Bluetooth not working - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Good night, just bought my Z and it doesn't recognize any Bluetooth around and it restarts itself, was wondering if anyone has experienced this and how they fixed it, thanks

Sorry I can't help you but I can confirm that my new Z has the poorest connection via Bluetooth of any phone I have had. Usually takes several tries to connect to anything

The bluetooth went out on my Z-Force a month or so ago... I contacted Moto, and did the advanced replacement (worth every penny) since this was determined to be a hardware issue.
It sounds like you are experiencing the same issue I had with my phone. You should contact Moto support and get this squared away.

Thanks a lot and you were right, had to replace it.

RAZR bluetooth music issue

Hi,
I have the following problem with my Razr:
When i play the music over bluetooth it seems like i was using a old cd player without antiskip and hit him, is just a little jump but only happen on bluetooth, on headphones or speaker works great
Any idea of this issue? should i go a ask for warranty?
thanks
I get the same thing but it really seems to happen when I click something on the screen and the phone places the sound for clicking on an app or widget or something. Occasionally it'll happen randomly. Probably something that needs to get updated by Moto, I don't think it's anything wrong with your individual phone. Of course I have the Verizon Droid Razr but I'd imagine it's similar.

Yes i already went to my Cellphone dealer and that's what they told me, i'll wait until some fix get out.
A temporary solve for this issue is move all the music to the internal storage
Thanks for the help
I made more testing and it does not mater if you put the music on the internal or external memory the problem is the same we will need to wait for an update or custom rom without the problem
Thanks

I have the same issues using my Kenwood DNX5140. Sadly, My Atrix didn't suffer from this woe!
I am having this same problem on my car headunit. Thought it might be my sd card. Is anyone using the a 16gb card that this is happening with?

same on my mw600.... I am experiencing dropouts during the playback... Its very annoying...
Same issues with my maxx on the latest update.
Haven't tried the wifi "off" option yet.
I use a satechi bluetooth fm transmitter.... the older one with the slide down front face and red digit display. Every other phone works great, even my bionic and SGN, and even slightly older phones.
Oddly I want to report the opposite, the Bluetooth on this works much better and has better range than my previous phone (Droid Incredible). Of course I've only tested it with a Samsung HM3700.
It fails with wifi off, does the every few second stop playing music, then start, then stop.... grrrrr

That's what I have.
droid razr bluetooth skip work around
I picked up a droid razr in feb 2012, and I the same skipping issue right out of the box. It only happend while playing through bluetooth. I found that mine skipped every time the data, 3g or 4g lte, sent or received. This happens randomly based on activity on the phone. I used an app called tasker to turn off my mobile data automatically, only when I was connected to bluetooth and my music app was running. This keeps it from skipping, but it prevents my from using pandora or streaming through google music. I've had many smart phones over the years and I have occasionally had this same issue with wifi, but never with 3g before. This leads me to believe that it's an issue with either with the hardware or software of this particular phone. Hopefully motorola fixes it. Hope this helps anyone out there with the same issue.

[Help] Bluetooth audio streaming problem

When streaming audio to Audi MMI, in my 2012 A1, the music seems to randomly stop and start again - sounds as if I have hit pause then play. Sometimes it can do it multiple times - consecutively and other times just once every now and then. The car has been in and out of the garage numerous times and Audi have now effectively washed their hands with my problem. Blaming the phone... :banghead:
Audi have highlighted that their website mentions that this an issue with the phone....im currently on 4.1.2 MC2 which is newer than the version audi has shown to have tested - 4.0.4 LG8, but im still encountering this problem - running the latest version of audi bluetooth software too.
I've also tried a few different music player apps to make sure it wasnt app related but still no joy. I'm using neutron mp now - really like the EQ and SQ settings. I really dont want to have to use and SD card or dare i say it, buy an ipod just so I can listen to music without interruption - topped off by using either of these other options I won't have the same control of the EQ and SQ settings
Any ideas what could be causing this? And why seems to be phone specific? The garage tested with an iphone and couldnt replicate the issue - it's my understanding that bluetooth is a 'wireless standard' so I cant really get my head around why some phones are ok but the i9300 has this issue.
Anyone here know what could be causing this and / or what I could try to resolve this issue?
Could it be a buffer issue? Or the i9300's proprietary bluetooth drivers?
Cheers in advance!!

