SOLVED: Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A Google Account FRP Bypass Removal HELP!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking to remove the Google account from a Samsung Galaxy Express 3 for AT&T. The phone has Marshmallow 6.0.1 . The FRP is on download mode. I already tried modem flash but the phone is still asking for the account. I also tried a couple bypass methods but the security patch does not allow any internet access. I also tried the universal RootJunky FRP Bypass method. I am stuck at after the Realterm makes the phone dialer pop up, the phone does not give me the "Scan Business Card" option to proceed with the bypass process. Any ideas guys?

Update, Hey guys, I found the solution for this problem. Here is the step by step proccess:
01. You need to download the "RealTerm" program and install it in your computer (Thanks Root Junky for the links) : http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/?dir=Apps/FRP.
02. Go to phone. You need to have a SIM in your phone for this process to work for the ORIGINAL CARRIER of the phone.
03. Go to your setup screen and connect to WIFI.
05. Using a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer. Make sure that your computer is reconizing your phone by instaling the last Samsung drivers available (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads)
06. Once the phone is reconized by the computer and USB connected, we need to find out in what USB port your phone is connected to. To do that, you need to go you "Device Manager" in your computer. Click on "Modems". Then click on "SAMSUNG Mobile USB". On that screen, open the "Modem Tab". The first thing that you will find is: "PORT: COM09" (COM09 is in example, your phone could be connected to another port like COM41, COM39, and so on).
07. Now that we know our USB port number, open your RealTerm program. In the Realterm "Display" tab, make sure to check the "HALF DUPLEX" box.
08. Then, click on the "PORT" tab. Now, here we are going to enter the port number that our phone is without the COM in the Port box (For Example, COM43 = 43). The click on the "OPEN" button next to it.
09. Go to the "SEND" tab. In the first box, type the following command: at+creg?\r\n and click on "SEND NUMBERS"
10. Then, in the same box, type: atd1234;\r\n and also click "SEND NUMBERS". At this step, you need to look at the phone screen because the dealer is going to try to dial "1234". If not, keep sending the atd1234;\r\n commands.
11. When the dialer shows up, end the call and immediately click on the "MESSAGE" button. The phone is going to go to SMS to send a message to the "1234" number that the phone tried to dial. Send this 1234 number "YOUTUBE.COM" message. Send it. After the message is sent to this number, the words "Youtube.com" would became a blue internet link, click on it. The browser is going to go to Youtube. After you are in YouTube, click on the 3 dots at the upper right hand side of the screen. Click on "Settings", then click "About", then "GOOGLE Privacy Policy". the phone will ask you to choose an internet browser. Use the "Internet Browser"
12. When you are in the browser, again go to " http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/?dir=Apps/FRP " (Thanks Root Junky for the Links) and download "com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk".
13. Then, go on Google.com and search for "Samsung App Store" : http://www.samsung.com/levant/apps/mobile/galaxyapps/ . Click on the "App Store" button. The Samsung is going to open and ask you to sign in. You would have to either create an account or use your existing Samsung account. Do not worry, you would get to remove it later.
14. Once you are at the Samsung account, search for "ES FILE Explorer" and install it in your phone. Once, it is installed, open the app. The app will allow you to go to the "Download" folder of your phone. There you will find the "com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk" that you previously downloaded. Open and Install the "com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk". The App will send you to the "Google Sign In" windows. DO NOT SING IN. Click on the three dots at the upper right hand side of the screen and click on "BROWSER SIGN IN". Then a new Google browser sign in screen will appear. Yes, you can Sign in there with your existing Google account (Again, do not worry, you can remove it later). Once you are signed in, you need to restart your phone.
15. Follow the setup instructions. The phone is not going to ask you for the Google account because you already entered.
16. Once at the home screen, click on 'Settings". Then go to "Accounts” and click on the "Samsung Account", click on "Remove Account". The phone is going to ask you for a confirmation to enter your password. Enter it and click on Remove. Go back and click on your "Google Account". Click on "Remove Account".
17. Go back to settings, and then click on "BACKUP AND RESET". Then click on "FACTORY DATA RESET". Then "RESET DEVICE". The phone will factory reset and the FRP will be removed.

