Getting mobile data tile to quick toggle - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Themes, Apps, and Mods

Here is great guide : https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...ttings-tile-toggle-on-samsung-galaxy-devices/
Worked for me.

I'll have to try this tomorrow when I have the android-tools-adb package installed on KDE Neon good this will definitely come in useful for me when I only want to turn off some connection types instead of going full airplane mode.
EDIT: yay for Samsung's keyboard in all it's typo riddled glory... think I fixed all of them this time.

Thank you for this share. The tutorial is not without its traps. Nightmare to get the strong to paste properly in a Windows Bash environment, and on the Mac, I am getting syntax errors, referencing the "Custom()" tiles in the code.
If you get it to work, please share the solution, thanks!

i got it working on the first try on my Windows PC. Real easy if follow carefully. used ctrl +c, Ctrl +v to copy paste in command. thanks for the share.

Can you paste your get command output from sysui_qs_tiles please?
Even if you got past the weird copy/paste... Curious how you got past the '(' expected error for all the Custom() entries in the file?
Thanks!

Thanks for your response, brother. I didn't end up using your code, cause the guide finally worked for me using a Windows 10 Machine. All commands and outputs looked right and went well on the Windows 10 CMD line and the shell inside adb. Got my MobileData toggle without a reboot, instantly!
Thanks and good luck to everyone!
For what it's worth and to help everyone in the future, this is what my outcomes were like:
1. Windows 10 - All successful! Guide worked perfectly.
2. Mac OS X - Copy/paste looked right, but was getting the '(' Expected error on the put command in Terminal/ADB/Shell.
3. Windows Vista - The copy/paste looked so bad on the put command that I never executed the event. Especially since I didn't know how to copy and push the original sysui_qs_tiles file.
Thanks!

Ultimate Noob Rooter [Mytouch Slide]

Making Rooting easier for people, I present to you
Ultimate Noob Rooter
I have built this following the rooting techniques from the following places:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754020
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=TMobile_myTouch_Slide:_Full_Update_Guide
By using this method, you agree that you take full responsabily of any actions or concequences
that might happen to you or your phone. Once again, I will not be responsible for anything.
STEPS
Make sure your phone is connected to your PC, if it asks to install drivers just click yes..
1) Download: http://www.fileserve.com/file/M6guyMH
2) Extract the .zip folder named "RootMEnow.zip" anywhere on your computer
3) Open cmd.exe and drag it from the *bottom right corner* to make cmd full screen. (Must be full screen!).
4) on cmd type: root.bat
5) read and follow what it says
6) you're done
----------------------
Some people might get errors saying "missing .dll"
Simply copy the .dll files and place them in this 2 places in your computer
C:\windows\system
C:\window\system32
----------------------
Credits go to..
cdsbj6508 (For alllll the testing)
Cyanogen, nbetcher (for the rooting methods)
and me, Xologist
I'm a total noob and this way of rooting my slide was easy and worked GREAT!!!! Thank you Xologist you ROCK!!
Thanks-
One thing you may want to add: users have to cd to the directory that they extract the RootmeNOW.zip in, e.g., if you extracted it into the documents folder, you'd have to open cmd, and type
cd C:\users\usernamehere\documents\rootmenow
and then the commands. Some SUPERnoobs don't know to cd to be able to run a batch file.

Wait.. what?? You are distributing cmd.exe?
I think that MS is not going to be cool with that....
I didn't download the file, so if I've misunderstood then you have my apologies.

xologist: I appreciate that you have been trying to consolidate information in the MT3GS forums lately and make things a bit more noob friendly, but this comment just blows my mind.
It is in no way like sending a text.txt document. Not sure how you can even make that leap .
Cmd.exe is a proprietary program written by MS and governed by the license under which you have acquired Windows. One of the chief points in that license is that you are not allowed to redistribute, in whole or in part, Windows. Cmd.exe is quite clearly a part of Windows and not allowed to be distributed.
On the other hand, if I were to create a file called Test.txt, I would presumably put some text in there. That is a file I would have created and is therefor mine to do with what I please, as I would be the creator of the work..
You really MUST remove cmd.exe from your download. Not trying to be difficult, just want the forums here to stay legal

Youre right. Its cool to make things easy for people, but legality is a must. Plus it wouldnt kill noobs to learn how to mount a directory (personally dont think its rocket science)

There are two threads devoted to unrooting your phone. Please search.
The easiest away to make it "noob proof" would be to make a batch file (.bat) to cd to the directory and execute the commands for the user instead of including command prompt.

