LG G Pad X 8.0 Boot on charge - LG G Pad X 8.0 Questions & Answers

I am in the process of installing the T-Mobile version of the G Pad X 8.0 in my car. I need it to boot upon receiving a charge (turning ignition), rather than showing the charging icon. I've done this with a Nexus 7 however that fastboot command does not work with this tablet. Additionally, I found this thread which discusses simply modifying the code of a charging file. However, I cannot find the correct file to modify: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26294258/auto-boot-when-wall-charger-is-plugged
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

After digging around I found the file chargerlogo which calls the animation for charging while the phone is off. I confirmed this as looking at the code in the file it calls the relevant charging images. The problem is that the file is located in /sbin and when I add the code /system/bin/reboot, it gets deleted and the original file is replaced. Is there any way to keep the changes I make to that file? I am able to make permanent changes to the images and the ini file for chargerlogo, but I don't think that is helpful. Thanks for any input.

Bought one last night to replace my timur'd n7_2013 so I'm interested in any updates or progress!
Ethan

I am also installing my G pad in the car, I very interested in this and anything else you may learn. One thing I am also hunting for is FM support even if its a dongle of sorts.
Thanks

All,
Having pretty great results with AUTO SLEEPER from the
Play store. Investigating why it's not feel sleeping... But otherwise it's perfect on/off with ignition!

I use autosleeper and stay alive on mine in the car with power from ignition source

The AutoSleeper is not goo enough for me, anyone found a way to make it boot on charge? (LG G-PAD7).
Thanks,
Tal.

Dock not working?

My dock arrived a little while ago, so I charged it and then connected to the tablet. It showed that an update was available so I installed the update.
While the mousepad works and it is currently charging the tablet ... none of the keys seem to work.
Any idea what could be wrong? Is mine defective or is there a simple configuration I'm not aware of? Just in case I disabled Thumb Keyboard and I have the Asus keyboard selected (Use physical keyboard is set to ON as well).
Pull tablet out of dock.
Put tablet back in dock.
Fixed?
Unfortunately no. Same situation. Cursor and multi-touch work, but no keys.
Should I assume no one has seen this issue?
try lock key
In the upper right? Doesn't appear to do anything

Did you try the keyboard prior to the update, or is this a new problem post update?

Unfortunately I didn't try it prior to the update since the notification appeared basically right away.
At that point I had only used the pad to move the cursor around. So it is possible the keys never worked, but I suppose it is also possible they worked pre-update.
dock problems of my own
I got the transformer about a little less than a week ago, installed the update, everything was fine. today i got the dock, it seemed to work, saw the firmware update, clicked to update, "Update Failed." Tried again, again failed. Now the transformer doesn't even recognized that its connected. No matter what I do, it won't be recognized... what should i do?
Thanks in advance.
Hi
yesterday, I bought my TF with keyboard. After playing a while, I decided to root them. After succesfully rooting process I installed custom ROM (3.1 from moDaCo page) . It was all the time inserted into dock station but for customising I pull it out. When I insert TF to dock the keyboard stops response. TouchScreen was active. I saw small icon with "!" that update for dock station failed. I re-run the update process (using touch navigation) but it won't progress at all (still 0). Then I reboot TF, and try to start update again. With success. Now all is working perfectly.
Maybe this description helps you somehow.
good luck.
Keyboard not working
I am now experiencing the original issue from this thread. I can not find any other threads describing this exact issue.
Here is the message that I sent Asus support. No reply yet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keyboard on my docking station stopped working. no errors it just stops. Battery still charges the tablet....Touchpad still works (and buttons)....closing and opening the tablet still shuts off and turns on screen.
No keys work. If I disable the keyboard through the android interface (Use Physical Keyboard = Off) the onscreen keyboard works fine (Current Keyboard is set to ASUS Keyboard).
I have tried
multiple apps
rebooting
undocking and redocking
hitting every key one at a time
hitting every key at the same time
closing the tablet and reopening it
device has not taking any shocks
battery is full
no contact with water
Last time I touched it it worked. it just stopped working.
Here is some additional information that I have learned.
I have tried a second keyboard dock and it does not work either.
I have done a restore to factory state with no change.
Tablet: B50 32gb Not Rooted and current on all asus updates.
Keyboard: B60 no updates available from asus.
I have the same issue
First, put your keyboard on another tablet and make sure the keyboard works. If the keyboard fails on two tablets the keyboard ribbon tape in the dock may be bad, e.g. RMA.
Then, two steps that might work:
(1) reapply the latest update via manual update
(2) factory reset
Might try in any order:
1 & 2
2 & 1
others.
Good luck.

