Addons & Stuff
Addons & OTA's
Last kernel update:
J500FN
J500F
Full changelog in comparision to the ROM bundled one:
- more charging changes
- merged patch mentioned by @ajislav
- updated display driver from MM kernel (implemented code left by ganesh)
- build cifs.ko and load it at boot
CAF Optimized System Webview
system_webview-m57-caf.zip
Changes in comparision to bundled one:
- Newer base version (M51 to M57)
- Built from Codeaurora sources (optimized for Snapdragon devices)
Wifi Direct & Screen mirroring fix
wifidirect-screenmirror-fix.zip

isn't this just gonna be the same as cm13

Mostly yes, but it's refreshed a little bit (newer android codebase as we have 6.0.1_r78 as far as I remember and CM13 has a little bit older base). It's also rebranded and we have some overlays fixed (charging overlays and 1080p recording in Snap camera). I also included newer Adreno blobs as you may see here . I will make seperate builds for the rest of J5 devices too later this week. I did some patches here and there since we won't get new CM13 builds anyway and custom MM for our devices still needs some love.
It also uses my kernel with recommended settings out of the box, so battery life should be better without installing any extra zips. People kept asking for it and most of them wouldn't build it for themselves so here it is

@Koloses what is the best way to get root in Lineage OS 13? Because in developer options there's only ADB...

Flash SuperSU zip just like on every ROM.

In CM I always used the in built root option :good:

Somebody missclicked the rate button (1star).
@Koloses
I'm using it on my phone at this moment and seems that signature spoofing (for microG) is working.
And as I've told you, Skype video recording problem is present on cm12.1 and stock 5.1.1 too.

@Koloses by the way now it says "fast charging" :good:

So even snapchat recording not working .Is there any temporary fix ? btw thanks for the rom

AFAIK Snapchat recording doesn't work on any custom ROM > 7 (i don't know how it is Nougat) I tried debbuging it several times yet haven't found any solution to it and decided to release ROM without fixing it.

Gpu script it's just for those who want limit the gpu overclock set by default to 720Mhz. If you encounter some overheating etc.

You limit the GPU frequency to 400Mhz (stock frequency) if you dont want overclock or for whatever reason you want.
The script is an init.d script which limit the GPU frequency at boot according the script you choose. You have to flash the zip in TWRP recovery.
I didnt try, but you can also use Kernel Adiutor and choose e.g. 400Mhz and toggle "apply on boot".

then why wrote in heading that it is for 32-bit...???
Nice bro but I have some questions:
1. Actually, what you mean with "32bit"?
Resuming, will this work on
ro.product.model=2014811
ro.product.brand=Xiaomi
ro.product.name=2014811
ro.product.device=HM2014811
ro.product.mod_device=wt88047_global?
Well, I ain't falling out of performance so... what can you say about battery and overheating in this kernel?
Well, awesome works bro bringing us this development
Keep earning your keep

He just mentioned to described that this kernel is for 32bit lollipop ROMs for our device
>There is no 64bit roms for our device until now.
>So he have made it clear for us that this is 32bit (We may be doubted whether this kernel is 32bit or 64bit, since it is for lollipop. So he made it clear before having questioned..)
>Simple.. :silly:
Thanks for this awesome kernel anyways, Tarun bro :good: :good: :good:

Not only your redmi 2 prime... Every redmi 2 & redmi 2 prime is a 64bit device only..
64bit capable devices can run 32bit ROMs & apps
but 32bit devices/ROMs are compatible with 32bit kernels & apps only..
So he have mentioned that this kernel is 32bit..
Thanks :good:
@Tarun93 , can you check my pull request? Since you are compiling using UBER, I have some flags that I added that may increase performance.

gk-test is the branch i used for Gk-R2 its based of kumajaya's kernel
also i needed you to tell me a list of bugs in zwliew's and kumajaya's kernel n if there is anyother i need to make things more universal for all the roms i cant make 10 kernel zips each for diff kernel base :crying:

zwliew source bugs:
- barely working proximity sensor
- black screen & freeze due to some mmc (fixed in kumajaya's source)
- CPU stuck at some value for first five minutes
- painful screeching sound first five seconds of .wav recording
kumajaya source bugs:
- painful screeching sound first five seconds of .wav recording
- worse camera quality and I suspect something to do with autofocus
Mostly, I think both kernels are build on the same base but with different commits and device names.
cm-12.1-amss-2.1
However, kumajaya's rom is compatible with zwliew's kernel base but zwliew's rom is not compatible with kumajaya's kernel base
Redmi 2 hm2014813
Hello, I am using Cm12 on my redmi 2 and would like to flash your kernel, specially in order to get rid of that awful voice recording sound.
Though I am not able to flash it.. Recovery says that my device is not compatible.. It should be REDMI 2 HM2014811 but mine is HM2014813.
Any idea what I should do please.
Thank you!
Be careful

