Does it include the modem?
I'm going to try from lineage.
Edit -flashed from lineage worked fine. It rebooted straight from twrp so i wasn't sure if the flash comppeted. After waiting at bootscreen i still wasn't sure so i did the volume down, power button combo and it booted into system fine.
Edit 2 - no root and loss twrp

Lineage always messes up going back to stock roms. I've had this problem to on 20g to after being on lineage. You'll have to kdz to 20f and get twrp. I had put this on the flashing instructions you must be on 20f/g. .
It does include modem.

Yeah kdz 20f and was able to get root back. Reinstalled your 20h and everything's working flawlessly. I was having problems with my touchscreen being a little laggy and I think your rom fixed it. :good:

Any way to install this update from SD card on stock recovery? I get error Everytime the regular way. Thanks

So even though there is an option to update from SD in stock recovery, it's impossible? Just want to confirm. Just doesn't make sense to me

I'm no developer. I just want to update without rooting or custom recovery. I try it 2 ways, and fails the normal way, and the stock recovery doesn't recognize the update.zip the 2nd way. I probably have it named wrong. Either way, I doubt it's impossible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Its very, very impossible to flash this rom except per twrp.
LG uses security keys to flash anything from stock recovery.

I don't want to flash a rom. I asked how to flash the stock update from the stock recovery because the update errors out when I try to do it the normal ota way. There is an option to update from SD in the stock recovery. It's just that it doesn't recognize the stock update.zip in the stock recovery because I probably don't have it named right. Was just wondering if anyone knew what to name it, where to download the update.zip, how to update with it etc. Didn't mean to offend anybody ?

To install, move files to designated place (twrp/backups/{phoneid}/) or (FlashFire/backups).
at least 20f and root required.
saw nobody put it up so i decided i would.

Mine still has rooted 10c. How to update to this latest ROM and rooted ? TIA
Does 7.0 improve idling/sleeping battery ?

Yes that is probably one of its biggest changes vs MM.
Follow this guide to a T: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/development/nougat-7-0-v521-guide-to-update-v521-lg-t3533338
then boot into recovery, copy my TWRP backup to internal/microsd/usb, in TWRP restore the system and boot partitions that are automatically checked.
Download the latest systemless or system mode supersu.zip and copy it to the main install folder C:\Program Files x86\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\.
Then in twrp click ADB sideload > do not check anything to erase > open minimal adb/fastboot and type adb sideload whateveryounamedyoursupersuzipfile.zip and you should be good to go.

[Q] Android M on Nexus 9

The Google I/O keynote just mentioned an Android M developer release for devices including the Nexus 9. Is this available yet?
hang tight as it was literally just announced minutes ago. i'll post the links here as soon as they're up if you want, but it honestly shouldn't be too hard to find them with google later today haha.
Since I didn't have a 5 or 7 last year when the L preview was out, is the preview delivered and flashed the same way a factory image is?

honestly i'd only recommend flashing this if you're prepared for using pre-release software (although that's arguably what we've been dealing with all along already haha)
but you flash this the same way you'd flash a factory image. if you don't know how to do that i'd argue that you're not among the group of people who should really be doing this, but you'll need to use fastboot to flash it - do you have that installed?
also no, you don't need to unroot or anything. flashing the image will unroot it but rooting it again is as simple as flashing superSU in recovery.

not sure, it'd have to be a custom ROM. dunno if anyone's gonna bother doing that with the developer preview (and not even sure if the source of this has even been released yet?)

i don't think those instructions would work for the nexus 9! the instructions are here on google's website: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
but the flash-all script doesn't work for whatever reason, you'd have to flash all of the images manually
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flounder-3.47.0.0125.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash system system.img
if you have stock recovery installed and want to keep it that way also flash recovery recovery.img
otherwise you can just keep twrp or whatever custom recovery you have installed.
all of those files need to be in the same folder as fastboot.

no problem! i only found that because of a comment someone made on google+ (apparently the only people who use google+ now are developers). i made a thread about this in the general forum, someone over there seems to have gotten it to boot but ran into some pretty severe issues that made it unusable. he did say that he dirty flashed it, though.
yes! please give a how-to if you all get it working.
i'd love to try it tonight after work
I don't think that you need to flash cache and recovery. Cache is generated at first boot and there is a recovery restore script that will flash the stock recovery on every boot.
I kept my data partition (dirty flash) and now I am on the Encrypting screen...
Now on optimizing apps...
Does any one else get on first boot, android failed verification... And then for help go-to g.co/AndroidBootHelp?

