Galaxy a3 a300fu ( a3 2015 ) android 6.0.1 [twrp root] and mods - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 General

I should have posted this in development area < Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8 Android Development > , some admin / modder please move the thread , thanks and sorry for the mistake, i was in a hurry , jogging time !
I've recently managed to root my phone via twrp , i've tried a lot of already built twrp recovery image built for marshmallow after updating, this one above
( TWRP_2.8.7.0_A3_F-H-FU_5.0.2_v2.tar > file attached at the thread bottom ) .. yes i know is for lolipop but works on marshmallow , i didn't managed to find who built it but it works and loads even with the "Set warranty bit : recovery" issue , the thing is that get stitch as welll and you are not needed to flash original recovery after rooting .
As the thread title says this is for A3 a300fu (A3 2015) updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1 ( A300FUXXU1CPH3_A300FUOXX1CPI1_ROM ) .
1) Download supersu zip file and place it within your phone memory or sd card
1 ) a) Flash above twrp recovery image with odin .
2) Enter recovery ( power key > home > volume up after flashing the recovery image )
RECOMMENDED > DO A BACKUP FROM TWRP BEFORE FLASHING ROOT AND XPOSED JUST TO STAY SAFE .
3) From twrp choose > install > select your zip file > swap to flash
( I've flashed latest file : SR4-SuperSU-v2.78-SR4-20161115184928.zip )
4) Go to > restart > system TWRP WILL ASK YOU TO INSTALL ROOT CHOOSE > >>> DO NOT INSTALL <<< <
5) LET IT BOOT > YOU WILL ALSO SEE ANOTHER "Set warranty bit" MESSAGE , just wait for boot do not force reboot or something else
(SAME FOR XPOSED FRAMEWORK IT WILL TAKE SOME MINUTES TO BOOT) .
5) a) Download supersu chainfire from google play store and make an update if required
>>>>>> MODS <<<<<<<
Since i've also wanted to install xposed framework as well , i've tested and successfully managed to install this mod :
> xposed-v86.0-sdk23-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20160709.zip
For xposed framework before flashing zip file with the already installed twrp , first install right after rooting
> XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk from this thread , then reboot to twrp and go to install and select the above named zip .
Happy rooting !

works! many thanks

Unable to flash TWRP
My phone model is SM-A300FU. I tried flashing TWRP with Odin v3.12.3, but it doesn't do anything. On AP I selected the attached .tar file and I put my A3 into download mode. It took 4 seconds to do it and Odin said that it passed, but it didn't do anything. I tried doing it 3 times and it didn't work. My phone didn't get bricked, but it didn't do anything to the recovery. I still have the stock recovery that comes with the phone. Please help. Thank you.

Try with Odin v10.7 or v11 .. Last version of odin doesn't work great with A 2015

Root Samsung Galaxy A5 All Variants Kitkat and Lollipop

I am not a developer at all , just got a working method from different web sources. so i think posting this method will help all A5 users. hope it helps you ...
Note: This Method Will Set Your KNOX Status As 0x1 , That Means Your Warranty Will Be Void Forever.

Root Process:
Step 1: So A5 has many variants under it and so i have provided chain fire root kit for all of them, so choose the kit as per your device model and download it on your PC. Once downloaded you have to create a folder named A5 on desktop and extract the contents of the downloaded zip file inside it.
Step 2 : After you do the above step now you have to download the famous Odin for A5 which will utilize the above kit and root your A5 .
Step 3 : Now we need our device in download mode so to do that turn off your A5 and then press home button along with the power button and the down button of volume all of them together until the mode loads up.
When mode loads up you have to use the USB cable to connect the device to PC.
Step 4 : Now when you open the Odin software which you just now installed on your computer, you will see a message saying added which means that A5 is added to Odin.
Step 5 : Once added you will see a button on which PDA/AP is written which upon clicking you have to select a file named .tar.md5 from the extracted folder which you kept on desktop.
Step 6 :After you do that, you will have to for sure follow this point before hitting start so click on F.Reset time and Auto reboot options and then you can click start.
Step 7 : When you hit start the Odin by using the root kit files, will root your device and will take around 2 – 3 minutes may be less then that to complete its process and when it is done successfully then it will show a message saying PASS which means the root access has been achieved on A5 , If Failed Follow Below Steps
Here is a problem , If ODIN saying RESET then your device will be rebooted and rooted successfully but it already destroyed boot.img and recovery.img . don't worry we are going to solve this issue with some simple steps. Download Falshify from above links and install after that download firmware for your device from above links then rename the Firmware_File_Name.tar.md5 to Firmware_File_Name.tar then open it using winrar and extract boot.img , recovery.img then copy it to your device storage and flash both of them using Flashify . don't reboot after flashing one image, flash both image then reboot.
You Have Root On Your Samsung Galaxy A5 ,Whatever It KitKat Or Lollipop.

has anyone tried this
you can try this ...

