Status bar hiding, and navigation bar question - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Came here looking for a solution to allow me to completely hide the status bar on my rooted Android (Optimized Lollipop 5.1 2013 Moto G) device, while still being able to pull it down, leaving the navigation bar untouched.
In a far away past I was a user of CM Browser (@apktrunk.com), which was once a pleasure to use because of its very smart and precise algorithms in capturing my fingers' inputs and translating them into clicks without spamming me with @#$% “link disambiguation pop-up windows” like Chrome does, but mainly because of its awesome full-screen mode in which the application hides the status bar without removing the essentially useful navigation bar. This translates into an improved landscape browsing experience because of smaller width/height proportion.
Found this [GUIDE] Hide Status Bar and still being able to expand it on Jelly Bean thread, but seems pretty old. Thought it'd be wise to ask first before using potentially expired ammunition.
Onto the navigation bar question:
I've noticed the navigation bar goes from vertical to freaking horizontal if I lower my screen pixel density value below 200 dpi… NOOOOOOOOO!!! Any way to solve this?
Thanks again! :victory:
Cheers

downloading right now....will be back with feedbacks...btw,where did u find it???looks cool....thanks
I have been using that for a long time, but it has some way to go still:
Pros:
- Looks good
- Able to update the location properly. When travelling, it actually updates the location accurately.
- Has a lot of skins and fonts to go with a lot of themes you might be using
- Free App
Cons:
- Memory use is very high. ~25MB. It was fixed in one of the versions (~8MB), but it is again back to 25.
- Day and night calculation is bugged. It will show the Sun icon during the night and vice-versa. The dev claimed to have fixed it, but, its not, for me.
- Local time showed in the weather forecast screen is off by half an hour. (Probably because I am in a GMT +x.30 Zone)
- Skins are just colour variations of the clock. I would have expected some 'proper' skins, and, the ability to change the colour via a picker.
Sorry (I need this word very often, but i mean it seriously)
Is there a widget like this (or even better), with 3D Flip clock and weather, which i can place on the desktop (i don't have the right word for the android screen), and when i tip with my finger on it, it shows the normal clock (Clock, Alarms..) options.
Thanks for your answers.
looks awesome will download

[Q] Notification drop down and clashing colours, a fix?

I have noticed a slight annoyance on the SGS2. Some of my apps seems to be using a black colour when I pull down the notification bar, which makes them very hard to see and/or read unless under appropriate lighting.
But is there a fix available that will FORCE all colours to at least not just be black so they are easier to see?

As you can see both Beautiful Widgets and Lookout Mobile security uses a colour that is hard to read on the SGS2 running stock roms, but is there a way to fix this in a generic form, or is it a "bug" with the apps themselves?
The apps are expecting the default white background of Gingerbread. The only way to fix it is to change the image to white and the stock text color to black.
My Rom is stock. Thus leading me to expect those two apps are out of date for GB. And I don't really want a white background on my notification pulldown.
Beautiful Widgets lets you change the color of the text in the notification, if I'm not mistaken. Look somewhere in the settings.

That's what Gingerbread is supposed to look like. Samsung changed the colors around resulting in this problem.

Gesture Control (root)

Please refer to the main thread in Android apps and Games: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535740
I'm developing application that allows you to control tablet with MULTITOUCH gestures.
Root required. Only Honeycomb supported at the moment.
Currently it allows to execute following gestures:
Back:
Swipe 2 fingers from top downward
Home:
pinch 3-4 fingers
Show/Hide status bar:
Swipe 2 fingers from bottom upward
You can download it here:

Good to know, thanks.
I'm currently running CM9 so I can't test it yet but if I could use a gesture to accomplish those items and customize them a little that would be awesome.
For instance a gesture for turning the status bar on and off would be awesome so I could let my 2 year of okay with their interactive books without accidentally closing the app.
tried it in cm9 and it didn't work.
seem to work only in honeycomb.
would be good if it work in cm9 or aokp.
New version
1.2.1
- Added check for USB Debugging
Solved all known issues, so will work on ICS support next.

Remove Entire Quick Access Panel of Pull-Down Status Bar on LOS 14.1

TOP OF THE HOMESCREEN, NOT LOCKSCREEN. The "Quick Access Panel" is a component joined to ur main Status Bar.
Hello there, i have done extensive search on this but have found no solution. I am interested in completely removing the entire panel in grey, together with its contents, using the prop build editor. Could someone guide me pls. If possible., i do not wish it just to be hidden from sight, i wish to delete it permanently off my phone. Any help would be appreciated.
Please realize, i have searched some posts, but this is NOT the LOCK SCREEN. It's the pull down notification status bar of my HOMESCREEN.
The actual Status Bar itself is hidden (by my launcher's command), but i want to keep that.
It's the adjoining grey panel, known as the 'Quick Access Panel' which i want to remove from my system.
Here's two pictures showing you the panel i want removed (basically all the grey and all the items contained therein).
That means the date & time on the left, the settings icon, the edit icon, the little arrow to expand/hide the panel, and the whole panel itself.
The blue User profile i already got rid off by using Build Prop. Other stuff like wifi activation etc. i removed via the pencil edit.

Hi i'm sry i posted this in the wrong section yesterday. Is there any way to do this, with Build Prop Editor?

How to remove horizontal camera hider on LG K51s??

So I recently acquired an LG K51s, because my old Sony broke due to water penetration.
One annoying thing I really dislike about the phone (apart from the rubbish skin LG uses), is the simple fact when I go into horizontal mode the phone cuts off part of the top screen to make it look seamless (because it has a hole-punch camera cutout).
Now I really don't mind the camera, provided I can use the 6.55" 20x9 720p screen. So I'd like to know, if there a way I can permanently disable it? I know Nova launcher and YouTube can somehow bypass it and use the whole screen.
Thanks in advance!

So this is kinda useless. But I'll keep trying nonetheless!
I suspect the problem is with com.android.systemui. I have managed to extract the APK and will be looking around to see if I can somehow disable a custom setting in System UI Tuner. If that doesn't work I may have to edit it manually and see if I can overwrite it, somehow...

Settings app giving me the stupid black bar (horizontal)
Same issue in Chrone as in the Settings app (horizontal)
But any app that plays videos (in my case it's YouTube) has the option to remove the black bars (horizontal)
Why is no one giving me ANY useful input?
I can even upload the 90mb systemui apk if, anyone has the knowledge and experience to go through it.
Mods, what the on earth is going on???
