Project Starkiller - OnePlus X Android Development

I'm going to try something new everyone. Lately I've been updating this kernel and making it exclusive to TG, but I want to share it with you guys. Its compiled with Uber and has several optimizations and tweaks. Do not discuss off topic stuff. I will try to check this regularly but its better if you contact me on TG.
https://telegram.me/skkernel
Enjoy!
I will add a full features list when I find time but here's a run down:
1. Franco's thermal driver with VADC support
2. Generic input boost driver
3. AKs CPU boost
4. Several governors
5. Sweep2Wake
6. Several TCP clients
7. Several power adjustments
8. Mpdecision, Thunder Plug, Alucard
9. UV/OC
10. Adreno idler
11. Sound control
12. USB fast charge and charge level interface
13. FIOPS and sioplus
14. Adaptive LMK
15. Less aggressive SWAP
16. FSync
Sure I forgot something

Follow the tutorial here to get bootloader unlocked and recovery installed.
Once recovery is got, you could follow the instructions on OP page and install the kernel. From the previous posts, i suppose it works fine on the stock CM11 shipped with device.

[KERNEL][UNNOFFICIAL][WIP] Intoxicated Boeffla

Hi all,
As most of you may now, Boeffla is compiled with the ramdisk from CM. There are both pros and cons to this implementation which I'd rather not get into...
Truth be told, as it is at this very moment, most ROMs include patches to the kernel and device tree from @martinusbe. As it stands, we have a divided background; different products are being thrown into different ROMs with the two main branches being Validus and CM.
I took the liberty to break that division so that the majority of us may enjoy Boeffla, and named it Intoxicated Boeffla to fall in line with what @martinusbe coined his kernel.
I can guarantee that Intoxicated Boeffla will always work with Tipsy, Tesla, and Validus (maybe DU, most likely Krexus, and a few others that I will not provide support for).... It should work with most other ROMs as well... even the ones that are built from CM source.
POST ALL BUGS HERE
This alone is bound to introduce issues that you will not have with mainline Boeffla. ASSUME IT IS MY FAULT, NOT HIS
If I see anyone post a single complaint in his thread, I will halt development (here at least).
Features
Checkout all the features of Boeffla in the original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...rnel-boeffla-kernel-5-0-alpha6-11-04-t3357139
1. Uber 6.1.1 (DespairFactors)
2. OC up to 2.88ghz
3. msm_cpufreq
4. Intoxicated kernel
5. Numerous CAF optimisations
6. Several kernel level bugs fixed
7. Multiple restructures
8. Encryption
And more to come!

None

Thanks
@Lord Boeffla, without you, this wouldn't be possible (obviously haha)
@ZaneZam, for the inspiration and commits required to get Boeffla to compile with higher Uber versions
@martinusbe, for the work on Intoxicated, and ultimately making this something I had to do because all of my favorite ROMs use your source
... and anyone else who's contributed to Boeffla in any way.... If you need to be here, please let me know

Installation
1. Wipe Dalvik, cache, system, and data.
2. Flash ROM
3. Flash kernel
Contributors: @RJDTWO
DO NOT DIRTY FLASH! YOU WILL FACE BASEBAND AND MODEL NUMBER ISSUES!!!
FAQ
Q: Which edition should I flash?
A: Standard intoxicated for Ground Zero ROMs, Candied for ROMs made by rohitporoli, Sultan for his ROM as well as CM13 , Temasek, and AOKP, Exodus for... Exodus, and Paranoid for PA
Q: Why did you implement such and such feature if you knew it would break something?
A: Because I can. I love to test experimental features.
Q: Boeffla Config isn't displaying a certain feature
A: Use Kernel Auditor
Q: Why Uber?
A: Because I prefer its enhancements over Linaros
Q: Will you ever implement DragonTC?
A: Maybe
Planned features
1. More frequencies (up to 3.0ghz down to 268)
2. ElementalX (adopting it is going to be a pain in the a$$ though...)
3. General optimizations

Cool, i'll follow the progress
Tesla and Validus are built with DragonTC now, settings hasn't been adapted for it yet, will be fixed
Yeah, boeffla with Krexus or Tipsy would be awesome
Too bad I can't test it because of my finals, I'll be back in two weeks to take a look at it

