Intro
This is a straight port of Resurrection Remix to Note 8.0.
It is based on Marshmallow 6.0.1_r74 and nightlies of Cyanogenmod 13 and Resurrection Remix from 24th December.
I have been using RR on my S4 for the last 8 months. After recently rooting my n5110 and using CM13 for a couple of weeks, I started to miss some RR features and wondered what it would take to get running on Note 8.0.
As it turns out, not very much at all.

FAQ's and Tips
FAQs
Q. The install button does not work when I want to install an app?
A. Stop / disable the application running that uses a screen overlay (e.g. Halo).
Q. How to stop Halo?
A. To stop Halo double tap it and drag it to X icon (it's actually click - let go - click - drag).
Q. I get a dialog that says "Screen overlay detected". How can I disable this warning?
A. Go to Settings > Security > Scroll down and disable permission overlay check.
Q. What version of Xposed works?
A. This version works fine.
Q. Can I use an alternate kernel?
A. Boeffla kernel works just fine with RR.
Use Flashify to install kernels.
Q. Does OTA work?
A. Not ever on marshmallow now I'm afraid.
Q. Developer options in camera?
A. Tap max brightness 10 times.
Q. I applied a theme and system UI crashed. Now I can't see anything but a background when I boot?
A. Some themes are very prone to causing this. If this happens then boot into recovery and delete the /data/app/theme_name and data/data/theme_name folders then you will boot normally.
<themes are working a lot better from release 7 onwards>
Q. Can I use SuperSU for root instead of Privacy Guard?
A. I can be done but you will need to research how to flash SuperSU in "systemless root" mode.
Q. I would like louder / better quality sound.
A. I use and recommend the latest mod by A.R.I.S.E. - Deutronomy from here
Tips
- RR is a very feature laden rom. Don't go mad and switch everything on when you first boot. Concentrate on a feature and see how you like it.
Blur for example can take a lot of tuning to look right.
- Installing Banks Gapps did not go well, use the smallest Open Gapps you can get away with (recommended Pico).
- Most issues / caveats for CM13 will apply to this rom!
- Enable Adaway and update your hosts file. Remember to switch Adaway back on after a dirty flash!
- If something does not run go into Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard and check settings.
Also check the mode you have set for SElinux. Some functionality may be wrongly disabled in "Enforcing" which will work in "Permissive".
- Long boot times on 2nd and subsequent boots? Go into Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard > Advanced > Bootup and disable startup on apps that don't need started on every boot.
- Corrupt memory cards can especially cause problems. Recommended to use SD cards as external storage with Fat32.
- Occasionally you get an error about a corrupt SD card when booting up (especially after flashing / re-installing backups in TWRP?).
DO NOT PANIC! Don't immediately reformat! Try a switch off and reboot to see if it still occurs. If so, take the card to a PC and backup before you do ANYTHING.
Re-format on PC, put back into switched off phone and power on. When in OS, format when it asks you (isn't a re-format - just sets up android basic folders).
Then eject, back to PC and restore your backed up files. PHEW!
- Not recommended to use titanium to re-instate backed-up apps and settings across different roms (i.e. coming from anything else).
- Don't use Halo on 5.7.3 until you read up how to disable if needed. Halo was fine back in the day but I don't think it's needed with Marshmallow anymore.
- To enable built in root go to developer options and activate Root Access.
- Using Kodi (SPMC) you will need to disable hardware acceleration in video settings, otherwise audio with black screen. <better from release 7 onwards>
- Apps I have installed don't appear in the "Apps with usage access list" and aren't able to access usage stats. An acknowledged RR bug currently. Do following for any app that needs usage access - using terminal emulator, type :
Code:
su
appops set package_name android:get_usage_stats allow
Replace "package_name" with the package name of your app (e.g. com.teslacoilsw.launcher for nova)

From what I recall you don't need to flash SuperSU, just install latest from play market.

As far as I know this is the first RR port to Note 8.0.
It may be fairly straight forward but I don't have the space for a whole new branch / time to do any more builds / desire to run anything older than MM (lack of security updates on LP).
This is probably where you would start (old way):
https://github.com/akhilnarang/platform_manifest/blob/lollipop5.1/README.mkdn

If RR is based on CM13, and the GPS works on RR, would it be possible to identify the change made by RR to CM13 in order to make the GPS workable on CM13? I realize it is not your problem, but it would possibly be helpful for us CM13 users who have been desperate to have GPS. I may switch to RR, but not being able to just restore apps+data from TiBU after the switch would make that a significant PIA. I'll keep watching and considering...

