How do I enable vibration for stock samsung keyboard? When I press a button, even the back or the multi-tasking button it is not vibrating back, and I don't know hot to enable this. SOMEONE PLS HELP!! Thanks in advance!

I just installed Google keyboard.
Even then the bottom keys do not cause vibrate.
A bit disappointed there is no micro USB to USB C adapter included. Had to buy off eBay £1.

It can be enabled with 3rd party apps.

Turn off keyboard vibration?

Is there a way to turn off keyboard vibration without having to turn all haptic feedback off in the main android settings? I know I could switch keyboards but I like the s pen detection in the samsung keyboard. I also prefer to have the Baltic feedback for the capacitive home buttons.
Anyone? Just looking for a little help here. Even if it is an advanced solution like changing a line in the build prop...
I don't know which keyboard your using but Swype and stock is settings language and keyboard then select which (like Swype) then the turn of vibration on key pressed. If helped give me a thanks please.

I am using the stock samsung keyboard. I like this keyboard because it has the s pen recognition. Simply stated when I hold the s pen to a text box it will allow me to write my entry. Other third party keyboards do not have this option. So either I have to live with the vibration in the samsung keyboard to keep s pen functionality on the fly or use a different keyboard and lose that feature. I for one have been putting the spen to use big time. There is an app called writepad which does the same thing but it is $10 and I can not stomach that at this time until for sure I know there is no way to disable vibration feedback from the samsung keyboard minus the known method of turning all haptic feedback off on the device.
okay. i screen captured it.

Thank you for the response. I was aware of this, my issue here is that I then no longer have the haptic feedback for the capacitive buttons. I only want to turn off the keyboard vibration and no other vibration. For now I am just living with it. I bought the $10 application writepad however it's handwriting recognition was terrible compared to the smasung keyboard.

TV out

Hi guys
I am using a MHL - HDMI cable for TV out and it all works quite well. Infact quite impressed by the quality of it. But having one problem though, unable to swith off the display while connected to TV. I wish there is an app or something to turn the mobile display off. Do you guys know any app like that?
I found video players which could reduce the brightness but nothing to turn off the display..
I don't want to kill the display just by keeping it on all the time.
Very good question!

I haven't tried but can you just lock the phone? Or does that kill MHL out too?

There's an app called 'lux auto brightness' by Vito cassisi and it can make your phone go so dark, it looks like it's turned off. There a manual setting you can use. I use it all the time to conserve battery

That's an example of how dark it gets and if you look closely you can see my icons and circle battery clock to prove it's not off
Thanks shadowskorch, looks like a good app. I tried root dim, though it was able to reduce the brightness it was still very visble unlike your one.
Hi Dazedstate
No if you lock the phone, you will loose the signal. The cable is mirroring the phone screen.
What would be good though is to cut the screen out if connected to MHL cable, have no idea how hard this would. I will check with our super developers.

APEX LAUNCHER -- doubt

Hi there,
I just bought my samsung galaxy S3 and installed the Apex launcher. The fact is that I've seen that below the dock there could be some options of widgets I believe. I 'm trying to find in settings how to add them and nothing. I don't even know the name of those apps. Could anybody let me know how to enable them? .
Thank you

The dock will only show 1x1 widgets I believe. Like a mail widget that is an icon that shows unread messages for example. or like the icon widget in handcent that shows how many unread text messages you have. You add it to your homescreen and you should then be able to drag it to the dock.
Thank you for your reply, however, what I actually meant is below the dock. I am attaching you a picture so you can take a look. It's like the dock goes up a little bit and then below you have 3 options. Any ideas?

That's a Galaxy Nexus. It has on-screen buttons. Those are the on-screen buttons.

Yes, they are on screen buttons, not a dock, you cant add widgets there. If you have the GS3 it looks like you're running AOKP maybe and enabled the onscreen navigation. However, with AOKP you can create more buttons on the nav bar to open up certain apps, or perform certain functions. for that you go to settings, rom control and then navigation. Then you will see you can add more custom nav buttons

[Q] Misterious car dock (car home) icon when cable connected?

Dear Folks!
There is an annoing problem where I need your experience!
I use CM10.1. Some time after fresh flashing, this issue comes over and over again.
When I plug my phone to charge, car dock icon appears in the notification bar.
(I don't have car dock, phone has never sit in car dock candle!)
This icon shows and hides randomly and my phone reboots sometimes.
I don't know why is it happening.
I don't have car dock. I use only a simple USB cable with adaptor.
I tried many roms before, and other cable too, doesn't work.
Please help me, if you can!
* Edit 1 *
I mentioned this icon as "car dock" but it's name is "car home".
* Edit 2 *
Last night I have experienced this issue I found the only way to charge my phone. This method very simple. Restart S3 to recovery mode (TWRP). In recovery mode, phone will charge without problems (w/o reboot and freeze). Morning I disconnected my phone, restarted - afterwards I haven't got this charging problem again! I'm testing now.
Other forum says, you just have to clean microUSB socket. My phone was clear, but it could be a solution too.
Can you just post it one screenshot with this "car dock icon" ? TY

This is exactly what I want to do. But this issue not comes over since morning. I try to rebbot and plug the device on charger and USB cables. I don't know why, but it is now stable. I must wait until it comes over again. I am ready for it, installed screenshot app and logcat.
I just found an external image where you can see that icon too. That is the third icon on the screenshot.

how to control motor on my android board

I inherited for work an android board that moves 2 motors, I have to basically move the motors trough software,
How can I find out how the current system is moving the motors?
I have rooted the OS to have more control, the system is running with a custom launcher, there is a button that activates google assistant after that is active, the order to move the motor can be given.
I need to find the way that the DC motor is being moved?, can I intercept the method?
is looking at the pins that go to the DC motor any help?
the board runs android and is like a normal tablet, it just moves 2 DC motors, I took it apart to see how the motors were moving?

- other technique?
I hope this is the correct place to ask for help?
Thanks
I have images of the board, but as I have less than 10 posts, cannot add linik

what techniques exist to send a signal to turn on a dc motor with android embedded system?
I mean the driver chips that turn the motor, the signal will come from somewhere right?
does it matter at the hardware level?
like addressing a pin or a GPIO in a raspi?
the software that moves the motor is an activity that interacts with the googlesearchbox
that could be other way to intercept the command turning the motor on/off.
Any ideas, please?