Doesn't work.
When cmd returns the # (pound sign), the .bat doesn't know what to keep doing.
Not only that, but if someone downloads it to their user folder, there MIGHT be a windows variable for the user directory similar to ~ in linux, but not sure. So you might not be able to do that. Even so, if someone downloaded it to the wrong location after only scanning directions, it would break the whole process and they'd come here whining "HERP FAIL DEV DIS BROKEN HERE HOW2ROOT DERPPPPPPPP".
It'd be all bad, is what I'm trying to say here, lol.

Guys, calm down.. everything has been fixed..
really didn't think it was possible to screw this up...
but i guess, where there's a will, there's a way.
tried going through instructions. kept getting a lot of errors from cmd, but the commands kept going.
booted back into white screen with writing, and nothing happened.
4. The device will show a progress bar (can take time), ABSOLUTELY DO NOT POWER DOWN WHILE IT'S STILL FLASHING!!!
that step does not happen, nor any of the ones after it. not correctly, anyway.

o just for those who have antivirus protection turn it off before unpack zip an using the program.
D4rKn3sSyS, you really are making things easier for us.
BTW, downloaded this, got a virus warning message:

I ignored it and allowed your awesome program to run. You might want to edit the first post to say that antivirus may give a false positive.
EDIT: For the extremely paranoid out there (D4rKn3sSyS is the man! Why doubt his program?), I ran the program through VirusTotal. RESULT: 5/ 42 (11.9%) returned "infected".
Works fine on mine, win 7 x64/x10 mini pro, using Avast free, no virus warning.
thx

For linux, only will work on the root of your user Folder for ex: d4rk/files here

[Q] HELP!!! Crackin.bat doesn't work

Hi, I was wanting to root my legend 2.2 froyo. I came across a simple guide:
[Guide] Hboot 1.0.1 root, made easy
The guide was easy to understand but on one of the steps, it stated
open crackin.bat (your phone will reboot 5 times)
Click to collapse
I opened it but it doesn't work! My phone doesn't reboot 5 times like what it was supposed to. Am I doing something wrong? Any helps appreciated. Tks!
EDIT: Ok I got it to work but the problem is it gives me an error code!
Code
error: more than one device and emulator
Click to collapse
and the phone only reboots twice.
After that, temproot the device, typed
adb shell
error: more than one device and emulator
Click to collapse
May I know what's the issue here? Sry new to this. Really appreciate any helps.
Maybe try unplugging all other usb-related stuff, mouse keyboard, etc.. so it can't confuse them as other devices?
ahhh, I had this issue when rooting, if you do a "adb devices" you might find you have 2 devices listed, in my case i had 1 "(my device serial) offline" and 2 "(my device serial) recovery"
you have to issue an adb command to kill the server, but I can't remember the command,
oh guess what the command is "adb kill-server" i think thats all you need?
Then it should work.
If not, then you might have to do a search for the exact problem your having, 100's if not 1000's have had simular problems one way or another, so your not alone and the solution should be out there, key word "search"
Ah! Tks for ur generous replies. I actually restarted my pc and then when I typed adb shell, it automaticallies kills the server by itself tks for ur help! Another thing is that when I make my goldcard using goldcard tool 0.07, everything was fine but when I checked my removable disk drive, it doesn't show anything except 3 folders (Android.secure, LOST.DIR and whatsapp) is it supposed to be like that?

