[Guide] How to add call recording feature on Samsung J7 2016 MM - Samsung Galaxy J7 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Oth

This is how you can add call recording mod to your samsung J7 2016:
Notice: u must have root
and I'm not responsible if your device gets bricked
Steps:
Edited:
1.) Open the file explorer (ES or Root File explorer preferred) and Go to the directory Root/system/CSC folder and backup others.xml file if its required (you will be working on others.xml file)
2.) Open others.xml file with text editor of your file manager and add the below line
Code:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
(add that line just below this tag : <FeatureSet> to avoid any confusions if u r new)
3.) Save it and close
4.) Set permissions to rw-r-r.
Otherwise you may face boot loops. (check the attached screenshot to see how it should look like while setting permissions in root explorer)
4.) Reboot and enjoy

bro u cn just root and add the below line in CSC file and set properties n reboot
Code:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
this is the easiest method, also rooting is very easy
if not then use a third party app from playstore

vote added or not?

yes others.xml includes VoLTE functioning on the device
if ur ROM is already suppoting VoLTE, u can just edit & then add that code manually (no flash) in others.xml file [READ THE EDIT PART IN ORIGINAL POST]
u will still enjoy VoLTE because you are not deleting any other codes from that file, hope this helps

why wud u like to disable VoLTE if its there in your region,
anyways i dont know which codes to delete,
read the codes u will understand, or compare the code with any other others.xml file from a ROM of a different region that do nt hv VoLTE
(if u really wanto disable then i hav an others.xml.zip just flash it an u will lose volte)

<CscFeature_IMS_EnableVoLTE> (Did make this line false in others.xml earlier but didn't work)
<CscFeature_RIL_SupportVolte>
<CscFeature_RIL_SupportVolteVtCall>

No idea. I was just curious on how to disable it since there's no additional option for it in settings or somewhere than I saw ur post mentioning changing call related feature. (For call recording XTouchWiz module can be used btw)
I guess I'd add those lines I mentioned like <CscFeature_IMS_EnableVoLTE>TRUE</CscFeature_IMS_EnableVoLTE> in the XML. (1st one in both, 2nd 3rd in others xml). Don't know if it will work or what'll happen.

Can I follow the same for j700F??

Is it work on aosp roms like lineageos 7.1.1?

Bro after enabling this call record feature I have lost 3g/4g network. Whenever I switch to 3/4g networks it shows "no service". Do you have any idea regarding this issue? I have rooted my phone recently and wanted to enable this feature and done exactlt as explained but I am facing this problem though I could still surf or talk in 2g network alone. Please if anyone of you has an idea regarding this issue, I be glad enough to your aid. Asap.... Samsung Galaxy J7000F Indian Variant. Thank You

Mediapad X1 build.prop values

Hi all,
Thanks to a forum member on my home forum, who found some information from the Russian 4PDA forum, I would like to post the findings here for English speaking users.
NOTE: THIS IS MEANT FOR 501L devices with B002 or B003 ROMS, as they do not have many features from the 501u and 503L devices
I currently have a 7D-501L from Malaysia (updated to Western Europe B003 ROM) and have successfully tested the following:
You may first need to rename the file "setimmutable.list" to something else otherwise build.prop changes may not be permanent.
/system/build.prop
On Gloves - mode
Append: ro.config.hw_glovemode_enabled = 1
On muting the shutter sound option in the camera
Append: ro.hwcamera.sound.muteable = true
This setting needs to be changed at /data/cust/prop/local.prop
When saving, the charset needs to be set to GBK otherwise you will brick your phone.
#ro.config.ShowNavigationBar=true <=add "#" to comment out the original line, then add the 2 lines below.
ro.config.hw_shownavisettings=true
ro.config.hw_navigationbar=true
Link to the post on my home forum:

I have also managed to install Xposed framework successfully and GravityBox is working fine.

Hi, these settings are not available in version B002 for the 501L which is why we have to do it manually

You need to rename the file setimmutable.list to something else.
Then change the properties of build.prop and local.prop to -rwrwrwx- or 777 using some root-aware file explorer.
Make the changes with a text editor, remembering to save it in the same Encoding as the original.
Then revert the properties back to -rw-r-rx- or something, I can't recall, but you can see it from the file explorer. I use Solid Explorer which is awfully handy.

Yes you MUST be rooted to install Xposed.
I installed Dimensions Editor and Play Permissions. Both work nicely.
The navbar and app titlebards are much smaller now and I don't even need to hide the navbar much.

