Samsung Galaxy S 2 X

Hello Folks,
I was curious as to what the difference is between the Galaxy S 2 and the Galaxy S 2 X is ? TELUS in Canada is selling the Galaxy S 2 X. Is it possible to root and put a custom rom on this device similar to what I would do with the Samsung Galaxy S2 ?
Thanks !
I'm not 100%. But I'm pretty sure The S2X is the same SGS2 as the one for T-Mobile, whch is the SGH-T989
Here is the XDA forum for that device

I also think that it is this.
Was known as the Samsung Hercules or SGH-T989.

[Q] will Galaxy S3 have 4g connection capabilities on THREE UK?

I am interested to know if samsung galaxy s3 will be compatible with 4g in the UK on the 3 network.

No it won't. The current S3 does not have the hardware required for 4G. A new version that does support 4G will be released soon.
If you have the gt-i9300 which you probably do......you are out of sheer luck like us all !!!!! Grrrrr......
Three UK wont have any 4G infrastructure for a while anyway.

Chances of Galaxy Tab S3 being rooted?

I see most versions of the S7 and S7 Edge aren't even rooted so is it unlikely to see root for Tab S3?

Has nothing to do with Sprint. None of the carriers in the USA have it yet.

I'm the manager of a repair shop, and a customer brought in a VZW galaxy j7 1st gen. Needless to say, I was a bit perturbed when I saw it was running 7.1.1 stock. This is my first Samsung device and I was sort of expecting this. However, the fact that we aren't at least getting the monthly security updates is a bit disappointing to say the least.

The update that was release on 9/28 was for roaming adjustments. The 7.0 update was released on 11/2 after I posted.

FINALLY!! Just got the update too... anyone notice anything different?
Sprint has an update out right now and I was just wondering if anybody has taken it and could let me know if most of the overlays still work and if the hotspot workaround is still able to work? I'm sure this is probably the November security patch. I have not even downloaded the update yet.

So did you guys notice our signal icon is no longer a solid white? It is now lined. I definitely liked the other way better. More AOSP looking. And now certain things do not get themed when using custom Samsung theme.

How do I revert back to the Verizon firmware?

Now that Verizon has released an update to the S9+, I want to move my Verizon branded S9+ that I flashed to T-Mobile last month, back to Verizon so I can sell it. I can't seem to find any Verizon user data files for it though.

That doesn't work. Maybe on the unlocked model, but not the carrier models.

It works on the carrier models as long as it's unlocked. I just did it this morning on my phone.

Hhhmm. Then maybe it either cause it's a vzw phone or the S9 is different from the S8

I think it's different from the S8. As an example, Sprint has a list of BYOD devices and it says any of the S8 models work, but only the US unlocked model of the S9 or Note 8 work.