I have not tried yet RR, but I have restored apps+data with Titanium lots of times, from different roms and also different devices (from phone to tablet and so on), without any issue. I wouldn't bother so much. Of course you need to know what you are doing (don't restore system apps or cloud syncing apps etc.).

I just wanted to thank you for giving is another choice on the old but very good tablet. This is exactly what this tablet needed. I am getting ready to try it out now but I had to thank you on behalf of all the note 8 owners. This is awesome.

Awesome rom man. Thanks!
Had a question about updating the radio, more specifically how to do this?(I tried TWRP and that does not even list the file; tried using heimdall but don't know the command to flash it). Thanks again

I didn't even realise n5110 had GPS.. LOL. I just restored my last CM13 nightly nandroid (18th August) and found that although GPS test showed 6 satellites it did not get a fix. Gmaps however correctly showed and updated location and heading. I then went back to the latest nightly of RR (newer than released) and it shows location but heading doesn't work... I have downloaded latest nightly of CM13 to compare when I get time.
But from my limited testing it would seem that CM13 has/had the better GPS.

I have used it many times in the past too, I did try to use it a couple of weeks back and some apps were un-stable when restored.
As always your mileage may vary...

I'm sure that I used Odin (the file being a .tar.md5 suggests that).
Renaming it to a tar shows it contains 2 files - sboot.bin and tz.img
- can you flash them from heimdall separately? or with flashify on phone??

Gmaps gets location from wifi APs when GPS is not available, so Gmaps having a location doesn't indicate anything unless the location prefs do not allow wifi location (not the default). Any computer/tablet/phone using GPS and Google location services will report the APs for that location, so any device that later reports the same APs can be located without GPS working or even existing in the device.
Heading is another thing entirely. There is a magnetic sensor in most smartphones (including N5110) which can measure magnetic heading directly, and combined with location can look up and apply variation to get true heading. Sometimes when a magnetic sensor is unavailable the GPS-derived Course Over Ground (COG) is used as a surrogate for heading. If you use the GPS Status app, touch the screen and then the 3 bars that appear in the upper left corner, and select Diagnose Sensors to see what is in your device. Also, the magnetic and orientation sensors require calibration which can be done from the same menu; otherwise their readings can be very far off.

cheers for the info, helps a lot in my understanding. I did switch off the wifi and blutooth scanning but crucially the info would have been cached before I switched them off.
I have calibrated the heading and that seems to be working now on RR.
Clean install testing with no wifi setup will be the only way to see what is really going on.

OK Greg I did a clean install of both using same latest code. No gapps or play services, only GPS status and Gmaps installed. I disabled wifi as soon as I could, verified location scanning was off (both default off). I then ran GPS status and it got a location after around a minute. If did not get a fix however. Then I tried Gmaps and it seemed to get a location though without wifi I couldn't tell. Then I added my wifi AP and Gmapps loaded the satellite imagery and proved to be working and showing correct location.
Both CM13 and RR seemed to act the same to me. Is this different from your testing (and is this even a valid test?).
Buff

First, glad the calibration got the heading working. The calibration routines should really be in the ROM's settings, as without them the results are often garbage. Barring that it might be a good idea to include GPS Status with the ROM, or at least have some alert to remind users to calibrate the sensors. I have no knowledge of whether there are other apps that can do the job, or better still some FOSS that could be incorporated.
It sounds like the GPS is broken in RR as well. The way to test is not to turn off the wifi; go to settings/location (pull down menu) and select "device only" (which means GPS only). Tonight's (0830) CM13 is still broken - I guess RR will work once CM13 gets there. In any event this doesn't look like an alternative for my purposes. BTW I have read that the Boeffla kernel does make it work, but haven't tested it myself.

