Screen split into four parts! Upper two similar bottom has horrible static! - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently unlocked my phone to find that the screen split into 4. horrible static and bottom half looked completely ruined. The touch was working as expected only the display was split into four parts. I had to figure out where each option would be and switch my phone off. Problem goes away on restart. occurred twice.
Recently updated to nougat.... But mostly it can't be a problem with the update cause I found someone on another forum who has the similar problem a year ago and I quote his description, - - - - - " just experienced my first issue with mine. I pressed the home button to light the display to check the time, the display was corrupt! I didn't have anything to take a photo of it but I'll explain it to the best I can. The display was split into 4 sections, each section was showing what the lockscreen should show usually. But the lower 2 sections had a lot of distortion, like old static tv's. This bled up into the upper 2 sections as well. I went to snap a photo but the display went off before I could. Did the same again and it was back to normal."-----

1 year ago I had encoutered this bug for the first time. The second time it appeared I recorded it here:

What caused such a strange bug?

Disable AOD
I noticed on the S6 Edge if you enable AOD (from the s7 firmware) it'll glitch like that, my advice would be to disable AOD.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S III Screen Possibly Faulty ?

I have looked at the forums and I can make a space cadet promise that I did not find anything similar to what I want to ask. So here it goes:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 which is just 4 months old. I use it for casual gaming and mostly for reading books, etc.
I have the brightness set to 'auto' and just below the half mark to conserve battery. I also have power-saver mode enabled (limit CPU performance disabled).
There are two things I have observed, one of them is recurring and one just happened a few minutes ago.
1. Every time I press the power button, swipe and unlock the screen I can see a flicker in the screen and three, evenly spaced black lines (very faint) that disappear in a fraction of a second. This is recurring.
2. Just when I pressed the power button to unlock the screen, the entire screen was plain blue for a flash of a second and then there was the lock screen image of the flower. This happened for the first time.
The phone has not been modified in any way. It is a stock phone.
I would like to ask if this is a defect or something
I read online that Galaxy S III is one of the most problematic phones with a large number of recalls. I would like to diagnose the problem early and send it back if there is, genuinely, a problem.
Factory reset and test at default settings .
I read online that Galaxy S III is one of the most problematic phones with a large number of recalls. WRONG

Factory reset and test default settings or take the phone to a service centre .

[Q] Screen flickering

First of all, I'm new to Android phones and this forum I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, if not, let me know.
I've purchased a Cubot One, knowing what I can expect and it really works fluently, but it comes with an issue, annoying sometimes.
Left half of the screen flickers (in a very exact way, just left half), depending on what it's showing. For example, desktop 1 shows the wallpaper and icons flickering, but if you go to desktop 2 that effect disappears. It never happens in an open app, except if it's showing a bitmap or icon, and not always. If you're in the block screen it never happens. If you're using, let's say, Whatsapp app the screen is perfect, and in most of apps.
I make a complain to the seller and waiting for their diasnogtic, but I thing it could be a software issue, so I'm writing here. Could anybody make any suggestion?
Thanks

Cubot Note S - Vertical white lines on the Screen (software error)

Hi, I bought new "Cubot Note S", what I discovered in the first use was "display whitish" lines lying vertically, when set to high brightness.
At first, I thought it was hardware problem, but later I observed, actually those white(ish) lines are present when:
- screen brightness is higher than about 70%
- and when display is showing darker colors (mainly for notification bar)
- or when using camera.
And also, when moving notification bar up and down, those "whitish" lines moves sideways!
I found one solution for this problem, with the help of "MiraVision" user mode settings, by altering "Color temperature, brightness, and contrast".
You can see the problem and solution in the VIDEO.

Questions:
1) Is it really software error, or hardware problem?
2) If it is a software problem, is there any stable custom rom for "Cubot Note S" ?
Thanks!

Send the phone back to where you got it for a refund.
Many traits with the cubot note s include -
Doesn't boot up and hangs.
Boots up and the sim icon is missing.
Screen burn.
Boots up and sdcard missing.
Problems connecting to wifi.
The ota updater is dangerous and should never be used.
It has a couple of malware apps in system.
Volume button not working as it should.
There are also lots of pro's of course so it is worth £50, but only £50, no more than this.

Screen overlay on Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

For the last two days I noticed that I have another screen under my main screen. I dont know how to explain, but its almost like my main screen is see through and I see another layer under it. Everytime I browse or open anything with white screen you can clearly see another layer. Its appears to be large bar on the left side of the screen and 3 buttons on the bottom of the screen (mic, record and idk the third one) I dont know how to post screenshots here, I took couple and would like to post them along with my post, but Im newbie here and cant seem to find attach button anywhere
My phone is Unlocked Galaxy note 8 SM-N950U1
Solution. Update! Found problem
It turns out its my google navigation burned into the screen. I downloaded Burn Test app and looked at icons closer and realized its from Google Maps wilhich I use all day as I am a truck driver. Image of the map just burnt in. Looks like there is no fix for that other than replacing device

Weird issue: Three dots showing on screen

Hey everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.
I just bought this phone used and I'm noticing a weird issue in Android
There are 3 dots near the top of the display that I can see flashing.
I've tried doing a reset to see if this works, but it doesn't.
These dots ONLY show up after Android is initialized. On the same screen during the reset process, you can't see them. I've included a couple of videos showing what I'm talking about
First video shows the phone after a factory reset
Second video shows the boot screen after a restart from Android
Third video shows it during normal app usage in Android
Fourth video shows the recovery menu to ensure Android hasn't loaded

Those are the proximity sensors.
The bad news is that you need to tell Motorola to replace your phone.
I'm not sure what the good news is here.
I have the three dots too, just purchased 5 days ago. It's just the proximity sensors. I know it's kinda annoying, but they only flash occasionally and it's not easy to see unless you're in darkness or doing something to trigger them. I'm choosing to ignore them -- seems all of the moto edge phones do this, really doesn't bother me and I can't be bothered returning the phone when the screen seems to be working OK.

3 dots
I have had a lot of issues with my phone screen but I've never seen the 3 dots
hello
The device I just received has the same problem as you. The three dots flashing on the screen should be sensors

Yes we have a common problem, but the three dots flashing on the screen are supposed to be sensors, and I wonder what kind of sensor it is
Yes those 3 dots worried me te first day I noticed them but I just tested the proximity sensor and they are under the screen so is not a issue.. but I have a question.. did you guys experienced a battery drain in stand by?
