I recently change my lcd screen without frame. Then I notice a membrane that leads to the microphone and at the top for the earpiece. On my point of view this is for waterproofing the phone. Since I open the phone and now have no intention to use the phone in water or any other liquid (rain). Will it be okay if I will remove this membrane on the earpiece and microphone at the bottom to improve the quality? Your thoughts?
Btw I am also checking if I can remove the membrane at the bottom speaker to improve its speaker.

When the phone first arrived I was able to make calls either with the top speaker or the back (loud) speaker. I have the phone now for a few weeks and suddenly the microphone doesn't work when I'm in speaker mode!
I can hear and talk when I'm not on speaker, but when I switch to the speaker mode I can hear the person on the other side of the line but he can't hear me (and I checked, the phone is not on mute).
What can be the cause of this problem?
Exactly the same situation. But in my case the reason was my own stupidity. Ones my atrix stuck due to some youtube app issues and the only way to restart it was to remove battery (there was no any reaction to buttons). I noticed little hole on rear side near fingerprint censor. I decided it was hole for unlocking rear panel. It was really stupid as it actually was mic which was used when you turn on speaker. So, I damaged it by pushing needle in the hole thinking that I was unlocking the rear panel.
I think in you case it is some hardware problem too and most likely you need to replace the rear mic.
Has anyone had the issue when they call or receive a call and the person on the other end says that it sounds like your very far away. Does anyone know how to solve this, which mic is used when using the phone, is it the lower or upper mic?

Regular calls use the lower mic, speakerphone uses upper mic.
This sounds like the rubber housing on the lower mic isn't seated properly, and may be actually partially blocking the mic. You can try opening up the phone yourself and re-seating the housing... or if you are squeamish about these things, take it to a service center and have a tech do it for you.
Thanks i think it might be something with my lower mic, the case does have space around the mic its a NGP Ultra capsule. Tempted to make it a little larger or it might be i have clocked my phone too low when in call. speaker phone is perfect

I was talking about a rubber housing on the mic that is internal to the phone. Meaning to check this out, you would have to actually unscrew the housing and open the phone.
But since you have a case on, it is worth testing without the case to see if the mic quality on regular calls improves. If so, maybe the case is partially blocking the lower mic. But if you can already see the entire lower mic hole with the case ON, then this is unlikely to be your problem, and you may need to have the phone opened up to re-seat the internal mic housing.
I am going to test NR off if that does not resolve it i will take the case to bits and try the card trick

I've read that when XTZ speakers get wet makes them muffled, which s normal if there is water in the holes.
But there is something strange I observe. When I get my XTZ-3G wet, one speaker is muffled, but the right one is complete OFF - no sound whatsoever from it. And when the speaker is halfway dry it works, but I observe a buzzing sound coming from it with the music...
This is not observed with the right speaker. And when tablet is dry - 30min later speakers sound OK.
Is it possible to be defective, etc to get water damaged?
I checked the ports and they stay dry, indicators are not visible .

Officially you should wait at least 3 hours for the speakers to dry, but my own experience is in line with yours, 30+minutes. For me, the right speaker was clogged badly too but I assumed it was because the Right speaker was submerged longer. It played sound, but very muffled and distorted. I'd recommend doing as Sony says and avoiding use of the speakers till dry if you want to avoid damage.
I dropped my phone, and it only dinged the corner of my device. No major scratches, and the screen is still perfect (no cracks).
BUT... my microphone, speakerphone, and earpiece stopped working. All at once, and all at the same time. Has this happened to anyone else?
When speaker phone is activated sound only comes out of the bottom speaker. Is possible to cconfigureit some how so it comes out the top?
I am hard of hearing so it makes it challenging when it is only the bottom speaker. I previously had a OnePlus 7 and the sound came out of the top and bottom.
Any ideas?

To prevent auditory shock and hearing damage, the upper speaker is disabled for speakerphone calls if the Proximity sensor is blocked. If you are not holding the phone to your ear, remove anything that may be blocking the sensors at the top of the phone.