As i stated above i tried two docks and both experienced the issue.
Mine started while the dock was plugged in so a damaged port is unlikely.
As stated above a factory reset has already been done.
I downloaded the firmware updater from the asus ftp site and extracted the asus folder to /microSD with no effect. I can't get a manual update to run. What might i be doing wrong.
I confirmed that the downloaded firmware and current firmware are US
I Confirmed that the zip file is in /asus/update

I searched for instructions from a couple threads and the ASUS pdf and tried a few things before it worked for me. I do not remember exactly which worked, sorry.
Best wishes and good luck!
This worked for me:
1.Make it so your screen is set to "NEVER" turn off. Put max brightness, maybe play a game or something. Let your battery die. (without the dock)
2.Charge your pad without the battery until it's 100% full. Test to see if it is working. It should be but no guarantees.
3. If you have a dock, charge it as well. You should be able to use your keyboard and the battery life should be visible.
mine has been fine. Not sure if step 1 is needed. If mine stops working again I'll try to reply here.

I put screen to Never Turn off, max brightness, and played a game until the battery completly died.
I charged my pad with out the keyboard to 100%.
No effect.
I'm charging the keyboard right now.
Battery life has always been visible for me.
Well I finally got ahold of ASUS Support. They are having me RMA both my tablet and keyboard (not sure why the keyboard is being RMA'd since it works fine on my friends tablet) I hope I don't get a bad unit back as my current unit has minimal light bleed (not even noticable outside the boot screen) no creaking and my keyboard is a B60 so no issue with battery drain.
I had this issue but fixed it doing what I said. It hasn't come back for days! Also installed different roms and whatnot.

[Q] - Ca-Fi Android Car Stereo

Does anyone have the Ca-Fi Android car stereo? It seems it was recently released. I really want one, and will probably get one.
ca-fi.com/en/
Im debating on ordering one too.... though they list a 800mhz and a 1.2ghz version. Seems the 800mhz version is the only one available
Wish XDA would make a section for it and some custom **** was done with it!
total junk. save your money
I got one yesterday and installed it. Save your money. Its total junk. Was definatelu rushed to market.
No android market (yes you read that right)
Navigation requires data connection either through hsdpa gsm 3g or wifi (meaning you have to provide data for navigation to work at all)
Voice navigation doesnt work (it asks you to install additional files via the market, which again doesnt exist so it fails)
Every time i start the unit it goes to fm radio even when i dont want it to. Force closing the radio app does nothing.
The list goes on and on and on. NEVER AGAIN

Oh that's disappointing. I'm still considering buying one, just to see if I can root it, and fix some of the problems that you listed.

I actually thkught about that too. Problem is you really cant connect it to a pc so any rooting work woukd have to be done via microsd card and run natively in 2.2. Not only that even if you root it theres no gurantee the android market would be installed as the "default" market. This means the voice navigation may never be solved.
Long story short, i am veey disappointed. :-(
that unfortunately, I wanted one for my birthday

