.att debloat xml package disabler with download NO ROOT - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Guides, News, & Discussion

I was able to make an att debloat file for package disabler pro. Every time I would look on the forums for a recent xml file i would only find files to disabke verizon, sprint and tmobile bloat so i decided to fix the problem myself. this works on the s7 and s7 edge on att, keep in mind some things won't be disabled if you are on marshmallow because some packages were removed with the nougat update and i don't want to downgrade right now so you may have to find those yourselves. one more thing if you have overheating and battery drain issues before doing this, disabling the packages fixed those issues on my phone hopefully it fixes yours of you had a problem with it. I will have to post the package names in a reply to the post because it won't post if I dont also don't forget to re enable things that you actually use. here are two ways of doing this
Purchase and install package disabler pro, once downloaded open app and look for import xml then look for the att debloat file you downloaded and then when it's finished it would be best to reboot and go back into the app to make sure it's running and you're done

I've seen people post screen shots of their package disabler screens with checkmarks on bloat ware but I haven't seen an uploaded xml file for the s7 on att running Android 7 but it really does work. Don't forget to disable any bloat ware I might of missed also feel free to re enable packages you still want

I just gave it a shot. I ran the script and wiped my cache. I'll see how it goes for the next couple of days.
Edit: one artifact I've noticed on nougat is the boot screen is it says I'm on a custom firmware.

I ran the script using PDP, rebooted into recovery, wiped the cache, then rebooted. It hasn't happened since that first boot, and Knox hasn't been tripped.

GenieGo RootChecker Removed

Today we finally see the release of DirecTV's free GenieGo app. hurray...
But wait... i cant use it on rooted devices??? Come on man...
I LOL at you for at least trying and gave me something to do for a few minutes.
if you already installed if from the Markert be sure to uninstall that one first other wise you will get a signature error
i was cleaning up some code and noticed that they also are checking more that just for su..
so that said, if your trying to install on CM or just want to remove that "device is rooted/ operation not avaible in releasebuild" or what ever that said toast on boot and a few other places here is an update. its better coding... (on my part)

Apparently there is an update to Geniego that allows devices to download content off-site. Has the Android app been changed? If so, will you be able to update your modification?

OOH(out of home) streaming currently is only on pc and iphone, once the android app has been updated you bet il "fix" it also.
Works like a charm
Installed it on my S4 and it worked GREAT. Thanks for doing this. My tablet is not one of the one's listed in on the DirecTV web site as a certified device so I can't even download it. I decided to give this a try and it works great.
Many thanks.

Thanks so much for the fix. Can't wait till they get the OOH streaming working, but cheers for at least making the app work on rooted android.
Yeah! Was about ready to ship the GenieGo back and let Directv know what I thought of the root check for their Android app. Works fine on my GS2 running the Jedi Mind Trick (JB2) ROM.
I requested a mod to be added to the modaco toolkit with the xposed framework
http://www.modaco.com/topic/361634-...r-xposed-framework/page__st__280#entry2144113
If Paul can add this to the toolkit, there is no need to modify the APK and we can keep the play store version installed.

It takes me two minutes to remove the root and custom rom check (as well as the other things that they check before allowing end user to use the app)
Sure he could do that, but he would have to update his code everytime the app is updated as well. (Package names change, app dev "attempting" to preform checks other ways therefore changing the code and so forth are many reasons I wouldnt think he would bother)
If you have a precaution about running an app that someone (in this case me) has modified (for any reason ) and you want to use the original application you know u can "hide root" with many third party apps, and its even possible with supersu. This way would allow you to use un altered app.
To recap, I have no problem with any additional solutions to reach the same end result. There are many ways to get the same result.
Cheers

4.3 broke a lot of apps...
That said, from a clean reboot ( simply for less cluter) run a logcat and launch app grab the failure and send it to me.
Edit:
After some quick googling thats not an app or os problem but something on "thier" side of things.
Google " error code AR/1001" and you'll find what I found .