I'll look into compiling it with DragonTC 3.9 then for coherence... Theoretically it should be a tad better anyway... Thanks for the heads up
Edit: and if you're using prebuilts for the two ROMs, I believe there's a newer build than the one from March from the 28th of last month. I think I'll just compile the it, but its worth noting
I know I should be preparing for my finals but I have RC2 building (nothing coffee can't fix) with a few things I think we will all enjoy... Get ready!
Oops... Forgot to update Kconfig... Give me a moment...
Uploading. A few enhancements were made for a cleaner build process.
I tried to add a few governors but its getting late... The governors are there but yet aren't recognized by Boeffla Config.
They are:
ElementalX
Despair
BioShock
If anyone wants to have a closer look, the source should be up in the morning.
The naming has been fixed as well.
Enjoy!
RJ
Edit: See where I messed up now... I'll fix it either tomorrow or Wednesday... Well now you know what's to come

No. I have to update Kconfig again and add them in there. I only defined default earlier and not the governed itself.... That's why they won't show up. Dont worry. I'll fix this soon

I'm currently on AOKP and official cm boeffla. Will i have any benefit from using this build besides added featires?

While it should work, AOKP is built from CM sources. Uberb5.3.1 and the eventual implementation of DrafonTC 3.9 should be good enough though . May even upstream Uber if I can find the flag that'd messing up the tristate switch... Which shouldn't be a problem because DragonTC doesn't work with a few of them. Besides that no not now. The features I'm implementing are bugs that haven't been patched yet. I'm going to look into the LED implementation next.
ZaneZam sticks to mainline code so unless your ROM uses martinusbes tweaks, you're fine going that route... For now at least.
How's the kernel at the moment on Tipsy or Validus? Any bugs or some negative aspects?

Nope! Smooth as on CM! RC2 is a bit smoother on my end too.
Teaser for tomorrow.... Governors still aren't showing up which I don't understand... Everything in the kernel has been adapted to support them... I'll look at it tomorrow though. Getting late.

Friend Ready to Get Nitrogen For Your Angler..
ROM and other Mods Links are in 1st page,
But before flashing you've to need Bootloader,Radio and Vendor images..
I suggest you please Flash all images with Fastboot commands...
Make a full Backup of your Whole Angler including Nandroid backup just in case...
And then start flashing. I highly suggest you Don't restore your EFS partition until you need them.

My two cents is to try the inbuilt root and kernel first, if you don't like it, then flash away.
But I believe you need he latest supersu ran as systemless mode for ad away to work, which you need the ad away system less zip. I can host the zip if you need it.

Actually I love RR but I can't prevent myself to flash N ROMs,After trying a lot I stay with Nitrogen, Because I found Nitrogen has a lot of similarities with RR in terms of Customization, And yes I'll definitely Revert back to RR when @varund7726 announced official build that is coming soon, Because official CM 14 experimental build for OP3 has out and we'll get for Angler soon.
So I think Its good to wait for them who only want RR for Angler..[emoji4]

Take that profile you have (hawk tail) and rename it and delete the .txt part. Then drag that file into the elemental x file on your internal SD card (this is where all profiles go)
Open up elemental x manager, hit CPU, turn on the blue toggles for interactive on the first two options, then hit governor options (I believe its the third option down) once the page opens, hit load at the top right, then scroll down and select hawk tail, then hit apply at boot. Then make sure you find touch boost, it may say disabled or enabled already, you can touch the word touch boost and you'll see it change from enabled to disabled or vise versa, then hit the button power button to the right to activate the disabling.
That should do it. You'll see your CPU sitting lower way more often, saving battery.
If my instructions were unclear, I can upload a step by step with pics here if you need

Quick question... I know you made this thread to talk about Roms we are running. Are you OK with the off topic conversations? Such as governor profiles, battery life, and such?
I just want to keep this thread as it was intended to be. Lemme know if we should steer the conversation into a different direction.

