Can't boot into recovery mode (everything else works fine) - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi !
Recently, I noticed that I couldn't boot into recovery anymore (it gets stuck on twrp's logo). It's quite strange as everything else works just fine (normal works, fastboot too).
I tried to reflash recovery (from twrp 3.0.2-1 to 3.1.0-0), but still can't.
I'm running Resurrection Remix (based on Android 7.), rooted.
Someone had this issue too?

Nobody?

It's all OK in the dev options menu (usb deb ON and Unlock )?
Do you have a back up of the boot partitions?
Did you tried to flash OOS MM recovery ? Then TWRP again?

I tried both (USB debugging is on as flashboot works fine)
Nothing new :/

You might have a bootloader mismatch when you updated it for Nougat. Maybe try flashing it again?

I tried to find a link to download the bootloader, without success, do you have any?

I found the file of the new bootloader, but it seems that I can't flash it without TWRP :/

I tried many things, still can't boot in recovery one, nobody had this problem?

on which android version currently you are?

Hi, I know that's kind of a really big up...
Now, my phone is bricked (boot loop), and I still can't boot in recovery (flashboot still works).
Is my phone dead, or is there any chance to bring it to life again?
Thanks, and sorry again for this up :/

Via fastboot what's the output :
"fastboot oem device-info"
If unlocked = true , did you tried to reflash TWRP from here?
If = false : Megaunbrick guide..

It says "Device unlocked: true"
I tried flashing multiple versions of twrp, without success (the logo changes, so I guess the flashing worked), maybe I flashed wrong versions?
EDIT :
If it can help :
OS : Resurrection Remix v5.8.0 based on Android 7.1.1
Kernel : 3.4.0-Feather-X
Recovery : TWRP 3.0.2-1

Direct After flash twrp, reboot to recovery via power and vol - button
Use 3.1.1 official version

I'll try this

Still stuck on TWRP's logo (flashing seems to have worked as '3.1.1' is on the screen)

I guess my phone is actually dead so :/

Finally ! After looking on every corner of the internet, I tried to format cache and userdata via fastboot, reflashed twrp and it worked !
I really hope that this will help someone

Help me | Problem boot in recovery

Hello! I have a problem during boot into recovery of my Moto E XT1022.
I did the bootloader unlock (with code Motorola) ... all OK!
Installing the recovery TWRP 3.0.0 ... all OK! No error message and successfully installed.
But, When I try to go to recovery the smartphone goes off! (with black screen)
Even if i try in fastboot access in recovery (fastboot boot recovery.img), the screen will freeze in the Motorola Logo.
I therefore can not access in any way to recovery.
I also tried older versions of TWRP and CWM but everything remains the same. How can i fix? Tnx!
Flash stock recovery for once and try to boot into it.
See what happens
put any rom in your sd and flash it by going to twrp
it works

It's OK if you see that.
Flash this TWRP: twrp-2.7.1.0-condor, that works for me.
Have you tried this?

Installed TWRP "Succesfully" But TWRP is not starting

Hi all,
After "successfully" installing TWRP, which already took me lots of time due to strange errors, i can not go into TWRP mode. Only in Standard Recovery.
I followed every tip which i found how to exit the fastboot mode succesfully (pressing Vol+ & Power / Removing USB Cable / Tried TeamSpains Automatic Installer), but nothing worked. Most of the time just a black screen and Blue Led.
The only thing i did not do is typing in "fastboot reboot" because i read that this caused a brick on a few Le Max 2.
Any suggestions how i could finally install TWRP ?
Thanks a lot!
Wow, I'm almost in the same situation, but mine is worse - Neither standart recovery, nor TWRP start.
Can you confirm, that your bootloader is unlocked?
Because in my case, the bootloader was locked and I managed to corrupt the recovery by installing TWRP forcefully, which brought me to the continious boot loop in the recovery with no os loaded at all.
check these commands in fastboot:
fastboot oem unlock (fastboot oem unlock-go worked for me)
After it is unlocked -> fastboot flash recovery bla-bla.img -> fastboot boot bla-bla.img, where bla-bla is your twrp image.
The clue is to use proper version of TWRP from Teamspain or from the thread Official TWRP. You can always use fastboot boot for the first try. And unlock the bootloader first.

i was in same situation guys, things which worked for me is official twrp, flash then immediately hold vol up and power button untill you see le eco recovery appearing on the screen which ll be followed by twrp, if u hold the two button and leave them after getting the first vibration, device boots into system and after that twrp is again overwritten and no use going into recovery afterwards...

Hello again. Blue LED means something like inconsistent version with installed system. Try another TWRP. What version did you run before flashing TWRP? Is it x820 or maybe X822 Indian version?

TRY the "TWRP_5.8_TeaMSpaiN.img" TWRP using fastboot command, which is work for me, my phone is running eui5.8 previously...
link: h ttp://choimobile.vn/threads/cai-twrp-root-leeco-le-max-2-x820-x821.68026/
If incorrect twrp install, either cannot load into twrp(black screen with unusual led light up), have twrp screeen but freeze, or can load into twrp but no touch at all.