[STOCK][Marshmallow] D855 30B KDZ + Flashable Zips (system+boot+modem+root)[UPDATED!]

This thread is for the D855 variants. Files are from software version 30B (Android 6.0 Marshmallow).
Included below: TWRP-flashable stock rom, boot and modem zips. KDZ and individual images are also included.
*There is NO anti-rollback qfuse used in this update so downgrading is still possible. See below for more downgrade info.
Please do not mirror files!
Requirements:
You must have TWRP 2.8.7+ installed to use these files. Thanks to Dees_Troy as always for that.
Best to already be rooted and have TWRP installed while on Android 4.x - 5.x then flash the zips in this thread to update to a rooted stock Marshmallow. It has been reported that 30B can be temp-rooted with Kingroot 4.6.5. So you COULD flash the 30B KDZ, temp-root with Kingroot and then read my long/annoying post here to perm root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64626209&postcount=529 . *update on root* With the info I provided in the previous sentence.. AutoRec for D855 has been updated for Marshmallow 30B.
Install Directions:
These directions should be used by everyone who wants a rooted 30B system. Don't want root? Then it's probably easiest to just flash the stock KDZ.
Before beginning it is suggested to backup your EFS in TWRP then save it to an external SD card or the cloud or your PC etc etc...
1. D/L 30B boot(V2), modem (Hybrid) and system zips along with SuperSu 2.52 and place on internal storage.
(Thanks to Chainfire for SuperSu and thanks to msubhani for confirming 2.52 works)
2. (Re)boot into TWRP. Backup current partitions: boot, system, data, efs. Press home button.
3. If coming from 100% stock Lollipop then a factory reset is optional.
COMING FROM ANY OTHER ROM needs a factory reset [Wipe button > swipe slider]
4. Install modem, boot, system and SuperSu zips (in that order!)
[Install button > select modem > Add zip > select boot > Add zip > system > Add zip > SuperSu > swipe to confirm]
All done.. time to reboot back into Android. (if TWRP asks if you want to install SU, no!)
Any issues with apps crashing etc after boot up may require a factory reset in TWRP for a fresh install of M.
Any issues with no root after flashing all 4 zips... boot back into TWRP and just reflash SuperSu zip.

LG-D85530B-Flashable.Modem.RPM.TZ-AutoHybrid.zip
This is a hybrid 30B modem, rpm and tz zip with parts from 21A and 30B. 100% 30B modem does not yet work with Bump-compatible bootloaders so the option is to use this hybrid modem or use a Lollipop modem. Original 30B modem is still available in the Codefire Directory link further below if needed. Also HERE is the 21A modem/rpm/tz combo just in case you don't want to use the hybrid.
LG-D85530B-Flashable.Boot-AutoV2.zip
This is a flashable stock 30B boot.img. Boot.img contains kernel + dtb + ramdisk. I repacked this to make some things work then Bump'd it. Thanks to Codefire for BUMP.

30B KDZ Mirror
Downgrade/Revert:
1. Use LGUP HERE to flash a previous KDZ version. The LGUP thread assumes you have a G4... so instead of downloading the "8992 DLL use the DLL installer LGUP_8974_DLL_Ver_0_5_CODEFIRE.MSI HERE instead.
2. Restore your TWRP backups. Depending on your TWRP build it may or may not backup modem. If it does not and you flashed the 30B modem you will have to find a Lollipop modem zip elsewhere. All versions of TWRP should backup Boot, system and data.. so only other variable is modem/rpm/tz.
3. Use LG Flash + TOT + NEW DLL HERE to downgrade. I think LGUP is the better option tho... LGUP can flash both KDZ and TOT and doesn't care which COM port it's using.

CM devs have already got their hands on this to grab the blobs for CM13! http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/topic:g3_M_blobs
Currently the new 30B modem doesn't mesh with the downgraded bootstack which is needed for BUMP. Current fix is to keep the hybrid modem I linked in the above post or using the 21A or 21C modems... I've also linked 21A modem/tz/rpm above so you won't have to hunt for everything. Everything required should be in this thread somewhere.
I plan on poking the modem stuff more once I can get an M build for my G3 version.
First of all thanks a lot for the zips
Just one question, in the instructions its says 'Flash FULL 30B ZIP', does that mean all the zips or just the System? I have this doubt because the bootloader is new so we cant use bump on the new bootloader right?

TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.
A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom “ROM” like OmniROM
You can find the source code for TWRP at github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/
Use Flashify / Rashr from the PlayStore to flash.