Rom Video Installation Link
https://youtu.be/A3AbQHEjkRo
1. Watch Video (if downloaded old rom before V5)
1A. If downloaded V5 install as any other ROM use XAS or SPR CSC in aroma, reboot into recovery, clean kernel with cleaner, then install kernel of choice, reboot to system, wait 15 min. Profit.
2. Activate VM [email protected]
3. Give thanks or donate thanks for any donations
4. Enjoy
Note. Regular Message app wont work fully please use Textra or another alternate to the base one as it can send text and receive but cannot send Multimedia text. I recommend Textra Its beautiful and it automatically picks up Sprint APN Settings

Does SMS/MMS and data work with this? Are there any quirks like some of the other ROMs, like if the other person hangs up first you lose data? Or is this like a Sprint based port similar to Sac's, where all native things work including updating PRL/Profile etc? If so that would be AWESOME.
Thank you. I've been waiting for something new for my note 3. Will try when off work

Please read the original post. This is not like sacs. I dont have that kind of time to have that correctly fixed but its in there I just dont know how to activate those feature (PRL, Profile Update). SMS works but again not fully for Multimedia. Use alternate app for text like Textra if you want full capabilities. I did reach out to Sac23 for advice but he stated and i quote "Its not as simple as copy and paste" "Plus i no longer have a note 3 with Sprint to be able to test" Yet if any other developer has the time to help me fix it id gladly welcome it. It does not have FC on hangup

When I tried installing it, it sat for well over 20 minutes on the Samsung Splash Screen.
TWRP 2.8.7.0
I have made a video of the installation boot up time was 9 minutes after the install of rom. ill post the video tomorrow after i edit it it has my phone number and i need to block it
Im on 2.8.7.0 twrp, ph1 firmware, ill try again. Dont understand, maybe its just taking longer then most. So it is supposed to sit on the samsung splash screen?

It would be nice if someone can port the stock launcher with app drawer to a rootless v20.
They released a reworked stock launcher with app drawer on the v30, and we are still running something that belongs to the android Lollipop days.

Let's hop so.
The stock lg v20 apps need an update.
Samsung does a better job at this, they post all their apps on APKmirror, I remember having the s8 launcher, messages app, phone app... installed on my note 5 via apkmirror.
LG's software team is like 2 guys who spend most of their day trying to figure out how to make lg's skin like samsung. (and badly failing at it).
Also, if you read the review, everyone is praising the lgv30 as being the new underdog and whatever, the same as it was with the v20. Non of these reviewers actually use an LG phone, because none of them says anything about the POOR software support. It's terrible.
I know I might not post on topic but anyone know where can I find lg calander and lg clock?
Or someone can post it please
Thx
Would it be possible to install any of these apks in collaboration with the V20 stock apps?
For example; install V30 music player but keep the V20s stock player intact?

Maybe... If you can change the name of the APK. But even then it might have dependencies. Might butt heads

Hmm, I see.. Perhaps it would be possible to backup the stock V20 app in Titanium Backup and then replace with a V30 variant.

Don't know if that will work. Being you have doubles going on and conflicting. Doesn't hurt to try. What's the worst you can do.. won't open, force close..... Try adding a number to file and APK, anything that can create a double just change name by adding number, like, lgcam2 would be the V30. That way it doesn't conflict. Just a thought.

Just make a copy of the APK and any other files that are with it and save it somewhere else

Most like this would require one of the apk versions (v20 or v30) to have edits to the android-manifest of a decompiled apk. Reason being the package name of the apk's rarely change, even it the name of the app does.
So if you included both versions in the system, even if they were named differently, the system would get overloaded when it calls for a package and gets two answers.
Now l if the v30 apk's have new package names this could work without major edits. One way to check the package name is by using Tib and click on the app in question from the list. Then click on the section shown in the screenshots.
If the package names are different, easy stuff for someone to include both version, if the are the same, then you will need someone with more advanced knowledge of modding apks. I do not suggest the later for anyone unless you really know what you're doing.
Good idea though. I may look into adding some of thes options when i have more free time.
If anyone has installed a particualr v30 app and would like to see these options available in an Aroma pa kage or similar mod, post the details and we can put something together!
i've tried the most common way, downloading the system dump. extracting and push to the directory, LgHome, LGeasyhome, and lg backup launcher. set permission and reboot. now lg launcher FC, lol. i've already made a backup of those original apk/odex and restoring them. looks like we need experience porter since copy paste method didnt work.

