Hey guys!! so earlier I have come up with Dolby Atmos mod for Samsung Nougat devices, but it still bugged me that Viper4Android was not working!! So after countless hours of brainstorming, I finally got viper4android to work on Nougat!!
So here you go!! Also works with my Dolby Atmos!
Tested devices:
- S6 edge+
- Note 5

Requirements:
- Samsung device
- Nougat rom (N-lite V3 rom users, please wait for V4 rom. Pre-installed busybox on V3 interferes with viper driver installation)
- Rooted by Magisk (Dolby does not need root. Only viper needs root by magisk)
Installation instructions:
- Flash attached viper zip file and UPDATE zip file in TWRP. Users already using this mod, please see update instructions below.
- Reboot
- Install Busybox by Meefik here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox&hl=en
- Open Viper4android app and install drivers if it prompts.
- Enjoy!! Flash DolbyAtmos zip if you want
Update instructions:
- Uninstall Viper4android drivers from the menu in Viper4android app.
- Flash the update zip.

Go to settings > app manager > Viper4android > permissions > and give it storage permissions. That will solve your issue!

Thanks dude for your hard work.Can you make Divine beats 9.0 work for note 5 nougat.Especially the "Divine EQ" would be great.Not working now since selinux enforcing

I was able to port Divine Beats 9.0 to this device. But not divine EQ. The audio does sound more better on this, compared to my other mods. (at least on speakers. I didn't try with headphones) So should I make a new thread and post it??

I was only able to port Divinebeats 9.0.. Divine EQ just don't seem to work on Nougat. That app has to be rebuilt from scratch for Nougat. Anyway I have PMed the original dev for permission to post the divine beats port. Let's see

Thanks dude i think we'll wait until they port nougat than
Viper4Android has been updated to latest version. For those of you who are already using the old one, simply uninstall the Viper4android drivers from the menu of Viper4android app and flash the OTA-UPDATE zip file!
Install drivers after installing busybox by meefik (just like before) Enjoy!

You will need Magisk. Otherwise it won't work.

Changes are installed the apk will allow you tomtweak the values if you read the instructions you would have know there shouldnt be any other sound mods before you flash this...
No..i knew that..i uninstalled everything..you forgot to mention that we have to put "awesome" command in terminal emulator..anyway thanks for the app! Now its working perfect

go to system/apps using any file manager root explorer and delete musicfx and or any equaliser like DSP Manager also then reboot and then go ahead with ur flashing!
Followed instructions, installed successfully and it's "working" (as in not FC-ing), but there is no change to sound when I experiment with the settings. I'm on an HTC One running Vanilla Root Box and I chose PAC from the installer options as that seemed to be the closest ROM to mine....did I chose the wrong base or something?
So, I got this to kind of work....but now when I play music or podcasts, the volume fades in and out....anyone else experience this? I'll try it with PA because I may have picked the wrong base or something.

Fades in and out when you play/pause the music thats just an effect for pausing and playing music it's not any kind of problem dont worry mate
Edit: i also have the mod on my HTC ONE.. the fading is just an effect which i have seen many music players also have although sounds cool to me

The only time it does it is when I play a podcast via Beyond Pod....and it's a talk show I listen to, so it's distracting. That effect does not occur when using Beats on a Sense ROM, only when using DSP or Codex or this mod.

well it's the work of another Person i just shared it and know how to make it work on roms so i help around.. although i know it's an effect so that is distracting you i'll see if there is someway to fix it but i dont think it would be possible!

Great tip.
Works perfectly in my Stock ROM.
The sound of my Galaxy is just amazing with my in-ear third party Phones and Beats.
Unfortunately does not work on Stock Music Player.
Only in Google Play Music.

Hey Guys!! So I was pretty frustrated that none of the existing audio mods work on the newly released Nougat roms for S6 edge+ and Note 5 (or at least none of the existing audio mods that I have tried). So I went ahead and made my own version of Dolby Atmos mod that works on the new Nougat roms.
Should work on pretty much all the new Samsung devices on nougat, starting from the S6 and maybe even non Samsung devices.
Does not require SELinux to be permissive or anything as such. Don't Worry

Which rom are you using? Another friend of mine reported the same problem in a rom called N-lite V3 for S6 edge plus, but he reported it was working fine in Dev-base rom.
Maybe I can check and see what's wrong with your rom.
UPDATE:- Same friend has also told me that both works side by side in Arnie rom and Nemesis rom.