Ohhh my God!!!!!! i can't believe it!!!! Man you are the master.
Really Really thanks for your great works!
Tested,and works perfect!!!
yeah dude awesome :* thanx it"s work great i test it now !!!
Great. This time I was using Rashr instead of Flashify. Can reboot to recovery without problems.
But I haven't got the cojones so far to check, whether the Power-Volume-Menu combo will brick the phone, as happening with the previous version. I will only get to know once the next build of CM13 arrives, and that again won't even work good enough to let me boot into recovery to restore the nandroid...

Huh? I should be able to access any file system. Can you get the recovery.log by getting to Advanced --> Copy log and post it here?

Check that the rom You're installing is made is made for your phone. The error 7 usually means that the user is trying to install on an incompatible device.

I didn't know that issue before today (yep, I bricked my phone). After fixing it and doing software reboots (through adb) I got everything working. Everything else is working perfectly. Thanks, Edwin. Got your TWRP 3.0.2 and CM13 running by now.
So is it even possible to flash back to stock after installing this?

Can't you flash stock using LGFlashTool? I don't see how to twrp would prevent you from doing so.

Yes... if before you do a rom (stock) backup with twrp
I was able to get to TWRP 3.0.2.0 at boot several times, unlike Twrp 2.8.
However, I got a rather serious brick later, with the P760 restarting every 3 seconds, and no access to TWRP and Fastboot. After unbricking, D/L mode still worked, and installing Twrp anew, I haven't tried that again, always rebooting into recovery.
For the Fastboot problem under Win8.1 and 10 it may help to deactivate all powersave settings for usb hubs and host controllers. I haven't tried that yet.
If TWRP's boot screen won't disappear, hit power twice, and you're in TWRPs lockscreen.
I have just rooted my Galaxy Note 2014, which has an official TWRP 3.0.2. I can tell that that one has more issues than this, despite being official.
Can i ask, please, if i want to switch from cwm to twrp, could o just flash this img? I want to flash your marsh rom afterwards

Yes, just flash the img with Flashify or similar.
If Flashify don't work, install Rashr and reboot, for safety. For some people Fastboot don't work, so the option to flash via PC don't exist. This incurs extra circumstances, if something goes wrong.
I had an old version of twrp on my P760. To flash new one I replaced the old one in flashable zip with this new one, then flashed it on twrp like installing a rom. It successfully flashed. I'm sharing the flashable twrp 3.0.2-0 zip file if it helps. It should aslo work on P765 and P768. https://mega.nz/#!LAggTZbR!58cGt1xxGtIXo_AOSXf4w1RNHTm1I4WgTGDQBuq4Vts
Big thanks to @EdwinMoq
I have reverted to stock weeks ago, to use the phone as a mobile AP with a data SIM. So far, probably because of missing SIM, 5ghz wifi and gps don't work. The dead sensors in CM12/13 came back to life.
As Fastboot don't work with L9 & Win10, i had to root using Kingo Root. I don't like the Kingo superuser tool. Days ago, for the second time, the phone bricked while trying to install SuperSu. It's still in that state.
I was using Edwin's TWRP, which worked fine with CM12 & 13. The older Twrp from Artas had the habit to brick the phone while trying to access it at boot. Rebooting from Android to Twrp was no problem, however. If you go further back in time, there was only CWM. I was using CWM along with stock years ago, seems i have to get it again.

Face unlock not working after rooting latest version

Hi,
I just updated my HW Mate 10 pro to the latest version which includes face recognition. It worked as expected until I rooted the phone with FHMate10Tool. I tried using another method called Magisk but I got an error when trying to apply it through TWRP so I couldnt proceed with this method.
Anyways, after rooting, I get an error saying that my facial features werent recognized, in simple words, front camera wont open, therefore, it wouldnt work.
I even tried to unroot but even after doing factory reset, I can't seem to make it work.
Any thoughts? Please see PS below:

Thanks for your reply.
Model: BLA-L29
Build Number: BLA-L29 8.0.0.135(C605)
EMUI Version: 8.0.0
The weird thing is that I ran a factory reset to remove any root stuff and I still cannot use the face unlock feature due to the error mentioned above.
I had the phone rooted and bootloader unlocked and worked until I rooted the phone.

Is this the original firmware or you rebrand the rom?
Hi, I am on BLA-L29 800142(C432)stock & rooted phone with Magisk V16. Face unlock still running without any problems. Maybe it has something to do with the FH rooting tool?

Original firmware. OTA update.