Greg, for these tests I was using "device only"; I was only turning off wifi before going into location as I didn't want anything pulled in before I had a chance to change anything necessary..
I do use boeffla on my normal day-to-day install, though for these tests I've been using stock kernel. Boeffla is easy to install - use the flashify app and it does the hard work for you.
I assume you are running on the latest baseband (dnk4 for n5110)?

FAQ
Gapps is causing the error "Unfortunately Setup Wizard Has Stopped".
Have you read the Install Instructions? Flash gapps immediately after the ROM. That means do not reboot to system after flashing the rom and then go to recovery again and flash gapps.
How do I install this ROM with Dualboot Patcher?
Follow these instructions carefully.
1. Install DualBoot patcher apk, open the app and go to ROMs section.
2. Set the current running kernel as kernel for Primary ROM (The app will ask you to do so)
3. Download CM13 and go to "Patch zip file" section.
4. Patch the ROM (for OnePlus 2 choose "Data Slot"). (ID: insert anything like cm13. It doesn't matter though)
a) Primary ROM upgrade (You can patch zip for Primary ROM if you want to flash primary and don't destroy second system.
b) Secondary (Not usable due to small System partition)
c) Multislot1, 2 , 3 - (Not usable because /cache partition is too small).
d) Data slot - Use this!
e) Extsd slot - (Not usable)
5. Flash patched ROM with TWRP.
6. Reboot
You second system should start.
How to switch between ROMs:
1. Both ROMs need DualBoot patcher installed, in "ROMs" section you should see ROMs list.
2. To switch the ROM simply go to TWRP.
3. Click Install.
4. Click Image option (Bottom Right Corner)
5. Go to /sdcard/Multiboot/<your rom name>
6. Select boot.img
7. Click boot partition.
8. Flash and reboot.
9. Other ROM will start!
Login with Google does not work in some apps.
Sometimes, on a fresh wipe, the phone language will be set to an invalid language. Changing it to a valid one from Settings should fix the issue.
Battery Statistics shows that Wi-Fi is always on even though I've turned it off.
If you are using "scanning always available" in Advanced Wi-Fi Settings, then Wi-Fi will always be on to scan for available network to aid location discovery.
How do I enable root?
Root is now disabled by default in CM. To enable root, first enable developer options. Then enable it in Settings -> Developer Options -> Root access.
Can you include Feature X into your ROM?
No. This ROM will have CyanogenMod's feature set.
Can you include Cyanogen OS's apps?
No. Cyanogen OS's proprietary apps are not a part of the open-source CyanogenMod. You can, however, download C-Apps directly from Cyngyn and install it.
Can you include call recording?
No. The open-source version of CyanogenMod does not include call recording to avoid potential legal issues.
What kernel does this ROM use?
A slightly modified version of the stock kernel, the source code is linked above.
Can I use your ROM as a base?
http://source.android.com/source/licenses.html
Most of Android/CyanogenMod is licensed under the Apache License with other small parts licensed under other open-source licenses. Which means that you may modify and redistribute without asking for permission as long as the proper credits is given and it is not misappropriated as being the official CyanogenMod. (In other words, you must say that it is based on regalstreak's unofficial CyanogenMod, but is not related to CyanogenMod in any other way. Also, please mention the credits that have been mentioned in OP as they have worked too hard to get this ROM too.)
Can contacts be saved to phone/SIM?
No. It is not supported in AOSP-based ROMs.
Can I send files over Wi-Fi Direct?
Yes, but you must use third-party applications. The implementation provided on Samsung ROMs is not an open standard. AOSP/CM does not provide a native way to send files over Wi-Fi Direct.
Can I mirror your ROM?
You're free to. But if you ask me to mention your mirror here, I don't know if i will do so.
Will feature X from a previous version of CM be implemented?
I don't know, probably will be, eventually. I don't really involve myself in the feature-set side of CM.
How do you type so much?
Actually I didn't type this as a whole. I took inspiration from @pawitp's threads that I used to refer earlier

Please stop asking questions that are clearly answered in the first post, I've seen plenty of people like you piss off DEVS and then they stop development.