FRP bypass sm-j120a
What worked for me was; once you send the AT command for the dialer via RealTerm, instead of adding contact, tap "send message". Then attempt to send an SMS with a hyperlink. E.g. google, com, then tap the link and a jailed(restricted) browser will open. Search or navigate your way to samsung,com/levant/mobile/galaxyapps. Then use the drop menu on site to install ES File Explorer... then it's all downhill from there, the privileges on the device should be escalated enough to continue with the final steps in installing the FRP bypass APK from SD card or web. Let me know if you're still hung up or need clarification on any of that. It took me hours to finally get around the f**n frp. Lol

Thank you for your help. I already had found the solution for this problem and never posted it. I already updated the thread. Thank you very much.

If you want to make it a little easier when you send a message, send a street address, then click it to open maps. At that point tap the mic button and you can open Internet to download the frpbypass file and you can just say "open my files" instead of downloading es file explorer.

I would suggest you to make sure that you have a compatible SIM card in the phone so that it makes the call.

Thank you for replying, so when you say compatible would that mean a sim from the company it was last activated on, or does it have to be an activated sim? One more question, why was I able to get the other phones to work just using an old sim, it wasn't an activated sim or from the carrier the phone was on!! Sorry for all the questions I just really want to figu this out, thanks again!!

As long as the SIM card is from the original carrier of the phone, it should work even though it is activated or not. That is what worked for me. I hope that it work for you too.

What worked for me was not clicking on "send numbers" but clicking on "send ASCII" after the at+creg/atd1234 commands.

Works perfect
For the Galaxy xpress 3, downgrade to 6.0.1 and do the process sending the ASCI not the number... :good:

[Q] Bricked after attempting to upgrade to 2.3.5... HELP PLEASE

Hello, I am a newbie Android user and I have been exploring the greatness of the OS for few days now.
Just now I tried to update my firmware to 2.3.5 and followed instruction from a non-xda developer site and little did I know, it messed up my phone big time.
While I was loading all the files (CSC, tar, modem, etc), and I should've known better when the site told me to check the "re partition" box, but I was stupid enough to go along with it.
So Odin got stuck at re-writing the modem or something like that and I had to pull out the battery from the phone.
Now the phone turns on only in recovery mode and none of the recovery choices work, if I choose one it just shows a little green android with white bordered triangle with an orange exclamation mark in the middle.
I can still access the download mode by using conventional button pressing method, but my phone is NO LONGER RECOGNIZED through the USB so I cannot flash the old stock firmware...
Is there a fix for this? If anyone can help me resolve this issue I am willing to compensate very well in return...
Thank you so much for reading my convoluted troubled story, and I really hope to find some resolution in your wisdom.
If u can't reflash your farmware
Than their is only one option left
give it to the Samsung service center they will repair your phone

I'd be down to do so but it will be hard as I have 4 custom binary flash counter... What can I do as of now?
i dont know if this helps you out buddy but maybe if you read in this thread you might find people that had the same trouble as you..just try and search the thread first and if nothing comes up try and read the first page maybe there you might get an idea on how to unbrick the phone

Thank you.. But I unfortunately did not follow the instructions that is written there I used an external source which told me to check "re partition" which completely messed up the phone, I think. Thank you for your input, though.

Check this unbricker
android-roms.googlecode.com/files/DREAIMG-RC29.zip
Download DREAIMG-RC29.zip and unzip the file.
Reformat the SD card to FAT32 and copy the DREAIMG.nbh onto it.
Safely eject the SD card.
Put the SD card into your device.
Step 3: Wipe The Phone
Hold home and press the power button.
When you see the image of an ! mark, open your keyboard and press Alt + L if you cannot see any command options.
Do a factory reset by pressing Alt + W or just using the trackball.
When the reset is done, go ahead and hold the camera button and select the reboot system now option with your trackball.
Step 4: Flashing The Phone
Once the grey screen pops up (or the white screen if your phone was rooted with JesusFreke) it will ask you to hit a button to start installing the image…press that button. DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO STOP THIS PROCCESS. It will take about 8-12 minutes.
When the image has completed the installation (it will say completed), go ahead and press the green, red, and menu buttons at the same time. The phone will reboot.
And your done! Your phone is now unbricked!.
If this helps u buy me a HTC sensation.

