Not sure what this update brings, but it is about 52MB or so. Hopefully, this fixes Doze.

Can I install on mine?

It's a fix that they released to fix the Facebook app force close lol nothing major.

Yes, I noticed. I still have issues with FB not updating data when loaded...but at least the app doesn't crash.

Doesn't seem so. The beta is full, and it doesn't seem like there's an alternate way to get in.

I called support and asked if I could get in for kicks. I got directed to the beta support team, guy said they may reopen the beta at some point because of the number of people who have reverted. However, currently no way to get in.

Well, for those who don't know, they did reopen it. I'm surprised that so many people reverted. The biggest hit was certainly battery life, but I can live without Doze for a few weeks...but I can't wait to have it back!!

Yes, it does fill up quickly. But many people are leaving as well. I'm starting to see some odd bugs, and a bit of lag sometimes. Not often, but not seldom enough.

New update just got released for beta users. Quick overview and somethings have changed. The "Close All" button has moved back down to the bottom and you can now reply to messages without opening the message app.

Can anyone confirm if you can use Google Daydream VR with nougat? Trying to decide if I should get Daydream or Samsung vr

I am on the latest nougat beta and it does indeed work with the gear vr as well as the cardboard apps you would use with daydream(thru gear VR disabler). Daydream isn't even compatible with this phone. It requires 7.1.1 the current beta is 7.0. Heavy rumors on tech blogs say Samsung is going to jump straight to 7.1.1 for final release of nougat, though, whenever that may be.

The Moto z works with daydream through its 7.0 update so I really can't understand why we can't have daydream support. I read on a Samsung beta forum that we won't get support because we don't have the necessary hardware...I asked which hardware is that but received no answers.

Just updated to the 5th beta, and I noticed that the longpress of the recdnts button no longer actives multiwindow.

Note 2 Multi Window Tool

One of the best features that separates the Galaxy Note 2 apart from the rest of the high end smartphones is the Multi-Window feature, where users can run two applications simultaneously, side by side. However, it is severely limited out of the box. Instead of allowing users to open any application in this Multi-Window there are only 13 applications that natively work with Multi-Window. For example you can't have your web browser and your favorite Twitter client side by side since Twitter is not one of the 13 apps available with Multi-Window. Well according to an article from phonedog.com, one can now root their Note 2 and use Paul O'Brien's automated Note 2 Multi Window Tool. This tool takes a list of apps and creates you an update zip (for flashing via clockworkmod) with a modified framework APK that enables your chosen apps for multi window support.

I think we're on our own. Going to have to wait for root and perform the mod that allows us to add any app to multi-view. I actually would not mine having a custom ROM that strips all the bloat and adds these features.

Im in the same boat. Verizonvtexhbsupport was unable to help. Samsung tier 1 said
U.S versions wont work till update. I explained it works just fine but I cant add any apps tobthe list. After 35 min with samsung advanced support, I was told I would have to wait for an update.
Sadly, proper multi-window function is not all we VZW customers are missing. Guess rooting will be the only way to go, unless their update actually fixes it.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2.
The VZW rep at the store that I know pretty good said there is a update coming in January to expand the userbility of multi window. Dont know how true that is.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the info, I spent some time on YouTube watching videos of the multi-window feature and everyone else had lots of apps, including facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc. I really hope the update comes soon!
While the Verizon version may need an update to add things like YouTube, chrome, twitter, etc, some apps just need to add the support more the multiview bar.
I installed super video and it was automatically placed in the multiview bar.

Not to discredit your friend, more to discredit the idiots telling him even vague timelines, I'd say it's very untrue
The built in multi-window apps make this thing nearly useless for the time being.

I think its an update behind the other Note 2s alt there is the possibility that Verizon also watered it down a bit but I think its the first.

Google Now

Is our Phone Armv6 or Armv7
pretty sure Armv7
http://www.mediafire.com/?hsos53699wq2ttm
that's the google now I flashed. It's not perfect but it was the best one I could find.
You're probably looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224
That's where I got it from.
I wish I could get a fully functional version. It's almost perfect, but it's not the updated version, and if you try to exit with the ''back'' button it wont work, only if you hit ''home''
but all the commands and voice functionality work.
Does anybody else have 2 options for Google voice typing under the input method selection screen after installing Google Now? I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly during install or if it should be expected.

