generic
There is no question the MDZ-18-AA can run a few cycles faster but that has nothing to do with Netflix.
No generic android box enjoys recognition and support by Netflix to produce streams higher than 480 resolution.
The MDZ-16-AB is in a unique category of Official AndroidTV devices which have the proper DRM licenses, and are authorized by Netflix to stream at 1080/4UHD resolution. All assuming you have suitable bandwidth, proper Netflix subscription level, and an output device that fully conforms to standards stipulated by Netflix.
Don't be overcome by specsmanship. For your stated requirement for Netflix in the android world, only the mdz-16-ab or another Officially blessed AndroidTV device like Nvixia Shield or Airtv box will suffice.

How to get International ROM on MDZ-18-AA (White Color)?

I have got Mibox Enhanced MDZ-18-AA
Its a beautiful device with almost no issues. but one big problem, its got Chinese OS. I want international ROM to be installed. Is there anything we can do for that?
Is there an official Int'l ROM for this device? Unofficial ROMS might be having a few bugs.

Start studying Chinese!!
Have you ever seen an official Xiaomi release of international rom for their boxes that are designed for Chinese home market? Of course not. Every box they have produced is for domestic consumption except for one......
There is a single model MDZ-16-AB that is produced for worldwide use outside PRC.

Both models are garbage, Xiaomi makes cheap Chinese junk that gets no product support. Buy an Nvidia Shield TV.
They trolled all their customers with the Mi Box pretending to release Nougat, now pretending to release Oreo. Meanwhile everyone is still stuck with a 2.5 year old OS.

As for the camera, it is 13mp rear one with ois capability and you can download some camera modes from Galaxy apps store such as rear cam selfie, etc.....
As for the front one it is 5 mp camera which is actually amazing (But to be honest I prefer the rear cam selfie mode)
As for the battery it is non removable with a capacity of 3300 mah which stays along the day (Note: This differs according to your use to the device as I am not a hardcore gamer and I do not play RR3)
As for heating, It barely heats on using mobile data but on gaming It heats up but it doesn't exceed about 39 or 40°C (Again as I said above it differs from one user to another) and as for ordinary use (when not playing games) it barely warms up (A back cover will make the warmth of the device barely sensed)

Well it depends on the region you live in:
If you live in India and your device was bought from India (For knowledge the Indian model is SM-A710FD) the upgrade will be available soon as I think (It may be available but I do not know so for reference you could go to the Galaxy A series page on xda fourms)
For more knowledge: I have a galaxy a7 6 which I upgraded to marshmallow and it carries the same Indian model number although it is not bought from India, that is because my device is middle eastern as in the middle east the firmware of SM-A710FD is the same as SM-A710F which had the marshmallow update released a week ago so I found one of the middle eastern firmwares of SM-A710F and downloaded it onto my SM-A710FD and it worked normally but this method won't work on your device if you are in India since the network bands in India is different than ours (middle eastern).
Conclusion: Do not try to install the marshmallow SM-A710F on SM-A710FD if you are in India due to different network bands.
Note: That's my conclusion of all what I had read about your issue since I also have SM-A710FD so I was worried if I had bricked my device until I knew that in middle east is different than in India.
Sorry for my many words

Actually I use both 2 sims with MicroSD card. That`s why I`m asking.
A710FD is the only variant, which has 2 sim slots and a dedicated MicroSD card. And all the other variants has 2 slots - 1 is a sim slot and the other one is a Hybrid slot.

Nope.
A710FD has not got the Official MM yet. Though I don`t have any idea about OTA update, as mine is rooted with custom recovery. But I`ve searched and googled about this and don`t get any fruitful result yet.
But hopefully this one will get official MM shortly.
But really this is an excellent device. Excellent display, Battery Life, No Lag, Dual Sim with a dedicated Memory card slot ( one of the best dual sim phone right now).
So, this my short review of A710FD as a user.
Hope this will help you.

This is it, Marshmallow is final rom for us

As you know Google recently released Android 7.0 update to Nexus devices and Sony released list of what devices will receive update http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2016/08/23/sony-xperia-and-android-7-0-nougat/ Only Z and X line will be getting it. Sony abondoned it's M4 and M5 devices that recently turned 1 year old. Our only hope now is Custom Rom devs. What do you think about this move from Sony ?
I think,it's only "first wave" of updates,in future we can see Nougat. But I don't sure, that this is right)))