[Kernel][VS995][10b] reStock - a stock based kernel for V20 VZW V1.4 2018-03-05

OK, here I go. I started this for self edification and to get my Version V20 on a stable kernel with no static on boot. I started out with the open source from LG for the VS995, in this case 10b. I figured this would be the best starting point and it seemed to work well. From there added what was missing from other kernels that I needed. I figured I'd share the results. I may add more features, governors, I/O schedulers, KCAL possibly, etc. at a later date. I'll take feature requests but the goal is to keep it simple and stable and I'm not much above a novice when it comes to tinkering with the kernel so bear with me.
I don't plan on supporting other variants and don't know if this kernel would work on any other variants.
Features so far:
No static on boot.
exFAT support
LZ4 kernel compression
Remove verifiedbootstate flag patch
KCAL support
Noop, Deadline, CFQ, FIOPS, SIO, BFQ and Zen I/O schedulers
Cubic, Reno, BIC, DCTCP, Westwood, Highspeed, Hybla, HTCP, Vegas, Scalable, LP, Yeah and Illinois TCP congestion control algorithms
ElementalX, Blu_active CPU governors
Adrenoboost (from @flar2)
RCTD, CCMD, and Triton removal (based off of the script from @Zacharee1)
WireGuard VPN
Changelog
V1.4 3/5/18
Added WireGuard (thanks (again) to @poixninja for this one)
V1.3 - 12/8/17
Added Adrenoboost GPU boost
Added RCTD, CCMD and Triton removal script to installer
V1.2 - 3/29/17
Added ElementalX and Blu_active CPU governors
V1.1 - 2/28/17
Added FIOPS, SIO, BFQ and Zen I/O schedulers
Added DCTCP, Westwood, Highspeed, Hybla, HTCP, Vegas, Scalable, LP, Yeah and Illinois TCP congestion control algorithms
Added KCAL support (thanks to @poixninja for this one)
V1.0 - 2/14/17
Initial release
Note on installing: I recomment using TWRP 3.2.0-0 for the vs995 to install this kernel. The 3.1.1-0 version generic 'elsa' release does not work for flashing some custome kernels, including this one. TWRP 3.0.2-1 for the us996 will also work.

Wow! Glad to see someone doing this! I am currently using the konverged kernel just because of how well managed it is and what It has. Im unsure if its possible, but do you mind looking at what it has and see if you could port those things to this kernel? I have no knowledge of how to do this or id already have done it. The battery life itself makes that kernel amazing. But it has the static boot :/
Edit- I'll most likely test it here soon! Currently can't but I'll get to it xD
Wow good job man, I'll test it out and see whats up. Thanks

If there is any difference it may be in some core control code. See if you can give me some sort of ballpark guess at how much of a difference there is between the two and I'll look into if I can implement it.

It works on 3 V20s I've tested it on so this is the first failure I've encountered. I guess we'll start with the basics. What screen does it die on? Are you on a VS995 or another variant? What rom are you using, I've only had stock to test?

Well I'm just meaning the things that is has implemented into it. I couldnt even give you a ballpark guess on how different they are sadly. I have no idea how to edit kernels for that matter. If its too much trouble then idk xD Sorry for bothering you then lol

I'll certainly look into it and do what I can. I'm also looking at I/O schedulers and possibly governors to get better battery life/performance but my goal is to make sure I don't break anything. I'm learning a lot on the fly here so be patient. Battery life seems OK so I don't want to jump into things too quickly. I only had my device and 2 others briefly to test it on and then I'm pretty sure there is a lot that hasn't been tested.

Yea no worries! The konverged kernel might have those. I get like 16+ on debloated and greenify governing and 12+ without it so it must have something like what you are looking for. Currently I have a VS996 on Weta US996 with the konverged kernel. So I will test this one out as soon as possible.
So no static on boot ? Just flash via twrp?

Yes to both. Due to the one report of it not booting I would make sure you have a backup on hand.

Do you by any chance have su hide flashed? I had the same thing occur to me while updating my kernel and rom. If su hide was installed and the kernel got changed, it would refuse to boot. Just a suggestion if you do have it installed, I advise to uninstalling it first.
Ok so not sure if i did something wrong but for some reason this kernel wouldn't boot up for me. I was on NRD90M Modded NotSoStock Rom for the vs995 with the Konverged Kernel. I did a clean flash and restored my backup from TWRP and reflashed the new kernel but no dice. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Su Hide repacks your boot.img (kernel) so half of it would be installed and the system wouldnt be able to boot properly. So installing a new kernel with su hide already installed will just cause a bootloop.

