Not possible. To do a nandroid backup to need to flash TWRP. To flash TWRP you need unlocked bootloader. Also TWRP can't backup encrypted data.

Not a full 1:1 copy. Choices are limited to play store apps such as Helium and copying pictures to PC or uploading to cloud.

How to restore apps and data

SO i made a backup with titanium backup of everything and manually made a copy of my internal sd. I flashed to 1.8.3 stock and then to the pudding enabled 2.3.4. What is the best way to get all of my stuff back? In the future, what is the best way to backup and restore everything easier? I have heard of this nandoid thing? What is that?

just use titanium backup to restore it for now
Well, I understand that with a nandroid backup it will restore my phone to the exact same state? If I want to switch between roms in the future, is this the best way to maintain data across roms?

i beleive nandroid is a full system backup so it may be better not familiar i use ttb
Titanium Backup - Backs up your Apps + Data
Nandroid Backup - Takes an image of your phone, which can be restored at any time. Essentially everything will be exactly the same when you restore the backup.

Most likely a stupid question.

If I backup only my data through Amon Ra, then flash a new Rom (after wiping everything) can I restore my data over the rom?
I've never tried anything like that (due to previously using CWR)
Thanks
not sure but the easy way i know how to do this is use titanium backup to back up everything and when u restore just restore the data

That sucks.
Thanks anyways
But don't restore data from one ROM to a different ROM. That can mess things up.

[Q] [SOLA] Nandroid backup and TA partition

Hello,
I have rooted my stock ROM for xperia Sola and have successfully installed CWM recovery. Now, if I create a complete Nandroid backup, will it also save my DRM keys? I want to unlock the bootloader, but I don't want to lose the DRM keys. I know about the program Backup-TA, but I was wondering if a nandroid backup saves them as well.
Any help is appreciated!
Nope. A Backup only backups your system, boot.img (Kernel), cache and data

This is possible using a few different solutions:
Helium (formerly Carbon, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup)
Holo Backup (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36499906#post36499906)
Android Ultimate Backup Tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844032)
Android Ultimate Backup gets my vote.
ADB is your friend lol
why not download some adb script to backup your phone?
or just do some research on adb backup command

Nandroid backups

Can i use nandroid backups to switch systems
Like to switch back after trying a new rom without pc
If by nandroid you mean TWRP backups, then yes.
Like flash rros and then use the backup to return to stock with all my files and apps?
Yes a nandroid backup (aka twrp backup) saves a snapshot of the system in time so it doesn't matter what you do afterwards, once you restore the backup your device will go back to the same exact spot as it was the time when you'd taken the backup. Also when you often hear ppl say take backup before trying new update/rom/zip, this is exactly what they mean.
And yes you don't need pc as long as you can access your backup through otg USB/memory card etc.

Take care to backup the system image and not system. And use the same version of TWRP for backing up and restoring. Both these are not a must but to be on the safer side.