It's unlikely that it will be in waves. It's sony after all slow ass oem who has close to stock android yet takes more time to update than Samsung, Lg
To be fair, I'm more surprised we got Marshmallow in the first place. Nougat was very, very unlikely.
However, Marshmallow created so many issues on my phone, this is the first time ever where I've had to downgrade to Lollipop.
If Sony did bring Nougat, they'd mess it up somehow. But I regret getting this phone and will probably cross Sony off the list of OEMs to purchase from.
M4 and M5 are midrange devices we can't expect more than Marshmallow..
There is no xperia e5 on the list, which is a 2016 phone, so it is probably just a list that will be updated soon.
---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ----------
Unless Sony is trying to be the Apple of android and cutting out their midrange phones
i'm pretty sure this is our last rom, and i don't think there will be a new custom rom either since the dev are became quite now (it just my opiniop tho..)
hope we get a method to root our Xperia M4 Aqua on MM 6.0 without unlocking boot loader ...... :fingers-crossed:
IF and it's a big IF - we get 7.0 N it will probably be after they release 8.0 X on other xperia devices just like it happened to 6.0 MM

I don't think we will get nougat either, as there are there are reports for Qualcomm not supporting snapdragon 810, so no Vulkan API drivers for the z3. Snapdragon 615 (our phone) was in the 810 lineup, so it probably won't get the drivers either. So PROBABLY no nougat.
it is snapdragon 801 and not 810

Qualcomm and Google won't support Snapdragon 801 and not Snapdragon 810 ( Xperia Z5) ... btw Snapdragon 615 is on a host of phones which probably are going to get Nougat update its only that disgusting Sony wont offer any more updates Samsung and LG, Huawei will still support their Snapdragon 615 ( very good chance)
and visit this http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...t-24-months-os-updates-current-future-phones/
Huawei has promised 24 months of updates for all its devices going forward 2016 onwards Honor 5X with snapdragon 615 will be getting nougat because unlike Sony Huawei cares about their users
(if) We will get nougat only when android o beta come out, I've been using sony mid range a long time and this pattern was also applied to our phone, at that time our 18 month of update already dead I think
It's not a flagship phone, this isn't Google and it came with 5.0. It was foreseeable that it would die with 6.0.1 (officially anyway, but seeing that there's hardly any development, it's really unlikely we will get a nougat rom)
M4 aqua is a mid-range device and as such only gets update support for 18mths it was never gonna get N in the first place z3 and m5 also don't use dm-verity security which all new Xperia devices have. People are slating Sony for dropping the z3 that's had two years of update support and two big os updates when it's actually qualcomm dropping support not Sony

Ok. Nevertheless if you are stuck in a bootloop you can flash back to the official MIUI firmware via EDL (Emergency Download Mode) or via fastboot.

I know I have solved my issue with fast-boot mode only last version works which is same for both devices.

Ok so if you have already solved your issue then why did you create this thread? I too have the same phone and I knew before buying it that there's wasn't going to be developer support as it has a Mediatek processor. You are better off buying the Xiaomi A1 or Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon should you want custom firmware support.

I created this thread only for getting support of TWRP and custom ROMs. I wrote this matter very clearly. It is possible because Xiaomi created last same ROM for both devices with some minor modifications.
The main difference between both devices is that in 4x you cant flash ROM with locked bootloader.

Yes I know. I was one of the first people to buy the Redmi Note 4 when it came out last August. But by comparing my specs with your spec sheet , the only difference is that yours say Redmi Note 4x.

AXON 7 A2017 not Daydream VR compatible anymore

I've found after updating to MiFavor 5.0 B08 that Daydream VR was getting a incompatible phone message and not opening. I thought it was a bug because many apps which relies on Play Services were not working. So I went back to MiFavor 4.
When MiFavor 5.0 B13 version came out one of these days, I've updated and again got the same error. So I dig into ZTE's official chinese forum and using Chrome translator I've found that they are not supporting Daydream VR anymore on updated chinese version.
Yes, that's right. ZTE have shut down one of the most important reason that I've bought this phone (and I think there are a lot of users that bought because of this too).
Now we have to stay locked with a Nougat version that is still compatible or unlock bootloader and change to US or G ROM.
Great move, ZTE! Always thinking on your consumers when ditching out Android features, specially the one you heavily promoted to increase your sells.
Another post with user complaining and getting the same robotic answer.
That realy sux and will lose ZTE a lot of customers who will go elsewhere next purchase.
Hopefully a bug which will be fixed.
is this true?.. im thinking of buying this phone being the cheapest with Daydream com patibility and if not..
He's talking about the CHINESE version the international one supports Daydream
Mine is stock on 7.1 1 Nougat at MiFavor UI 4.2 and is Daydream compatible. Need a Daydream View 2 next but will have to be careful if any updates break it.

