Pattern not recognized after restoring from a twrp backup - Wileyfox Swift 2 Questions & Answers

I installed the lineage OS rom just to see how well it worked but some important important features I use on a daily basis were broken so I restored to backup I made the day before. The problem is that now my pattern isn't recognized. And before anyone asks, yes it is definitely the right pattern. Even though I mostly use the fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone, I've used this same pattern for the past year or so on my other phone and I checked that I was definitely putting it in right, plus this is the only pattern I've ever used on this phone. Is there any way I can get into my phone without having to factory reset it? I don't have anything hugely important on my phone but I'd rather not have to set it up again.

Reboot your device into TWRP, then go into Advanced > File Manager > /data/system folder and delete all of the following files (if they exist):
Code:
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
password.key
pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
Reboot and profit!

Redmi Note 3 dont accept my pin or the fingerprint, please help

So I just put it in fastboot mode and tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/modified-emmc-file-unlocking-bootloader-t3358486 and got stuck in detecting any device, rebooted and now the device dont recognize my pin or the fingerprint. I dont made any changes
Do you have TWRP installed? if you do, you can delete the .key files from \data\system using the file manager. I usually also delete the locksettings.db, locksettings.db-shm and locksettings.db-wal files as well.
I did a full reset from Google Device Manager, thanks. Kinda new on this whole Redmi thing

after TWRP backup recovering security code doesn't work! ?? - Solution included!

Situation: after TWRP backup recovering security code doesn't work.
Solution:
1.) boot into TWRP
2.) mount system
3.) use TWRP Filemanager and go into folder data/system
4.) delete the both .key files
5.) delete all 3 files with the word *locksettings* in it.
6.) reboot
this should solve the problem
BTW: This solution uses a big security hole in TWRP. Why to hell TWRP has no security lock pin?

[HELP] Can't decrypt phone

Please help! I am a noob here. i was using resurrection remix 5.8.3 then I flashed xiaomi.eu without making a backup. Now when I tried to boot my phone, it ask for the decryption pattern but my pattern is 6x6 and it only shows 3x3. So I went back to twrp and then I made several mistakes in putting the decryption pattern. When I put the correct pattern it doesn't decrypt. Need Help!Twrp password not working, cant access storage.any solutions???
Same issue, not solved!
Hello,
I have the same problem. It took me all day to finally install twrp recovery since I hadn't turn USB debugging on. I finally was able to do it and i deleted the 5 password files - but now my phone is in a bootloop. I wiped the usual data like Dalvik and cache, but it didn't change a thing.
Also, after I deleted this and took a lot on my File Storage, and navigate to /data/system, where i deleted the password files, there is NOTHING but one thing called "storage.xml".
What am I supposed to do now? I dont know what to do anymore, I have so many things already.

Flash a new Rom . Or you can ask for files in data/system from anyone to upload it on cloud from there you can download and copy those files into system folder it might work without losing a byte of data.

I found a solution now, it didn't boot because of the DM verity. I installed a package to solve that via installing in twrp and then it worked, but all my data was gone.
Just flash this file with the TWRP and you're done!
The file is not mine, it was extracted from the PitchBlack Recovery Project.

I'm sorry for uploading the file to mediafire but I could not upload it directly to XDA

Input your pin(the one you set as password for your lockscreen) and after being verified go to wipe and tap on "FORMAT DATA" it will get rid of the phone's encryption.

And make a backup before proceeding this, as you'll gonna lose your data.
Boot into TWRP Recovery. Then choose Advanced > File Manager, and go to the /data/system folder. Scroll down and find the two files with the .key extension. Delete both of them (by tapping on the file and then tapping the “Delete” button). Then, delete all the files containing the word locksettings.
I had a similar problem and followed the guide from How-To-Geeks but because I'm new I can't post a link.

If this is all that is required, then the attached zip should do the job, without needing to format data. Just install it from TWRP, and it will remove the files that have been mentioned.
Note: I have not tested this, but it should work for the purpose of removing those lock files.
As usual, use at your own risk!!!