Some minor features I've added apart from RR:
- I have disabled Forced Encryption so if you're running a stock kernel and you flash my rom, it won't force encryption. Additionally, you're given the option to encrypt your device and decrypt it as you please (RR may have already adopted this change)
- Injected with some speed/performance enhancements from my original "Adrenaline" series and improved battery life
- Removed unnecessary decreased sound delays due to notifications
- Enabled some disabled VoLTE settings and support
- Audio Enhancements
- Launcher Enhancements
- Lightened the rom up a bit for more wiggle room and smoothness
- All of my Neofied sound files from my previous rom series (Adrenaline, NeoMax, Injection, Infection, Tachyon, Tron, X, (??)?? ??? and others)
- My custom "Adrenaline Neo" Boot animation
Installation Instructions
- I recommend users of this rom to be on the latest firmware and Hboot for the 7.1.2 Nougat Platform.
- Additionally, you need to be on at least TWRP if you intend to flash this rom.
- If you are not on the latest recovery or firmwre and have a rom complaint, I will not address it.
Flashing Procedure is as follows:
1. Compare the md5 sum of your download.
-Windows: MD5 Calculator
-LINUX: Open Terminal and type: md5sum [path to the rom zip]
-Mac: Open a terminal and type: md5 [path to the rom zip]
2. Reboot to Recovery
3. Scroll down and select "Wipe"
4. Do a "Swipe Wipe" (I prefer a Full advanced Wipe of cache, dalvik, system, and data)
5. Install Rom Zip
6. Flash Gapps
7. Wipe cache/dalvik
8. Reboot and enjoy!
DO NOT Mirror the Roms provided here, Quote my entire OP, or use this rom as a base for your own Rom (Build it Yourself!).
Thanks.

Notes
- I do not use this device as my daily driver so there may be issues that I don't know about. If so, mention me and provide me with the info in the bug reports section below.
- I will not be modifying the RR source much. I have picked a few things (notated below) but this will be about it. Feel free to request features but I am going to be hesitant about forking a bunch of repos to make that happen as it is a lot of work for me. Use Neo's ROM if you want a more tuned and custom experience
- Please follow this README (specifically about not bothering the developers about issues related to my builds).
- I will build when I am able to, ETAs are not allowed.

Dirty flash: Used when coming from a previous version of RR (keeps data intact)
1. Download the ROM from above plus a custom kernel if you so desire.
2. Backup any important data to your internal storage or computer.
3. Boot into TWRP, make a backup (highly recommended), and wipe cache and dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM (along with the kernel if you choose).
5. Reboot and enjoy!
Bug reports
If you are having issues with any of my builds, I require the following information before I am able to help you:
1. Logcat (Use Google or one of the apps from the Play Store if you have issues with this).
2. Version and GApps used.
3. A clean flash on the latest version of TWRP with no additional mods (Xposed or custom kernel).
4. Does the issue occur without a theme?
5. Screenshot/screenrecord.
Help me help you
Thanks
@Neo for the great idea for a community thread
@andrewwright @varund7726 and the rest of the RR team for the ROM
@NYCHitman1 for the vendor blobs
@REV3NT3CH for the amazing kernel
@BeansTown106 for being the inspiration to actually start building AOSP and helping me along the way
@Mazda for helping through all of the issues that came along the way
These builds are modified to my liking. I have killed junk packages and replaced them with better prebuilts. It comes with Snapbrowser, Adaway, KA-MOD (has it's own dashboard shortcut). These builds are ROOTLESS!! You need to flash root. I have added a SuperSU dashboard shortcut for those of you who use it. Substratum also comes baked into the ROM. I've changed some of the stock icons. I use 2 dashboard columns by default. Commits for blinking LED are in both ROM and my last kernel build. I use a different APN source so they aren't all junked up and a 100 useless ones.
NEO is back!
@apophis9283 @nathanchance and any other who build, let me know if you'd like a space here to provide you work and I will give you a post nearest to the OP.
To everyone else: Welcome to the community thread! Here you can experiment builds by other unofficial builders and talk about whatever. OT is accepted in this thread, and there are no stupid questions.
Remember, if you were looking for the Official Releases of Resurrection remix, head to the thread listed HERE
If you have a rom issue, make sure you list who's you are running or this will get confusing real quick
Enjoy.
Neo
nice.. will try out your build...
Sure I'll take a post and throw up a build before I go to bed!
EDIT: @Neo, just move the below post up :good:
So far @Neo RR build is running smooth keep up the good work
Awesome job NEO. Keep it up. Im just glad the guy who taught me everything is flexing his brain muscle again
@Neo

Glad to see this thread @Neo . I ran your ROM on the M8 and it was amazing. Mixing that with RR, can't wait to see what's to come.