Might be just that it is a Google service and China blocks things Google.
I'm still thinking if I rollback to MiFavor 4.2 or try the Toolkit to convert my phone to US ROM. I really enjoy MiFavor 5.0 in all aspects. It's a pity that they removed Daydream support from now on. At least it seems they did. Hope they change their minds and it returns in future updates.
And I agree with you. I think it has something to do with Google services blocked in China.
What’s so important on ZTE stock launcher and can’t live without it??
It’s so so poor of customization and lack many features others third party launcher offer.
First thing did when bought Axon 7(G) version is get rid of stock launcher as also replace most of the out of box app with much better third one.
Version 5 MiFavor look very MUI style witch sucks as it is iOS wannabe.
Sent from my iPad Pro using Tapatalk Pro
Of course, anything by Google is banned in China.

Be aware that Daydream mode forces pretty much everything on the phone to run at max even if it's not completely necessary. The phone overheats incredibly quickly. The Daydream View 2 uses a mini heatsink to help a little but I doubt it will do much. I have the original Daydream View and VR is pretty much unusable on this phone much like the original Pixel/Pixel XL. That is unless you like your battery hitting 50C and rapidly degrading. Naturally the phone will throttle if just the battery is that hot.
I can't speak for the Pixel/XL, but the Axon 7 uses its own battery as a heatsink, it has a heatpipe running from the SoC to the battery. I wouldn't have bought this phone if I knew that. Or many other things...
Working just fine on my ResurrectionRemix Rom on 7.1.2 - just have to change a value in the build.prop and you're good to go
Hi, rafabrasil85, I have the same problem, can you tell the IMEI of your phone? I might ask ZTE technicians by email, so...

Hi, have you find the solution to your phone and VR?
Hi. I gave up and reinstalled MiFavor 4 chinese ROM compatible with VR. But in the process I unlocked bootloader and rooted. So I'll stay like this for a while. In future I'll change for Global or US version.
Hi, paatha13, what is your phone mode number? A2017, or A2017G? A2017 is Chinese version, have you tried VR in A2017 or A2017U? Thanks for your reply.
rafabrasil85, to which version do You downgrade?because i downgrade to b17 clear data and cache and still dont have compatibility with daydream

I'm on A2017G with MiFavor 5 A2017 B06 ROM (ADM Team V3)

3 gb/ 32gb Note 5

Hi guys,
Can anyone using the 3gb/32gb variant please assist with my queries, it would be greatly appreciated.
- How is the overall ram management after the latest update? (What is the latest update?) Any lags experienced?
- Also how is gaming on the device, example: real racing 3, asphalt 8? Any drop in frame rates on these types of games?
Thanks
No issues for me but I run Lineage OS.
So after further reading Im abit confused. The redmi note 5 (india version which Im planning on getting) & redmi 5 plus (global) are identical but do they share the same model number MEG7? If not what is the model number for the indian variant and can the device be used outside of india as Im not from there? Will it receive ota updates outside of india?
Also with the upcoming oreo and miui 10 update, will the 3gb version take a hit on overall performance?
Thanks

in india we use MEI7. Talking about the performance, after the oreo update, the phone has started feeling faster. I am using MIUI 10 8.7.10. I have no idea about if it will work outside india, but most of the phones work. And yes it will recieve OTA updates outside india. Redmi Note 5/5 plus is a great device if your budget is tight ( 3 gb 32gb ) but if you are planning to get the 4gig variant then i would suggest add 2k more and get Redmi Note 5 Pro. it is much much much better than that! I am a student and i had a tight budget so i got the 3gig variant! ( i sold my OnePlus 3 for this RN5)

The device is great for the price. RAM management is an issue but it is due to MIUI. Custom Roms works great! Gaming is Awesome. It can run the above games at decent frame rate. Its a great device for light gaming.

Thanks for the reply, is there any difference between MEG7 or MEI7 like gsm bands or modems? The gsm bands on the note 5 is similar to my country so I believe that it will work fine. Yes I looked into the idea of the Pro version but with the flash sales its not possible. The 3gb is fine for me overall for now as I will upgrade later on, just needed to find out its overall performance on gaming and the miui 10 update. Are you using the beta version of miui 10?
Thanks again

yeah i am using the miui 10 beta version and basic gaming is fine on this device. PUBG works fine. MEI7 supports
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 40(2300), 41(2500) - India . As per GSMArena.com

I've not played PUBG but from alot of reading I gather that, that game seems graphically heavier than the two racing games I've initially asked about. Will i be correct in that assumption?
3 of those bands are used in my country so thats okay

yes pubg is graphically demanding then those two games but some games are poorly optimized. i tried playing shadowgun something something(i dont remember that full name), it lagged heavily. PUBG works great but u have to play at Smooth settings. Asphalt 8 works flawlessly