It's because of FH Root tool.
Download your stock ramdisk from here: https://mega.nz/#!BWxElaRA!lUb-u-jXaPSAN8OrbyG4tEKCWttvqPxMPOVBn6h1PRY
Then flash it using 'fastboot flash ramdisk RAMDISK_BLA-L29C605B135.img'
Then flash Magisk from TWRP.
Factory reset only resets /data, root is kept in your ramdisk (Well. App is kept in /data, but it's just an app.)

Yes, both cameras work as expected. The only flaw is for the face recognition for unlock.

It's the stock ramdisk for your firmware, so it shouldn't cause any problems. However, if you have no recovery_ramdisk or it's incorrect it wouldn't be able to get to recovery.
Flash twrp using fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img

Thanks! Yeah, apparently the ramdisk doesnt belong to this phone. I was able to install TWRP. I'm following the guides you provided as I type this. Let me go through these and I'll get back with you!
It works now! The problem I was having is that I tried installing the Magisk from TWRP as ZIP (which this time I couldnt find anywhere on the phone after copying it via graphical interface in android) so I just ran this command:
adb sideload Filepath\Magisk.zip
This installed Magisk on my home screen and I applied the patch from the app. I rebooted and voilá! it works now. It even had the previous configuration already applied, it recognized my face without even setting it up again.
As the phone was already rooted, Im not sure if this app really roots the phone as it didnt require a factory reset as other methods do, but the issue is now fixed!
Thank you for your support on this matter!

It does not require a factory reset. That was only needed before when TWRP couldn't decrypt phone, and it can now thanks to zxz0o0 and Pretoriano80. Then you had to Format Data to flash as Magisk installs some things to /data (contrary to what I said earlier, but it does need to patch ramdisk to function ). SuperSU only places its apk in /data/ while the rest lives in ramdisk.

Fastboot flash boot.img
It's only magisk for 10.2.24
You can create your own if you want, it's just 30s faster
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Thank you so much for posting this. I'd been trying for 2 days with twrp and magisk (19.1 and 19.2) and could never get past the recovery bootloop on my Mi 9.
Are you on global stable?
I am having boot loop too.
So far I haven't seen any root for 10.2.9.0
Does anyone have boot.img V10.2.9.0.PFAMIXM? I wanna try root, but only need that file

I don't get it, what are you trying to achieve? Keep encryption and have root access?
Right now i'm on 10.2.9.0 running perfectly fine with root (magisk 19.1) but no encryption.

Hi, could you tell me how you root your phone? I installed magisk manager, chose boot.img then got magisk_patched.img. I flashed it via fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img but I got stuck at stock recovery after rebooting. Did I miss any step?

What i did was:
-Flash Stock Global ROM with Xiaomi Flash making sure to set the bat as clean all and NOT clean and lock!
-Once done it will automatically boot , and when it does simply reboot and hold down vol to go to the fastboot
-Flash Recovery img using minimal adb and fastboot
-Type "Fastboot reboot" and hold vol up to go to twrp
-In TWRP FORMAT data to get ride off encryption and reboot into recovery
-Again in TWRP now u can transfer files to the phone, so i patched "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt" and then patched Magisk 19.1
-That's it.
You can now reboot and it will start the phone configuration as normal but once you configure everything u will see that magisk is there and fully works.
Just one thing tho.... be careful if u will restore titanium back up apps...
Don't get me wrong; they do restore correctly but when you make a backup it becomes corrupted or at least that's what happened to me, so make sure to keep backups PRIOR to using the ROM saved in your PC or something.
EDIT: Maybe u should give a try to this twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-xiaomi-mi-9-t3905825, just got updated few hrs ago and so far seems it works really good.

Factort reset? You mean wipe data while stuck at stock recovery? I did. Somehow my phone rooted. But I realized when I charge my phone while turning off it shows mi logo & unlocked words instead of battery icon, even after I unplug the charger. So I have to press power button to turn it on and charge normally. Do you have this problem?

Because once I moved back to revolution OS ( I sawp of ROMs quite often ) I realized that my entire apps restored with titanium were crashing , and the few that actually open correctly didn't hold my data.
They were as if you just download them for the first time from the store.

No, i dont have this problem.
Root images updated to 19.2 magisk.
10.9.20 require wipe all data after flash patched image, this is not practical at all.
1. you stuck in this rom unless you want to wipe all data every time there is new rom.
2. Magisk bug existed in the latest global stable rom, notification prompted everytime you open Magisk to install zip, you can only ignore it or installation zip brick the phone.
10.2.26.0 root/stock
Can I use those with locked bootloader ?
