Note in landscape? I do not care about charging in this configuration, as I will just run a cable to my USB port on my PC or charger.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Co-sign...I bought this case and I was surprised at the quality. I'm waiting for an Otterbox or something similar, but this case is a perfect fit for the Note and it looks very nice.
I'm not sure about docking capabilities, but it's very easy to take on and off.

Fit very well and took about a week.
Rob
I definitely suggest TPU cases. You can get them every bit as cheap, provide similar protection, and will slide in and out of your pocket when you want it to, and will stay there when you don't. Also, due to the snug fit, I have found they allow much less dirt to get inside the case compared to silicone cases, stuf keeping your device scratch free.
I remember that I had a silicone case for my first iPod, a 30gb video, and I was highly disappointed when dust and dirt had scratched the back of my device. Silicone cases don't do much except make your phone grippy. they may defend well against drops, but TPU is just as good and doesn't allow your device to get nearly as dirty/scratched.
Ignore this post.

Just Ordered the Blackout case from Boxwave, looks like it will suffice for now.
Is it thinner than a speck case? I got the Spigen Spg that I like very much but it doesn't protect the front I want a lightweight case.

Clear case?

Has anyone come across a clear case similar to a Spigen Ultra Hybrid, or a Ringke Fusion, I have searched every site imaginable and cant find one. Its weird that Spigen would make one for the Nexus 5 which is basically a non textured rubberized back but not one for the Note 3 which has that pleather back to it.

Time to get a white permanent marker :highfive:
BTW if you buy a replacement cover from eBay (i got mine because I wanted to shave it down a little so the QI pad wouldn't buldge.. for about 11 bucks?)
it's slightly thinner than the OEM one. Feels & looks exactly the same though. I bought it from a seller named "playebuy8". I can't vouch for any other seller but i'm quite happy w/ mine

With the back on it fits snug. With it off you can tell the difference but it doesn't feel like it moves. I shook it to see if the battery would come loose but it didn't. The camera sticks out a little further than the case.

I kinda wish they had a transparent housing now, so you can see all the internals and not just the battery/microSD
that back panel IS just plastic. it should not be too hard to "hack it up" with a dremel leaving all the important bits in place.
are there replacement back panels available yet ? I won't do it to mine but I would do it to a replacement I do NOT like how the camera sticks out.
I wish UAG would make a clear version of their case for the Note III (they do for icrap) they we could use the nice replacement battery covers you can get on ebay.

lol... I paid a little more for mine!
It is well done though. My *only* complaint is that I wish the access to the back buttons was a tad wider and beveled.
I do like the fact that they put a divider between the button array and the camera lens. I'm much less likely to miss and smudge it now.
lol at adding the word "Auto Focus" as if this makes it OEM or something.
Not a whole lot of bulk but really solid.
Only $3? That sounds too good to be true. Did your package come with a spigen card that allows you to verify the authenticity? Or is it a knock off from China?

Im just chuffed by the build quality for such a cheap product, but im just glad to finally have the lg g3 nice and covered especially round the bevels, thats where my old phone got most the damage when i dropped it.
Im also using this as well, its made for the note 3 but the extra size is quite nice. Manual labour job so i need all the protection i can get!

Oh, I totally agree with you!
Recently, I bought the Spigen case~ I'm satisfied with their slim profile and protection.
Spigen products usually come with a small card like this. It has a serial number on it.

"AUTHENTICATE THE PRODUCT"
Of course if you actually had a case you would know that.
This is actually a fantastic deal and the only reason why its discounted is because it has a hole cut out for the antenna for the Korean version of the g3
I ended up buying several colors so all I gotta change the hard shell to switch up colors.
great find OP
I've bought Spigen knock offs from Aliexpress and while decent cases, they offer no where near the fit and finish of the genuine Spigens. For the money, they are a good buy though. Expect 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Will the hard shell fit over an original Spigen silicone inner layer?
I bought one from Aliexpress for my old S4 Mini, and not even being original, has a very good quality. Can be used with no problems. I'm buying now another one for my G3.
I've bought a couple of theese for my Galaxy S4 and now my G3. The quality varies. I've noticed that if the debossed Spigen Logo on the back is laser sharp, then it's a good knock-off, probably made in the same fabric after hours, and no post production made afterwards. I.e some edges are left from the making of the rubber and plastic case with can feel sharp and so on.
I got a few bad knock offs for my Galaxy S4 where it looked like they had applied the color afterwards, making the logo debossing edges soft, and not laser sharp. If you want good quality, buy the ones that says retail packaging, they cost a little more, but def worth it.
But as always, if you like the product, buy the original. I bought a few originals for my S4 since I was so satisfied with the knock-offs.