Does Viper work fine on this rom? If it doesn't, it could be a problem with pre-installed busybox in the rom. I will see if I can get in touch with the N-DroidMod rom developer..

I'm N-DroidMod developer rom hahaha but here I don't pre-install Busybox, I don't know of why Dolby app force close :/

Okay so what I need you to do is,
- clean install your rom.
- Root with Magisk v11.1 (if it is not already pre-rooted).
- Make sure busybox is "DISABLED" in Magisk Manager settings.

- Open the busybox app you just installed and install the busybox and reboot when it is done

- Flash CrisFix-Viper.zip followed by CrisFix-DolbyAtmos.zip

Make sure your phone is rooted by magisk. If it is rooted by SuperSU, then flash Magisk first.

Reboot your phone

Important Instructions TO ADD IRS and Profiles [Optional]:
Extract DBEngine.zip.
Open Viper, Menu>UI Settings >Expert.
Go to headphones tab, go to Impulse Responses, make sure its Enabled, then click on Impluse Response, it will tell you that the folder is empty and this will create a folder for you.
Extract DBEngine.zip
Copy the IR responses from the Kernel folder and profile from Profiles folder, and paste IRS in " /sdcard/ViPER4Android/Kernel/" and profiles in "/sdcard/ViPER4Android/Profiles/"
Check the IRS and Profiles in V4A, and Get the divine sound.

Hmm could be because the Viper4android FX used relies on Magisk. Maybe if you flash Magisk and then flash this again, it should work. But make a TWRP backup before you do anything :good:
Can you do the same for arise ?

No it does not have the beats audio interface as that is still broken on Nougat.

If you don't see Viper4android, you are probably running a rom that is rooted by superSU.
Buddy.. I've extracted the IRS files in the kernel folder following the exact same steps.. The "impulse response" pop up still says empty.. What to do?

Hello Xda Users, I am Utkarsh.
This is a magisk module. It will install sony music app to any android device. Only requirement is that you need Magisk root. As this is magisk module you don't need to worry about system space. Magisk will install app to magisk.img which is mounted in your /sbin/.core/img... This is magic of MAGISK....!
Requirement:
Magisk v15+ - Root & Universal Systemless Interface [Android 5.0+]
Procedure:
1. Download Sony-Music4Magisk using Magisk Manager App and install It
2. Reboot device.
3. Enjoy systemless sony music app... Happy flashing ...!
Uninstall:
To remove this module simply goto Magisk Manager > modules and delete "Sony Music app Magisk Module".
Download:
for previous versions "Sony-Music4Magisk -Android File Host Folder"
For Magisk v15+ : Just Goto Magisk Manager App search for Sony-Music4Magisk.. Hit Install .! That's It...!

It's giving FC or you are unable to see it in app drawer... ?
Please make sure... Magisk 12 is installed...
Also check Magisk Manager > Module > and look for "Sony Music app Magisk Module"

Hi, S8 is new device ... Let magisk update .... and if go through magisk discussion thread, you will find Samsung devices are having some issues with Magisk...
i hope next magisk update will fix this issue

Have you tried any other mod like Magisk YouTube or Magisk Greenify mod ? Please Check if problem exit for those mod also...
I m on RR 7.1.2 and Sony music mod is working great..
If possible take a catlog..

It doesn't even detect headphones. But! Bluetooth headphones work fine.

I use Korean Model and just do the Vietnam CSC and my SKC CSC worked

IronKernel (Nougat) , don't flash any kernel the rom came with kernel already

S9+ camera it's not really a bug , you can still use N8 camera .
Intelligent scan also ... not needed for daily use

maybe some people want to use Intelligent scan and need this.
about the camera i agree, yet so people won't have hope to get the new camera app.
the only reason i won't install now is the headphone for me... can't live without this

of course, agree with you, but inteligent scan not present in N8 7.1.1 and S9 camera useless for the moment
anyway I use a bt headphone .. this is why I say dayli use is ok for me

SPen still works on this ROM, I have just tested it and the menu comes up.
