Can i convert a US version device to Europe? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I was wondering if is possible to flash Europe's model Firmware on US model, and get the device work?
I want to do this because I am in Europe and I cannot connect to LTE networks because my oneplus X is US version. So I want to change the firmware to european version to be able to connect to band 3 - 1800Mhz networks that are not supported on US version.
If this is not possible, is there any solution to change the frequency and the band of the device?
Thank you

The firmware is the same. It's the hardware that change.
You can't do anything about that I'm afraid..

Sorry forgot to mention that it's the antenna :

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I saw this article : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-unlock-additional-lte-bands-t3519563
and that is why I was wondered if is possible to work on our onyx device.

I knew it was possible on some Xiaomi devices too, but I didn't know some OP could do it too...

[Q] T-01C Radio Band help !

Sorry to post T-01C question in TG01 forum. This Android phone is from NTT Docomo , and in China we use a cracked SIM sticker ( Mr SIM ) to cheat the network so as to make phone calls. But today I accidently chose the Radio Band GSM/UMTS as USA band, now I cannot switch it back and lost and network connection. I know you guys have been using T-01C’s Android Kernel to develop TG01’s Android Rom, could anyone give me some suggestion how to get the right Radio back? When the radio is on there is only one option US band to select; if radio is off, there are more options like AU , JAPAN band etc., but no matter which one I choose, just cannot set it successfully even the system is rooted.
T-01C have been updated in May from OS 2.1 to 2.2 while Radio from 5011.1906.50 to 5014.1906.11. Now I download the 2.2 ROM from official website and try to use T01C_SWUpdater01.apk to flash, it fails because I already use the latest OS.
Could anyone help me on this? Thanks for reading!

Need help to choose best firmware and baseband version for Moto E xt1527

Hi, I need help.
So, I bought 2 moto E 2015 model (at&t unlocked) from Ebay - very cheap.
But this phones working with only 2G mode in my country (even theese are LTE models ).
I want to reinstall system to better one - which there is no any at&t default applications or any of carrier applications.
And I also want to change baseband versions - because, this phone working only with 2G network type with my country's mobile carriers. I think it should be for baseband (network standarts) .
is it possible to fix problem with change firmware and baseband to no-contract version?
I asked my mobile carrier, they said, "we are using 900-1800 MHZ for GSM ; 900-2100 for 3G, 2100 for LTE (up to 2100)
Who can provide how to and links?
Thanks.
The AT&T model cannot be bootloader unlocked, so you cannot change the firmware to another version. There's a guide in the General forum about enabling additional LTE bands, you can try tweaking it for 3G, but there's no guarantee that the AT&T model's antenna hardware can support those bands.

LG v10 korean version-flash or not

Hi to all!
This is my first post here.
Couple days ago i purchased LG v10 (F600L) with 64GB of ROM! This is korean model from network U+.
I live in Croatia so I can't use some features from phone, and it's not the major problem.
I wonder if is possible to flash phone with H960 firmware? Via LGUP app from my PC? Is it problem because my phone has no unlocked bootloader and in some posts on the internet I readed I can brick up my phone.
4G does not work either. Probably only korean version of LTE, not supported in Croatia.
So, if I do firmware upgrade via LGUP, with euro-version, will I get phone with only 32GB, will LTE bands be opened to euro-networks?
I didn't say that I can't upgrade my korean version to Android 6.0, via OTA or LG Bridge. It says Cannot check the latest firmware.
So, guys, to do it or stay out of any attempting?
Thanks and regards from Dubrovnik!
Is it true that noone knows?
Cannot, ne mozes! Just try to read a little more about it.
If you click the link you can see there is support for 4G in Croatia.

I can see Croatian operators can offer me LTE 1800mHz only.
So, in suburbs of croatian big cities I have LTE, but only in streets, outside places etc. Whei I enter in some bar or restaurant, LTE wanishes.
I'm on VIPnet Croatia which provides LTE 800/1800. It seems my Korean V10 works only on 1800.
Too bad. Cause, it's good phone. I upgraded recently to Android 6.0 (MM) via link on this forum and it works even better than on 5.1.
On posts on this forum(s) I can see that my device cannot be flashed with another firmware. I've downloaded Turkish version (64GB) but LG UP says Error. It seems I have to root my device, but even than, it's not for sure that all LTE bands will working.
Koreans made the mess by locking with brandings their devices.
@moby77: for what I know, you can't flash a different firmware... a brick is nearly assured.
But you can try this code: 5457#*600# then go to Multi Band Selection and check LTE bands that are available in your Country.
Don't know if that procedure works in your device, but it well worth a try!

I am not sure but most probably flashing wrong firmware will brick the phone. However, one thing I am sure is just flashing the firmware on different version never unlocks the bands of 3G/LTE. These bands cannot be unlocked this way. If F600L does not support a particular band in your country, it will not run LTE no matter what firmware you flash.
F600L is very well locked by Koreans so I san't do anything except flashing new kind of firmware, but one provided from U+ network.
One day I got mad, so I used LG UP, downloaded firmware for Turkish H960, and pressed Start button (it really was pissed off so even I bricked phone, my fault. Totaly insane, but...). After 4% od doing "something" it said Error, cannot flash firmware! (or something like this).
Official os
you have H901-10c official os bcz when i upgred using LGUP my phone is not starting as well as not showing charging sign when i am connect my charger

4G band firmware or hardware?

Hi
bought a p20 lite LX3 in USA, which it's not prepared for 4G bands here in Spain as per link and image information
https://www.kimovil.com/es/frequency-checker/ES/huawei-p20-lite
Does anybody know that if I apply a stock custom rom from LX1 model the 4G bands will work? or it's an issue that it's non solvable through firmware?
Thanks in advance

dont know if using stock custom rom will help, but, with my old p9 , wen i instaled android 8 china version, phone didnt connect to operator, only when i patched it with europe network patch, all bands worked as needed for me, but ofcorse, its european phone with china software, so i guess it is software related not hardware!

Question US modem question

Has anyone tried changin the chinese version xqbc72 firmware and able to enable the modem freqs for here in the US?
basically changing the chinese to a US model with 5g enabled.
My understanding is that it is not just software that enables carrier bands, but it is also a hardware limitation along with the proper firmware. If possible I would recommend you stick with a US version for the US...besides you may need the warranty.