First, you need t know if it's compatible with ....... 13
If it is, should flash uh?
But it not flashed so here goes the geek part I guess...
WARNING this may cause bootloop or soft brick
Be sure you know how to get a way from this
Make a copy of the kernel's zip and open that copy with winrar without extracting
Go to META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and open this with a text editor like notepad++ (if you dont have np++) I should sugest you dont try any other one
Find the assert comand right on begining I guess.... find the getprop ro.product.xxxxx blabla and change to yours
Close and save. Winrar will update and get courage to flash

The kernel is working. I lost root so I flashed it again via TWRP.
There's a bug: when the screen is off, and you want to turn it on, the device reboots. Could you fix that? And please add the option to set lower frequencies to the processors both big and LITTLE (The lower frequency currently is 800mHz on big and 500 on LITTLE)
Thanks for your work
Oh if there is a reboot bug then ill wait till it gets fixed after that ill flash it for reporting

- the same bugs which you can find in the original NexusOS kernel
Downloads:
See AFH.
Installation:
0. Backup is mandatory!!!
1. Download the latest kernel version zip file
2. Go to recovery
3. Flash the zip (if you have G920I flash from "G920F_I" folder or if you have G920T flash the G920W8 version)
4. If you were rooted then you need to flash root again otherwise you'll get a bootloop
5. Enjoy
Optionally, install Kernel Adiutor from Play Store to get control over the kernel. Install Synapse from Play Store or Synapse MOD (read FAQ).
I'm not sure if it works on other models. Please tell me if it does.
This kernel requires an LOS-based ROM like NexusOS.
If you want to contribute just PM me
If you press the Thanks button then Chuck Norris will visit you
If you want to revert all the changes to boot.img, I attached the remover zip (it installs stock NexusOS kernel). Just flash it just restore the backup of your previous boot partition.

FAQ

Highly recommended to read FAQ from here.
1. Bootloop.
Did you flashed SuperSU or Magisk again? Maybe you were rooted before and you need to reflash root. Pay attention to OP instructions and to the text printed in recovery.
2. Thank you for this kernel.
But can you please help me to get surround sound on my S6?
Sure. Here is it.
3. How to build your kernel from source?
After you git cloned it, open terminal in root of the cloned folder and enter this: "sudo bash build_kernel.sh G920F" (or your model). Choose stock dt.img during building process.
4. Synapse is saying:
- "No UCI support" → Close the app from recents and open it again. If still no UCI support then PM me with the output of this command: uci (run it with su permissions).
- "JSON configuration parsing failure" → Using a file manager go to /res/synapse and delete a file named "config.json", close Synapse then open again, UCI error, reopen and done.
- The apply and discard buttons appeared for no reason. Which one should I click? → Click "X". This is a bug in Synapse.
- Is there a mod for Synapse? → Yes, Morogoku worked on it and I modified it a little bit to match our kernel and I built it. Get it from here. All the credits are going to Morogoku. It features backup/restore profile option and a red material theme.
5. Where to install BusyBox?
In /su/xbin or /system/xbin. I'm using SuperSU and Synapse is working perfectly. After each boot up I highly recommend you to check the Synapse settings, especially CPU OC to see if everything is ok.
6. There are unexpected freezes. What should I do?
Open Synapse, go to GPU tab and set GPU highspeed clock to 420 MHz.
7. How to fix the excessive heating?
Try switching from Interactive governor to Nexus and vice versa. See which one is good for you. I think Nexus will be the one.

Edit: Downloadsection now visible.
"The first kernel is the NexusOS's one but this one doesn't need a custom ROM to be installed"
What does that mean: doesnt need a custom rom to be installed.. Voodoo magic?
By the way with AnyKernel you could support stock and LOS under 1 hood. Los runs on stock source

Heck yeah a custom kernel for AOSP ROMs!
Added v1.1 with zRAM and KSM support and with up-to-date sources. Also the first Edge build is here. Enjoy it
Also I've added the source link in OP.
Edit: Added a FAQ.
@minealex2244 Everyone using AOSP for s6 really appreciate your work mate, thanks and I hope you continue the great work
Does it work with AOKP?
Hope this one can be compatible with g9208 as well!!There isn't any rom compatible with g9208...stock touchwiz forever doesn't sound good:crying::crying:

I don't know. If you want you can try it.
hey can you add support for people using s7e battery with S6 ?
i am on nexus os rom.
Thanks for the kernel...will try it and report in a few days:good:
can you add :
spectrum app support https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-spectrum-kernel-manager-users-t3601542
gpu overclock
Add stock power management, nexus team add custom power management that cause very poor battery life.
also can you fix gpu in nexus rom, because dont scale up right like in stock rom.
gpu is always active at low freq and also only use low and max frequence.