Ah I see. Could you please help me understand what you mean by "open keyboard?" I just don't see how I could open keyboard on my SGS2 when it isn't recognized by my computer... If you could clarify what you mean by that it will be really appreciated!
So from your information provided, you have a stock recovery and your phone is semi-bricked. You can still boot and your computer won't recognize your phone.
Do you have a jig? What firmware did you flash? You could use a jig to reset the flash counter on the phone and return it for warranty saying that Kies messed up while upgrading firmware. If you've flashed the KI3 with the new bootloader then the jig won't be able to clear the flash counter.
EDIT: Maybe an experienced senior member might come and look at this thread and provide some other solution. Do wait!
EDIT2: Try reinstalling Kies and the drivers. Don't give up just yet!

I don't think that the guide he posted is particularly for galaxy s2 because he also mentioned a trackball...
but if you can go the settings he mentioned you might find something and lead you.
And if you decide to bring the phone to samsung you might want to have a read at Intratechs Official firmware
thread in (Original Android Development)there you can find a bootloader that you can flash so you can use the jig to reset the counter
edit: wow I also failed to read that your computer can't recognise your phone
anymore....
Have you tried to delete the samsung drivers when you go to
your hardware settings?? and let windows find it's drivers again?
Not sure if this will help. I read somewhere someone else with their PC not really recognizing the phone. Someone else advised to unplug the phone and remove the battery then connect to PC insert battery and put it into download mode.
I could be wrong with the method. Its just from my memory.
Also this may make no difference but maybe removing the sim and SD card. Someone will probably call me stupid for suggesting that though.
I wouldn't try that unbrick method mate. That looks like it is an unroot for an old phone..possible the G1 (AKA HTC Dream).
Thanks for all the help... I have been trying to uninstall the driver and reinstall it but no luck. If I could just get the phone to be recognized I think I will be fine, but I just don't know what to do
Thank you for all the suggestions, please keep them coming!
EDIT: this is the guide I used that messed up my phone.. http://androidflip.com/install-andr...-samsung-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100-installing-guide/
EDIT: Tried to reinstall KIES, no luck. It's like there's nothing on the other side of the USB cord... Not even a sound when I plug the phone in...
If it had been via XDA the instructions are do not do what they are saying .
In Odin Select Re-Partition , Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time
In Odin select these files
For PIT select u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit
BIG BIG NO to the above .
As usual some stuff ripped from XDA and some from elsewhere .
My suggestion would be one buy USB jig it hopefully will clear the rom counter and enter download mode .
two in recovery mode go to mounts and storage and format cache data dalvik system and sd card .
Clean phone with nothing on it .Flash stock firmware .

If PC does not now recognise phone either try another PC or return phone to service centre and say it failed on a Kies upgrade .

Thanks, I tried to do this but unfortunately the problem persists... What do you think the root of the problem is? I just dont' get it why it won't be recognized anymore.. I feel like I could easily get it to work if I could just get it to become recognized to flash stock firmware....
EDIT: JJE, I would turn it into the service place but I have custom rom count of 4 And I don't have any USB jigs to work with either.... I am still within the 15 days of the phone purchase day, would they be willing to swap my phone?
BUMP, any input would be appreciated...

Help Needed UN-Root Evo 3D

Ok So this weekend i got a EVO 3D new from some dude got a really good deal on it its clean esn and its for sprint, so what i noticed is that it is rooted not a big deal but the main issue i have here is i cant get rid of his EMAIL its the main email on the app market so i can even get into the market to down load anything.,
Its rooted by abd Hboot1.5 Relocked all ready ive tried un rooting it my self and i seem to have got it but on my cmd promt it says waiting for device and on the Ruu file is says cable not dected ive tried 4 different usb slots and 3 cables. i know its not the cable because it works when im using it to put songs and pictures on my phone...
If there is any way i can get rid of the email and keep the root that would be awsome if not i want to un root it.. any suggestions or advice?
You can just do a factory reset to reset his main Gmail username and password. However, if it's not connecting via a usb cable, it's likely he sold you a phone with a bad usb port.
Here is what I'd do, If your cool with it.
Here is what I'd do, If your cool with it:
1. Boot up into HBOOT. (Turn off phone, take out battery, put back in, then hold volume + power until a white screen comes up.)
2. Scroll down with the volume buttons to FACTORY RESET Then press the power button.
3. The phone should reset and you should come back to a clean phone. THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON THE PHONE
If you don't wish to do this, I have another method that will involve unlocking the boot loader (WIPES DATA) then flashing TWRP and wiping the data portion of the phone.

