[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1][TEST] OmniRom for Galaxy Tab A 7 LTE (SM-T285) - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series ROMs, Kernels, Recover

This is a port of OMNIRom 7.1.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285. OMNIRom aims to be a community based project and is a lot "lighter" than CyanogenMod/LineageOS.
5.1.1 is the best that you can get from samsung right now and it is not known if they plan to do any upgrades. I have absolutely no idea why samsung chose to stay with the outdated 5.1.1 mid 2016 when we already got 7.1 coming out. This custom rom is probably the best you can get if you want an upgrade from Lollipop. Performance on the latest build is also better, you be the judge.
Though this is stable enough that I use it currently as my daily driver, make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom. This rom probably won't get much use out of some people until bluetooth is fixed.
Based off on OMNIRom 7.1.1 N4F260 sources which is based on Marshmallow.
For more information on OMNIRom and its features see their site here.

Omnirom Notes:
=============
- omnirom doesn't have ffmpeg libraries unlike the CM based roms, but no worries since I ported over CMs libraries here.
Works:
- Wifi/LTE/SMS (Some users report data intermittently not connecting, though toggling airplane mode on/off can fix it)
- Audio
- Graphics
- Bluetooth
- Wifi Hotspot
- MTP
Does not work:
- Calls (needs testing)
- Camera
- GPS (no fix)
- probably more (need testers)
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty. Don't expect samsung to support you if you have any issues.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section for older releases. Or click below for the latest release:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=23245
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock oranother rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. Coming from a previous version of OMNIRom for SM-T285 may not require a wipe, however please perform a wipe if you encounter problems.
Root and customization
===================
This ROM is a purely based on source and is not rooted out of the box. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.

Im Not A Developper But I'm The Closest Thing There Is To It. Il Be Running Some Tests To See If It Might Be Compatable With The Sm-t280 Model. Any Boot.Img I Should Install First?

thanks Jedid-did you have a link here for the ROM as I cannot see it (says status is testing so perhaps a placeholder?) as always great work!

It will be a long shot, there are hardware differences, but nothing stopping you from trying it. Do note that the T280 has a padded boot.img see here, which means you need to get the boot.img from this rom and add an additional header in front of it before you flash it with heimdall or odin.

thanks Jedid
will look in a couple of days when I the Tab back (gave it to a friend)
EDIT
tried the ROM today...calling is a problem (for me) tried multiple times of reboot and allowed rom to settle before making calls (4g and data in out activity was showing-could go to internet)
The call does not connect and sits in dialing mode forever...if you try to hang up it then sits in hanging up mode and will not terminate
(shows a call in progress as if it is still on)...sms works
With all credit to you and all due respect...I stopped there-
think your very FIRST Lineage 14.1 was the best in all the Nougat ROMs
(the next one had issues with the drives seen but not accessible even though the MTP thing was purported to have been solved in that one)-i.e no real files just drives with overall sizes shown and then the lockscreen issue made it unusable (the PIN and notification method was risky as swiping the notification accidentally would lead to an inaccessible phone or maybe demand a reboot)

Works for me
I don't use the Sim functionality at all, so can't comment on that. I had to try a few variations of GApps to get a working Google Play service, and finally managed with the Dynamic GApps 20170215 Minimal build. Once I got that going, everything worked well. I'm using this as my daily ROM on the tablet now, so will report any further issues I have. Just wanted to say a big thank you! This ROM is very fast and smooth.

home button to wake up device
hi, i just use this rom and its really fast..
just want to ask how to make home physical button to wake up device beside the power button ?

Original Link worked but the file i got
"omni-6.0-20161209-UNOFFICIAL-SMT285-BETA-3.tar"
did not flash, rejected by Odin.
The new one you have linked works
"omni-7.0-20170219-UNOFFICIAL-SMT285.tar"
Quick scan results:
Mem use 462mb of 1.4gb
Space use 2.71 of 7.28gb
Apps installed 17
Very Similar to Lineage "LINEAGE-OMS-14.1-20171209-UNOFFICIAL-SMT285.tar".
In fact almost exact other than a couple of megabytes and an app.
This is BEFORE SU And APP Remover has gone in to shred some files
Stock rom: Terrible
Mem use 5 TB of 1.4gb
Space use Smoke coming out of 7.28gb
Apps installed Still counting I was sure it would finish last week.

Space use 3.7gb of 7.28gb

Wow Los has finally arrived for the Jewel but my Jewel is no longer with me
I can't seems to use external sdcard as internal there's simply no option to do it while formatting. Other then this it's pretty snappy thanks again.

