What region is your phone from? Sheridan shows up in a lot of the unlocked Griffin's.
I'm on the retus version and it mentions Sheridan for example.

my is reteu.
because sheridan is the 2 sim moto z i guess, the diference between sheridan and griffin is that, but to lock the bootlader correctely, i need sheridan boot and recovery img because of the signed key i think.

You can't. Was already discussed a thousand times. We all need to wait for official, digitally signed Images from Motorola/Lenovo.

[Q] Moto E 2º Gen, Root / Recovery?

Hello I'd like to know if Moto Tool could Root and apply Recovery CWM ?
I did Moto E 1ª Gen bootloader unlock and it worked, Now it's unlocked, does the Moto E 1ª Gen Root Procedure Works in Moto 2º Gen as well ?
PS: I did a search B4 create this Thread

Root procedure is same
unlock bootloader
install custom recovery
flash superSU zip to get root access
Yes the Root procedure worked fine, the cellphone it's rooted confirmed by root checker, but when I do the recovery flash recovery-cwm or recovery-twrp I can't enter in recovery mode I see a message in cellphone like "Boot Up Failed"
Fastboot Reason: Reboot mode set to fastboot
USB Connected
cmd: getvar: partition-type:recovery
cmd: getvar: max-download-size
cmd: download:007f4800

Just to be sure, is your model the 3G version or the LTE version? The currently available TWRP is for the LTE version only.

Yeah it's 3G version ;/
I needed at least a cwm version, in boot mode all them work, but when i try to flash recovery I got boot failed.
You should flash back stock recovery for the 3G model. There are no custom recoveries available for your model yet. I'd make one if I had a 3G unit, but sadly the 3G model is not available in Canada.

Retail EU doesn't have 7.0 Nougat firmware

Dear friends,
I want to ask why Moto Z XT1650 - 03 Retail EU, now doesn't have the full 7.0 firmware yet? Most of version, like RETMX, RETLA, RETCA, TELUS, those have 7.0 full firmware.
Now I would like to unlock bootloader and root my device, but I am afraid of this process will have some issue, I need to re-flash the firmware.
I have already OTA to 7.0
Are there some people can tell me where I can downlaod the full firmware of Retal EU? Or this version will not be released?
Thank you,
You have to ask Lenovo/Motorola why they haven't released officially signed recovery images yet. As of now, you can safely flash RETBR as RETEU, but won't be able to relock the bootloader. But that was already discussed several times.
But the question is that, where can I find the firmware of RETBR ?
Could you please provide the link or share drive to me ?
If I root failed, so I don't want to flash back to 6.0, you know My bootloader was up to date.

Urgently need Indian firmware for Moto Z!

Hello friends. I wanna revert back to stock from lineage os, but my nandroid backup for stock rom seems to have corrupted, it just wont boot. Since yesterday i have been looking for stock firmware for my Indian version of Moto Z, looked various sites but i couldn't find the retail india rom (nougat) for Moto Z . Am I missing something? any Indian brother here who got success in flashing stock rom on their indian version of moto z? If yes, then please tell me about the correct rom to flash. I've a brand new phone, cant afford to brick it while flashing incorrect rom.
Somebody please guide me.

I don't think OTA will brick your phone as updates will be according to your firmware version not according to region.

It will not, BUT on what bootloader version do you are?
If you are on Nougat BL, flashing MM will brick your device...
I couldn't find nougat version of Retin or Retasia. So i held my breath and went ahead with the US 7.1.1 firmware on my Indian device. To my delight, the flashing process went super smooth with no errors. (skipped flashing partition and bootloader though). On booting up i received OTA update of October patch. Accepted it. Now the software version in 'About Phone' under settings shows as 'Retin' and it's working great so far. (please note that i have an unlocked bootloader)
Thanks for being helpful guys.

Just stumbled on your thread while looking for a specific firmware for the G6 Plus. Can you or those 2 you mentioned provide a branded firmware for the G6 Plus?
EVERT_OPW27.113 / Retail channel: tefbr / Carrier: Vivo (Brazil)
Just tried searching on google but only found unbranded firmwares.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Don't mean to hijack your thread. It's just that I already asked on the G6 Plus forums and didn't get an answer. The phone is in a soft brick mode. Infinite boot loop after trying to debrand it. I'm kind of desperate. Thanks a lot.

First of all, thanks for replying guys. Really appreciate it. I've already downloaded the one that @g6er916 cited. This one is the clean (no carrier) firmware. I need the branded one since my device is boot-loader locked and apparently the system performs some checks during boot and only the branded firmware is allowed to fully boot. Do you guys have access to the Motorola rsd cloud? I guess that's the only place where you can actually find it since its kind of specific.
Thanks again for your time. :good:
PS: I can't even unlock the boot-loader since I can't boot it, it would void my warranty and it's a brand new device. :/

Don't know if it's going to work but I can give it a try. Most tags for my carrier come as: VIVBR, VIVO, TELEFONICA, etc...
PS: I can get the unlock data but I will try to avoid going that route because it will void my warranty and I don't know for sure if it will solve my problem. At least for now I can still send it to a service center under warranty.
Thanks.

Thanks.

The firmware I posted covers all of Latin American carriers and Mexico. Also if you unlock bootloader at least you can boot TWRP and restore a backup or whatever to be able to boot the phone

I don't have a backup for the original firmware so I don't think that will solve my problem. Could you please search the firmware archive using those tags for my carrier that I provided? That deleted firmware that you said, can you post the name?
Thanks.

Just tried unlocking the bootloader through Motorola website. Got the code and when I tried it said to enable debugging first. Couldn't unlock the firmware since the phone is in a bootloop state and now I think I am really screwed without warranty. :/ Well, I'm downloading right now from the link that you posted. I give it a try and report back. Thanks.
Couldn't finish the download since I'm a free user. Can you upload to google drive? Thanks.
EDIT: Gave it a try. No go. I'm stuck. In case anyone stumble with a "XT1926-8 / OPW27.113 / Carrier: Vivo-Brazil" branded and specific firmware, please share it here on the topic. For the meantime I will wait till I find it, someone finds it or Lenovo updates the list of supported Motorola phones on the LSA with the G6 Plus. Thanks for all the effort, guys.

Downloaded, flashed and got the same result: boot loop. Tomorrow I will pay a visit to a Motorola service center and see what they can come up with. Just hope my warranty is intact since I didn't successfully unlock the boot loader. Thanks.
