[Request] Best rom in terms of battery life and performance - G2 General

Hello,
I need rom suggestion(in terms of battery life and performance). I have used Cloudy G2 3.3 with dorimanx. It is a good rom, but sometimes the phone freeze. I also used RESURRECTION REMIX M but this rom has some bugs.
Best regards,
Uri

Deperate ROM now is the best ... you won't regret

It has issue of fast charging .. it shows slow charging while i am connected to 2a charger..

Is just a cosmetic bug, it shows the text "Slow Charging" but charges normally.

You using this rom in your dilay life? Can you tell a bit about is pros and cons?

sound quality and camera in all CM roms are bad
i like using edited stock roms and desperate rom is the best rom now i did try all roms
desperate rom also is the future of LG G2
battery life is great - camera u have two amazing cameras - too many editing - fast like wind - ui5 and ui4 interfaces - blurring effects - full screen caller photo and recording calls automatically if you want - etc.......

I'm using it as my daily rom on my main and only device.
I'm using the latest release with gapps, customized the gapps installation to remove some apps i don't use.
The battery life is a lot better than stock, it's fast (no hiccups).
I don't think the sound is bad, at least with earphones and during calls, the phone rings louder but it distorts a bit.
The camera is worse in low light, if you take photos with good light you won't notice much difference imho.
Take a look at this picture taken this monday with snap (http://i.imgur.com/yMpKMuF.jpg).
I have two issues that i don't know yet if they are related to CM13 or my account:
- Gmail labels are grey after setup. I have to change a label colour, go to all mail to fix it.
- My Android doesn't show in Android device manager.
So i recommend it.

Correct, just seems to be a cosmetic bug. Even though it says it would be charging slowly on the CM13 lock screen, it actually seems to be charging just as fast as with the stock Lollipop ROM.

Wrong. The battery life on CM13 is worse compared to stock Lollipop.
With stock Lollipop the battery drained almost nothing on standby, with CM13 the battery is draining on standby.
Also, with stock Lollipop the phone never became warm during light usage. With CM13 the phone is getting noticeably warm even during light usage.

Can you tell me which kernel support g2 f320 lolipop 5.0.1 or 6.0 MM. Thank
I am using rom NDM 2.5 , this rom i get antutu 49000, great, blissrom 6.4 have poin too. It so fast

I have one question in regards to CM13.
I used it for like a day and it's blazing fast in general use but in games like Asphalt 8 (I just use it as a "benchmark") it stutters and it seems that 3d performance is worse. I later found out that you can set the phone in performance mode which fixes stutters but then all my cores are at 100% and I don't wanna melt the phone and battery.
So is this common with you guys as well? And is there some sort of a fix? Switching to performance mode and back is kinda annoying.

CM13 also lacks video modes like 4K,60fps and 120 fps slow-mo recording.

I am using CandySix 6.0.1 + Kernel from DU

Great rom, but only issue is high temperature (light and heavy use). Dont know if others users experience the same. I looking for another rom too. Not to many choices since i have a f320k (korean version). Most roms are 4 d800/1/2/3/4/5. Sucks!!!!

Best cm based rom?

I know that it's best to try them myself but I really don't have time to test all.. I'm wondering which cm based rom has great performance with comparable battery life to stock. I think stock Roms are a bit too laggy with quite a lot of microstutters. And it hangs time to time as well. Cm Roms I tried a while ago are Bliss pop and Resurrection but they both have too short battery lives. But I loved that they were so smooth.
Any recommendation?
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks! Did you do any modification like xposed tweak to make the battery good or greenify or it is just good out of the box? I'm going to try the rom probably today but want to know what setup you have.

Its really good for a cm based ROM. I also used greenish standard version. Mother than crDroid i strongly encourage you to try hybridROM. Its not CM based but it rocks.

Is that smooth and have long battery life too? My main concern is standby time as I'm a light user. Also I really want a smooth rom cause I got spoiled by ios.. Lol cause I go back and forth between iPhone and Xperia ZU. thanks so much for helping.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
Very smooth , I think smoother than any CM based that I have tried and i have tried almost every ROM lol.
Another option is ZHyperROM. Its stock based and heavily debloated so its light , ultra smooth and with amazing battery life. You can also flash zombie kernel in it which is amazing and you will be OK. Thats my current setup in my Ultra and i am completely satisfied. So i think you should try these 3 options and find the most appropriate for you.