Spectrum seems a good thing but I'll add support for Synapse. If it won't break anything then I'll add Spectrum support. Regarding battery life I'll inspect it as I had just put my hands on this kernel.
Regarding GPU it depends on the governor the kernel is using by default. Synapse support should give you the ability to select another governor.
Next week I will have a little holiday and when I get back I'll try to add Synapse support for both my kernels.

Is the thermal configuration changed since LOS 15.1? Back then the CPU was heating up and throttling too easily during gaming. Battery life was alright.

Back in LOS 15.1 you can use the preinstalled Files app to copy files to SDcard without problem.
@Chippa_a GPS and USB OTG seems to be working.

Almost stock 8.0 when not even equal
Pretty stable, but... there is same battery drain as on LOS 15.1, and i guess it's caused bc of broken deep sleep.
Multimedia audio is too small, youtube audio example
So I tried flashing this LOS build, and indeed, the throttling issue still remains. What I discovered are:
- The CPU will throttle after around 2 minute of heavy load, or around 42-43C.
- big core frequency will be limited to 400MHz, while LITTLE core frequency doesn't seem to be affected. The highest big core frequency reachable is 1248MHz, which is too low compared to the 1804MHz set by the kernel.
- These behaviors override default frequency settings and custom configs set by Kernel Adiutor. (The default value is 883MHz Min - 1804MHz Max).
Other than that, since both ROMs are using the same kernel tree, many other aspects of this ROM are highly identical to LOS 15.1. Some other things I noticed:
- The camera app (and image quality) is similar. Which means, better low-light processing than AOSP or Treble.
- GPS and USB OTG works.
- Deep sleep is still broken, like other users have reported. Average screen on time however is still higher than Treble.
- Max audio volume on both ROMs are lower than Stock or Treble. Fix below.
- We get a fairly new build of LOS 16. Some new features (like Expanded volume panel) are present. Security patch date is July 5.
@Chippa_a Regarding the throttling, is there any way for me to bump up the threshold to around 50C, or prevent the CPU from going below 800MHz? I'm fine with the phone getting hotter.
Deleted
- For some reason, disabling USB tethering always causes my phone to restart.
- Speaker volume is also very low, the mod by lookmanns14 did improve it a bit.
- Wifi reconnection after turning off Airplane Mode is pretty slow (can take 15s up to 30s).
Other than that, everything is working well and performance is much better than current Pie ROMs.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github Repo

Fsync On/Off Toggle
Dynamic Sync Control
SLIMBUS OC to improve the Audio Mods
BBR2 TCP Congestion algorithm by Default
Added IO-SCHED drivers like: ZEN, FIOPS, MAPLE etc...
KLAPSE Driver (check out https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...odule-t3907025)
KCAL Color Control Driver (Up to date)
Boeffla Wakelock Blocker Driver
Adreno Boost
Enabled a few drivers inside of Kernel: CDC, NTFS, CIFS and some native gaming devices as well
Added and Enabled HID: NINTENDO SWITCH controllers support
Enabled ZSTD Compression, it is recommended to enable this for ZRAM moving forward
Disabled LZO, updated LZ4 compression algorithms
Several Upstreams to NET/TCP in order to improve Network Connectivity and Speed.
Added a fix to hide Magisk Mount for Isolated Processes. This is a critical leak in MagiskHide that can be exploited by apps trying to determine if the device is rooted. I had an issue with two payment apps that after applying this fix, they work. Not sure if they were finding magisk with this method lol. Yes we just need a tester. Neither @ChongoDroid or I own a S20+ so the support in kernel is there but need testers
It should work though on s20+, I wonder if FHD density is the same as ultra. Also finger print placement might need testing.

We've only been building for our devices but the trees from lineage have support for S20+.
We'll think about it, maybe I'll build an alpha build for S20+ and see if how it is.

No. That's not gonna work, it won't boot. What he says is we can build with the same parameters since we are forcing [email protected] the resolution and assets need to be adjusted.
Jesse's trees are configured to build at [email protected] so we need yo move stuff around to make it work at FHD+
The way gesture navigation is supposed to be.
