Huawei P10 Case with good drop protection - Huawei P10 Accessories

Hi!
Getting my Huawei P10 next week, and really excited! But also really scared. Because I have a tendency to drop my phone. Both my previous two phones I've dropped and cracked the screen. My fault, as I really liked the naked experience without any cases.
So this time, with an expensive P10, I'm going to get a case. One that covers the corners and a bit of the screen lip, so that if I drop it the screen doesn't hit the floor directly.
My wife has an iPhone and she has the Incipio NGP case, which is the type I would like for the Huawei P10 (except that Incipio haven't come out with it yet!)
Anyone else have any recommendations for a back case that has a bit of lip to the screen for protection?

the one included with the phone seems to do decent job protecting corners and to me it's looks are not totally disgusting

I just got my P10 yesterday, there was no included case. What case do you have?

There was huawei branded transparent case included in my box. Looks like there is a difference between review and retail boxes.

/I've always appreciated spigen cases. Join me in giving them a +1 to add it to their product line

This is very annoying.
I can confirm the sim-free version sold in Germany (model number VTR-L09) does NOT come with a complimentary case.
From the box it looks like it may be the same one model sold across EU, so if you are expecting a case, I would double check to see if the model number on the box is VTR-L09.
Also I posted in another thread, but worth mentioning here, that this model in Germany is single SIM card only.

I like Spigen cases too, especially rugged armor. Why there is not already cases from Spigen for P10?

I received two cases with my unlocked phone (Thailand). The standard transparent, plastic one and the fabric cover case.
My phone fell out of my opened bag from about waist height onto the ground (tarmac). The corner of the case (transparent plastic) absorbed the full impact. I removed the case - not a single mark on the phone itself.
I've ordered a black Nillkin case.

Well, a few miles from your country, across the border in Czech Rep., the only model available is Dual SIM version VTR-L29.
Without cover and all colors but green.

Just got my gel case from ebay store Dealshut: http://stores.ebay.com/DEALSHUT?_dmd=1&_nkw=p10 - Case fits perfectly. Images attached showing the case.
- product link is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Transpa...10-Case-Gel-TPU-Soft-Cover-Skin-/172556661811

Hey everyone - Speck is now producing cases for the P10, P10 Plus, and P10 Lite. All of these cases have an 8ft drop rating and a lifetime warranty.. check them out! http://www.speckproducts.com/huawei.html

+1 for gel cases. I've used them for years and only a few £/$ etc. Always dropping my phone and never broke anything yet. Pretty much identical to the one above but I tend to go for the "S-Line" design...plenty of sellers on ebay and elsewhere.

Are the Speck cases much better than the generic cheap gel cases? They look similar from pics.
Any other good protective cases out there?

Any case is good as long as it protects the phone well, I hate the supplied case, you have to force it on, and i never liked those hard cases, I picked one up one similar to what Jerseymase54 has posted for USD 0.65 for now until I get a better looking one.

Best pouch/slip case for the HD ??

Hello,
I've been searching for a pouch case for the HD, like the ones from Diamond and Touch Pro.
Unfortunately there's nothing like that case. Those cases are so good on keeping the pdas tight inside...
With the help of this forum, I got a few pouch cases similar to the ones for the Diamond and TP.

Can anyone can give me an advice and tell me witch one is better?
Aside from the design, is there any difference between A1, A2 and A5 Easecase??
It's seems that the cases from all three brands don't secure enough the HD inside. Am I wrong? Is there a winner ?
As anyone have the carrymobile case? If yes, it's possible to plug the headphones when the HD is inside??
Can try Krusell.
I bought from Boxwave. It is custom made for HD and fits very well. I am very happy with the service too.
Palur
I got the PdAir one. It is great quality and I think is the best of the three.
I like the elastic sides and it has the best look. It is padded so the protection is OK.

Post your findings, I'm still undecided.
Any ideas which one(s) might have a belt clip?
I am looking for a case that is like a silicone shell or hard rubber (so the phone is well protected (dropping/scratching concerns) -- but also has a way you can clip it to yourself..
I have the PDAir one... but looking for something better.
Hi,
does anybody know the delivery time of PDAair pouch?
i ordered one today and want to know when it will get delivered..im from the uk?
thanks
***THIS CASE DOES NOT FIT TO TOUCH HD*** Just leaving some part of my original post with a picture to prevent anyone else going for the same case.