Ah. okay I actually tried ZHyperROM and it was not bad, but once I installed Zombie kernel, i saw a lot of micro stutters, so I don't know what happened there. Maybe I changed the kernel setting wrong, but I couldn't know which. So I tried XistenZ which is what I'm running, and it's smoother than ZHyperROM + Zombie, but it still lags time to time. I keep seeing random stutter when unlocking the phone with animation, and other lags too.
But I remember a while ago that when I tried BlissPop and Resurrection, it was crazy smooth, and I guessed because it's cm based, so I liked the speed, but the standby battery time was terrible. So I asked originally is there cm based rom that has good battery life.
I will try crDroid of HybridAOSP (this you mean the Z3 port, right). Hopefully I find the rom that is for me.
I advise you to change the three options regarding animations in the developer options from 1x to 0.5x. Try it in your current setup.
1x gives stuttering at least for me and many ROMS (particularly the stock based have 1x by default.

I tried that but i felt that it was still not as smooth as I would like, so I took the jump and installed Hybrid rom (Z3 port) and it seems pretty good! Also in this rom I changed to 0.5x for all three, and it's really nice. It seems like apps load quicker in this rom than stock roms I tried in the past few days, not just animations. I haven't tested battery life though, but hopefully it lives up to expectation!
Thanks for your help.

Me too.
You use 5.0.2 or 5.1.1
Since you are trying all types of ROMs, try GPE port by scrubber. I got 5 and a half hour screen on time. With auto sync and data turned on all the time. Now I'm on Xperium 5.1.1. I always had stuttering on CM based ROMS. I'm surprised to see you say that it's very smooth. Can you try Resurrection remix and bliss pop and let me know how the performance is. Play some games like subway surfer and see if you have any frame drops.

I used to try all types of Roms but now it's school term and I can't test Roms much. I did try scrubber and it's battery life was pretty good but standby wasn't as good as stock with stamina. Maybe cause I didn't bother with greenify, power nap, etc.
Bliss pop and Resurrection were super smooth and fast for me in terms of UI animations. And they were just always responsive. I don't play games, so maybe that's a different story? Hmm.. But yea battery life was terrible even with greenify power nap and amplify.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
BTW, just to update, I'm on Hybrid Rom as I said, and after setting up Greenify and PowerNap (after installing Xposed), the standby time is outstanding. When I check the battery usage graph, the standby time shows literally flat horizontal line.
Performance is definitely better than stock based roms. Stock based roms had occasional lock screen animation lag after waking up from sleep (even 3rd party lock screen apps), and the phone was hanging time to time with more stutters. This Hybrid Rom does also have a bit of stutters here and there, but it's so much better with no hanging or freezing yet.

Best rom & kernel

I need the best combo of rom and kernel ! recently got back into the android game after having an s3 and then switching to a 6s plus now I'm back, with the oneplus two
I need help on choosing the rom and kernel, would prefer for the rom to be stable and the kernel to give me great battery life
right now I'm on aospa 6.0.1 it's alright
I was so excited to get back into roms and android that I didn't even last 3 hours on oxygenOS
OOS3 is actually pretty decent. Especially if you get a ROM that is a modified version of OOS like Oxydium. Exodus is also another good choice for speed, battery, and reliability. So far though, in my experience, it's pretty hard to go wrong with any of the ROMs available for the OP2 though. CM based ROMs have seemed to not get quite as good battery as OOS based or Exodus for me, but they have more features of course. Good luck on your search!
Official cm13 with boeffla kernel is my default setup. But using aospa and resurrection remix (benschold kernel) once in a while )
Waiting to see more features in aospa

Latest
6h / 7h is achievable
Mostly i have 2 days of standby with 4,5 / 5h sot
Last couple of days I'm thinking about switching from OOS3 based back to CM13 or AOSP or PA. So I'm going through threads and I'm kinda shocked to see how most of them are now plagued by bugs which seem to have nothing to do with our devs, but it seems like they are getting that from sources, CyanogenMod mostly. Also, I don't remember any problems from couple of weeks (months?) ago! Like no notifications (dead silent phone), alert slider not working, echo in conversations, problems with camera, heavy on battery... before I had excellent battery life, notification and slider worked better than in OOS3, ROM was better with each version... any thoughts on that?