Didn't work on my A5 A500M on Android Lollipop 5.0.2
What can I do? I followed all steps and did also the last one, because ODIN said RESET after flashing the root file. And after extracting and flashing the both .img files my cellphone didn't boot the system, it just went into the recovery when I tried to boot it normally. So I flash the firmware again with ODIN.
I just want to know:
1) What really happens when ODIN says RESET after flashing a file? You said that at that point the files "recovery.img" and "boot.img" are destroyed. What do you really mean with that? Are they deleted from the cellphone?
2) Mean this that the cellphone won't boot anymore if turn it off and then try to turn it on again?
3) What would happen if I flash the Root file and ODIN says RESET after flashing but I don't flash the both .img files? Would my cellphone work normally or not?
Thank you very much and sorry for so many questions, I'm kind of new to this!
Why make a topic about this ? Its just ChainFire-Autoroot.

Good questions mate. I would like to know there answers. These lines " at that point the files "recovery.img" and "boot.img" are destroyed" seems scary to me.
So; no answers here by the OP, and it worked for nobody...

Samsung A500H returns "Could not do normal boot"

[Root SM-A320F /FL/Y] Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 - The most advanced 4.7 inch Samsung yet

This device is more reasonable to buy as it is small and elegant at a decent price.
It is IP68 water-friendly device and the display is much better - higher FPS than on higher resolution OLEDs - good for action games.

Unzip the file
Run Odin from the unzipped folder
Browse by clicking AP button the *.md5 file from the unzipped folder
Connect the A320F in download mode (start the device by holding Power+Home+Volume DOWN)
After starting the device in download mode, press Volume UP one to allow the download
A new COM port should be recognized by Odin after the device is connected via USB
Press Start button in in Odin
Rooting will take place automatically and the device will restart twice.
After the first restart you can disconnect the cable from the PC.
Second restart might take a few minutes.
After that you will find the SuperSU app installed.
Other, more complicated methods:
Rooting using custom recovery:
You will need:
SM-A320F with Exynos CPU (waiting for updates on other model)
Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 on your device
Odin v3.0.4 (download link below)
Team Win Recovery Project - TWRP (download link here) or ClockWork Mod Custom Recovery - CWM (download link below)
(Recommended custom recovery: Team Win Recovery Project :good: - more features, newer, works better)
SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815 (latest ZIP version available today - download link below)
SM-A320F TWRP & CWM recovery installation procedure:
On your device enable developer options and then disable OEM lock (FRP lock) for the device to allow you to flash custom recovery
(Activate OEM unlock from developer options menu)
Boot your device in Odin downlaod mode (hold VolDOWN + Home + Power)
Flash the *.tar file of TWRP or for the CWM using Odin's PDA option
(Uncheck Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time)
Force reboot your device (hold VolDOWN + Power for 10 seconds)
SM-A320F SuperSU ZIP installation procedure:
Copy SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip on a microSD card (trough USB data cable or any other method)
Unplug the USB data cable from the phone and shut down the device
Start your device in Recovery mode (Hold VolUP + Home + Power)
(RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCED - this warning is normal when booting into CWM custom recovery but not with TWRP)
The recovery menu will appear
> Using TWRP Recovery:
Swipe to allow modifications
Tap on Install
Tap on Select Storage at the bottom and select MicroSDCard then tap OK
Browse for the SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and tap on it to install it
Swipe to install SuperSU (confirm Flash)
> Using CWM Recovery:
Select Install zip update package (use VolDOWN/VolUP to navigate and Power to select)
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Select SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and press Power to install Super SU
The installation will perform automatically and the device will reboot twice.
First reboot will take longer. Please be patient. After the second reboot you will have SuperSU and root.
Downsides/bugs:
Knox will be tripped the second you flash a custom recovery (Warranty void: 1 - non reversibile)
(That means that you will lose the warranty for your device and that can not be changed)
(Perhaps that's why I personally can't invest more than $300 in a Samsung cellphone ever)
You won't be able to use Knox-related functions including Secure Folder ever again
Because of a SuperSU bug you won't be able to use Smart View (Miracast, project the screen to smart TV) unless you make an edit as follows:
Lewdog45 said:
Use a file browser such as Root Browser and go to the root of your device then locate the "System" folder and find build.prop and edit it with any application that can edit it and find the bottom line, right at the edge of the bottom line you need to press enter twice and then paste this:
wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
And then save it and reboot your device.

Any idea?

Format the SD card on your PC using FAT32 option (use an USB adapter).
Copy the zip on the card, Insert it into the phone and reboot into recovery to test.
Yes... that's what I did. I found the solution into Google.
Thanks anyway for your help.
Do you think that it will be possible to install TWRP instead of CWM in recovery?