Thanks for testing! Try the new Nougat build—I wasn't able to move apps onto the SD card (that is a LineageOS bug), but I was able to format it as internal storage.
I couldn't install the latest build 14.1 well just keeps bootlooping at the HTC screen.
Wipe
Install latest build
Install Gapps 7.1 (tried without installing this also) still no go ?

There appears to be an error in the build. I will upload a new build within a day.
Edit: New build has been uploaded! Please report if it works.
Never thought my Jewel would ever see Nougat (let alone Lollipop or Marshmallow). Just flashed and all is working well so far. Awesome work!
God tier work here, I'm blown away. I misplaced my Moto G 3rd gen somewhere in my apartment, so I've given up and dusted off my Evo. I was set to just use the Viper 4.1.1 that was on there, but some apps weren't installing so I came on ol' XDA. This is much more than I expected, thank you.
With that said, any tips on getting this to activate on Sprint / Ting? It was working fine on the old rom, but not kicking in here.
I know this isn't totally related to this ROM, but maybe it can be. I'm having issue with this (and most other ROMs I try) where the per button works physically, but only the buttons light up. I have to press the power button several times to get the screen to wake. This isn't consistent though. Seems worse if the screen has been off for a while. Does anyone know of a fix, and if so, can it be incorporated into this ROM? I know there have other threads about this but it seems like they have been dropped.

I believe that the service must be activated on a stock ROM before flashing a custom ROM. Then, the correct APN has to be set according to the carrier under Settings > More > Cellular networks > Access Point Names.

I am not sure of a fix, and I have not encountered this issue, but have you tried enabling Wake device using the Camera button under Settings > Buttons?

I've tried that in the past. Forgot about it this time around. Tried it again and it seems to be about the same as the actual power button for getting the screen to come on correctly.
Good ol' Jewel. Is this rom working ok?
My wife is temporarily using my old Jewel because she dropped & broke her crappy samsung phone. can someone please tell me how this rom is working?
I appreciate your time!

The ROM is working fine for the most part. The battery is not great, but that may be due to the battery's age. Additionally, there is a bug with BoringSSL that sometimes prevents the Play Store or Gmail from working temporarily.
sounds good. yeah, I'm sure it's age. thanks man. take care-
Trouble with WiFi
Did a Full factory reset, installed rom, gapps, and supersu from TWRP, factory wipe again from TWRP; now the OS is installed and running but after connecting to my home network, says no internet access although the netork is up and running normally, all other devices connected. Any thoughts or suggestions. I have a backup of my previous state, so I can revert, but would like to keep this on 7.1 for consistency between this and my primary device. The primary use for this device is media streaming.

I believe that the WiFi issue have been fixed in the latest build (20170522).
Thank you for this rom!
I had been using cyanogenmod 5.0 and dirtyunicorns 5.1 both were solid roms. Unfortunately the latest apps seem to run a bit slow on them. I thought it was the device but after installing this rom everything is snappy! It manages 1gig of ram better than any other rom and that 1.5ghz dualcore still runs strong. Snapchat is way more responsive on this rom, instagram and fb run without problems. GPS, 4g, sms, wifi, camera, sd storage, everything works! I've only noticed a few bugs. The wifi activity arrows don't show when something is downloading/uploading but wifi itself does work. Also, even tho I have working active cell service, it tries to activate itself again everytime I reboot and fails but calls-sms-data continue to work lol. The biggest bug is that auto-rotation stops working after 30-60 minutes and it stays stuck on portrait mode. Nothing but a full reboot will get it working again, a quick softboot won't fix it. I've tried changing the rotation settings and also added some lines to the build.prop but no solution thus far. I love this rom so much, if it's not fixed I might try some auto rotation apps. One last thing, it would be cool if the # in the status bar would go away after I close whatever app has root. The previous rom I had did that. Thank you so much to all the developers for bringing life to this phone!

Thanks for trying out the ROM! The WiFi activity arrows are intentionally disable on LineageOS. I do not currently have an active cell service on this device, so I am unable to fix the activation bug for now. Could you flash the patch below in recovery and test if autorotation is working properly? It should also enable the option to hide the Superuser icon under "Status bar" > "System icons".

Thank you very much for your great work ? I like this rom
I will try LOS version tonight. Any known bluetooth or Mobile data issues so far ?
Thanks for the effort and appreciate the continued update for Nexus 6.
Hi, I appreciate the effort. Mind telling us the differences between ROMs though? Does the CR one have more features than the stock based Lin one? Still going to test them both but was just wondering, thanks.
mobile data is ON by default, and even when you're connected with Wifi, it still uses your data. Blew thru my 200meg Free T-mobile trying to finish an install. Also, found that NFC is turned off. Might be a driver issue.
Battery life is OK. Sound is bad on my device. Playing some youtube videos, and the sound goes from very loud, to I can barely hear it, plus the only speaker working, is the top, the bottom one cuts in and out. (at least in youtube)
not a bug report, or any disrespect to the dev. but, its just what I've had happen while using this rom.

