Trying to keep this all TLDR
So, ive seen multiple dev's mentioning they are working on nougat for this device, D-Fuse specifically mentioned his Broken OS was going to work on nougat..as well ive seen many just "users" stating they are waiting on nougat and so on and so fourth...
are there devs out there working on nougat? Or is this not accurate, and if so, is there a functional version some dev has even booting up yet out of curiosity? Trying to piece together my own timeline in my head of when to expect it.
one other thread mentioned this on October 1st, and said some devs are working on cm14...
so I guess my real question, is does anyone know if any of these RID roms in development, are booting, or in some alpha stage.

All the devs are working on cm14... Cm14 does boot up for our device.. but it reboots after about 3 min because there is some audio related problem.in the modem... So there will be noigat for our device... Sooner or later...

Once that auto reboot got fixed, we will have a semi stable Nougat.

you were trying to fix the reboot bug.. Well most of the lead devs who had honor 5x has sold it long ago.. MAzda, duse, ethan.... just wait for Chris to sort out bugs..... he is only the least dev who has this device... We don't have any other senior developer with real coding skills who can code and just build his kernel from scratch... CM has to do this....
only hope is a cm14 nightly form cm team
install cm13 official and keep up with OTA will come soon =) .

We need to keep waiting for 2 more months to get official release . at least a month more for cm14.1 .

Yep. It's a credit to a lot of well written threads that I didn't brick this thing in some narcotic-induced stupor. I love this phone though. It makes the S-AMOLED in my girlfriend's SGS look like a cheap piece of crap.
I think the update truly has been released. I just ran a check new on my phone and one was ready for download.
I'm unlocked and rooted, so I just rejected it.
Hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow, this will be confirmed or denies by you other guys out there.

I think the update that I'm seeing may have been the ota that was released several months ago.
ADRW6425LVW_2.01.605.11-1.02.605.6 is the version number if anyone can verify that.
3.011.605.22 should be ics ota.

I wish, they are FAKE back in stock. Shipping to themselves in 3-4 weeks, plus there usual 3-5 days to process, then shipping. So basically never in developer time, lol :good:

Wow, this is great news. This is a huge reason for me to keep the one I ordered. I know the issues I've been reading about will be fixed once the team brings AOKP. to the Nexus 10.

I ordered mine on the 19th and recieved it on the 23rd. Counting thanksgiving in the mic and it was only 3 days. I hope you can get one soon, love your work on my s3

Maybe any of those who try to port actual Custom ROMs to the Honor 7 could give a quick update on how's it going and what causes the development to stuck. Is there even any hope of getting i.e. CM?

Yes, there are devs(including me) who are trying to port CM13 for our beloved Honor 7, so please wait patiently, its on its way.

Huawei did not provided us with Nougat. But here, thanks to custom rom developers, we were able to experience Android 7 on our devices. Now to my curiosity rises a question I am sure it would have gone through your mind as well. I was wondering if custom rom developers will work on Android 8 for Honor 5X? I believe that developers might work on it but would not be nice to hear opinions from our developers?
It would be nice, but it's a old phone. It would have to be a "proof of concept" type of thing now. I remember how, for a time, how devs would put new versions of OS's on the g1. Maybe someone may throw down the gauntlet.
I'm 80% sure that Android O will come for 5X. What do you say @gopinaidu77?

On 23rd August 2016 , Honor updated their "Device Update Policy"
You can check it here.
Just compare the policy with what they did for 5x.

Do not trust sites like this. Devices getting the next version of Android O is developer dependent. No one can tell which device gets it.

Custom ROMs are the only reason why I am holding this phone right now. Its great to know devs are bringing O to our device.

Because the devs don't have VoLTE in their carriers. Ultimately, I think they got fed up from all the repetitive requests before.

There is a team working to build oreo, and they already made it bootable, fixed wifi and more, but they are working like hackers, I mean they dont show up on XDA usually, nor they publish their test builds
Whats my point is: Yes, its possible to get Oreo on this device, have patience
