Youtube 1080p 60FPS Playback - AT&T LG G5 Questions & Answers

Anyone here having issues with 1080p 60FPS playback with this phone. I have had this phone for about a week now, everything is up to date as far as updates go and i cannot seem to play Any 60FPS videos off youtube app and instead only allows me to select up to 480. If the video is only a 1080p 30fps it will play just fine. No 60 FPS stuff will seem to work or show up as a selection.

Okay so I seemed to have fixed this on my own after countless tries...
The method that seemed to work for me was this...
MOST IMPORTANTLY DO NOT OPEN YOUTUBE APP AT ALL THROUGH THIS PROCESS!
1: uninstall youtube app updates.
2: clear app data and cache
3: reboot phone
4: clear app data and cache again
5: open play store and update youtube app
6: open app and you should now have 60 FPS option on 60FPS videos
Hopefully this helps someone. I seen a couple other threads on this but no answer on fixing or if others where still experiencing this issue.

is there a way of having youtube play in high quality all the time instead of
wifi - high quality
HSDPA - low quality
I can always select high quality manually in the MORE section. But it should be possible to set this as default? Even my Touch HD could do this
Maybe it is just a 0 or a 1 in some system setting...?
On a somewhat unrelated topic... Does anyone know of a way to make the Youtube app the default player for youtube videos? I mean, when I go to youtube in my browser, the videos open in the HTC Flash Player, but I'd prefer the Youtube app opened instead. Any ideas?

[Q] Since facebook v. 1.6.1, youtube videos launch in browser?

Anyone else experiencing this ever since the 1.6.1 facebook update? I still see it with 1.6.2.
Prior to 1.6.1 youtube video links would always prompt which video player/browser you wanted to play the video until you set one as the default. I would select the youtube app and set it as default. Whenever I selected a youtube video link it would just start playing. I no longer see that prompt. I uninstalled/reinstalled facebook, cleared the data/cache on youtube...nothing.
edit: went to applications->manage applications->browser and selected clear defaults. now when I launch a video from fb I get a prompt...except youtube is not an option.
after clearing defaults, uninstall fb, reinstall fb...got youtube listed in the complete action list, set it as default, video launched in youtube. exited, tried the same video again and got a complete action prompt...youtube is not listed in the complete action prompt.
edit2: seems like a fb 1.6.1/1.6.2 issue. When I select Videos in the news feed, no youtube video links appear. Seems like the fb app does not recognize the youtube links as videos, only as a traditional link. As a result the youtube app is not listed in the complete action list. I could be wrong .
edit3: ok, if anyone cares, lol....at the 'main' facebook app screen, the one with the news feed, profile, etc icons and a set of posted pics/videos near the bottom, if I select a video there, it brings up the person's post sharing the youtube video and when I select it the video launches through the youtube app. every time. Again, only when I select the video in a news feed does it never launch through the youtube app or list the youtube app in the complete action list.
Very minor drawback with the video not just playing right away, just wondering if anyone else is getting this behavior.

[Q] YouTube app sometimes switches from 720p to 480p and is there a 1080p option

Hello everyone,
I'm starting to get annoyed of the fact that YouTube sometimes switches from the 720p to 480p resolution. I only find one trick that helps:
1. Set YouTube app to 144p and load the video
2. Switch back to 720p and swipe the video away
3. Load the video again
But it's very annoying to use this every time I open YouTube, so is there a way to solve this?
The second question about the YouTube app is about the 1080p resolution. I have the latest version, but I'm not able to see a 1080p option. I have a note 10.1 2012 edition (1280*720 I think) but it says it's HD ready and a Samsung galaxy s4. I saw some modded version of YouTube on xda, but it's outdated. Is there a way to achieve this resolution on one of my devices?

youtube error

Hey all. Anybody having this youtube issue? When i play a video, it says there was a problem while playing. Touch to retry. Yet the video foes play in thr background. It must be a youtube thing.
YouTube is working fine for me. See what happens when you clear data and cache for YouTube only.

Cannot record 4k outside of default app

Hey, I've tried various apps and discovered that every time I select 4k video record in an app outside of the default, it always comes out 1920X. Is there anything I can do? Will rooting the video fix this?