[Q] Server Maintenance error when trying to flash P769

I'm trying to root my phone using the Lelus method. As far as I know, I'm following the instructions to the letter. When I get to the actual flashing step, using the ICS T-mobile rom, I get the same "Scheduled Server Maintenance" error that Kevev reported in the guide thread on the development forum. Apparently, he was able to successfully flash, but I don't see any information there as to how he got around the error. I have tried repeatedly and always come up with the same result. Since I can't post yet in a development forum, I have to ask the question here. I must be doing something wrong, but I don't have a clue. I ask your indulgence, and would appreciate any help you can give me.

You get such hiccups if you dont follow the simple instruction first. Many people have habit to extract/save everything on desktop. C drive means C root location of C drive. And you must be logged in as "ADMINISTRATOR USER" on windows 7/8 to avoid access/permission issues.

I'm used to Linux rather than Windows and when possible I put things in a user's home directory rather than the root directory. Since all that the instructions said was C drive, I interpreted that to mean anywhere on the C drive, not the root directory. Now that I put the program in the root directory, everything worked perfectly.
Thanks for your guide!
I just rooted my p769. I had a few hiccups.
Line 5a says optional, but really it's a necessary step if you've never done it once. If you've edited your HOSTS file and are running shttp, then it's not gonna be able to download/update what it needs to. Close shttp and rem out the lines in HOSTS until it updates, the continue as normal.
shttp has to be extracted in C:\
Mine ran from desktop but the 127.0.0.0:9002 test for the girls picture was file not found, look at shttp dialog window and you see it couldn't find the file because it wasn't where it expected it..
Also did you forget to right click and edit UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe compatibility tab if you're running win7/8 like it says to?
Once I set it all up according to the image in the thread and clicked "Normal web upgrade test" it gave me an error box. Saying to setup Tool > B2C Client Setup.
After that it was easy sailing. Well other than the fact that some of the KDZ/bin files were either missing, deleted or dropbox blocked the account for excessive use..

script to increase the volume of Bluetooth headphones

First of all I want to thank @lfom for being patient, at the moment of explaining. Here I bring you a script with which you can increase the volume of Bluetooth headphones and allow third party apps installation on watch. It should work with any watch and firmware.
Compatible with Windows should work with Pace and Stratos running any ROM (tested with Pace running 2.6.2.0)
*********************************************************************
This script increases the volume of the Bluetooth headset. Pay attention to the warnings while executing it.
- How to run in Windows Unzip and run "btvolup_win" or simply double-click on "bt volup_win"
(you may not see the file extension in some cases), then follow the instructions.

Hey Man thanks for quick reply. I know of this thread. I tried this code but it doesn't work. It gives me an error. I could upload the screenshot of that error but I don't know how to do this as I am new to this forum. I tried to upload the image and it asks for a web address, doesn't have the option to upload directly from the laptop. Anyway the error from this code line says
"Get-Content : A positional parameter cannot be found that accepts argument '--uri'.
At line:1 char:1
- content insert --uri content://settings/system --bind value:s:15 --bi ...
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: ) [Get-Content], ParameterBindingException
+ FullyQualifiedError : PositionalParameterNotFound,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.GetContentCommand"
I shared this error with 1immortal who originally post this code line. He told me he would check it and get in contact with me 3 months ago. I contacted him after that several times but he never replied. I saw this post and I thought may be you had new code line but it was the same. Anyway may be you could help me with this.
Waiting for your help.

I don't know what you are doing wrong, but it works.
PS: never share personal info like serial numbers online, I suggest that you remove this info and add your firmware version. If firmware version is too old (lower than 1.3.6) it might not work.
I don't know what I was doing wrong but I ran the process on another laptop and it worked. Finally I feel like I have some use of this watch. A bundle of thanks for @IFOm.
Decreasing the volume
Hi all,
I have Amazfit Stratos and I am experiencing the opposite issue. Even if I set the volume to the lowest level it is too loud. Is there also a way how to decrease the volume?
Thanks a lot.

See my previous post with the adb command: simply replace the value 15 with something lower (10, maybe 8). Please report back the results...