I am happy to see people are reading and participating in development! That's what this place is about right?
Thank you for the words!
I would like to know if anyone can confirm any of the v30 apps work and if so which ones?
I only ask because I believe the v30 is running UX6 and wouldn't thing many of any apps would work for our older version UI.
I am sure the UX6 port rom would have better luck, but I am not sure since I haven't looked much into this.
Anyways, like I said, glad to see people making backups amd experimenting with different things!
Good job guys!
Btw, how did you create the backup? Just copied the files to a know location and tranger back via recovery or adb?
Or did you create a flashable zip?
If you don't have a flashable zip for easy recovery let me know and I cam send you a template zip and quick instructions on how to create the zip in seconds from your phone.
nahh.. i had no idea about making flashable backup even adb seems little hard for me. for testing launcher i've installer third party launcher and make a copy of everything inside /system folder. and put it back once i messed something

That is one way, however can get very time intense if you are changing out a batch of files with libs, xml etc.
For that I like the zip method. I have went ahead and written a quick tutorial for how to create the flashable zip and uploaded my zip template so you or anyone who needs it.
Check this post.
Good luck and feel free to reply in that thread for any questions
Has anyone tried v30's music player?
Does it has any improvement against v20's?
So do any of these apps work? Anybody tried them?

Hey RealWelder,
thanks so much for working on this device, I coudn't believe when I saw someone was posting about it so recently. I am still desperately searching for a SM-G360P ROM without carrier lock. Could you tell me which Stock-Rom (Boost/Sprint/Virgin etc.) this ROM is based on? Do you think it's possible to deactivate the carrier lock in a ROM at all?
Also: Have you found any custom roms for the 360P or tweaked some to work on the device?
I installed your modded ROM and really like the modifications you did. Great job! Now, if the phone would accept my SIM-Card instead of showing "Invalid SIM", I'd be totally satisfied
Thanks again & keep up the good work!

I'm not too sure about the carrier lock, I would think with a SIM it would work on any GSM network, but that's not always the case. This is the Boost Variant and the firmware is the latest, G360PVPS2APE2.
So far I've not found anything other than modified stock ROMs for the device, but we have everything we need besides someone who can actually build it from source. At one time Blazer64 had CM11 on his Core Prime, (his was s820l through Straight Talk) but I think the project was abandoned. I can modify, but building from source isn't even possible with my current dinosaur of a PC. Lol

I'm not 100% sure my SIM-card isn't detected because of a carrier-lock. I brought the phone from the US and now use it in Germany, so that may be why...
Having Lineage on my SM-G360P would be a dream, maybe some day a dev feels up to the task. I'd even invest some money, if somebody was willing. It's not even because I particularly love the phone (I actually have a working Huawei phone), but simply because I don't feel like throwing it away. Damn all these manufacturers for abandoning their models so shortly after release.
Do you perhaps know how one would get into ROM-building and Modding? Are there any decent resources you know of?

Yes, check out @tdunham Unified TouchWiz Guides and Mods thread. There you will find (near the bottom of the 1st page) a link to Custom Settings by @ficeto. You can download it and use it instead of ROM Control (which is for 5.0+) to use the mods. Also @venkat kamesh has a signing tool that I used to resign the Custom Settings app after I modified it.

Alrighty, I looked through the list (holy cow that's crap ton of customization, suck on that Apple!) And I couldn't find where I could make my phone's notification area look more modern, just like you have on your modified ROM. Do you know where can I find that? Thanks!

I did that on my own, you can decompile my SystemUI_ESS.apk with apktool and check it out. Most of the changes are in Notification_Header.xml, Status_Bar.xml, and Status_Bar_Expanded.xml as well as /values/Colors.xml and /values/Drawables.xml.
Make sure you search through all of the various values folders because there are different Colors.xml and Drawables.xml for each screen size. Same with /layout which is where the other 3 files are. (mdpi, hdpi, etc.)