Yes. They yellow like a mof*. And they add a lot of bulk. The design for the fusion case Ringke had in the pre-Nexus 5 era was awesome, pretty much the same as the Orzly fusion cases. The new designs look really dirty after a few months.
I had one of these for the pixel XL and it was great the dust flaps are new ordered from Amazon just now.
I bought ringke cases in the past for my S5 and iphone 6 and they are built well and works with glass screen protectors. Just ordered this case and tempered screen protector.
Mine arrived today and I have to say i'm not impressed....the dust cap for the charging port always sticks out it doesn't actually stay in the port which is what it's for and always sticks out :/ it's very very annoying

Interesting, I always wondered about those caps. They were actually a turn off for me as I like quick access, I also thought it would be an S5 type of scenario where they just fell off over time!

Same problem with the one I received yesterday as well. It's too bad because otherwise, it's an excellent case. The Ringke case I used to have for my Nexus 6 had the same type of cover, but it stayed closed.

I think they need to enlarge the nubs that fit into the charging port, although they'd probably get complaints about that too because it would be difficult to open. The Nexus 6 case required a bit of effort to open that cap. I'll email their customer service later and see if they respond. Otherwise, I'll just clip it off.

Think i'll do the same from the amazon page see what they say
Sent it and the pictures, I cba going through amazon for a refund on it but I will if they dont respond with a decent answer. tbh I was thinking of a flip case anyway due to lack of decent screen protectors.
Any news? I have the same issue...
I'm happy with this case despite its two defects:
- it's not "smoke black", but in daylight it seems a "smoke blu navy" (I've the smoke black for OPO, OP2 and OP3 and they're really black)
- the dust cap is too hard, and after the first use it can't more stand locked in the usb port.
For the rest, it is as expected:
Correct holes, compatible with the tempered glass of OnePlus, not too bulky.
I think I keep it, and as I have always done for my previous oneplus, I've customized it with a couple of drawings.

(If anyone wants to start a new thread on customizing this cover, it's free to use my files.)
I got my replacement today they sent it from the US for some odd reason but this one connects to the charging port fine and works as it should.
Shame I got the official OP5 flip case and am using that instead but meh

Looking for original Ocean Blue back cover

I'm looking for original back cover, Ocean Blue version. Already ordered two pieces from Ali (cheap ones) but blue is not "blue" and both overall feels weird in hand. Glass is not even close to stock one in terms of used material.
So if someone bought one or is sure that it's going to be orginal, please post some links, thanks!

I bought this one a while ago because I broke the back cover, it's identical to the original (and I think it IS an original one):

It's definitely fake. There are missing logos in the back panel in both the links posted here.

The logos (CE) are only present on the global version. All fake ones seem to have protection sticker the foil the same size as the cover, the real ones with QR code inside have the foil with a little extra tab on the top part of the cover. If it's really really real.. Not sure, but worth a try

No, it's the exact same print as i had previously.
And yes there was a QR Code inside
I received mine today ( Explorer version). It seems to be the real deal:
-It comes with much more protection film than the fake ones
-It includes the same barcode on the inside as the real ones (not present on the fake ones)
-The adhesive color is the same as the original one (light grey)
-It includes adhesive for the camera
-It has a better fit
-It has a much better shine
I love mine

I also ordered from Chrisgia link, at least in these one you can see some kind of reflection and photo looks real.

About QR code I'm not 100% sure because stock/original cover from black version had small sticker with QR, not "dot" printing, like you posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80102727&postcount=31
So all I have left is hope that blue going to be also as good as you described yours.

First look after package arriving and sadly I think it's fake.
Cheap blue version with some sort of reflection but it's definitely not "ocean" blue.
Photo coming soon...

Well at least mine (Lavender one) doesn't look cheap at all. I compared it with the original side to side and they looked exactly the same.
Sorry for you
I have ordered from witrigs an OEM rear camera glass replacement, since i dropped the phone and cracked it, not sure if 100% OEM but there is back cover too w ww.witrigs. com/oem-battery-cover-for-xiaomi-mi-9-blue anyone has ever ordered by witrigs?
It's not that bad as I was thinking after quick first look.
So... aura effect is visible, adhesive tape that is already attached is great and it's also around camera cutout. Glass quality and feeling is much better than previous.
Is it original? No, I don't think so.
Aura/holo effect isn't as good and reflective as original. QR code is missing. "Mi" logo was fully covered by black tape, maybe they were afraid that someone would see it.
Overall it's better than two of my previous ali orders and it's worth that extra $$$.
At this point I'm going to end my journey around Ali "original" covers.
Thanks for links and help