Doesn't it have a USB port on it?
I made the same mistake of purchasing one. I have been unsuccessful in trying to root it. Z4 will just freeze the device requiring a power cycle. I attempted to connect via USB but did not have any luck using this method either. The problem is that the radio runs both USB ports in Host mode. This keeps it from showing up as a device when you connect it to a computer. I have tried both the front and rear ports with Windows and Linux.
I did manage to get the Android Market app installed. It took a good bit of work and involved copying the Google apps including first boot to an SDcard and sideloading them. The first boot app did break my home button, it currently does nothing and I can't figure out how to re associate it with the launcher.
Once I was able to connect my Google account, I was able to sideload the market apk. Of course, this required working wifi. The dumb device is configured for wifi using a wpa_supplicant file which specifies that 802.1x authentication is required. Seeing as I'm not using this on my wifi, I needed an app called wifi fixer to override this setting. I also needed to setup an unsecured wireless network because I couldn't get wifi-fixer to connect to a wep or wpa network. Once connected, the wireless was very spotty but worked long enough for what I needed.
After all this was completed, I was able to download an offline navigation app, copilot live, that would allow me to use the device as a nav while I wasn't sitting in the driveway connected to the wifi. I did try connecting to my rooted DroidX with CM7 using wifi tether but could not get the radio to complete the connection.
As shassouneh pointed out, it boots into FM Radio every time its powered on. This allows it to start playing music quickly, but is very annoying. I typically stream music from my phone over bluetooth which requires the volume to be much louder than when listening to the FM Radio. When you start the vehicle, the volume is remembered and will be deafening. The FM radio application is very buggy and it will take several attempts to save your radio presets with an acceptable name. It tries to use the digitally broadcast station information as the preset name, but often it just returns garbage. After trying some twenty times, I was able to get most of my presets to read the frequency and the FCC station name. (ex. 93.1 WPOC).
The touch screen is very disappointing. It's a low-quality restive type which requires that you touch below the point you're aiming for. This makes getting to buttons at the very bottom of the screen a challenge. I tried calibrating the screen, but was sent into and endless loop of touching the cross-hairs...
The "Phone" app has all the bluetooth configuration including pairing, contacts, music, etc. it is very rudimentary. The radio frequently fails to connect to my phone on its own and needs to be forced to connect. Sometimes the play button will start the phone playing music and other times it won't. I haven't found a rhyme or reason for it yet. It doesn't support AVRCP and as such you get three buttons when streaming music over bluetooth: Previous, Play/Pause, and Next. There's no indication of which song is playing nor is there any way to browse the music on the phone from the radio.
Overall, the device is absolutely terrible. Perhaps if I could root it, I could fix a number of its annoying characteristics and it wouldn't be so bad. I was most disappointed by the poor wifi and the FM radio at boot. There is such potential here to make an awesome device... Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage no matter how tempting it may be.
Bought one also !!!
I discovered that the product seems to be sold has with another brand :
http://www.ekoore.com/web/en/product/car-hi-fi-2/elija-2/overview-6.html
The point is that they are providing an update.zip containing files and probably could be used for rooting the device. Found the link http://www.ekoore.it/download/elija/update.zip in the italian forum.
From what I understood, this is a 2.3 device ...
Confirmed mine is 2.3.3
Tried several rooting tools (Z4, GingerBreak, Visonnary+, Universal Androot ...) none of these are working.
Wasn't able to dump the rom (no ADB, used terminal with RomDump V7.2) but found that there is a physical switch inside the box. I can have a message displayed "No signal received", just by starting the device while the switch is pressed. Didn't manage to konow if this is bootloader mode or not.
Found a Quick Start guide explaining how to build kernel and so on http://wendang.baidu.com/view/6545cb13a216147917112879.html
Chip TC8900 seems to be used widely for several chinese tablets. So rooting shouldn't be as difficult as it seems. My guess is that the only way to have it rooted is to modify the update.zip above....but I don't know how to do it !!
From what I understood, the radio, BT etc ... parts are not running Android and are something completely different. The only way to switch to an android environment is to go to navigate mode.
Guys,
I'm surprised, I've had this installed in my car for a couple months now and it works great and I do use it daily and thoroughly.
I have installed Android market (couple of minutes, easy to do), have my email, contacts, everything setup, I even get auto updates for installed apps
Bluetooth pairing with both my HD2's works flawlessly and synced all contacts from both phones
The dedicated iPod interface works great with my 160Gb iPod, I have a USB hub in the glovebox with a 2.5" HDD , WiFi dongle and 3g dongle all connected in.
Navigation doesn't require a data connection, I have a several different SatNav apps installed - some online and some offline, but I stick with Waze as I like it..., Waze unfortunately starts up in portrait but that's easily sorted with a press of the home key and Waze also puts up a single warning about battery being flat, but there's no battery, so what would you expect.....
can also listen to good quality internet radio on the move
If you buy a device like this, you've gotta expect a data connection to be required for initial setup of your apps and how you want them, I've run the device without internet, through my phone and through a 3g dongle.
It works properly and reliably with my original steering wheel controls and the way it sets this up is the best I've seen on a in car device and simplicity itself.
It also boots to the last source being played, in my case normally iPod, but if the iPod etc is missing, then it will default to the radio.
The touchscreen isn't the best in the world, but is very useable, if the alignment is out then recalibrate it by holding the back button until the calibration screen appears..
Only thing I really don't like is if you burn some mp3's to a cd/dvd, they play through the dvd interface, not through the android media players.
I genuinely like the unit, it's a nice toy to have in the car and has no more issues than any other android device I've used...