Update:-
It was particularly bad today in one journey....
The thing that gets me is there seems to be no reason for the music hiccuping the way it is. The phone can be in my pocket and everything is fine one journey. Then the next journey it could hiccup maybe once or more or maybe even almost continuesly . Other times I sit my phone directly beneath the headunit - behind the gearstick - and i can get the same results as if it were in my pocket! So it doesn't seem to be signal strength issue.
Audi have tested their hardware and have insisted there are no fault codes being recorded so cannot replace the unit. The service manager has said that I am not alone in this situation and it's down to the phone's bluetooth compatibility with audi's hardware
The gs2 supposedly has the same issue along with a number of other android devices by looking at audi's website.
Frustrating to say at least. :what:

Talking to myself here...in the hope someone has a brainwave
I was thinking, could it be a memory issue? Is there anything I should try?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Hmm...yesterday I encountered a new version of this...
...while streaming music and after a couple of the hiccups. The music stopped completely on its own accord on two occasions - both times when I picked the phone up I had to hit play again.
Sooo, I was thinking, could it be some sort of wake issue?!

Ok, at long last someone has shed some light on this. I am yet to test the solution but seems promising...

Weird Wifi issue

Hello everybody,
Recently Ive come across weird issue with connection between Xperia Z2-Router-Other devices. I had Xperia Z,Z1 and Z2 but only the last one is making some problems. The problem is whenever I connect it to my home wifi device the other devices like PCs and Laptops almost loose any connection. I mean there is a great signal but Internet connection becomes extremely slow as if Xperia Z2 was downloading 10gb of some random data. For a few days I had been thinking it was just my Internet provider problem but then I switched off Xperia's wifi and guess what...every device in da house boosted up with its connection. Thats strange... And now what I do is disconnecting Xperia every time I or the others in my house are going to use Internet. You can imagine how frustraiting it is. Any suggestions? Maybe my wifi device is too old, some parameters does not match? What should I look for? And please do not suggest turn on/off phone, checking whether I download sthing at the time or any other simple solution, as Im not that "dark" in my "darkness" lol. Greetings from POLANDia

I see no responses but for all of you facing/who will be facing similiar problem thats fault of router. Today I bought new one, the old one isnt broken its just old some parameters doesnt match I guess with newest technologies used in Z2. New one works perfect, all devices connected and working good. Cheers

wifi issue

Anyone notice that the xa ultra has some wifi connection issues? For example I'm connected fine and everything and I leave my house and come back.. then it doesn't seem to pick up my home's wifi. I have to restart the phone then it comes back. Anyone else notice this?

Never had that problem.

Every. Single. Day. I leave my house and the wifi won't reconnect at school, or home. I restart my phone and it connects just fine. When I'm at school it won't connect until I restart, and then it connects there fine as well. It would be interesting to see what variables between locations has cause/effect on the connection. I'll do some analysis when I have time, see if there is a time variable associated, like if it happens right away or takes time for the problem to occur. I have a feeling it's related to the cheap parts that Sony used, not sure what wifi chip is installed.
yeah I haven't had this issue yet either. Have an apple airport router. I have only had the phone a week but no problems.
OK it just now happened, (wifi won't connect) and I realized it was just connected when I was inside a building at school without cell reception. I put the phone into airplane mode, then turned on wifi, and sure enough the wifi connected. I'm thinking interference or lack of power is preventing wifi when a medium strength LTE signal is connected. I'll keep testing scenarios that fit this theory.
Just a quick update. It seems putting the phone in airplane mode, then manually turning on wifi only, the wifi connects immediately. Turn airplane mode off, wifi stays connected. No need to restart. Wifi drops on me several times a day and this is my fix. This fix did not work 1 time out of the past 20, and I had to restart.
Mine has been doing the same thing.... ugh Sony can't get their crap right no matter what they do. Dear God.
Anyone else having issues with auto brightness not working properly as well?

