Hi everyone, i think many of us aren´t very happy with the headphone volume of our device
Yesterday i´ve been looking for a solution, and when trying to install viper4android it made my speaker sound very distorted, i made wipes/factory reset from twrp and the sound didn´t come back to normal, and i´m afraid of flashing after seeing that some devices hard bricked when tried to flash
Any help?

You can uninstall the driver from the app and the sound should come back to stock.
Always make backups when you play with the system files to avoid problems like this.

You can ask users for a TWRP backup of the system for your phone.
It's strange that you don't have a good sound with V4A, you disabled all stock equalizers and sound enhancements when using it?
For me the Ultra have a very good sound compared to the XA and don't really need V4A.

I partially solved the problem deleting the audio config files on system, still working to find a complete solution, I'll post it in case of someone make the same mistake

I am 100% Agreed with you!
I came from other brand of android devices before I fall in to this Xperia. doesn't matter what brand, I always feel kinda missing something on the audio section and always end up flashing my devices with Xperia walkman Mod, Z5 sound mod or whatever as long it's came from xperia native audio.
Doesn't matter what is your headset, it always delivered the level of audio comfort i've desired
I believe Xperia SoundEnhancement's was build dedicated to Music Audio Quality :good::good::good:
Now on Xperia XA Ultra, I just tweak a little enhancement replacing the original system/ app/ soundenhancement.apk with the one that came from Z5.
it has DSEE HX to enjoy the ULTIMATE Audio experience on Spotify

i love your phone mahn, i also had a xperia xa ultra F3212 at the time of orginal post. but it died a terrible death. it drowned to death poor phone.
i loved its design. that big screen and everything.

Hello everyone, I am back with another mod/port for our Xperia 2011 devices.
I Gagan Singh proudly presenting my port of S-Force Front 3D Surround Sound for all Xperia 2011 devices.
S-Force is basically an audio effect only for speaker (Like xLOUD and ClearPhase) and basically, what it does is it "Virtually reproduce 3D sound naturally and realistically. THIS EFFECT IS ONLY FOR INTERNAL SPEAKER LIKE XLOUD AND CLEARPHASE!!!
This mod is originally ported by ZeroInfinity. He ported S-Force Front 3D Surround Sound to Xperia Z/ZL devices running on JB from the Xperia Tablet Z Firmware and I took his permission to use his mod and port it on our Xperia 2011 devices running ICS.
This mod will enable S-Force Front 3D Surround Sound in your device along with full xLoud and ClearPhase working (you have to follow steps to enable xLoud).
It should work on all Xperia based firmware roms (NOT AOSP! because you guys don't have walkman)
It should be system wide for speaker like xLOUD and ClearPhase
Please don't ask if it works for a specific rom, try before asking.
Before putting my work into your ROM, ask me first and let me know.

2) Download and put it on your SD card.
3) reboot in recovery
4) flash this mod.
5) Wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot your device.
STEPS TO COMPLETELY ENABLE xLOUD and ClearPhase:
A. IF YOU WANT TO LISTEN MUSIC IN PHONE'S EXTERNAL SPEAKER:
1. Stop playing music on Walkman (or any other player that is using SoundEnhancement as default equalizer).
2. Goto settings->Music effects->Select Music FX.
3. Now open walkman and play any song and you can hear sound difference with xLoud and ClearPhase.
B. IF YOU WANT TO LISTEN MUSIC IN HEADPHONES:
1. Stop playing music on Walkman (or any other player that is using SoundEnhancement as default equalizer).
2. Goto settings->Music effects->Select SoundEnhancement.
3. Now open walkman and play any song and you can hear sound difference in headphones.
Note: When the effect is enabled, your speaker will have a lower volume (Even with xLOUD enabled) but you should hear a surround sound improvement/audio difference in the speakers.

You are right, and so LWW users can check and report it because it has dual speakers.
Also, practically this mod should work on all 2012 Xperia devices.
About xLoud, it is working for me by changing Music effects to MusicFX.

For the people out there who think that the stereo volumes on aosp roms and the likes are too low compared to the sense roms, here is the solution.
Flash this package:

Once you've flashed this you need to select Noozxoide in:
Settings -> Sound -> Music effects
Choose Noozxoide EIZO-rewire PRO Series (obviously)
Now you can play with the settings which you find best suited for your music taste. Open up the Noozxoide app!
Now you see this menu:

I tried this, because the sound volume of the AOKP rom i use from maxwen is my only problem at the moment (normal speaker on the front). I often can't hear people on the phone well enough when there is some noice from e.g. streets.
So finding this let me hope, but after activating Noozxoide and setting volume enhancer to max I could not hear any differences... :\

Thanks for the feedback, think I know what the problem is.. the enhancements are only made to the speaker on the backside and not to the speakers on the frontside
So this mod might not be what you're looking for but would be more suited for people that listen to music or something through their speakers, sorry mate!