Should say that the FM quality is really awful ! Can't even get the RDS working ...
French translation is missing sereval items (or completly false). Got the wifi + market without too much trouble. The touchscreen is usable.
I definitely love to have it rooted

Cool device. I loved it sound quality, pure, very sharp image. Very quick response. Yes, the touch screen isn't as good as we used to have on smart phones. Still works o.k. Just look at others DVD player made on Windows CE6.0 platform. They ain't better in anyway.

Could you please give me a hint how you manage to install Market on that thing?
Still working on it. Which Android version do you have? I have 2.2
You see, Android Market which built for smart phones doesn't work very well for CAR stereo devices. That Market doesn't differentiate between "good" and harmful applications, which can shut down your system forever.
Remember most of software designed for smart phones doesn't work under CA-FI platforms. Supplier said so, I 'd be happy to be wrong.....

Is that possible to use that manual for building a kernel, which could be used instead of pre-installed software? Seems interesting. Any thoughts?
Market came from the 2.3.3 build already installed on device. You probably can try the apk within the update archive http://www.ekoore.it/download/elija/update.zip . As the italian website is quite slow i extracted it. From what i understood update seems to not working on all devices.
Regarding the manual, of course I was thinking it could help for anything like root, recovery image or enabling adb. But honestly i don't have enough knowledge to do myself.
Hi Everyone, just found this thread. I have this unit as well and have been building info on the MP3car site about it, overall i'm happy with the unit although i haven't been able to do everything i want to it.
The audio quality for me is good and i can tether data off of my phone to play internet radio and navigate through waze or otherwise. I'd definately like to see some development in this area myself as there are some welcome improvements to be made. i've sideloaded the market but was never able to update it. the player will default to the last built in media that was played when it shuts down and there seems to be several volume streams built in, i've heard people haven't been able to adjust these with volume apps.
here is the MP3car thread: http://www.mp3car.com/android-tablet/150109-innotrends-ca-fi-on-order-will-review.html
Upon request, here is the update zip from the italian forum. Rename from update.zip to elira-update.zip