Bluetooth issue was found for me when connected to my head unit in my truck. It's late I just got home will try to capture a log tomorrow. Other than that this rom is butter smooth, thanks for your hard work keeping our old whale swimming. Plz remove if it needs to be I won't be butthurt about it.
Xd great work!

Instructions
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
Reporting bugs:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

I can say it possibly a bad download or something on your end I flashed this last night with very few issues I have not used LOS in a long time but I was impressed
For some odd reason it's not working for me. At first it gave me Error 7 code telling me that my device isn't a T550. Then I manually removed the "assert" check lines from the ZIP file to force the install without a device check. It installed. But I can't boot into the OS. It just kicks me back to TWRP every time.
Never mind, after trying once more, it finally worked.

It wasn't that bad actually, it seemed to settle in for me. But I switched back to an Oreo rom for the time being for the bugs to get ironed out. Now I'm dealing with a super sluggish ROM lol. Do you have any recommendations for a good Oreo debloated ROM that performs great on the T550?

I still have expectations for this old tablet without any doubts there are a few of us out here with the 550 so we can band together and get something going I just got mine so Im stuck with the device for a while
Switched from a S8 to this tablet, that's real fortitude .. May I ask why you did this? The tablet is already antique. This is called a feature for slowing movement. Audio is working now, I will upload a new build tomorrow. I was able to install gapps without any problem and I don't feel like the device is "laggy as hell". Make sure to select Android 9 and ARM at opengapps.org, I choose always pico there and have no issues.

Sometimes that issue is caused by TWRP. It means that TWRP fails to get the device model, which is required for new install scripts. Consider updating TWRP.

I don't even get why you are trying to point the finger at me because of this. Trying to edit compiled builds is very dumb. Go ahead and compile it from scratch. I don't own a SM-T555 -> I can't test my builds properly. The result is a half-broken always-alpha build like the one on my afh account. That's the reason why there is no thread. Feel free to donate me that tablet, maybe I find some time to build it then for you.
I've updated the SM-T550 build now btw, audio is working now. I've tested the gapps-setup, too. It took me 30 seconds to get through. The device was fully wiped, maybe that's the reason for the speed..
Everything I need works fine
I just started thinking about using my old Samsung Tablet again as a remote.
When I saw that there is a LineageOS build available I just installed it.
Everything I need to use my tablet as a remote works perfectly fine and way better and faster than with the crappy touchwiz on our device.
Installation was done in 15 minutes or even less.
Thank you very much for your efforts!

Good morning layman,
the version is quite stable actually. The only things missing are SELinux and the encryption/decryption of the internal storage does not work. May I ask you for the build number of the original operating system made by Samsung? These builds are for the SM-T550/gt510wifi/Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 WiFi only. Have you enabled OEM unlocking in the developer options if there is this option?

There,s an internal problem with your device . Contact your manufacture for details.
When i start to setup if i skip wifi setup all goes fine but if i sign into wifi i get setup has stopped , other than that all else works great.
It's still an alpha version and it will stay alpha until LineageOS 16.0 is officially released. To minimize the bugs avoid dirty flashing and restoring apps with titanium backup. Use ARM Pie gapps from opengapps.org, I recommend using nano or pico.

[WIP] [ROM] [UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 17.1 [DISCONTINUED]

About:
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Introduction:
This is an unofficial WIP LineageOS thread for the Motorola G7 Power, codename ocean.
We support all the T-Mobile, International, and Project Fi variants, as their bootloaders are unlockable, while we can't support the Verizon and AT&T variants, as their bootloaders are permanently locked.