I think we can only hope the correct drivers become available one day so that AOSP based roms have better audio. I've tried all kinds of apps and mods, some work a little but generally I find it just makes the speaker even more tinny sounding.

Since this is a flashable zip, you can not uninstall it...
Guys! This will not work with the new AOSP roms! The audio drivers were fixed and we don't use the ICS blobs from the HOX anymore, therefore making this mod useless.
P.S.: To uninstall just dirty flash your rom again without wiping, there is indeed no uninstall script.

Sorry the files get replaced so there's no way to revert back..thats why I said make a backup before flashing. You'll have to flash your rom again to revert to stock

I have no idea as I haven't tried the above combination. But this is worth a try, you can't compare unless you've tried it out [emoji12]
unfortunally the mod doesnt work here on my blisspop cm12 rom, and the bluetooth audio gets completely broken with that mod .

What do you mean it doesn't work? Like no sound or you can't hear a difference? I didn't test Bluetooth audio but I'll look into the problem

Tested with speakers and there wasnt that mich difference and with BT audio it didnt even play , gave me FC with every music APP .

This is a ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 TWRP recovery Installation zip designed specifically for the Honor 8 device.
The ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 apk will be installed to /system/priv-app/ViPER4Android and the driver will be preinstalled via the /system/lib/soundfx library and the appropriate entries into both audio_effects.conf files in /system/etc and /system/vendor/etc.
This is labeled "for Honor 8" because of the stock Honor 8 audio_effects.conf files being used in this recovery Installation zip so that I could have control of ViPER4Android in the effects chain.

We're talking headphone audio, the bottom speaker still sounds Meh compared to my moto x style.
With my superlux 661 was thrilled to use it all of last night listening to live concerts from in flames, Phil colins, thin lizzy and lynyrd skynyrd, I was really enjoying my self, the missus not so much HA!

The audio_effects configs are likely the same as the Honor 8, but you can be the first tester of ARISE Sound Systems™ Deuteronomy™ 1.1. I made a ton of changes to properly handle Qualcomm™ and non-Qualcomm™ devices. :good:

It should work
I was thinking about this phone but seeing that it was a hassle to unlock bootloader and root pushed me away...
I searched Viper and found this and gives me reason to seriously consider. I MISS VIPER. Did not have it on S7 Edge and seems buggy on my secondary phone BLU R1 HD... I miss Viper! I may just get this phone now!

Root and BL unlock are super easy on this phone...but the ROM dev is virtually non-existent. Still, a great phone for the time being for me anyway.
@guitardedhero there is a big difference between this mod and ARISE?

I try ARISE but I prefere stock Huawei music player. How to unistall It? I try with Solid browser but the app still appear in app string and the icon is in my home screen.
The problem is that the New music player rename Viper4Android to Viper4arise and stock player don't sound anymore.
Try to unistall the player and Viper4arise folder don't work. I had to restored a backup to have a working music player.
Another solution for futures issues??
Anyway, viper4android works great, makes honor 8 sound wonderful

You need to hear a difference even with notification sound
Refer to this frequency response curve.
My audio settings, and poweramp settings are included. I don't use both at the same time. Also, if an equalizer app isn't causing a lower volume, it's giving you a placebo effect and a ton of distortion.

this indeed sounds good, i only used system wide one . i dont use poweramp
Poweramp Equalizer. I think it is the best Equalizer for wide system bass efficiency from speakers. S23 ultra.

so, if I don't wanna use an app, but only the system EQ, what settings do you recommend? I want deep bass but also loudness; thanks!
...nevermind; i followed post #1 instructions, I finally understood that I should make both adjustments and I used the moded/pro version of flat eq (app)
so, regarding the setting in post #1 (flat EQ + internal EQ): not happy at all; I tested them and I had a lot of distortions at volume above 70%; so, I tested other solutions that were presented by the same german forum and I am much more happy with this one (only internal EQ, no external app):
Dolby Atmos: ON (Auto)
EQ: as in image
Adapt Sound: ON, MAX (>60) - only for headphones

Some questions about this.
On the Adapt sound part. Im guessing you mean MAX (for 60+ years old sound adjustment?)
Secondly, In there you also have the option to change between 'Clear' and 'Soft' sound if you press the settings wheel beside the 60+ option. which one should it be there?
And lastly. When you say "only for headphones", do you mean the option 'Only for Media', where you can choose only for media or media/calls?

Previously used wavelet but tried Poweramp based off of your comment, tweaked some presets to my taste and got blown out of the water by the sound output from his app. The flat equalizer I tried as well was nowhere compared to poweramp. I quickly bought the app. It got shït ton of options at your disposal to produce crisp sound with punchy bass.
Viper4Android & RE Equalizer
These are in a league of their own for volume/ base enhancement, including system-wide effects.
I don't like this setting, too oriented towards high and mid.
But I guess is about taste.
