Can't verify number, i've tried everything - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, i can't verify my number, i've tried everything, reinstall , reboot clear cache, trying with different phones, even try it with yowsup on ubuntu. and always get the same error, it shows me that i've tried to verify my numbre too many times, contact with support, and nothing else, there is no countdown. whatsapp support didnt reply none of my mails. it seems i've reached the verification limit or something like that. i've read that i have to wait two weeks before trying to verify again, then the limit will reset. somebody can help me ?

Unfixable error Message

I have a Pantech Burst that I just upgraded to ICS just yesterday. When I tried to go to contacts I could not get into it and would continue getting the "android.process.acore" error over and over. I looked this up and I have multiple times Factory Reset, cleared cache or data, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, etc. None of these worked. Clearing data let it go to the screen for a little longer before I got the error message again. I have no idea what to do to get this fixed. Anyone able to help?
Just to make things simple. Pantech Burst>android.process.acore error when going to contacts.

'Can't check for updates right now'

I get this error everytime i try to check for the 7.8 update (I will use the force method when it eventually works) I get this message
'Can't check for updates right now. Please try again later.
An unknown error occured
80070715'
Cannot find a solution anywhere, the error code is also 80000fffff sometimes, but it varies between the two
Has me completley stumped, tried everything besides hard resetting my phone which i don't really want to do but i will try that now and see if it helps!
EDIT: A hard reset has not helped, error code 8000ffff is back!

Anybody? I've got the phone connection to the computer with ease now, i had to edit some registry entry's, but i still cannot get it to update. So far i have tried:
Both my dads older Samsung MIcroUSB and the one that came with the phone
ALL ports on my computer
Complete re-install of Zune using the Microsoft fix it to remove all traces

Has anyone tried this? Does it work? After I used whatsapp on PC through Bluestack, it fails to verify my phone number on Android.
Uninstall both OGwatsapp and Whatsapp.... Reinstall Whatsapp from Play Store.... It ll work

yeah it will clear all your data but you can gain it again easily and if doesnt work maybe you change your phone number by buying a new sim card
Any solutions for this? I'm struck with this issue now! Its ridiculous how an app with a Billion downloads has such sh!tty quality control.
I came here because same has happened to me just now and I have been on it for a while... it asked me to wait 21 hours... anyway, the solution was simply to uninstall whatsapp, I then restarted my phone and re-installed whatsapp from google play store... that was all.

go to settings -> apps -> whatsapp -> clear cache ->uninstall -> reboot ->playstore -> whatsapp install ----> and you've done.
i did this method and it worked.
Does any body try this ?? I did but it didn't work ..
im having the same issue, any solutions?
patience!
I had the same problem.
I installed and reinstalled whatsapp so many times in a day that it blocked me for 24 hours, I tried all the options available here but nothing worked.
The only option which worked for me(i tried this option many times and it worked) :
Whenever whatsapp ask to wait for 24 hours or more, exit whatsapp> switch off the phone> leave it for like 1 hour(or more)>after that switch on and try it.
It may give you one or two try, if you fail that again then you have to repeat the above option again.
I have the same problem and none of the solutions listed in this thread has worked for me —might be due to all the updates that have been since then.
I installed and verified WhatsApp. For some reason, I had to perform a factory reset and since then it has refused to verify my number (which didn't have a problem just that same morning).
If I try a text it says that I recently connected and that I should wait an hour, same thing if I try a call. I have waited several hours and even days, always with the same result —which is why I think it's some kind of bug.
I still have the SMS from a couple days ago but it won't take my verification number: "You have to touch Resend SMS or Call Me first".
I tried to contact WhatsApp support but they were useless —as expected.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, guys.

No Solutions have workd yet: unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

I hope this is the best place to post this. If not, I am very sorry. I have found a few posts with same message BUT all of them I found were when this happens after installing a rom or updating, etc...
I have a Virgin s2. I just have original stock rom, Ive done nothing at all to it. I changed out my batteries, turned it on, then after it got loaded I got a popup saying "unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped"! I restarted then as soon as i tried to do something, i received it again. I restarted again & didnt get message til I had opened google & was waiting for search results to come up when I got message saying something about couldnt find a mobile network (or something like that), then got the "unfortunately the process....." popup. It started popping up over & over, including when I got a phone call (which made it impossible to answer, however I was able to call them back okay). I have already tried:
taking out the sdcard;
booting into recovery then wiping the cache partition;
booting into safe mode.
The popup &problem still continued. Oddly, after my husband ran "CM Security" though it found no problems, it was a little bit before it did it again and even now it doesnt popup quite as often as it had been but it still is enough to probably make the day at work very aggravating lol.
Please say theres still some hope! I'm not able to buy another phone right now. I am capable of doing anything possible to save it if you just tell me what would be best to do. I saw somewhere when I searched Google say that installing a custom recovery would probably fix it. If so, please point me to where I can find all the necessary things &instructions I need. Or if it would be better to do a factory reset, please tell me how to do it on this phone (or if I just need to go to recovery & simply do it).
ALSO I do have an identical s2 except it is Sprint & I havent came across a detailed guide for flashing the s2 from Sprint to Virgin that doesnt require the newest paid version of cdma workship, which i cannot currently afford.
Thank you for your time & assistance.
FIXED (at least so far)!
SOLVED!!! (I hope:fingers-crossed
Went ahead & just backed up contacts to sd card, then did a Reset through Recovery. So far no "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" message. :highfive:

Great to hear you fixed (or partially fixed) your problem. The problem with updating stock roms using OTA or kies is that sometimes a factory reset or clearing the cache is required to remove some left over apps or unneeded files that might potentially make your phone give errors (like the ones you were experiencing). It is highly unlikely it is a software issue, unless it was a dodgy download, moreover unfinished file deletion or unneeded files would have caused this to happen.

[Q] WhatsApp Plus SMS Verification Failed

I formatted my phone and tried to install WhatsApp Plus as usual but it did not work. Every time I try to install it, I get the SMS/Voice Verification Failed message. I tried many times to completely uninstall WhatsApp Plus and install WhatsApp from the market and then uninstaall it and re-install WhatsApp Plus but I still get the same message over and over again. I formatted my phone and tried it so many times and I got the same error message.
When I tried using a different phone number, it worked!! And when I tried my phone number again (after resetting and formating my phone by erasing all data from Recovery), it did not and I got the previous error message!!
It seems that the formatting doesn't clear out the settings of my phone completely! so is there a way that I can reset the WhatsApp settings? Or do I have to do something else to resolve this issue please?
Many thanks in advance for your support.
Anyone can help?