Try twrp manager app or the official twrp app. I had problems with teamspain version, appeared not to be working (black screen) but after about 30 seconds it worked. With the latest official version 3.0.2-1-x2 which i installed with twrp manager it boots up immediately
I think as soon as you type fastboot reboot you need to hold power + Volume up button to load the TWRP. Else default recovery gets reinstated.
try to boot into twrp, maybe that will work it described in step 6.4 in this tutorial:

Don't use install img option on twrp it may not work always
Instead of that you can flash recovery using fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery (the name of recovery).img) command

I solved it, I first must install Repack boot with "fastboot flash boot ...img"
After install recovery with "Fastboot flash recovery ...img"
My error Because I should read this first...

Note that the Z2, like most other Sony devices does not have a proper bootable recovery. As such you have to install a kernel that includes a recovery with it. For a time I will try to continue to supply updated stock kernels repacked with TWRP in them. If you are running one of my kernels or have a custom ROM like OmniROM installed, you can install TWRP in the FOTAKernel partition to stay on the latest version of TWRP.

To install a stock kernel, boot the device into fastboot mode and then from your computer: fastboot flash boot path/to/filename.img

However is it true? With latest updates there was bootloader update which brings (or at least should as Sony said) /recovery partition (or more gives access to it, coz partitions was probably always there).
However how it exactly works? I always thought that onee flashed update with newest bootloader will leave new bootloader and this partition forever. But I got Z2 with .291, downgraded it to 4.4.2 for Root and TA backup and than tried to flash recovery to recovery partition, but got error: FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error)).
Does it mean that only on latest update(s) there is possibility to use this partition?
Never tried it on my ZU before. I just started form latest 5.1.1.
EDIT: OK, so what i assumed was right - on 6.0.1 I was able to flash the recovery to it's partition.
Now the problem is with booting into it. How? With Power + Vol- it still stright to boots to OS...
EDIT2: adb reboot recovery boots to different bootloader screen (Power+Vol- gives SONY screen and adb gives SONY + XPERIA screen.
However it still boots strght to Android...
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have 23.5.A.1.291 + unlocked bootloader + TWRP 3.0.2-0 (official) flashed with fastboot flash recovery img.
I'm 100% sure that SONY screen (w/o XPERIA) is the right one as I have identical one on my ZU when booting into bootloader-recovery mode. But why here it don't boot TWRP, but OS?
HELPPPP
Pleaseeeee tell me how did you flash twrp 3.0? I have tried almost everything it now seems impossible for me... Pleaseee helpp me T_T ... Thankk youuu

In the link you will find Stock EMUI 8 Ramdisk, Recovery and System, as well as TWRP and a Kernel that fixes the possibility of losing the capacitive buttons. Download them into a folder on the root of your PC (for example C:\Temp)

I don't know what caused your boot to disappear, mine disappeared when i tried to unroot it from within SuperSU app (Big Mistake), but let's not be drastic just yet. You need Fastboot and ADB on your PC, turn off your phone, hold Volume - and connect the USB cable from the PC to the device. You should enter Fastboot mode. I hope your device is FRP unlocked as well.
Open a command line and input "fastboot devices" to make sure your device is connected
First let's try restoring Ramdisk, TWRP and Kernel:
Run "fastboot flash ramdisk STF-L09_ramdisk.img", then "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk stf_twrp_oreo.img" and finally "fastboot flash kernel B360_fix_kernel.img"
After that just run "fastboot reboot" and see if it boots or not... This should take care of your problem, if not, let's go drastic:
Turn off the device and plug it in fastboot mode again onto your PC.
On the command line run "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk RECOVERY_RAMDISK.img" (this will flash stock recovery), and "fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img" (this will flash your system partition, in small bathes at a time, fresh.)
After that, just "fastboot reboot" and it should boot to your system (and without a factory reset!) If it bootloops for some reason, turn off the device, boot into stock recovery and wipe cache (or do a full factory reset, but that should not be necessary i think...)
Hope all this helps!

eRecovery is to rescue the device, that won't work with Oreo (at least not for me). The stock recovery you enter it by keeping the Vol + pressed and power up the device (just as TWRP), you can enter it? And it gives error when wiping the cache?

The only explanation i see is that the EMUI8 you were using has something different from the one in OldDroid's thread... On mine i did exactly what i told you, those files are the ones i used on mine as well.
Right now you have everything stock right? Can you try to flash one of the Treble Roms? Either AOSP or RR-O?
You just have to download them (they're a system.img file) and run the "fastboot flash system system.img" command, go to recovery and factory reset. Your device should boot.
If everything fails, the only hope i see if to go to OldDroid's thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/how-to/stf-l09c432-how-to-install-oreo-h9-t3707729 and download the files, and follow the instructions on the OP to rollback to Nougat.

The command is