You'll get two options and they are both functional. If you click them you can test them both.
You can also freeze one or the other of you have titanium backup or something similar.

I've been working around it without a problem, I just didn't know if it was an error on my part
how many of you are running this? if you are running it do you have cards working?
i've had it and like it (the search part works, i can't add cards)... although it appears a bunch of functions don't work. it appears the easiest solution is for us to wait for JB to come out?
Google now with cards is working nicely on the cm10 preview in the development section. It wasn't working the same way when I was on viper with this version
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using Tapatalk 2
Use the app for a while. I felt like I didn't have any cards pop up for a while. Give it a chance to collect data and you'll notice a difference. I've been using it for several months now and it gives me traffic to work smh home, recent places I've shown interest in, train arrival times for the subway and railroad stations I'm near, weather conditions as well as heads up notifications letting me know when I need to leave my current location to make a calendar appointment on time. It really is awesome, but you'll have to give it a bit of time.
This version also has a lot of glitches, like you can't hit "back" out of the app or it will freeze until you do a refresh.
The developers only went so far as to develop for ICS, and then stopped so not everything functions correctly. Just install Cyanogen now that we have it, it works great!
just today it popped up a card for driving directions home and traffic! kinda cool... had the locations wrong so i corrected them. i'll see how it starts behaving - nice to see it's starting to figure some stuff out. it does give me cards for calendar events...
i keep watching the cyanogen thread... i've never run that rom before. i may try it for fun some time although i'm really happy with the viper rom.
I love the cm10 rom. Been running it since the day it was previewed. Google now works great on it. After it learns your behaviors the cards come up all the time for me. It even gives me driving eta to home and work in the notification bar when I start my trips without even opening the search app.

I have been developing ROMs for my phones for quite some time, but never was able to upload or post because I hadn't made 10 posts. I want to share my ROM in the development section, but need some testers to make sure everything is working well.
I have used this ROM personally now for a week and it hasn't given me any troubles. Those results were for me, so now I need to see how well it works for others.
The idea of this ROM is to get rid of everything that is not essential. Yes, I mean everything. The clock, the calendar, the calculator, the browser and all other features are completely removed. This is a very anti-bloat ROM, perhaps the most extreme anti-bloat ROM of all time.
Anything you want will either have to be downloaded through the Play store, or installed through the APK of the original Samsung apps I will provide. Because of this, the ROM is under 600MB. Yes! It is that small.
If you are interested in being one of the beta testers, I am allowing a limited number of you to try.
PM me if you are interested.
Definitely interested. Which base? NC2 or NC4?

Big thanks for all the testers. I'm closing the testing opportunities now until I make I upload it to the development section sometime next week.
Please report any bugs you find in the ROM, if any, and thanks again for all the volunteers.

I have personally had no issues with rotation and no one else has reported any bugs with it, but I'll test it a little bit more before I release.
With regards to the camera, I have taken out some of the special features if that as what you are having trouble with. For example, if you were to go to Mode, and select Drama, that specific mode would not work. If you go into further detail about your issue with the camera I will test it more closely.
I downloaded the game "Subway Surfer" and tested volume control with that for about 10 minutes. I found no issues with volume control in that game. If you tell me what specific game or games you are having trouble with, I will download those and test volume with them and see if I still have issues.
Thanks for testing.

On my Sprint S8+, so far I have only disabled Bixby related. I prefer Google as it is a bit more mature and refined. Also, looking at the knox related stuff to disable.

Not such a funny joke, actually he is doing a good job, if he wanted to be stuck in one ecosystem he would buy an iphone, samsung is always putting so much bloatware, unwanted apps into their devices. If someone does not use a certain app, why wouldn't he just disable it? I can't imagine using a samsung phone without hardly debloating it first

You need to disable the OTA Update app.
Use a adb edit or a package disabler.
Your carrier can disable it from their side as well.
Stay away from wifi networks until this is done. The carrier may also have update towers which update very fast if you get in range.