It may give an error, but it is worth a try. Sorry for the overcomplicated old response... got a bit carried away.

Go into Settings and Accounts; you should be able to remove the Google Account there, which should remove his GMail. Other than that, removing all the data from the GMail app in Settings and Applications should do the trick too.

have you installed the adb and fastboot drivers?
if not install them and follow the steps
Turn on USB debugging from settings >applications > development..... then adb should detect your phone and you should be able to run RUU also......
or boot into bootloader , select fastboot , connect to pc , phone should say fastboot-usb , then run RUU.....

5. search for Gmail or whatever other E-Mail app the guy uses.
6. If the application comes up, tap it.
7. Tap Force Stop. Then tap clear data. Then tap uninstall updates or the button may say Uninstall.
8. Go back into accounts and try to remove the account, but first open the email app and check if the email account is still there.
Hope this works.

[Q] Stock Verizon S4, unable to unlock w/PIN

I am in SO much trouble with the Wife....
Bought the Wife an S5, and pulled her SD card from the S4, and was going to backup files and contacts but entered the WRONG swipe pattern 3 times (I was using mine), and now it's asking for a PIN.
She hasn't set one that she recalls. We log into Google and do the LOCK, reset PIN to 1234 and the phone STILL sez it's the wrong PIN.
The only info I can give is it appears to be on 4.4.2 I think, recovery mode reports
Android System Recovery <3e>
KOT49H.I545VRUFNG6
I tried Aroma 1.8 and 1.9x to no avail, fails E-Signature. Is there any help to be had without destroying user data on the phone?
I don't mind donating either to whoever helps me!

Install ADB on your PC, just Google how to, then plug into PC and use the command "ADB Pull /sdcard" to take a backup of the internal storage.

OK I have ADB & Fastboot installed. When I plug the phone into the pc though it comes up as a drive in my tree, but no files, there isn't any real tree on it. When I run your command from CMD Prompt it says ERROR: Device not found
What now?

Try "Adb devices" if nothing shows up, that is unfortunate....
This next way /SHOULD/ work, no promises though , I used this method to get from VRUFNG6 to VRUFNC5 after accidentally deleting some system files, your ideal solution is an NG6 No-Wipe TAR, because it would restore your /system, partition (and passcode) but keep user data, but no such TAR exists... so the easiest way would be to use the No-Wipe NC5 tar, then re-upgrade to NG6 via the settings app (OTA)
Download the No-Wipe, MAKE SURE ITS THE NO WIPE NC5 tar in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735172 , and follow the instructions to flash it. (i.e. load the .tar.md5 file into ODIN's AP Slot)
When you reboot, you may be greeted by some apps force closing... all you have to do is uninstall them and reinstall those apps from the Play store. After you reinstall those, reboot again and take the NG6 update through settings. Then you will be at NG6 w/o a passcode and your user data will be preserved.
Good Luck man. Hope your wife doesn't kill you.

NOLEN-
It's WORSE THAN DEATH brother. She broke out the River of Tears on me dude.
Having said that, when I took Programming Pascal was the hip thing and C was the new kid on the block. However I have spent a lifetime building DWDM optical networks, so I'm at least a technoid. I'll read up on the ODIN...
EDIT:
1- Do I have to reinstall the APPS that may need to be? All I'm after are the pics and msg downloads and then I can toss it!
2- Once this procedure/upload is complete and reboot takes place, the is then on it's original release with no security?
DOUBLE EDIT:
What a schmuck....I found the flash instructions....
Heres a cookie for your help too...