I recently purchased and installed the Ca-Fi "Universal" 620 to replace my JVC head unit that died after 5 years. Because there isn't much information out there about this product, not even from the manufacture, I thought I'd provide the good and bad from an audiophiles perspective(...and I only coin the term audiophile because I have a full on sound system in my car, not because I'm into the lossless debates and all that BS).
The Bad (or the ugly):
-Has an individual RCA jack for subwoofer output. (left/right(white/black, red) is pretty standard. Now I have to buy a sum'er to join the channels. What if I had two subs running left and right channels of bass...I'd be up a creek and would have to buy splitter then a line driver...blah come on.
-Although there is individual subwoofer level control there is no subwoofer (low) frequency control. So, my lows that run to my subwoofer are the lows that will run to my speakers and I can’t do this cause my front stage was meant for highs and mids.
-The Graphic EQ, although having 10+ frequency to set they provide automatic roll off of nearby frequencies so, it's hard to fine tune.If you’re going to give me that many frequencies then please let me control each one of them.
-The balance controls (and all other touch screen sliders)were OK but, they sorely need increase/decrease buttons (i.e. “+” and “-“). Trying to configure a good sound stage is hard with resistive touch screen sliders.
-The P.CNTL (I assume Power Control, again no documentation) is switched off and on when you change sources (or I think actually when no sound is “sensed”) whaa? So now, because my amps have delayed starts, each time I switch a source (or Pandora even buffers a new song) the relay power drops to my amps and I have to wait for my amps to power up again. Not to mention the pops because of the high current switching on and off..man. So now I have to find an off delay relay so my amps don't turn off when I change the source. Now I could very well be the idiot on this one and need to use the P.ANT (I assume power antenna) but, the reason I didn’t is because P.ANT is solid blue wire, whereas P.CNTRL is a blue with white strip which is more industry standard for relay control.
-The boot up source is always going to the Radio. I read some other folks already discuss that here and there but, come on, really, you can't just remember the last source I had.
-Bluetooth (or lack thereof) yes, it will play your music from your phone (in my case HTC Sensation) but, that's about it. If I want to change an artist or song or whatever I have to do it from my phone. I thought it would have this to make me a safer driver so I don't have to look/mess with my phone to get new songs, guess that's what I get for assuming?
-Auto screen Dimmer doesn't work or isn't that great cause I still have to manually dim the screen at night.
-Resistive touchscreen I gotta hammer the screen to push buttons. Each push takes my attention away from the road, no bueno!
-Wifi doesn't support WEP or WPA no biggie since I'm driving and I don't think hackers do drive by hackings (or do they?). But, still sucks cause when I use it at the airport I have to turn it back on. Just a nuisance but, wifi WILL tether (provided you buy the additional USB Wifi Adapter).
-Some Apps don't recognize my wifi connection and thus will not work. Case in point, Google Maps. wft! the whole reason I got the thing was to wifi tether with my phone and control goolge maps from ca-fi. Nope can't do it. booo.
-Double DIN – not really. I don’t know what standards they followed but, my original brackets from my original Double DIN HU (head unit) didn’t work. The unit sticks out so far my radio door won’t close and there’s a gap of about .25 inches on both sides. No install kits will work with this because it’s not truly a standard Double DIN.
The Good
-The bluetooth phone capabilities work good. Contact list is ok. Of course it sucks for me because of the whole P.CNTRL thing. Yes, when I switch to Phone it turns off and on my amps…grrr.
-Mini SD card slots and a miniUSB port in front, very nice/convenient.
-System isn’t as slow as one might think for such a “slow” processor. My HTC Sensation runs circles around this thing ;p.
-Nice interface for the radio.
-You can run Apps. Although a lot of them crash (i.e. Force Close) every now and then for no apparent reason.
-Pandora works (with wifi tether) very nicely.
-Push button (knob) for mute and knob volume control.
….that’s all I’ve got for now but, so far the goods don’t out weight the bads so, I’m not happy with regards to the amount of money I spent vs. what I’m getting vs. what actually works. I’m not upset because I went into this fully knowing I was going to be a guinea pig but, if you’re a music first, apps and other **** second, kind of person like me steer clear my friends.
Not that any manufacture ever cares or even reacts to forum post, I’m going to try and communicate this to the manufacture and hopefully see if a) they’re aware of these issues and b)if they plan to release fixes/patches to help their “new adopters” out. Don’t get me wrong this company has a great product and great idea but, they’re seriously mistaken if they think they can compete with the big boys (Android Apps or no Android Apps).
What do jou Guys/girls think about this product....... http://www.chinavasion.com/2-din-ca...chable-android-23-tablet-panel-wifi-gps-dvbt/
I find it very interesting

[Q] Posibility of auto turn on Andriod when charger it's connected

I'm thinking in the possibility of use an Android tablet to develop an HMI interface to control electrical devices.
One of the problems it's that the devices could be long periods of time stored or simply off, so it will be needed to turn off the tablet via software when the device is Off.
The question if it's possible via an Android App/custom ROM/utilizing root/etc to force the Android device turn on when the charger it's connected?, an not enter with the typical battery charging screen.
Hopping that somebody can know the answer because I couldn't find something in the forums right now.
Well I am not sure but I think that you can find a custom rom that has that feature preloaded and you can develop on that platform.
Somebody known of an ROM that could have that funtionality, or somebody that develop an ROM if it could be possible to add that in android or the charging screen can't be hacked?
For the sake of completion, I have found that it's possible turn on an android device using adb, with the command:
Code:
./adb reboot
But that will imply to build the adb app in a microcontroller connected to the USB port. Certanly it will be more easy if it could be activated in a ROM but it may be impossible to do, somebody has information on that?

I have the same issue as the OP i need my tablet to come on when power is connected. (galaxy tab 2 (7) ) does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have been looking for a solution for very long. There still is no one who has guaranteed to invest time in this project. I have, however, come across a few android models which have same or similar features built in their ROM.
For example: Sony Ericsson X10 Mini does exactly what we are looking for. It turns on android OS when the charger is connected.
There are other generic android devices which perform a similar task. There is a feature in such devices namely "Schedule On/Off" which turns the phone on/off at a pre defined time of the day. A handful of devices that I have come across are Spice MI 270 and Micromax A60. There are a lot many such devices available in the market.
Do not forget to post the solution when u get one.