Make sure to only download the latest build.
Stock Firmware:
Official Firmware
Recovery:
Use whatever recovery you want, but I'm linking OrangeFox (courtesy of @electimon) here
Copy Partitions (To setup slot_b):

GApps:

Pixel GApps (optimized for ocean, Open GApps can have issues)
Preparation for A/B Roms:
Download a custom recovery and the stock firmware for your variant from the links above.
Remove your Google account under Settings > Accounts then factory reset your device, as FRP is enforced.
Unlock your bootloader on Motorola's official site.
Flash your factory firmware image on slot_a.
Hold power + Volume down untill you reach bootloader (fastboot mode).
In your extracted firmware folder, open a terminal or command prompt and flash your firmware files with these commands.
NOTE: This last step installs vendor.img to slot_b as well.
ROM - Installation:
LineageOS 17.1 requires some extra steps to install properly. These instructions are brought to you by @Bernie_nix.
Boot phone into bootloader
From a PC, use one of these command to boot custom recovery (TWRP/oFox). In Linux, use the following command:
Code:
sudo fastboot boot recovery.img
In Windows or macOS, use the following:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Replace 'recovery.img' with the filename for your recovery image.
If you are coming from stock, install the copy partitions zip after your phone boots into recovery.
In TWRP/oFox go to Wipe - Dalvik/Art Cache, Data, Internal Storage and System.
In TWRP go to the Reboot menu > Switch slots OR in oFox go to the Reboot menu > Switch Slots (press the grey one)
Wipe - Dalvik/Art Cache, Data, Internal Storage and System again.
Reboot into bootloader.
Boot TWRP/oFox with the fastboot command in step 2 above.
Install LineageOS.
Reboot.
It will bootloop 2x, then take you to factory data reset screen. Select Yes. It will reboot into LineageOS. At this point, if you don't want to install anything else, you're done.
Once Lineage boots, if you want to set up GApps, Magisk or another recovery, reboot into recovery mode, install TWRP/oFox, GApps, and/or Magisk.
Reboot into the bootloader and input this.
Code:
fastboot -w
Reboot. You're done.
Updating (AKA 'dirty flash') {do not follow these steps when going from unsigned to signed builds}:
Download the updated ROM.
Reboot to recovery
Install ROM.zip + the recovery, if you're using something other than Lineage Recovery.
Reboot into recovery
Flash gapps + Magisk (if you want)
Reboot into system.
Notes:
Any time your internal storage aka "userdata" is from a stock install you must use 'fastboot -w' to erase it before using any ROM, otherwise it won't boot.
Contributing:
If you have any patches you want to make to the device-specific code, do it at my GitHub, which will be linked at the bottom. I've conveniently pinned all the repositories.

Nice! I'm looking through the git repos now. What's all this with switching between LineageOS and RevengeOS? Never heard of RevengeOS before.
Edit: Is it possible to keep the stock software installed in slot A, and install this in slot B?

I based my device tree off of @Electimon's Revenge OS device tree.
And, it is possible to keep stock installed in slot A, but slot A would be useless without a data wipe in fastboot.
I'll give it a try sometime soon. Is there anything you need help with? I'm new to Android work, but I can take a stab at it.
edit: Installed, and it's working well for the most part! I'm going to record issues here as I come across them:
moto gestures missing Actually, they are included. There are two menus: one called "Gestures" and one called "Moto Gestures". They're both under the "System" category in settings.
notification LED constantly on battery was fully charged...

I can confirm that Android Setup is crashing. This occurs with both Pico/Nano Gapps. Also, I'm not sure if this is just the nature of Lineage, but after adding a google account, the only sync toggle option is listed as "People details." I am attempting to sync my contacts from my google account but this doesn't seem to be available. This would be under settings > accounts > google > contacts. There are also some frame rate issues, particularly when switching between applications or home screens. There does not seem to be any frame rate issues within the apps themselves, however.
I just want to add that everything I need seems to be working well. I've placed several calls and the quality was as expected. This will probably be my daily driver - nice work!
Bug report....
Installed nicely in Xfinity (Comcast) Phone.
Bug report - Local music files do not play from speaker or plugin headphones. Doesn't matter if stock player or other. (But works with Bluetooth device).
However speaker and plugin headphones work from browser and apps like Spotify.

Hello all! Considering upgrading to the G7 Power and replacing my aging LG V20 and throwing LOS on it. One single question: Does your LOS support WiFi Calling, and do other ROMs? This is the single factor forcing me off my beloved old tank, I moved to the middle of nowhere and I don't have any signal, and my only option is VoLTE and WiFI Calling, neither of which is supported in LOS on the V20.
Thanks so much for your work!

Most ROMs (including this one) support WiFi calling. I've tested it myself.

I'm on the May 11 build and my GPS locks faster than it ever has and it's very accurate on my device. I'd even go so far as to say its faster than stock. I haven't used maps ever on my 1955-5 except on rare occasions when testing a rom but when I saw your location is off post I flipped on location tile opened Google maps and probably 2 seconds after that the dot showed just outside my bedroom window at my house. Going to run a few tests now and see what the outcome is just for kicks but seems good on my end on the May 11th build.
Yes, location is working now on the May 11th build.
I'm not sure if this is the fault of the OS, but my SMS messages are being received late and in batches. It seems that I sometimes don't receive SMS messages until I unlock the phone and open the Messages app. Is anyone else experiencing that?