1. Just use the no wipe TAR file in the AP Slot in Odin, don't fill any other slots, only check the boxes that are pre-checked when ODIN starts. Then Reboot into download mode by shutting the phone down, then hold volume down and power to boot into download mode, select continue with the volume up button when prompted. Plug into your PC and click Start.
2. Well, maybe. If the force close is not a constant one (like it was for me, Nova launcher constantly crashed), then you should be good.
3. Well, the /system partition is restored. Your data is still present. What do you mean by Security? Also, if when you want to sell the S4, you want to Wipe to factory defaults, just use the Full-Wipe in ODIN.
4. Thanks man!!! I really appreciate it!
In response to your Double Edit: Haha. Not your fault, It took me a few reads through to understand half the stuff Ive learned here XD

Oh. My bad, I forgot to include the step to install the Samsung mobile USB Driver here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
Try again after that.
If not, try a diff. USB Port (preferably 2.0), for some reason, I have one USB on my laptop that actually gets along with ODIN. XD
Edit: are you using ODIN 3.09? I know that 3.07 has issues with Kitkat.

Well, if it doesn't install, just use the Google Generic Phone driver, just Google it.
Then plug into a different port on your computer (not a USB hub) and also make sure its a nicer (preferably Samsung) cable, then try flashing again.

Did you get this sorted? Is user data all you need off the phone? Contact/call logs/text messages...etc? Also, why did you not just pull the battery once it asked for a pin to get back to whatever form of security was set previous? When you set up your security, it asks for a pin so she would have had to enter one.

This is the screen I get when I incorrectly enter my swipe pattern. Stock/rooted. I'm thinking if they went with "forgot pattern" (which I'm not sure why the would), then they would have needed to enter email/password info to have the pattern image emailed to them. You cannot get to a point on an S4 (to my knowledge) where the security will overwrite the preferred and selected security (swipe in this case) for something else. Unless they selected "backup pin" and you get almost unlimited tries then and even still, once the 30 second lockout is over, security just goes back to whatever is set (swipe in this case). The question in the OP kind of does not make sense to me but if he's been flashing firmware, the security lock is not really his problem anymore if he still wants his user data....Unless I'm completely off base here.
[Edit] Her work requiring a pin if she gets company email to her phone just clicked. Lol. She would have had to set all that up through work though and definitely would've needed to select a pin number but that would all be done through work so changing the passcode through Google would do nothing anyway...

OK, so this is my WIFE we're talking about here; as far as she's concerned, it's Magic we're discussing here
She had Backup setup, so she got her contacts but the messages and photos that weren't stored on the SD card are what she's looking for. The pics her Sisters in Peru sent her over WhatsApp, downloads and SMS.
Thanks to everyone for pitching in. Not sure why it went to the PIN request, or what that PIN is but it does warn that after 10 attempts it'll wipe the device...but if I go to Google and do a LOCK command and change pin there, it resets the number of attempts to zero. SO. THEORETICALLY speaking I could enter 0000-9999 and see which one works but that may take a few years ....

Uh. It shouldnt be locked. The phone should be in download mode. Have you been putting it in download mode?
OK so it TOOK the NC5 downgrade, but now it's at the "enter PIN" screen again. It HAD been in a boot loop with "android.process.acore" has stopped. Now it seems stable, it's not rebooting anyway.

Google Sync Problem on S4 SCH-1545

I have had my S4 SCH-1545 for a few months now, and it has been working just fine, but a few days ago, all of my apps from Google stopped working. None of them were able to access the internet. This has been going on for about 3 days now. I have tried it on a few different Wi-Fi networks, and I have used my data, but it won't work on any of those. I got Google Play to work my force stopping that app and Google Play Services, and resetting their cache, so I tried that with the other apps, but they don't work. That method only worked for Google Play. I tried doing the same thing with YouTube right after that, and it didn't work, so I tried wiping the data of YouTube, and I am able to watch videos now, but it won't let me sign in. I can't check my email on my phone either, because of this. I have restarted my phone multiple times.
Is there any way to fix this? I have been trying to fix it for the last 3 days, and I have read that factory resetting doesn't work. I really appreciate the help.
I rooted my phone with Kingroot when I first got the phone and just recently swapped that with SuperSu. I am not using a rom.