I bought a pouch from ebay for £3.99. Delivered from Hong Kong to the UK in 4 days, which was pretty good. It is a nice leather pouch and am very happy with it. Got another screen protector with it too.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Leather-Case-...ZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trsidZp1742.m153.l1262
I got one like THIS on ebay. It's like the one that came with my Elf.
Definitely better than the felt one that came with the phone.
I like it because it has better drop tollerance than the felt one because it has that rib around the edge. It's also a thicker and a tougher material than the felt one.
PDAir
I ordered teh PDAir and got it within 5 days. (Hong Kong - Holland)
It is a great pouch and I like it's quality and the hard shell front. No fear of damaging the screen. Super!
Piel Frama
I have the black Piel Frama. It is hand made and very classy...and very expensive...but it's sooooooo beautiful! It protects the HD very well. The only place which could get damaged when dropping it is where the stylus is.
You also get a clip to carry it on your belt if you like (I don't use that).
Cheers!
You can use the Covertec Cases...
I am currently using the Universal PDA (Large) one, and it fits perfectly, infact there is a little additional room, which will come in handy, when I get the silocone cover for the phone... fingers crossed...

I'm looking for a cheap thin case that covers the corners and is also slightly raised above the screen, in case I drop it face first the screen will not touch the ground.

I have this one I think. Again with no brand name. But I can say that it is a perfectly adequate case for using it on your desk/table however it has a loose fit which when you try to put it in your pocket it wants to come off. Given the price I can't really complain.

Thanks that helps. I don't want one that is going to try and come off. I found some other cheap ones on Amazon.
I bought a couple from Amazon from the company BoxWave, they're pretty high quality and fit well, have raised edges and come in a few different colors.
http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Samsu...3M2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329855698&sr=8-1
Couple of questions on the Boxwave unit...
Any chance it will work with a cradle type charging unit? If so, which cradle is recommended?
I am looking at the Hyperion unit and it looks like it might actually work.
I cannot post links yet, but Amazon and "Hyperion galaxy note" should get the job done.
Next question is rather odd...I want to be able to set my phone in a cradle in landscape so the connector will not work (obviously). So is there a cradle that will allow the Boxwave unit to remain in place, AND hold the Note in landscape? I do not care about charging in this configuration, as I will just run a cable to my USB port on my PC or charger.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Fit very well and took about a week.
Rob
I definitely suggest TPU cases. You can get them every bit as cheap, provide similar protection, and will slide in and out of your pocket when you want it to, and will stay there when you don't. Also, due to the snug fit, I have found they allow much less dirt to get inside the case compared to silicone cases, stuf keeping your device scratch free.
I remember that I had a silicone case for my first iPod, a 30gb video, and I was highly disappointed when dust and dirt had scratched the back of my device. Silicone cases don't do much except make your phone grippy. they may defend well against drops, but TPU is just as good and doesn't allow your device to get nearly as dirty/scratched.
Ignore this post.

Just Ordered the Blackout case from Boxwave, looks like it will suffice for now.
Is it thinner than a speck case? I got the Spigen Spg that I like very much but it doesn't protect the front I want a lightweight case.

I need your opinion with different carrying solutions. Hows the china stuff on eBay?

I need to find a way to carry my phone around, especially at work. I work in a bus garage, my work is manual so I don't want the phone to be in any pocket as moving around can get annoying and I might hit my leg somewhere and damage the phone. But also in regular clothes, sometimes this phone is just to much for my jeans.
For me, finding the perfect way to carry this huge phone is the most challenging thing with it, but the size of this phone is my only negative point so I'll find a way around that.
From eBay:
1. Case cover with Holster with belt clip and kickstand:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-3-Case-Cover-Protector-Rigid-Slim-Holster-Kick-Stand-/171138781224?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item27d8aa9028
2. Heavy Duty vertical belt clip pouch : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-VERTICAL-BELT-CLIP-POUCH-HOLSTER-CASE-FOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-2-N7100-/360649119899
3. Another Holster Belt clip : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3-Rugged-Hybrid-case-cover-with-Belt-Clip-Holster-Bundle-/181230218883?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item2a3229ae83
So what are your opinons on these 3? Hows the china stuff with your experience? Should I be worried the belt clip break in half after 2days?
I've tried about 4 different china cases over the years....and 3/4 were garbage...the only decent one I had on my G2. The fit is usually too small/incorrect and i've cosmetically damaged phones in the past using them. Like the old saying goes "Ya get what you pay for." I'm by no means rich and like to save a buck when I can, but do you want to put your $600 baby in a $5-10 carriage?
1st one: I don't like that I don't see and rubber material in the case for shock absorption, just that little fuzzy "velvet" stuff. Bet it will scuff sides of phone too, had one similar before.... PASS
2nd one looks like the case for my leatherman. PASS
3rd one looks like a trident knockoff, but has the rubber/hard plastic combo that seems to work best. One thing I can't see is how big of a "lip' sticks out above screen. This is important for face-down falls. Without a good rubber lip like the Trident/otterbox cases, you WILL have damage.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out....
I've had mixed results with China cases over the years. I was suprised by the one I got for my Note 2. It was cheap, durable, and did exactly what I wanted. With my original Note I went through 2 or 3 cases before I got a good one.