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] [SM-T290] LineageOS 18.0 [BETA][21.02.2022]

Build in the works. Going to release the BETA as soon as I can do testing on my own device before release.
IMO this is a necessity as there are literally no good roms for this right now. I tried the port of the Nexus stock CR rom and it was not great. Playstore was unusable due to an issue were the app thinks the system is out of storage space, even though it is almost empty. Chrome crashes instantly, the search on the page home screen flickers up/down without control.
I am a far bigger fan of LineageOS thus why I am working on this build.
More to come.

As a follow up to my original post I wanted to mention that for anyone who wants a new ROM on their SM-T290 until this is finished development, use the Nexus Rom by Magendanz. I was able to do a fresh stock firmware install and retry the rom and my opinion has changed. I have noticed that these Tab A 8.0 tablets have been used a lot for like Uber/Door Dash and other POS terminals. I am pretty sure a lot of them have modified or customized firmware for these reasons and when I mine second hand it was from a pizza store. I think that messed up the upgrade.
Overall Magendanz did a great job, when you install it properly. I have zero issues with functionality now, TWRP recovery set up, as well as Magisk installed and everything is running extremely well.
As far as instruction on how to install. Take a look at some of the comments further down on the Nexus thread. That is what I did this time around and it worked perfectly. Last thing I did was copy Magisk.Apk to my SD, change extension from .APK to .ZIP, then boot into TWRP and install that ZIP.
Going to update progression on a monthly basis as far as the LineageOS 18.0 build

Do you have a github with your source code and manifest? I just got this tablet (used) yesterday and I would like to see if I can help. I have built LineageOS roms for a number of older Samsung Tab A devices, but will have to do some research on the "new to me" T290. Thanks.
Just got this tablet, how's the beta coming along? And what can I do to help?
Thank you my guy I had lost all hope for custom roms on this tablet. It's quite relieving to know that I'm not alone.
Also, has anyone experienced severe lag on one ui 3 while doing basic tasks? The thing literally gets 5 fps while watching youtube and surfing the web but it plays 3d games at 20 fps on low settings. wtf

Hey Guys,
I didnt end up building a custom rom, because I was able to get the GSI version of Lineage 19 working fairly easily. Just use the correct image and flash the same as the Nexus post. Android 12 with Lineage 19 so i felt it wasnt worth it as everything works. I had trouble at first with a boot loop but that was because I had installed Magisk BEFORE the GSI rom and not AFTER. So dont make my mistake.
As per the Nexus Post;
Unlock Bootloader
flash TWRP
Wipe data
Install Andy Yan's Lineage OS 19 GSI
Andy Yan's personal builds // GSI - Browse /lineage-19.x at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
Install Magisk
Reboot
Cheers!

My OS didn't have an option to unzip it at first glance. I haven't been able to install gapps so I'm gonna try that gsi. Also, am I supposed to wipe internal storage before flashing or not?

Came across this while trying to root my sm-t290. Just want to add that Andy Yan has upgraded to a 19.1 version that appears to work just fine. Flashed to system partition using twrp after I had flashed the Nexus rom. Wifi works, sound works, sd card, bluetooth keyboard works just fine.

Ill mention that even though it says that it's supposed to be rooted, I couldn't get it to work right. The nexus rom had an option in the 'phh treble' menu to activate root and this lineage image should also but the option wasn't there. It kept saying the supersu binary was busy but that was after I flashed a supersu.zip(it may have worked before then i don't know). I played with it a little bit but ended up just flashing back to the Nexus rom.
Hey guys!
Installed "lineage-19.1-20220320-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS.img"
Everything starts up, but something is weird with my installation and my storage, it freezes when i go into storage and i cant download anything without apps start to crash.
Im not sure if i flashed it correctly, i did a wipe in TWRP before installation.
Really hope i can get this to work since it waaaaay faster then the bloat samsung ships
Edit:
Tried flashing another rom (nexus) and had the same issue!
trying to reflash and wipe everything except internal storage.
Where should i flash image? i get: "select partition to flash image", never seen that before (might be because you flash img and not zip)

Hey Guys,
I didnt end up building a custom rom, because I was able to get the GSI version of Lineage 19 working fairly easily.
As per the Nexus Post;
Unlock Bootloader
flash TWRP
Wipe data
Install Andy Yan's Lineage OS 19 GSI
Andy Yan's personal builds // GSI - Browse /lineage-19.x at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
Install Magisk
Reboot
Cheers!
