LG V10 VZW in foreign country - Verizon LG V10

Hi, I'm planning to buy a V10 VZW to use it out of USA. So the question is if it will work GSM internationally. I've read that VZW phones are globally unlocked. I know the setting to "global" but I dunno if it will work. Anyone who use a VZW v 10 out of USA without having to call to unlock it?

Hello! I use LG V10 verizon in Europe and it works just fine, as it is supposed to work! No need for any unlock or whatsoever.

International or Unlocked G3 on Verizon

I know how Verizon is with crippling their phones so even if you unlock it or purchase a phone with another carrier you can't change networks.
Any chance the international or Unlocked LG G3 will work on Verizon? hacks or mods to get it to work?

It might work on LTE but I don't think the international models have CDMA radios... I could be wrong but if that's the case, you wouldn't be able to make voice calls until VoLTE rolls out.

Sim card locked?

I've been trying to find the answer but haven't had any luck.
Simple question- is the Verizon G3 sim card locked? If so, is it just to US carriers or everyone?
I know the G2 was unlocked for international and US carriers. I'm trying to find out if the G3 is also just as open.
Thanks.

A quick search would show that all newer verizon phones are sim unlocked. Just only at 3g speeds. 4G will not work on other carriers. :good:
Thanks.
I was just hoping to get confirmation from someone who owned it already.
Thanks again.
Locked in the US. If you are traveling international then no problem.

That is not correct. I just put my T-Mobile SIM into my Verizon LG G3.
All I had to do to get it to work was manually input T-Mobile's APN, then search operators and select T-Mobile.
Got four times the download speed on TMo than I'm getting on VZW...unfortunately TMo can't penetrate my office building, so my G3 is sticking with Verizon.

Can i use LTE on other carrier if i have H900 (AT&T Variant)?

Hello guys, just a quick question. Is it possible to use LTE on my current carrier (Base Belgium) with LG V10 H900 variant which is the AT&T version of the phone? I know that i will have to unlock bootloader and do some rooting, but thats ok. All i want to know is if i will have a fully functional phone after all that. Quick replies will be specially appreciated since i m waiting with my finger on "Purchase" button!
merci!
Hi
I have the same phone and am using it with 4G/LTE here in the UK ON EE network. It will depend on which LTE bands your carrier operates on. BTW the AT&T H900 is not boot loader unlockable. Only the US T-Mobile H901 V10 is boot loader unlockable. There is a EU H960A but I do not know if it can be boot loader unlocked.

Ah thank you very much for your information. So i will have to go for the H901 if i want to be in the safe side. I've found some "GSM unlocked" version of the phone, but it doesn't mention which version of the phone it is. So i wll send a message to the ebay seller to let me know. Also, another question. I got this phone for a friend and it came with 2 years free g.drive upgrade. Is this the case with all versions? Do you know?

Sorry am not aware of the g.drive upgrade. I got my H900 from eBay Chinese seller and have had no problems with any sims, I have an EE Sim currently but have also used an O2 sim with no problems.

Using unlocked H931 on Mint mobile

Hi,
I've been offered a cheap unlocked refurbed V30 H931 variant and I was wondering if it will work with Mint Mobile (T-mobile) out of the box or if I should flash it with H932? My SIM is already activated and working on my phone, i'll just be swapping it out of my old broken phone and into the V30. Also, I travel to europe a lot (mainly the UK) should I flash a different firmware before I go each time to ensure I have the best radio and can connect to 4G service? My old phone is a UK phone and I don't get US 4G with it irritatingly.
Thanks!

Do NOT flash H932 firmware over anything but H932.

Is it likely to work with T-mobile/Mint out of the box? Is there anything you would recommend I do to improve signal/performance with T-mobile/mint on the AT&T variant phone?

AT&T H931 is locked to AT&T. You'll need to Frankenstein it to carrier unlocked US998. Many are running US998 on T-Mobile.
I'm getting an unlocked 931 tomorrow, and will be trying it on mint mobile. If it's unlocked (as the seller says), I think it will work on t-mo network. It certainly has all the LTE bands needed (except 71 unfortunately).
I'll post back if it works or not.
I can say that the unlocked 931 I got works on mint mobile. The LTE signal isn't very strong but the download speed is good and everything else works fine. Really like the v30, what a nice phone.

Unlocked AT&T LG V30 on T-Mobile

Hello all. I have an LG V30 unlocked from AT&T. I am currently in the market for some different phone service. I was looking to switch to T-Mobile. However, when I went to their BYOD Check Compatibility page and typed in my IMEI, it said my device was not compatible. Will I still be able to use T-Mobile, just miss out on a few features, or is it no use to try and get T-Mobile service? I have checked that my phone supports all of T-Mobile's bands save for band 71. I figured all I needed was a GSM device and a new SIM card. Am I unable to switch to T-Mobile, can I switch with limited features, or does it operate at full support on T-Mobile, just an error with the website? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your AT&T H931 phone is actually carrier unlocked, it will work with U.S. T-Mobile.

Thank you for your quick response. I will probably see if I can switch to T-Mobile now. I am still curious though. Why would T-mobile still register my device incompatible? Is it an error with my IMEI or the unlock? Is it something on T-Mobile's end?

AT&T H931 is normally carrier locked to AT&T. So, normally it won't work on any SIM card not affiliated with AT&T. T-Mobile knows that. However, you say it's now carrier unlocked. But there's no way for them to know that, just by the IMEI.

That makes more sense now. I can confirm that my phone is unlocked because I have actually used it with T-Mobile MVNOs in the past. I just didn't know if a full blown T-Mobile card would work in it, being scared of the website check and all. You've helped me to clear all this up and I can't thank you enough.