The majority of cases probably originate in China. I ordered #3 from your list and it should be here soon, so I can take pictures and let you know about the quality. From another auction, it shows that the lip that surrounds the screen is rather large, almost as much as an Otterbox Defender. I saw the same case on Amazon for $20, and there are a few sellers that have them less than $10 on eBay. I've also ordered a Spigen NeoHybrid because it offers the protection I need, but hopefully the corners won't pop off and crack the case near the charging port like my S4 case did.

Best window case

Hi all,
Just looking for the best quality window case for this phone.
Any suggestions?
TIA.
For me Nillkin is the best.

Thx for the reply. Does it fit well around the phone corners etc?

Should be interesting how it goes. Will update when it arrives.
Yes. it fits 100% perfectly. The only problem (for me) are the available colors. Only BLACK, RED, LIGHT BLUE (but not WHITE as I would).

The problem is that most of the se Windows cases don't have any clip to sicure key closed the Windows. Therefore if the phone fall down on the ground, the case May open and the screen May break.
This doesn't Apply to Nillkin cases.

I've purchased the Rock case too. But the funny thing about these cases is that the magnets aimed to activate Smart View in the phone are not correctly aligned with the phone's magnets. As a consequence, Smart View does not get activated when the case is closed.
I've bought two of these cases (gold and black version), and tried it with 3 different Mate 7. Conclusion : either the case's magnets, or the international version of Mate 7 is faulty.
The final workaround was to move the case's magnets (pry tool, glue and patience are necessary )
No issues here with rock case and magnets and smart view; works every time open/close and using it now for nearly a week.
Perhaps your rock case is faulty?
Well, that sounds weird... I've bought two Rock cases, and tried them on 3 different Mate 7. Same problem, same workaround. I hardly can believe that the phones were faulty...
If yours works, I assume that mines are exceptionnaly misfunctioning. However, that's weird...

My HAM7 (Gold model) came with Huawei's flip cover in the box, which was a pleasant surprise.
Honestly I find very little functionality in the flip cover. The complete lack of customization options for the Smart View mode is truly shocking, I can't even change the background from that damn bridge picture! No notifications, no information displayed besides the date and time. Nothing. When music is playing you get a clunky music controller, and that's it.
If I had a better, non-flip cover, or a website which can ship to where I live (there is none) I would replace it in a heartbeat.

LOL..........
As a rule,I don't care for cases,usually opting for a clear,or,matte skin.
Most mfgs offerings these days,a case is virtually mandatory,I'd be glad to have a decent plastic phone that could hold up to a drop or two w/o worry...................
I just wish phone mfgs made at least one top-end model that is ruggedized al la Samsung Galaxy Active series.
Nothing on the clownish side, regarding the overall size, but, just to where it's not going to dent/ding/crack @ the slightest drop.
This phone should hold up well, but, one reviewer (Android Central),mentioned the body is easily scratched.
Sooooo,I'll be getting a D-Brand skin as soon as they're available.
I usually go for Skinomi, but, the D-Brand has a cutout option for the logo to be visible.

ive already had a very minor drop of about 3 feet and chipped one of the edges (have to say this phone chassis is cetainly not as robust as my previous OnePlus 5 that also has had a few falls with barely a scratch or a dent). so annoyed that razer havent included a basic case in ther fancy packaging. theres no third party case market to speak of and the official cases are super expensiveand cost a tenner to ship etc. Whats also shocking is that THREE in the uk, their exclusive launch partner, have no cases for sale on launch day??!??! Is that even normal?! One Plus always have their cases avail at lauch with their UK partner O2. This is beyond a joke ....
Weren't the OnePlus phones coming with their own rootkit too? Another way Razer cheaped out..
I have noticed that the official Razer accessories are now up on their site so have ordered myself their Tempered Glass screen protector along with the rugged case.
The case is the same I'd pay for previous phones and so as long as it's build is as good as the apple ones I don't see a problem.
The tempered glass is a bit pricy at £25

Orzly tempered glass is like £9 man I wouldn't pay £25 for tempered glass tbh although it "Shipped" on the 15th and I haven't gotten it yet so I think Orzly are lying to me about shipping. I hate the fact this very slim case cost me £30 all in....should have gotten the rugged case.
Just an FYI, if u get the rugged case, which isn't very rugged. Be sure to take it off very slowly, the design is kinda flawed so when you take it off, it wants to bend in half, probably creasing/breaking the back of the case at the separation of side-walls that clamp around the phone.
Decent case to at least have something though.