PLEASE NOTE: Since CM14 is still in the nightlies phase, there may be some bugs that come up. If you come across any, report them to me and/or @phoval. A logcat that captures what was going on when the error occurred will be greatly appreciated! Also, let us know what you were doing when the bug occurred, so we can recreate it. As such, I have changed the project status to BETA. Of you want a stable release, I still have 5.7.4 up on the AFH servers; grab it at https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312978532265361428.
Also, I ask that you please keep in mind that I'll maintain this ROM as I can find the available time. I have a full-time job and a family and am also finishing college, so those are my top priorities. PLEASE do not ask for ETAs.

So...after digging through the source code some more this evening, I found the code is in there to disable the buttons and turn off their lights, even confirmed it on my Droid Turbo. For some reason, though, it isn't showing in the menu on this device. Will do some digging, but it appears the solution may be easier than I was thinking.
Thank you brooooooo
@rnwalker, fantastic job. ROM is running buttery smooth without any hiccups. Only minor thing I noticed is it appears to have old school SuperUser (Privacy Guard) vice SuperSU. However, that is no big deal as it works, just a teeny bit annoying. LOL. If your time permits should we anticipate a BlackTheme? Again, just a super job and thanks a million for sharing. Really appreciate your work on this ROM. :good:
New version released, with the hardware button enable/disable fixed. Please see the original post for the new download link. Enjoy!

Eventually I'll add the Blackout theme I'm currently running, probably when I get around to SuperSU. Stay tuned! But for now you can download the theme from the Play Store... It's called 2nd PitchBlack (Dark Red) by TeamBlackOut and apply it in the Themes app.

@rnwalker, I downloaded 2nd PitchBlack theme and it definitely met what I was looking for. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Also, downloaded update to ROM and working great.
Hi, Can I check if this will work on the Samsung SM-T325 / Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 LTE?

I am also running the blackedout theme. Really great!!! Sometimes contrast is a little difficult. Also running the same config on my lg g4. Downloading t320 update from you as we speak. It is working great only thing consuming power is still google services. After flushing cache etc. It is preventing some doze time.

Thanks for doing this, it does fill a need that I'm not able to test since I don't have an SM-T325. However, since it is different hardware than the SM-T320, please start a new thread to avoid confusion. Thanks!
Running this ROM since mwalker7 revived it (because I love RR), but it feels like battery drain is huge. Overnight it loses about 20% and even during the day it keeps losing about 1-2% an hour battery and I hardly use it! Anybody got the same?? But the ROM is awesome! Thanx!

Just got a couple of questions... Can you post a screenshot of your battery stats? And did you enable Doze? It's not enabled by default. Not trying to discount your experience, just trying to troubleshoot. Thanks!

-- You have to be on a firmware that has the new partition layout(merged partitions). If you are on kitkat, use the nubia updater tool to update your phone to lollipop.

2. Flash my recovery, and backup your files.
Warning: The next step with completely wipe your /data partitition, including the internal storage files. Take a backup first.
3. Go to Wipe menu, check /data and press advanced wipe, change file system and use f2fs. Do the same for /cache. This will not be needed again when updating to my new releases.
4. Copy the files(rom, gapps) to your phone's internal storage or sd card.
5. Wipe cache,dalvik,system,data.

A Few Words
After getting my z7 max pretty good and stable, it was time to give z7 mini a little love . This rom is made possible mostly by the work of ultimatum163(which in turn forked his sources from PaoloW8) from the 4pda forums and most credits go to him.

Thanks! Checking it now...so far so good (didn't noticed too many differences between this and mokee)
Hi, Is the dual sim and 4G working fine in this rom? Can we also have some screenshots?
Dual sim works fine. Not yet tested 4g (I'm always almost connected to Wi-Fi)

Hi, Can you please check it when possible?
4G, 3G have an exclamation point next to them. I have tried to set different preferred network types with no result.
Apn settings are correct. I also toggled off wi-fi, flight mode on and then off and then mobile data on.
Sadly nothing works!
3G works fine here... I could see a glimpse of Lte a couple of times but the signal was too weak. Today I should be able to check 4g

Could you send a screenshot of your settings to compare?
I had mobile data (Cosmote Greece) with the previous rom (Cuoco92 5.1.1 v3.88 3.1).
---------- Post added at 11:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 AM ----------
Well that's odd. I switched the sim card to slot 2 and 4G works.
I just use the defaults.