So basically, here are your instructions.
You are going to need to re-flash stock but this will make you loose root.
The following instructions are Windows only. You can use a virtual machine for downloading but you can't for flashing. There are other ways to flash though that aren't on Windows. There is no good alternative to SamFirm for non-Windows operating systems.
First off we need to download the stuff. Now first let's download the downloader that downloads the stock firmware. It uses Samsung's SmartSwitch servers to get the signed image. It's called SamFirm and you can download it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462
Also make sure you have 2008 Redistributable and 2010 Redistributable packages installed. Now we just need to download Odin, since it's a leaked program you can get a trusted version here.
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/Odin_3.10.7.zip
Extract the SamFirm zip and open SamFirm.exe. You will see multiple options. In "Model" put in "SCH-I545" and in region put "VZW". Check "Auto" (Manual should be unchecked) and leave the next 3 fields blank. Also make sure "Binary Nature" is unchecked. On the right side select "Check CRC32" and "Decrypt automatically". Now you can click "Check Update". After a few moments it should find the firmware and the "Download" button should be now clickable. Click it and save the firmware. Let it go through the 3 steps (Downloading, Checking CRC32, and Decrypting). Once it's done you can close SamFirm. Extract the zip that you downloaded with SamFirm. You should have a file with the extension .tar.md5. Do not modify this file.
Take the Odin folder out of the Odin zip. Pull the battery on the device and reinsert it. Hold Volume Down + Home + Power until you see download mode. Accept any warnings. Plug the device in and open Odin. It should say "Added!" in the log and have a blue COM thing near the top. If it doesn't, you may need to configure drivers. Go into the options tab and make sure "F. Reset Time" and "Auto Reboot" are checked. Also check the checkbox next to the "AP" button. Click the AP button and select the .tar.md5 file from earlier. Let it do its checks (Don't touch anything while it does that) and then click "Start". It should flash and then reboot once done. It should then boot into the stock ROM. Please note first boot can take a while. If it takes more than 30 minutes, go into stock recovery by pulling the battery --> Reinserting it --> Holding Volume Up + Home + Power and run a factory reset function using the on screen instructions. Then reboot and try again.

Stuck on Unlock Bootloader - Google password

I am trying to upgrade my TF201. I am using the Asus_Transformer_Prime_TF201_ROM_update doc. I have downloaded the Unlock_Device_App_V6.apk and installed it.
When I click to run the app I get a message window with my gmail account username and requesting my password. I have entered this password several times but the message just comes back with the password section blank.
I followed the instructions in the upgrade doc and signed in to my Google account and set the 'Disable access for less secure apps' to ON.
I am stuck at this point so I hope someone can help me.
I apologise if this is the wrong section for this question - new to all of this.
I think you have to remove/delete the account. Then unlock.

Thanks NP. I removed the account for my tablet from my google account but it made no difference. I still get the google account verification window requiring my google password to unlock the tablet.
I know the password is correct as I used it to sign in to my account from my laptop.
Do I need to remove Google from the Accounts section on my tablet?

Thanks NP. I finally followed advise on a post you directed me to. I did a factory reset with no Google account.
I have downloaded motochopper but each time I try to unzip it I get a message "File Manager has stopped working". Even tried putting the file on my SD card and unzipping from there.
I see from your comment that you did the root first then the unlock. I ran the unlocker first. Is that wrong?
Appreciate your help.

Thanks NP
Laptop is Windows 10. I finally got motochopper unzipped. Ran the run.bat file and connected to tablet. After several tries have now got all the update files loaded in and my tablet is running on katkiss. However how do I lock my device, or do I need to?
You mean with a PIN or SWIPE screen lock?

My tablet shows 'unlocked' when I turn it on. It never used to before the update. Can I get it back to that state?

If it shows "This Device is Unlock" in the upper left when you turn it on, then you have an unlocked bootloader and I don't believe there is anyway
to return it to it's locked state.
NP
I had the same Google verification problems. I ended up formatting the tablet back to factory defaults, setting up the the tablet without registering a Google account, then running the unlocking APK, first thing. (First thing after enabling "allow unknown sources" - referring to 3rd party APKs, in the settings).