No problem here on the normal xa mine is a F3111 LTE model WiFi works and connects great on all Firmwares. Have you tried the software repair option via Xperia companion? If it's still the same after this, you need to take a log using the built in logging application and send the logs via Sony support forum it gives you instructions on how to do it in settings think one of the guys names is Richard, about phone, diagnostics, advanced logging they've actually been pretty good regarding any bugs and fix them once they have some logs to work from.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Unfortunately, the repair option didn't solve the issue. After Googling it, it appears many users with the 3213 model are having the same issues. Ugh.
I did not know about the "diagnostics" feature. I enabled it and then it auto uploaded and then turned off. So does support email you or Richard gentleman contact me via the phone somehow to give feedback?
Thanks!

As far as I know it's all done through a pm(message) through the Sony support forum. Then they pass it on to the software peep's and then wait for the fix it may take more than one person to provide the logs before they sanction the update unless they find a bigger problem.

Here's a funny thing, as long as I am not connected to Bluetooth, WiFi works flawlessly, weird.....
I'm just going to assume we have no fix for this yet? the whole resetting my phone is getting really tiring. blah I wish Sony would fix this or at least acknowledge it
I have the same problem with my XA. I've only had the phone a few days and I'm always having to switch it off and back on. SOOOOO annoying. The guy that sold it me said I could just return it. I'm not buying Sony ever again!!!!!
Been having to use my 4g at home alot of the time, which is eating up my data something rotten. It shows the WiFi is on and has full signal, but it's often so slow or even worse dead! I've honestly had 2g on a crap old phone work faster than WiFi at times. I have just "forgotten" all saved WiFi networks and signed into my home WiFi from scratch and put the password in again. Seems to have done the trick, but I'm not holding my breath that it's gonna last.
I'm curious, it might be insignificant, but just wondering what WiFi service providers all of us with problems have? I have BT infinity. For a while I thought that maybe it was just BT being rubbish. But my partner has a Samsung galaxy s8+ and she doesn't seem to have any issues. I've used the WiFi on my linx tablet, no issues. The Xbox one doesn't really lag either.
So it's either that this phone does not like BT or its just my phone being pants!!! Doing my head in, I have to keep getting my partner to send me extra data.
It's seriously getting on my nerves now

This is my first Sony Android phone, and I'm not touching one ever again.. What's worse for me is that mine is still on Sept 2016 update and my carrier locked the bootloader so I couldn't update it myself, as my network don't even care if I have the latest security updates or not

V10, Ford sync3, and Android Auto issue

hey all. ive posted a similar thread in the Connected Car forum but I wanted ti ask you guys if there were any reason why my V10 wont work right with the Sync3 to get Android auto to work?
in a nutshell, when the V10 is connected Auto comes up on the head unit and then crashes and then does it over and over till its disconnected. i tried a Galaxy s7 and it worked fine.
my V10 is stock not rooted. what setting should I be looking at to make this work?

I have complained on multiple thread of how bad the bluetooth is on this phone. I have a gmc 2015 canyon and bluetooth has been nothing but horrendous since marshmallow. I called LG and they keep refusing to acknowledge the issue. You are not alone , google v10 bluetooth issues and you will find plenty online. No resolution. Please call T-mobile and LG, the more ppl that call the more likely of them to address it. It happens mostly on american cars. Some c/o random disconnects, most commonly ppl c/o crackles. Other c/o of connection without any media output, even though it does show the song information playing.
Needless to say, this is my last LG phone.