Do not forget to post the solution when u get one.

there was an app made by chainfire called Nomoarpowah that would boot the tablet when charging and you could touch the screen to turn on the device, i sent him a few messages over the last couple of months but no reply and it looks like he's stopped development on it.
so there is a way, i don't have the knowledge to do it myself though.
In Android 4.2 the feature is already there
Press Thanks On Getting Helped

Also very, very, very interested in this feature for my Galaxy Tab 2 (P3100). Was possible to do a nasty hack with playlpm on my Galaxy Tab 1 but doesn't seem to work the same way on SGT2 with CM10.1.2

Review - Leelbox Q2 TV Box android 6.0/2G/8G/64Bits/Amlogic S905X

I noticed there weren't many posts on Leelboxes on XDA so I'll provide some quick input for anyone who may search for a review or want to ask questions.
Recently I bought a Q2 on Amazon and finally set it up last night.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N63M03X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Opening the box/contents
-The box had some wear on it but overall in decent shape
+Comes with power cable, hdmi, remote (no batteries)
-The box had a fairly strong plastic/soldering smell and ins't very appealing visually
Setup
- Plugging in the power starts up the device so I had everything (HDMI, mouse/keyboard) already plugged in/No physical power button
++ Quick boot up and short animation screen
-/+ Decent launcher screen probably depends on preference
-/+ Needed to adjust the screen area down to 90% as it was displaying outside of my viewing area
- Remote sluggish
+ Wireless USB keyboard and mouse are plug and play
- Still haven't figured out how to turn off the on-screen keyboard as the settings menu is device specific
- Playstore and adding Google account FC'd the first time I opened it
Customizing
+++++ Installed SuperSu from Playstore and went through the "normal" non-recovery install process successfully!
+ Installed Leanback Launcher/Google TV v1.14 (newer versions FC) APK from APK mirror and home launcher switcher
++ Kodi and addons preinstalled and setup
-Google Now launcher has icon text issues (words are cut off)
+Installed hidden settings
Performance
+ 5ghz wifi running well
- Some UI lag/stuttering
- App install a little slower than hoped
- Device comes with a memory cleaner button on the provided launcher. Once mem usage hits 80%, stuttering gets annoying. Installed memory cleaner and still evaluating.
+ Video very smooth in Kodi and Youtube
More to come but hope this helps.
How is the leelbox Q2 running? Have you tried miracast with a Windows10 laptop? Looking for a device to primarily do this.

Still running well. Mainly use it for Kodi and YT. I found an older version of Nexus Player launcher that works (except suggestions) and looks better than stock.
One complaint I do have, I couldn't get any emulators to recognize USB gamepads. If you want to do any of that, I'd stay away.
I haven't tried Miracast at all but I will if you're still interested. Let me know.
Hey there... I have a question for you. How's the video playback on your box?? I really this box, especially since it has Bluetooth and there is hardly any lag, however, I have had bad luck with it from the get-go. My video playback is horrible! The screen flickers and goes really dark when the scene is shot at night or it's indoors. Sometimes my tv goes black and if it weren't for the captioning, you'd think it's just off. Then the image perks up when the scene is outside or a really bright shot. It really does a number on my eyes as it's a constant thing. I did reach out to their customer service and they have been responsive and sent over instructions to try and fix this, but that hasn't worked. I even got the box replaced, but the issue persists. I'm thinking maybe it's a setting at this point. Would you happen to know if there is a fix to this or is there anything you would suggest? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Kodi seems a bit darker so I have an display setting on my TV that I toggle to vibrant and its much better. HBO Go feels the same. Other than those though, Youtube and Netflix are fine.
Any chance your HDMI cable is bad?

I haven't tried flashing a new rom for this device yet so I may not be the best to help you. But from what I've read, the USB burning tool is your best bet. From experience, it may be a good idea to try flashing with another computer. Also, re-download the imgs.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply, but I have changed HDMI cables twice and changed ports on the TV. Also, I have used an older TV I have with this box and it just doesn't work. The video just bounces from light to dark when on Netflix or streaming any other type of video including YouTube. I have attempted to play with any settings on the box but nothing changes. Kinda bummed, oh well right?