Can easily confirm, Resurrection Remix has given me much better battery life than OOS3 with my usage. Constant 5h SOT on LTE, 6+ on WiFi
CM13 Unofficial by Seraph08 + Boeffla Kernel works pretty well for me. I get a Standby time of almost 30 hours and SOT of over 4 hours. I used to barely manage 3 hours SOT earlier with OOS3.

I have been wondering the exact same thing.. I flashed PA June and it's been o.k. but has some issue with speaker / mic that weren't present in other MM rom's I've tried..
I went to Exodus. Feels great, works great, but with Trebuchet launcher as AOSP is very limited. I could recommend it easily

you have to do it using "kernel Auditor" app and your phone has to be rooted! in my vase i flashed Santhosh's CM13, GApps & SuperSU Zip to easily root my phone!

Also does not support the kernel denominator or radon (installed but I could pass through the lock screen).

Well yes, setting powersaving CPU governor is an option, but for me it resulted in many laggs (I'm a heavy user).
Btw. this 100% happens often. But it only applies to 100% charge, after that it will drop normally.

Hey everyone! Which ROM you are using on your le max 2 for daily usage and why?
Latest AOSIP. Why: Oreo, everything works like a charm, it's fast and has a decent battery life (3-4hrs SOT, AccuBattery says the current battery capacity is 2750mAh)
Latest LineageOS, because it's simply most stable
EUI stock...'til now, marvelous
I have tried several roms and my favorite so far is AOSiP, its stable, fast and battery-friendly, although sometimes the animations don't feel smooth at all, but not really a problem for me
and also the boot animation is sick

The only difference - they keep adding their own bugs, not existing in Lineage.

I've been using AEX 0417 build for awhile now as it's quite stable, battery friendly, relatively bug free - as a matter of fact, I've not noticed any - and has a number of features I like. I've also checked out Dirty Unicorns 12.X and MSM Extended, both of which are very good, but weren't as battery friendly - this may have changed with the newest builds, though... ?

Stability: BaikalOS, Pixel Experience
Powersave: BaikalOS

Wow thanks. Does BaikalOS have the app cloning feature? How good is the battery life compared to MIUI 10?
best kernels
Sphinx and Franco kernel
Best roms
Lineage and stock
Stock is of course the most stable, but the beta builds always have bugs they always remove settings add settings fix something break something.

It doesn't have the app cloning and battery life is a lot better if you manage the background apps strictly but you still have to install it and test it yourself.

There is no best rom or best kernel, it all comes down to personal preference...
Lineage Pie with Franco kernel.
..and go with pixel experience only if u r into very stock version which I think is overrated given its customization limitations.
I have always hated chinese ROMs or apps, take MIUI for example they have like hundreds of apps injected into core system (miui security, miui contacts, miui dialer, miui messaging, miui this that and what not...)

Do you know if Lineage OS has the signal issue fixed on it? I only really moved away from it because of that. Im on crDroid and my signal is much better now

Hi fellow Flip! Yeah I went with Ambasidii rom based on stock MIUI since I need the cloned app feature for ROM (Slave priest). It's rooted and has derp kernel. Battery life is quite a lot better. I was redownloading all my apps overnight and it only drained about 7% of battery life which is 1% more than full stock on idle without WiFi.
By the way, do you do a battery recalibration once you switch roms? Standby time is fantastic on mine but it seems to drain a little harder while playing ROM compared to stock.

There's no need to recalibrated when switching roms. Recommended calibrating your battery ( each month or every three months )
android phones this days use lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-po) batteries for Poco F1 . This batteries don’t need to be fully discharged, and come with smart chips that make calibration unnecessary and that's the good thing for us.
Just want to share this method , i do this all the time after switching custom roms.
First, drain your phone’s battery completely. Don’t charge it at any point while it’s draining. Let the phone keep working till it shuts itself off. Once the phone has shut itself off, restart it so it shuts off again. Even though the battery was at 0 percent, it has a few reserves left. Now, while the phone is off, charge it to 100 percent. It’s safe to use quick chargers for this, but make sure you hit 100 percent. Once it’s fully charged, unplug it and boot your phone. Android might not say it’s at 100 percent, and that’s okay. In that case, plug the charger again and let it get to 100 percent. then unplug it. This cycle of full drain and recharging lets the chip calibrate its readings with the battery’s charge cycle.
hope that helps:good:

What signal issue exactly? I'm trying Lineage at the moment and using Derp Kernel.