New release in mega folder, a bug that has long plagued marshmallow roms on z7 mini should now be gone.
Which bug was that?
Running the latest and so far no issues (apart boot stuck after having optimised the apps)

Ok that's why I never found this problem... I never used these apps

Great rom ! Thanks!
Some apps light notification doesn't work . Except its no other complain for 4 days.
A report of the offending apps as well as a logcat would be a huge help in resolving the bug. How's your antutu scores?

Antutu 3d 52220 As I remember , tested on LightX 3.83 - 45000 but I'm not sure it was antutu 3 d.
Notification : light+sound + status bar are working on missed call + messages only . For all other apps are working : bar notifications ( if set) + sound. It's not an annoying matter , I'm glad that other bugs are gone . Bugs as : start camera when phone are in pocket - and battery is drained ; random reboot phone when into pocket ...
4G does work in this ROM. If you got issues make sure to double check that only one card is set to 4g modus. If that is not the case, set them both to GSM only and then re enable 4G networks for the card where you want mobile data.

This is typical marshmallow dual sim behaviour, setting network modes manually is needed as well on my Z7 max. As for the camera problems, disable it from the resurrection settings configurations - buttons tab. There is a setting about camera activation there, get it disabled to prevent it from getting enabled on random times.

Bugs & fixes

Sometimes double tap to wake works unreliably: settings > display & light > disable "prevent accidental wake-up" .
Sometimes signal loss will occur; reported to happen after switching from wifi to data. A reboot will fix this.
Under 180 dpi (including), the software may misbehave and FC might occur.
Q&A
General ROM Questions
1. How can I theme RR 'N'? Where is CMTE?
A: Developers of Cyanogen Mod are still working on CMTE for Nougat. RR has no control over this, and we are just as eager to have it as you are. For now, you can download and use Substratum (Legacy) to theme RR. However, some themes can cause bootloops if you install the Android System overlay. If you decide to use Substratum, you are doing this at your own risk! Please read the pinned post in the Substratum community for more information.
2. When will RR 'N' be available for my device?
A: If your device has a maintainer, it will be available when he/she decides to build it. Please don't ask for ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) or about updates here.
3. Where can I find RR downloads for my device?
A: Official builds: http://downloads.resurrectionremix.com
Mirror: https://sourceforge.net/projects/resurrectionremix/files/
Unofficial builds: Can be found on https://www.androidfilehost.com, OR on XDA in the RR thread for your device.
- Note: If you cannot find RR for your device using the above suggestions, then RR is most likely not available for your device.
4. Can you please make RR for my device? (device request)
A: Developers of RR cannot build RR for your device unless one of them owns that device. If RR developers obtain your device through donation or by purchasing it themselves, then they will probably build it for your device (as long as there is already a CM build for that device). Please do not make device requests.
5. Can I dirty flash RR?
A: Sometimes, yes. However, a clean flash is always recommended, because dirty flashing can cause bugs. If you dirty flash RR to your device and experience any bugs, please do not report them here. RR developers will not help you until you do a clean flash and reproduce the bug.
6. How can I update RR without losing apps and data?
A: By performing a dirty flash. In TWRP, go to "Advanced Wipe", and wipe only dalvik, system, and cache. Then install ROM and Gapps. (However, please read question #5).
7. Why is OTA not working? (E.g. “Cant' check update”)
A: Not all builds of RR have OTA enabled because it can only be enabled by your maintainer (the person who builds RR for your device). If you are using a build that does not have a working OTA, contact your maintainer on XDA in the RR thread for your device, and request that they take a look at https://github.com/resurrectionremix/ota .
8. Which kernel is best for this rom?
A: The RR stock kernel. You can go ahead and install a custom kernel to your device, however if you experience any bugs while using a custom kernel, RR developers will not help you until you revert back to the stock kernel and re-produce the bug.
9. Which Gapps should I use?
A: Open Gapps or Dynamic Gapps. For Open Gapps, the package you choose depends on how many of the Google apps you want included in your ROM. Please see the Open Gapps website for a description of each package.
10. How can I find who my maintainer is, and where can I contact them?
A: Go to Settings --> Configurations --> About Resurrection --> Devices and Maintainers. However, please contact your maintainer on XDA in the RR thread for your device, NOT through G+.
Feature Questions
11. Where is ________ feature?
A. RR Nougat is still in early development/testing, and many features that were on Marshmallow haven't been re-added to Nougat yet. Be patient, more features will be added as time goes by.
12. Where can I turn on/off the battery charging light and notification light?
A: Go to Settings --> Notifications --> Then press the settings 'gear' symbol in the top right corner of your screen. You will then see options for battery and notification lights.
13. How can I use split-screen/multi-window?
A: Open the Recents menu, then long-press on a window and drag it to the top of the screen. You can also use the Smartbar settings to assign the Recents button to open split-screen by long-pressing or double-tapping.
14. What is the purpose of the Caffeine tile?
A: The Caffeine tile is similar to the Timeout tile, but the Caffeine tile will only extend your screen timeout 'temporarily'. Once the time on the Caffeine tile runs out, it turns off and reverts back to your 'original' screen timeout. The caffeine tile can also be set to 'infinite'.
15. Why is DT2W not working?
A: Not all devices have this feature, so RR does not include it in the main RR rom/kernel. It is a feature that must be added to your device's kernel. If you know that your device is compatible with DT2W, then contact your maintainer on XDA to ask them if they can include it in the kernel. Some 'custom' kernels also have this feature, so you may need to use a custom kernel. However, please read question #8 above.
16. Can I use Xposed / is Xposed compatible with RR?
A: Xposed for Nougat is not available yet. But even if it was, RR does not officially support Xposed. So please do not ask Xposed related questions here.
17. Why can't I add the bottom QS tiles to my QS panel?
A: This seems to be a bug in all Nougat roms. To add the tiles, set the number of columns in your QS panel to a higher number, add the tiles you want, then restore the number of columns back to how you want it.