Excellent work with this rom. I was finally able to get xposed working on this phone after flashing your rom. And the twrp for this rom works great. I like the bootanimation you made, I tried to change it and was unable to. Any suggestions? I tried putting bak at the end of every file and even added my zip to the folder with no avail. Help me please @RealWelder And one last thing, I get this annoying pop-up that my software has been updated every time the phone boots and I can't get rid of it. The xposed apps notify clean and receiver stop are useless for it. I tried disabling system software update apps with root uninstaller pro and still nothing.

The bootanimation should be pretty easy, just replace bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ with you own. (Or use an app like JRummy's Bootanimation app.) I'm not sure what's up with the update, unless Boost finally did one. I don't have a SIM or service on mine so I would be unable to get it currently. I'll see what I can figure out, though.

I did put my zip in system/media and even put bak at the end of every boot file. Before that I tried the Samsung boot animation app and it didn't work. Hence the reason why I tried other options. I'm going to try.again one last time. I'll let you know if I have any progress. And thanks for your response and also great rom.

Hey just don't worry about the boot animation. Once I got Xposed and all the Xposed apps up and running, I did a backup. Good thing too, messing with the boot animations made the phone to work real slow. I said to hell with it and just did a restore in twrp. As much as I would want this phone to boot like my Samsung tab 4 with the Stargate animation, it doesn't seem worth the effort. So don't trouble yourself messing with it @RealWelder. I appreciate what you did with this rom. Changing the architecture to an arm7 I believe. Well anyways, Xposed accepts it now. I can't thank you enough!

You're gonna need some tools. Apktool.jar or other program which uses apktool to decompile and recompile apks. It's also a good idea to keep newer and older versions of smali and baksmali.jar(s) because smali code has changed a bit and sometimes you have to baksmali with an older version and then smali with the newer version to convert code. Next you'll want to go check out TDunham's Ultimate TouchWiz guides and mods thread. There you will find all of the tutorials and mods.

You don't install that zip just extract it into a folder on your computer and then find a thread that explains how to use it. My instructions will help some, but it was written for a different device so the frameworks that you install be different.

Edit: if anything happens to my phone, I will NOT hold anyone responsible besides me. Don't worry lol

[REQUEST] A tutorial for removing all google products from the lg V30 stock rom.

Went to a friends house and ended up reading a story for him from a novel ONLY to see the same novel (audiobook) in his and mine youtube's recommended feed.
Got Scared. It's time for MicroG.
So, anyone please head us in the right direction to de-Googlify the stock OREO/PIE rom for the V30 H930
My H930 DS is stock oreo and rooted (with Magisk) by following the exact steps as given in another V30 thread.
A few questions that I am confused of:
1. Is the stock rom deodexed and if not how do I deodex it?
2. Does our stock rom have signature spoofing?
3. Is it possible to install MicroG services in the stock rom?
THANK YOU
You could try installing nanodroid and it should remove your google bloatware.
however I'm not sure stock rom will like this (be ready to recover from twrp), so you might need to go custom. Something like COSP that allows signature spoofing will work.
Hey,
I haven't done this yet myself but am considering on my H932. I've gone back to this guide several times trying to get up the nerve: "https://gitlab.com/Nanolx/NanoDroid/blob/master/README.md#installation-process".
I believe you have to be rooted and I think stock is OK. I'm on COSP and can recommend it if you want to go to a custom Pie ROM. It already supports microg. Only complaint I have (and it's very small) is that it hasn't been updated since 7/8.
Good luck!

Hey buddies, thanks for the tip. A few days has passed and I have been trying various methods to de-google the stock rom.
A heads up that the NanoDroid Install doesn't work (at all) in removing the prepacked google apps. I tried the full installer and it didn't help.
I have however found that there is a gapps-remove.txt in all 'open Gapps' Package downloaded from Opengapps.org. I don't understand how google apps are 'open' as in their name. This is in the text file:
