Maybe Buying a couple of questions. - Fossil Q Founder

I am thinking about get the Q Founder. I have a few question.
1. Can you use any QI wireless charger to charge it?
2. Is the band easy to change like on the Moto 360 2nd gen and Huawei quick release?
3. What size band would I need to replace the one that comes with it?
Thanks!

Hi falcon26,
I have had one of these for a few months, so let me jump in;
1. Yes, this conforms to the normal QI standard. I have bought a generic version of the Moto 360 charger from amazon as with the metal band the one included can be a bit of a pain, but moreso for travelling it is small and neat to throw in a bag and does a good job.
2. The band (at least on the stainless steal version) is quick release, no tools required (not true for sizing of it however), and is the usual 22mm width. Please see the picture below.
3. 22mm, see above.
Cheers,
Andrew

Docking station

Anyone buy a docking station/cradle for their HD (like me)?
A friend of mine (DaveShaw) found this in another forum...

Gutted...
I've got two of these docks (still waiting for an off. HTC dock).

Kokkie, can you recommend your cradle ? It seems that an official dock will never be released so I'm searching the market, just like a a lot of other people according to this forum.
Your cradle looks nice to me because of the simple silver look, I think the black deluxe cradles are too bombastic. But I haven't seen any other references to this model.
Anybody else using this ?
Sorry for the long bump from a noob, but I thought I'd share the ones I bought for my HD.
I bought these 3 from 4u-mobi.com:
Along with some pretty good screen protectors. They sell all kinds of accessories for HTC. The whole range for the HD is here:
http://www.4u-mobi.com/onlineshop/online_shop_list.php?ssid=330
They came from Hong-Kong it turns out but arrived quickly and the delivery was fairly cheap. I'm in the UK and these came with Euro plugs, but you'd have to ask them if they slel US-plugged versions.
Cheers,
Matt

Windshield mount that actually fits the T-Mobile TP2?

I purchased the usual ebay model, but it doesn't completely clip into my T-Mobile TP2. It's holding in their strong, but I just don't trust it.
That is very interesting news. Do we really need another thread though?
Edit: Still not closed so here are two suggestions.
1) Try this tread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580898
2) Check my sig. Hint- click on the blue letters

Well, it's not on all car mounts, it's actually one for the T-Mobile version. The design is difference (doesn't have tapered edges), so I'm pretty convinced that the one I bought doesn't snap in because it's designed for the alternative models. I believe the Tilt2 is designed like the alternative models.

Tilt 2 - notice the tapered edges
Oohhhhhhh, my bad. That's a completely different thing altogether. Maybe this link is a better answer for you, http://tinyurl.com/ya47bp4.

It would be except for my mount was found using Google. Clearly mounts made for the alternative model are being sold as T-Mobile compatible when they really aren't.

Is this a speaker?

Has anyone noticed a 'hole' under the mic?

It seems to me like a possible speaker grill. Since Huawei Watch have it (currently disabled), I think it is possible that Moto 360 v2 can have it as well. If it is true the next Android Wear update may be very interesting for us.
Nope. That's a microphone and a lip for removing the back..
Yes, but original Moto 360 did not have this lip:
I did a quick google search for a teardown of the 360 (2015). Plenty of teardowns of the original but couldn't find one for the new generation. Interesting.
You can get a fingernail in between case and the back, right where that lip is. I have no desire to take the back off, but if you lift just a little you can see there's nothing underneath there.
Did anyone ever get this answered? I'm in between this and the Huawei Watch. I really want to go with the Moto but with the new speaker support for Android wear, Huawei might be the way to go.
IT DOESN'T HAVE A SPEAKER! Nobody found ever a speaker in a teardown (while both the Huawei and the Zenwatch speaker were found that way) and its not on the list of supported watches. You guys got to live with that fact.

Thanks for answering this. Much appreciated.

Ebay Moto 360 2nd Gen . Looks like i got a Pre Production version?

Ordered this watch of Ebay and noticed the logo's on the bottom where the ambient sensor is. thought that was odd. Looked at the firmware version and completely different. The back of the watch is cracked and i thought i could get it warrantied but Motorola is telling me they can't find the serial number and therefore cannot help. Any suggestions of what i can do. Or if anyone knows if i can flash to stock firmware somehow since this one will not upgrade.
Thanks!

What if this isn't even Moto360, but just some fake random watch? Can you drop us a link?
I already have the watch. Works great. Its a moto 360 100%. Google the smelt firmware and Smelt was the codename they used before release.

So you updated it and its fine? This logo on ambient sensor doesn't looks legit to me...how can there even be something, since its "black end"..
It will not update to newer version because its a non official moto 360 firmware(there is no newer version to update to) .
Here is preproduction of the 1st gen (notice the logo at the bottom)

Replacing band help

Hi, I have a black 42mm moto 360 2nd generation. I bought some 20mm watch pins off ebay but they are not quick release ones. I also bought a pebble steel black metal band to go with the watch. Does this mean that I have to use a spring bar tool when removing non-quick release pins?

Will the pins show up/be visible on this band?
Yes and yes

How would I insert & remove it with a spring bar tool ? I don't want to end up scratching the watch. Is it possible to buy quick release pins?

It is possible to use the spring bar tool, it will just take some steady hands and a little patience. I was able to get this band installed with the spring bar tool...
I have the silver case and was able to swap the bands with no scratches or dings to the case...
I'm sure there are quick release pins available, but the band I use doesn't allow for their use. I'd bet a quick Amazon search will turn up a few...