MOD - Enable Call Recording on S5 Lollipop ( only S5 International)

Hello guys, this morning I changed the file contents in /Root/System/Csc/Others.xml and added the ability to enable CallRecording in Rom Stock Android 5.0.
Need to have a Stock Rom with Root, a File Manager go to System / CSC and rename the file in Others.xml Others.xml.old, then copy the file attached here and change permissions in RW-RR, restart. On restart you will magically enabled CallRecording.
It works perfectly!
I am not responsible for any changes that you will make in your device.
See you soon ..... Appearance some developer to update Xposed framework compatible with Lollipop .... Thanks
And how does this feature works? I mean there will be a new button or so in the caller?
Thanks!

MOD - Enabling Call Recording on Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500
I tried the same thing with my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 on Stock ROM 5.0.1 with firmware [I9500XXUHOA7_I9500SERHOA7_SER]
I used the following method
1. Browsed to root/System/CSC and copied the others.xml file to my PC
2. Modified the file with <CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
3. Saved the file and copied it back to the root/System/CSC folder using ES Root Explorer.
4. Restarted and voila...
Hope it works for you all. I have attached the file for your reference. Extract the file using WinRAR.
NOTE:
1. You must take a backup of Others.xml if any thing goes wrong.
2. I am not responsible for any changes that you will make in your device.

Yes indeed. However, in order to access the file(others.xml) ROOT access is required. So the phone must be ROOTed.
In order to gain something(CALL RECORDING) we have to sacrifice phone warranty. But dont worry. If you get into warranty issues then prior to claiming your warranty, you can used ODIN to restore to stock firmware.

Gr8. But would be nice if you share as to how and using what you implemented the non-tripping method.
If you can share the steps, then I would gladly include your steps and modify the others.xml accordingly.

I don't know if you understanded me, I meant a ROOT method without tripping Knox, I don't know a way of applying this mod without root... But anyway, to root without tripping knox:
Well for KitKat the easiest method is to downgrade to an old 4.4.2 firmware and root with towelroot which doesn't trips knox, then if you want to stay in KK, you can flash a newer version of it through Mobile Odin Pro, using the "keep root" option, which also won't trip knox...
And if you want to install stock lollipop rooted without tripping knox you have to flash @_alexndr Lollipop DevBase from a rooted KitKat rom with Mobile Odin Pro too...
Obviously you can't flash any custom recoveries on it because this will definitely trip knox.
I'll leave links regarding this procedures...

[root] [enable calling feature on whatsapp]

for rooted LOLLIPOP devices just use this:
STEPS:-
1- Install the latest apk
2- Open any root explorer (es file explorer
preferred ) and navigate to /data/data/
com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/
com.whatsapp_preferences.xml
3- Add these 2 lines anywhere in the file but within
the <map></map> and save
<boolean name="call" value="true" />
<string name="call_allowed">all</string>
4- Then go to Settings/Apps/Whatsapp and force
stop it !
Open the app again
You have now enabled calls !!!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!
FOR THIS TO WORK BOTH PERSONS(SENDER ND
RECEIVER) SHOULD HVE THIS ENABLED AND U
HAVE TO ANSWER A CALL FROM SOMEONE WHO
HAS ACTIVATED THIS. ITS LIKE INVITATION. GOOD

Enable voLTE in A7,A5,A3 (also 2016 models)

Your phone must be ROOTED and you have to replace some System files i provide. First delete the same folder and files in the System folder and Paste the New files . After reboot you will see the VoLTE icon in the status bar!Check the screen shots in the folder and give correct premmissions for pasted files in device/system folder.File link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/gdodnw79yvaiciq/Files.zip?dl=0
UPDATE : for people who facing difficulty to give permission check the screen shots and do like that no need to open CSC folder and give permissions one by one.
What are these files??

This will defenetly work. Delete csc folder,Cscversion.txt,SW_configuration.xml from device/System root directory and paste the given files there and give rwerere permission and tick do it for the subfolders permission for csc folder, rwrr permission for the other two files..after these Reboot the device while putting the 4g sim in slot 1 .
Will this work on A500F Android MM ksa variant?
Sure .Tested on A500
Awesome.
I've been trying to do that for quite some time.
I'm gonna try in the next days.
A310F here.
I did what you described, permissions set succesfully, but I have no option to set VOLTE in call settings..
Those settings looks like before.
Any way to give permission easily? Bcoz there are lots of files to five permission one by one, its hard to do.
