both sim to support 4G/3G - Sony Xperia XA Ultra Questions & Answers

hello everyone,
I wanna ask how to make sim 1 support 4G and sim 2 also support 4G or at least 3G?
Sony has blocked using sim 2 to work as 4G or 3G it works as 2g only.
Only one sim slot can be 3G or 4G
I want to ask how to make rooted or unrooted xa ultra dual support 4G / 3G on both sim slot simultaneously.

Is there a device that is directly active dual sim 3G on both sim without the switch?
I think the perception of 3G dual sim masing2 can use the 3G connection switches. only a single 3G sim which support 3G and one 2G (edge only) Is it true? Please guidance from colleagues

Standby SIM | 2G Only?

The preferred SIM is able to pick anything from 2G to 4G, but that causes the standby SIM to have only 2G as a "Preferred Network Type" option.
Is this normal behavior? I made sure the documentation didn't limit the radios on the standby SIM before getting this phone because my one of my carrier does not support 2G, only GSM and LTE.
The SIM works great if I select it as the preferred SIM since it then goes on 3G, but goes back to "Emergency Only" when not preferred.
Is this a hardware limitation on the chipset? I know some other phones are like that (ZenFone 2 for example) but it clearly specifies that limitation on the box. I was expecting both sim cards to be on 3G.
That's dual sim dual stand by on 4g you mean? Forget about it is only marketing on this phone and much other. I have 2 sim from same provider and both 4g or 3g but only one work at same time another has no service same on my LeTv x600. ?

It seems there is much confusion about the DUAL SIM. Maybe I can help... If you insert 2 SIM Cards the following happens, you must choose which card SIM1 or SIM2 will be used for Data Services. Both slots support LTE but only one can be active at the time. Otherwise, both SIM Cards are indeed active (means they support calls and SMS) however the SIM that is not used for Data Service will be "only" shown as GSM (G) while the other will show LTE (4G) in the status bar. Since most providers use GSM for phone calls anyway (regardless of the data connection) your SIM should work both as active and second. Having said all the above, yes, the option for the standby SIM is only 2G - which is really GSM for that matter (or G in the status bar).
GGranello I am not agree with you. In my case provider is not over 2G service only 3G and 4G and have only 2100 band so one of two SIM is with NO SERVICE (of course I can choose The active SIM) but both doesn't work in same time. And for video calls 3G is needed am I wrong? I want to say that on GSM you can't make video calls.

Mr. Claude, my description was meant to explain the way the Phone seem to handle the dual SIM. If Your provider supports ONLY calls over 3G and 4G than you will be out of luck using that SIM as secondary. My (I agree limited) understanding is that GSM providers must support GSM calling in any case but that may be no longer the case. I have used the Phone with 2 SIM cards for quite some time now, one with LTE for Data and the other for Calls and SMS and I had no issues. I have not tried any Video Calls as the prices are quite high here, it is my understanding that you need a 3G (or better) connection for those. And even with Android 6, the P9000 does not seem to support VoLTE calling either.
Yes I am agree with you that this phone does not support VoLTE but neither two 4G or 3G SIM from same Network Provider working together or "DUAL STANDBY"
I have owned a number of dual SIM phones and all of them supported 2G/3G/(4G) on one SIM but only 2G on the other. Before the latest MTK SOCs, it was generally the case that SIM slot 1 would support 2G and 3G (and maybe 4G) and slot 2 only 2G. Now it is possible to swap the SIM functions via the settings menu, but one of the SIMs will still be restricted to 2G.
If your SIMs are both from a provider which doesn't support 2G, like Hutchison Three in the UK, then I'm afraid you will only be able to use one of them at a time. There may be dual SIM phones that support 2G/3G/4G on both SIMs at the same time, but I haven't come across one.
Yep me don't even knowing or heard about one phone that's working with both SIM cards on 4G in same time and actually have 3 phones in my hands all 4G and dual SIM and not work either with 2 SIM on 4G in same network.

Lg v10 h962 dual sim not standby

Hello my everybody, Happy July 4th to you all.
Please does any V10 H962 owner experience this same issue?
Please do you have an idea of what might be wrong with my phone. My dual sim is no long standby. Sim 1 usually get 4G LTE and Sim 2 Gets 3G and 2G voice. Now I can only use either Sim 1 or Sim 2 at once. When One sim on 4G LTE, the second sim will Not get signal/coverage until I switch back to other one. Pls what can I do? I have migrated from MM to Lollipop, still the same issue.
Please any help will appreciated.
In which country are you living?
Most of the mobile carriers are switching off 2g networks. So make sure they are not doing so in your country.
The Lg V10 dual sim puts one sim on 4g and the other on 2g, since the 2g Network is shut off the phone has not signal on the second sim card.
I think it's time to get a new phone that supports 4g on both sims or 4g/3g

Dual sim Settings

Hello guys, i use 2 sim and i want to ask how i make the sim 1 3g and the sim 2 4g?
Ok i found it, Enable Dual 4G mode

Dual 4G setting

Hello, I have a question about the dual 4G setting before buying this phone.
I know it's a dual 4G standby, but can you confirm that system auto switch network on secondary sim when receiving or sending MMS ? Is it fast ? Does 2nd sim use 4G in this case ? Does system auto come back to 1st sim after ?
Actually my 2016 dual sim phone can only use 4g for 1 sim, so when I receive mms on sim 2, network is only 2G/edge
so I confirm that dual 4g option allow 4g mms on the two sim cards