I read something in another thread where the person created a new ROM for devices LIKE ours. I believe some have used it but can't say if it works. Seems your issue is common:

Hi,
In product description it said this is dual wifi enabled (2.4 and 5Ghz) box. So I installed internet wifi router with 2.4 and 5GHz possibility, and Q2 Pro box pick up just 2.4Ghz signal.
Then I turned off manually 2.4GHz possibility in router and Q2 Pro box didn't see any wifi network, while my LCD and PS4 was connected on 5GHz without problem.
So, my question is, how to enable receiving 5Ghz wifi signal on Q2 Pro box?
Thank you
I've been having some trouble rooting the Q2 Mini Leelbox, wondering is that a different model than the Q2? i am also having an issue changing the default home launcher on my box, it seems like the Zonglauncher that is installed on it wants to be the only proprietary launcher option an because i cant gain root, I can't run effin system app deletion.
I figured kingroot would do it, but it has not been of any help so far. Shoot I've googled Root Leelbox Q2 mini and pretty much theres nothing out there. must not be a very popular box. now that i noticed it is rockchip, i'm a little disappointed with it, might even return it, but it does have 2G/8G for only 43 Dollars on amazon.
did anyone install recovery twrp and Magisk?

It must be a different version. If I recall correctly, I didn't have to install anything to get root. I just ran a root checker and confirmed I was good to go.
I also was able to install any launcher I wanted. But in the end, their launcher was good enough for the apps I use (Kodi, Netflix, HBO Go, Youtube).

No. I don't think there is a TWRP version for this device.
I ended up shipping it back for a refund. Really was quite a pos if I ever did see one. Made me pretty angry tbh, it was a rockchip anyways I mean it did have 2g/8g but certainly performed worse than some 1g/8gs ice bought in the past.
i have the mini
*works fine ..no lag or stuttering
*only problem is weak wifi with no 5ghz support
#im looking for info regarding using a d'link wifi dongle with it to boost wifi
to everyone this box is prerooted
install any app and if it requests root it will be given root automatically without even a toast message
you can enter recovery and factory reset or flash updates or even flash update zips by inserting a needle / pin / toothpick into the headphone jack amd pushing down at which point you will feel the button click...keep the button in then pull out the power cord and put it back in and it will boot to recovery ...you can rename supersu as update.zip amd flash it from sd card to replace root or get root management apk installed ..you can also install supersu apk directly from playstore
you can enable developer settings by usual means by pressing on version number in settings/about
i am looking into solving wifi problem first ...then i will try to flash custom images
my first workaround is to boot Ubuntu from sd card and install opemelec or omc or similar
*reason is amazon prime video fails playback in both apk or browser
*netflix is working fine through apk
*kodi is running smoothly
by installing linux through sd card i will try to get better wifi by wifi dongle and then by getting playback working for amazon video ..if i succeed i will create a thread and a post a link and proceed from there ..i think we might be able to port or flash some other custom firmware too ...i will try it after Ubuntu....
hello
i just buy a leelbox q4 plus and i searsh in the net for root this android tv box but i dont found , it s this box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7MFR5L/ref=emc_b_5_t
maybe it s not possible but if it s possible maybe you help me for that thank for advance

Automatic GPS-Logging for Car-Tracking

Hi out there,
i have found an old, lovely Ace in my desktop and had the idea to create an automatic positioning device for tracking my car.
So its easy for me to see, where my car parks and which streets i have used recently (gpx-files).
I use CM11 (to most actual rom without GApps i've found), without the GApps (unnecessarily slows down the poor phone).
I've using the "GPSLogger for Android".
You can set this apk to "logging right away from boot", perfect for my case.
BUT, i have two problems detected:
1. Autoboot while charging
The phone stays in the vehicle the whole time. The usbport charges the phone just in case the engine is running. So i need the phone to autoboot, when charging.
Did everybody knows how to do this?
2. Sending when reach an free wifi
For the moment, i don't want to use a simcard. The idea is to send the last gpx-file when reaching a free wifi to dropbox/email or something else.
Did everyone knows an app to doing this?
Searching for an open network (via ping a special address or so) and than send one special file from an directory?
Thanks in advance,
Minfred
i love the idea any news about it ????
