[FIX][REBOOT TO RECOVERY]redmi 3s/3s prime - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone, I've been seeing a lot of people having trouble rebooting into the recovery from the rom, specially these new builds based on kernel source.
So, here I am sharing a fix for it.
[BOLD] Steps:[/BOLD]
1. Download
2. Flash from twrp.

Hope this helps a lotta people. As it was pretty bumming to use the hardware keys all the time.
Cheers!
PS: Its a reshare from xiaomihubs.blogspot
Happy flashing!

It is working. You don't need to use buttons. Just boot into recovery from advanced reboot menu. And that's it!

Flash this after you flash the rom. Then
Enable advanced reboot from developer options in settings. And press reboot in power menu, and select recovery.
That's it! No need for hardware buttons!

I think I've seen a v39 modem on 4pda.ru but couldn't get to download. Don't know what's the difference though
Edit: @WickedCool19 The link you provided seems to be the complete modem. There is a smaller file with just the fix.

You could put this in the first post.

[SOLVED] CWM recovery problem

Hi, people.
I have a bit of a problem. I can't enter cwm while starting the phone(LWW). I'm pushing the volume down key constantly when blue led turns on. I can enter cwm from xparts and cwm reboot option from nofication bar. The worst part is that it worked before. Please help. I want to put puremiui, but I don't won't to do it before I fix this, because I'm scared if I do something wrong and I want to run the backup stock rom I couldn't. Sorry for my English I'm from Croatia.
Re: CWM recovery problem

Just try pressing vol up or power button or try vol up+down alternatively and see if it works...Just backup all ur apps and data using tb and try flashing stock rom again and then install CWM again if possible and see if it works or u can simply unlock ur bl and install custom kernels which will definitely work
Best Regards,
AJ

It would be great if I unlock bl, but there's no free way to do that and I feel that I don't need it right now. If there won't be any suggestions that would solve the problem I think it's time to say goodbye to my money and unlock bl.

Nope bl can be unlocked for free if you do not have a simlock :good: Just go to dialer and type *#*#7378423#*#* and go to service info->Configuration and see what is written below rooting status?

Try pressing vol up/down, power button and touch the sony logo simultaneously. Even I had this problem half an hour ago on my Xperia S and fixed it by doing the above.

Volume keys doesn't work either? WTF, never heard that!!! If that rom has is own kernel (boot.img) inside the zip (rom), flash it & report if it works, please.

Let me clarify...volume keys work...home key works...Only back does not work
some threads talked about repeated press of volume keys will solve the back button issue. Thats what i meant, when i said volume key not working. Sorry for the confusion.
Any how still the issue of back button is there...

Ok, don't know how to solve that issue. Try what I said above or try Mesa kernel v4.3 ( not v4.4 version).

ROM did not had a boot.img file and hence tried Mesa 4.3.. Issue remains the same...no response for touch screen in TWRP and no response for back button in CWM..
Issue remains...

Like I said, never heard that. Maybe reflashing the rom or trying another rom to see if the issue persists.

Tried stock ROM as well as others...same issue...would be great if any version of CWM has "back" link as well.
Touch screen as well as capacitive screen dont work in CWM at all
solved!
Finally i had to go to CWM5 based kernel for this get solved. looks like for CWM6 and LWW, separate key mapping for back button is needed in CWM. Radeon 4.0 kernel had power button mapped to back action and it worked well.

Help with menu option for Boot to Recovery

I have the optimus g with snow jb and is there a way to put a boot to recovery option in the power button menu? And i can get to the bootloader text but i don't see an option to boot into recovery, is there a way? I have twrp 2.6. Thanks in advance.

The menu options are hidden, I believe it was pressing vol down twice, then power and it would boot recovery. I'll find you a link to a newer bootloader also that actually has menus you can see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43492090#post43492090
From houstonn's rootbox thread. I've been using it, there's also the new 4.3 bootloader posted in that thread, but I haven't flashed it so I can't comment on if its necessary or useful, etc.

Twrp will not boot with volume up and power

Have latest twrp flashed and I have root. I have flashed several roms. My only issue is I can only get to twrp through fastboot. What am I missing? When I use volume up and power it just has the MI logo and does nothing
Try another recovery like redwolf. Its quite good (twrp+nifty little features tht you'll love)