Just removed SU hide, and reflashed booted up with no static screen. Thanks again. Now to try this baby out.

You should be able to reflash su hide! Just make sure to uninstall it before switch to another kernel!
I sure hope you go the long-haul on developing this kernel. VS995 sorely needs some love lol

Thanks for helping troubleshoot this. I have not had time to test and root cloaking although I was asked to put in the patch to bypass the SafetyNet CTS test by a friend who hasn't reported if it even worked or not. It's on my list of things to try, I'd like to use Android Pay, but I have other things I want to get to first.

In for a penny in for a pound as I always say... or at least when I'm using a fake accent to try to pick up chicks. Anyway, I own a V20 and will probably have the device for a while. Unless something happens to it or other developers can put more effort into it, I'll do what I need to to get my device to work as I want it. Beyond that I am open to suggestions.
By chance have you seen anything missing in the kernel preventing Wi-Fi calling? Mine says Wi-Fi calling is on but when you place the phone in airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi it says can not make call in airplane mode.

I believe you just need to go back into your settings and re-enable wifi, airplane mode disables it by default. I tested wifi calling this way was tested and it should work fine.

I have done that, I turn on airplane mode, turn on wifi and try to make a call and it says it can not call in airplane mode. Stock it would make the call and show its in WiFi calling

[rom][aospa][7.2.3][bacon]

VV READ THIS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE VV
By using this ROM you agree to these conditions:
1. I am not responsible for anything that you do or that happens to you that is related to the ROM in anyway.
2. You have an advance knowledge of how this stuff works before trying it yourself.
3. You have backups and know how to recover your data if something was to happen.
I am not connected in any way, shape or form to AOSPA. I just respect them and like what they do.:good:
I did not make this ROM. All I've done is compiled it from the source on GitHub, anyone could do that. ----> https://github.com/AOSPA/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974
Okay I believe that covers me, so lets get down to the specifics.
It takes me approximately 35m to compile a new build, I'll do this either weekly or sub-weekly if there's a bad bug that's been fixed.
I have not had any problems thus far with it.
To flash this I strongly recommend you
1. Use the latest TWRP.
2. Have a backup in case you mess something up.
3. Wipe only these partitions: system, data and both caches. DO NOT EVER WIPE THE INTERNAL STORAGE OR THE OTG DRIVE
4. Flash the ROM.
5. Flash the most recent Open GApps [ARM] [7.1] the variant is up to you but I recommend [PICO]
6. Reboot and enjoy!:good:
Bugs:
I don't know, you tell me. I haven't had anything go wrong.

Same as PA ?
OP,please add "unofficial" to the title.I know you've kind of mentioned that in OP but still.. It wouldn't hurt.
Also, "It takes me approximately 35m to compile a new build". What kind of internet you have?!

What do you mean? My internet is 100mbps (12MB/s). I have moderate specs for a PC, i5-6402p, 8GB RAM and SATA lll 3TB HDD 64MB cache, Kubuntu 17.10 with modifications and bleeding edge software updates (I'm moving to Gentoo soon).
What do you mean "unofficial as of now"? I don't see a need to add it if it's not a requirement.

Don't forget to post sources (kernel is required)..
Having installed magisk, opengapps, default apps I always use on each rom i lose 12% battery over night. Temporary switched back to another ROM... need stability.
Will try soon again
Any changes made versus the latest official AOSPA build? NFC? Camera?

I don't think there's any change to NFC.I'll have to try out this ROM to compare camera against official PA,which I'll do soon.

Not having any stability problems myself but I'll look into it. I did not change anything from the master on GitHub, no modifications, pure AOSPA.

Sooooo you're just compiling moments before the PA team does without any changes? This means I could just wait for the PA-team to compile their build and I'll get exactly the same, right? Or am I missing something here

I don't know what you mean by moments before they do. But yeah what I compile is exactly the same as if they were to release an update. But they haven't all they have on their website is AOSPA 7.2.1. That's the whole point of why I'm doing it, I liked the ROM but wanted updates, so when they make improvements on the master I pull the changes and compile a new build.
