Verizon Moto Z XT1065 - Possible Way to Bypass Activation Lockout? - CQATest Mode? - Moto Z Questions & Answers

I was messing around with my new Moto Z trying to bypass the activation screen, and it appears I have done so. I am now able to access a CQATest Mode, and in developer options, I have the ability to turn on OEM unlocking.
Is this something that is known? Can I contribute anything to break this puppy open? I would fire up ADB/Fastboot, but I don't have a USB to Type C adapter.

Having the OEM Unlocking toggle in Developer options is normal.

which version is the phone on? If it is 6.0 I can assist you with unlocking phone, just pm me.
Also how were you able to turn on developer options?

Apparently not the VZW version. All I got in the box was a type C charger and the headphone adapter.

Did it work before you flashed angelrom?
i didnt try it before my friend....today i bought the converter from micro usb to usb......so...is there any service that maybe did not is enable in the custom rom....and cant run the usb host....
It's unlikely that it's the ROM, as this is a feature that many people use.
It may be that what you are trying to use simply doesn't work. Do you have a USB mouse you could try? Also, is the device that you are connecting powered, or does it expect power from the USB connection?
well...i connect 3 devices... a keyboard...a mouse...and a usb strage stick....
and no led...power on...of the devices
In that case, I suggest you ask on the thread where you got the ROM. Have you already searched that thread to see if anyone else has the same problem?
i did a quick search...but i didnt find anything important...well ok my friend thx....

don't bother checking with more devices or posting in the rom thread, you just bought the wrong cable for otg purposes.
a simple converter from micro usb to usb won't do, the sgs2 discovers connected devices by the resistor between pin 4 and 5 of the micro usb plug inserted, and afaik, a usb otg cable needs a 200k resistor (if you decide to weld one in yourself, double check the number against other threads, i am not sure about that). simple converters, adapters and even some "usb otg" marked cables don't have a resistor in there.
and if the correct resistor is present in the plug, the device should discover the cable when plugged in, and then you can connect any device afterwards and get another notification. (as is seen in the usb otg video in the accessories section.)
i hope you did not pay too much on that cable, or have the possibility to return it for a refund or exchange, because yours has little to no known uses.
Thanks Chef, I didn't know that. That's the "something new" that I learnt today
thx my friend..i give 4 euro for this ****...but its ok....
i m gonna buy....this one of nokia cable....its ok i thing right... ??? http://europe.nokia.com/find-produc...cables/nokia-adapter-cable-for-usb-otg-ca-157

TWRP for Moto 360 2nd gen?

I managed to connect it through the Bluetooth debug and come to the stock recovery, however update from ADB (obviously) and SD do not work. I don't mean to modify the system much but just wanted to change the emoji font. Anyone could help to build the TWRP?
Bluetooth debug tutorial:

Where did you find this picture?
TWRP source code for 1st Gen Moto 360 could be helpful to get an idea?

The issue, AFAIK, is connecting a USB cable to the 2nd gen 360. The 1st gen had contacts on it underneath the band for a homemade USB cable to connect for bootloader unlocking. I haven't seen any teardowns of the new 360 yet, but it is believed that the contacts might be underneath the back panel.

Yeah, i wish someone who has a spare watch is around, for tweaking. Even I couldn't find a teardown.

I wish I could tear down my 360, would have definitely done it if I had a spare. My first smartwatch, and I don't want to do something that has unknown conclusions yet. Anyhow, let's see if someone here could do it. Nice share, BTW. :highfive:

[Solved]Mi Box MDZ-16-AB USB port not functioning with flash drive or peripherals.

BI purchased two separate mi boxes. One from Walmart and one from xiaomi. Neither have a functioning USB port for a flash drive, hard drive or keyboard.
Has anyone else experienced this issue. I've contacted their support but they haven't gotten back yet.
Solved: Had to disable USB debugging

Moto Z and OTG storage

Does anyone have luck to use a USB stick with the Moto Z?
I have an USBc to microUSB adapter
And I am trying to connect this Stick
But without any luck.
This stick works fine on my PC/ Laptop/ Samsung tablet and Note Edge.
Any ideas?
I cannot seem to find any info regarding the MotoZ and OTG connectivity.
Is that a known Motorola problem/limitation?
Thx.

Filers that read our phone's OTG (ZPlay here) are few. Get File Commander, the new Solid, some like Total Commander but it has to make a duplicate.
Music not so much. The filers can hand off to players. But good 192 k and play through there is none. There is Poweramp for play through and hopefully the next version will allow Android 192k. USB Audio PP will not see OTG (plays 192).

It is a limitation that started with MM. DEVs are daunted by the new requirements to get it going.
Thanks. I appreciate your response.
I am not so concerned about the 'filer'- as you call it, I used Root explorer. Neither does the ZPlay do anything fore, as I am using the MotoZ
Thanks.
I was referring to the fact that my OTG storage does not show up on the device.
That's why I asked if anyone had luck on the Moto Z to access an external USB stick.

It's the micro USB to USB C adapter. You need to buy a USB C OTG cable.

Is it the touch, LCD, or both that do not work? If it's both and there is a password, you may not be able to enable USB debugging.