Can't wait to try it! Does the rotation bug on the d620 still exist with RR 5.8?
Ih everybody! I'm on D620r and I've tried your rom yesterday! For me it's working flawlessing! Autorotation and gapps fully working! And the system it's very smooth! I've no credit in my sim and can't check if the bug of data persist in my model, but if I activate data with my operator(Vodafone ita) the 4G icon appear and the phone sync some data without random reboot 🤔 I will try it in this day and report if I encounter some annoying bugs . Thanks for your hard work and this awesome rom!

Sorry use Translate
Hi. On my D620r data connection work fine but bluetooh doesn't work
I have also a problem with stock file manager. I can't read sdcard.
Thank you for the great job. I love Nougat notification
Flashed a few minutes ago. I have an D620R.
Mobile data(3G/4G) works, rotation works, file manager works, bluetooth seems not to work with me as well(dont care though) .
Really stable, blazing fast. This screeeeems daily driver! Great job mm and RR!!
Bugs that i found
- Installation process. I get two errors, something with log (sorry, i don't remember) but... after reboot rom starts without problems.
- Battery icon - default is circle but after start is in 'icon portrait' - after second change everything is ok; but after reboot icon is back to portrait mode
- Statusbar battery charging percent - default is ON - lightning icon was in circle - after change (on->off->on) there is no more lightning icon
- Bluetooth doesn't work
File explorer work - just need to confirm access rights.
Mobile data also work. Is it normal that there is a small "X" near signal strength when data is off?

Thank you for testing. I have some comments:
-This happens with every Nougat rom currently, and not just on our phone. It's fine and doesn't do anything... I believe it is a TWRP problem.
-This is a RR problem, which I obviously can't change. I'm sure that in the next build (hint hint) it will be addressed.
-Same.
-I'll have to look in to this. I'll add it to the bug section.
File manager - you are correct
Mobile data icon - yes it's normal that there is a X. I think it better shows you if it's on or off.
And
- Quick settings - not all icons from the list i can drag and drop
Anyway.. can i use your kernel for this rom?