Yes. You can flash twrp in cwm and reboot to recovery. Twrp will be there instead.
wich version to choose?
Sorry. There's no twrp for a320 yet, but in general it's working fine to flash new recovery with existing one.
Hey guys, I will receive my a3 2017 soon and I was wondering if it would be preferable to root it now than waiting for the update to Nougat and re-root it then... Any idea when the update will be available for this phone? I was also wondering if I should use a specific brand or type of micro sd card with this phone?
Thanks

if you see red line , you want flash older stock ROM, you need to download latest version , because new bootloder not allow to downgrade , if you see in download mode B:2 K:1 S:1, its means is you can flash ROM with bootloader version >= 2 , boot version >= 1 and system version >= 1 i have same problem in A5 2017.
you must download last version of ROM from here. this problem solve if you use new versions.
for other problem your RMM state is prenormal , you must wait 7 day (168 h+) without any reboot or change ROM.

J6OOG updated to the last version (android 10)
stucks in boot after flashing TWRP and MAGISK
Is there a way to root it. . . .
NB: Iwas on PIE(9) ..and rooted by magisk. .
THANK's. . .
after a week of googling I finally found a tutorial on how to root another galaxy on android 10.
I tried this method on my J6 and it works.
today i will share it with you ....
but know that .....
- I am not a developer ...
- this method worked for me .. it might not for you ..
- I could not be responsible for probable damage ...
- you can always wait for an official method ...
- if you want to try it then ...... I guess you know what :
a root..bootloader..USB debugging…OEM unlock…drivers…odin..magisk..7zip ... data loss ... warranty .. and ....
I tried this method on my J600G/DS…i don’t know if it works on other variants…
1) download your latest firmware…mine is XME-J600GDXU6CTCA
2) extract it in a folder on your PC
3) check that you have enough space on your phone (+ 7GO free)
3) copy the AP file from the folder to your phone…internal or SDCard (use a USB flash disk)… cable transfer can corrupt data…
4 )Install Latest Magisk Manager and open it
5) « magisk is not installed »…tap on.. « install »..and « install » in next window…and allow…
6) navigate to your AP file and select it and wait until the process completes..
7) go to Download folder and copy “magisk_patched.tar” to your PC ..folder where firmware was extracted…
8) connect phone to PC and enter Download mode..
9) with Odin flash the 4 files..BL..CP..CSC..and in AP select “ magisk_patched.tar” file..
10) when done and system boot finished..configure your device…
11) install magisk manager again..and open it…it will say “Requires additional setup”
12) tap “OK”..wait..the device will reboot..
YOU ARE ROOTED
**download and install Busybox from Magisk..
**TitaniumBackup will crash…download “Tbcrash fixer” from “ mobilism forum ”
**download and install “debloater” module from Magisk…install “Terminal Emulator” to debloat your device…
( SU..enter…..debloat..enter )
**don’t try to install a custom recovery..device will stuck at boot..
GOOD LUCK
Did you patch the file with the same device which you used it or two different devices?
Well, i got it and it works.
Uses the magisk_patched.tar from the same device which i wanted to root.
And with a clean odin installation that should work.

GOOD LUCK

I used A505F Indonesia too, it works for BTE1 and BTG3 (latest A505F firmware update ), It works for Android 10 firmware. I suggest you flash stock rom and then flash TWRP again

Hi
I followed instructions and youtube link.
I got twrp working. But magisk manager says 'Magisk is not installed Latest: 20.4(20400)' . Magisk Manager is up to date Installed: 7.5.1 (267) Latest: 7.5.1(267)(7)
On clicking Install it offers to download zip. I downloaded the zip, went to twrp and flashed it but still it says not installed .
Edit: I have to go into twrp and select boot->recovery , this will boot with magisk. But on reboot simply it says Magisk not installed
Edit: Go to twrp -> reboot recovery. Open Magisk manager, Install -> Recommended Way, reboot. This will make rooting permanent.
Everything working
Thank You

That is long story I think, as I am not wrong in after android 8 or 9 above, It caused partition structure. In android 8 above partition structure has changed, we can not install magisk manually in TWRP anymore, we must patch it in recovery.img, repack recovery.img, boot.img and vbmeta.img to be flashable tar file then flash it. It looks no solution until now..
HELP

For me. Done. I think if you use lattest firmware / juni security patch.
No need samsung multidisabler.
On twrp
Just format data -
Swipe to factory reset
Reboot to recovery.
Install magisk manager done. ?
That my experience.
( that also true until now I am not succes to flash multidisabler ,but everything work fine without multidisabler ,
bener bro gak bisa . Tulisannya error merah saat flash zip sd card )
