Purenexus 7.0 with Franco kernel battery life - Nexus 6P General

Here is a couple pictures of my phone right now after unplugging it at 100% 5 hours ago or so. Have been on the same WiFi the whole time and same brightness. Bluetooth has been on but not actually paired to anything. Have been playing games, Facebook, Messenger, and browsing the web. What do you guys think? Good battery life? Average? Should I be getting more with what I'm doing and since I've been on WiFi the whole time? I've only had a Nexus 6P for about 2 weeks now so trying to figure out if it's good or bad. Traded a used Moto X Pure for this device.

Last picture:

Average. Nougat battery life sucks and I'm tired of it.
About to go back to a MM ROM man.

I'm still thinking about it. But then again, MM is now an outdated version of Android. Missing security patches amongst other things. I really need battery life though.

I stayed on MM and threw Android N-ify on it. Don't see much of a difference between the official build. I got all the pixel stuff on here and get 5+hrs sot on the daily.

I downgraded to MM today (phone came with N, I've only had it for a week).
I found Slim6 is fairly up to date, weekly build came out last week. Its on the Oct. security patch which is not far out of date.
I'm running it with the last Flash kernel for MM.
Still to early to make a call on battery life... But performance has been great and no bugs at all.

moderators please delete thread as test is over

I've made a new version of the 70°,75° and 80° thermal mods which I'm hoping will improve battery life without sacrificing performance at all. If you've been running any my original thermal mods and would like to test out the new versions and give me your feedback it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rob
Just head on over to my original CTT thread to download it

Looks that way. I've only been up since 1 when I woke up with the idea and started working on it I'm really hoping for some good results
Gonna try this!
Later though... planning on doing a total wipe and start from scratch.
It booted up no problem. First boot was no too long, a little less than flashing a ROM. I'm at 100% battery, going to see what happens throughout the day.

I know this was build for stock roms but I flashed it on cm12.1 and it seems to be working fine. Is there a reason it wouldn't work on cm12.1 or if I can check to see if it is working? Thanks
Perhaps it's just the excitement of the new mod, but I feel as though there is a reduction of heat being produced by the device. Has anyone else noticed this?
Got it installed. What specifically do you want feedback on?
I imagine I won't have a feel for the battery difference for a couple days. Anything else?

To check to see if it's working you can download 3c toolbox formally known as android tuner and under CPU you can see the temp and see if it throttles down at the correct temperature and I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with cm12
Please let me know if it works and how well so I can post it in the op

Increasing Charging Speed

Hi guys,
I'm coming from the Oneplus One and that phone used to charge at a speed of 2ma.
Using some apps, I've come to see that the Oneplus X charges only at 1.2ma tops for me.
Is there any kernel which supports 2ma charging? Thanks!
I don't see the charging speed a problem, considering that it's got a lesser capacity battery. Charging times are fast enough that you wouldn't notice any difference. Just keep it down and let it charge.
As for kernels, you could check the developments section
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
I guess blu spark kernel has fast charging support... Look it up
Mine charge at 1500mAH
Max voltage which can go through is 1800mAh for our phone
0-60%--- Phone charges at 1500mAh(Rapid Charge)
60-90%--Phone charges at 1200mAh
90-100%- 300mAh (Trickle Charge)
This is the case in all phones .. take it nexus 5 ... xiaomi mi4.....One plus one

Bluspark kernel only supports usb fast charge i.e charging is fast when connect to pc or something like that not charger.

I understand why you would want to, but as i know bluspark doesnt "Support" cm for now but it works - try it, in case you always can go back on cm kernel, in using oos 2.2 with bluspark, gives me 4-5 screen time with Wi-Fi always on which is more than enough for me, waiting stable marshmallow ^.^

Well it does because I did clean flashs and installed exactly the same apps.. and even in standby it went down like crazy. Charging was fast but that doesn't help if your phone dies after 8 or 9 hrs and you don't have a charger near you

The camera bug won't be fixed in any Nougat ROM until Xiaomi releases the Nougat sources. You can always use 3rd party camera apps, open camera works great.

Sony Camera App Sub?

Hiya! I was wondering what kind of cam apps have you been using. I'm currently on resurrection remix 5.8.4 and its brilliant! It works amazingly! But ofcourse its difficult to replace the default sony camera app. So I was wondering what substitute does everyone use one way or another?
How's your battery life with that ROM? how many SOTs are you getting on a casual internet/facebook use?
Also, i recommend Xnext camera, you could find a flashable zip here somewhere.

Its been awesome! Its faster and really more bearable in comparison to stock. I used the LXT 1.5 Link
and thermal fix FSC Link
I still havent really observed my sot yet from the battery it self ill update you tomorrow but definitely faster charging with just a 2amp output charger. But drainage in idle is like 1% per hour i noticed when i wake up. And the temperature has been average it still gets warm but not as hot as it used to even while playing games like sao or khu. And thanks for the cam app! ^_^
I have a question, can you just install the zip and clean dalvik/cache or do you still have to do what the op mentioned.
If you come from RC v2.1 or ROMX you maybe need to reflash a clean system. Don't reflash ROMX 3.1! # Should be outdated
1. Clear data: "Camera","CameraCommon" and "Video"

I ran across this several days ago and decided to test it on my own Le Max 2: With it I managed to get 6.5 hours SoT with fairly heavy web browsing (Opera) and music playback (Poweramp). I'm running AospExtended 5.4 Official 2018-04-17 and Helix Engine 2.0 Beta Free.

Thanks for this advice, i will test it, because it's a really good idea. Considering the fact, that i'm not a heavy user, it should be interesting, if the effect is still noticable.
For me too much apps that do not open or open very slowly at the moment.
I like the dynamic flow of slowing down or speeding up the CPU for the phone needs. I will check the development later on.....

It may. But I suspect you'll be better results with it if the device is rooted and allows Super User access. As a matter of fact, root access is required for it...
