Nova launched navigation background color - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Anyone found a way to make it black or transparent or anything but white after the latest firmware update? I really hate the change and can't seem to find a solution. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

I have not gotten the latest update just yet, but I've heard about it, have you tried something like Navbar Apps?: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.damianpiwowarski.navbarapps

Yep it worked wonders before the update, but not on the home screen anymore. It still works in apps, but you need to set it to just before black. If it's black, it fails for some reason.

So am I understanding this correctly, it is no longer transparent on the homescreen?

Sadly no. It's white'ish . ?

Hmm, is the only apps you have installed being able to modify the navbar, navbar apps?
I read about the update, and to my understanding, the only big thing the changed was not letting users pick black, and immesive mode.
But thats shouldn't change the transparency of the navbar.. Actually you can't even change the transparency in the settings..

This has a fix if you're not opposed to a theme.

I have the german version, there is a point in settings:
- dock, dockhintergrund, Transparenz
which works fine.
should be - dock, background, transparency - in your version?

[Q] Black statusbar

How can I get a totally black statusbar?
Have been looking around, but I cant find out how.
I'm using Foxhound 1.5, which it my favorite, but I hate the transparent statusbar.
When dragging it down, the icons in the back is too visible, which is not how i like it.
Anybody know how to do it or have a link for a mod with a black statusbar?
Thanks

Sorry, my bad
Found it right after I posted it. Got a little confused.
Thanks anyway
[SOLVED]
Ok, so I tried to black out my statusbar, which worked fine on 4.1.1, but now that I'm on 4.1.2 I cant get it to work.
Using Foxhound 1.6 now, and was on 1.4 when everything worked
Have been trying themes from motomoto and raubkatze, but everytime I use a theme that may black out my statusbar I get no theme or SystemUI FCs.
The actual theme and everything else works fine, but the statusbar will not get black.
Has also flashed a theme that contains a black statusbar, but its still transparent
Anyone got a clue?
EDIT: Never mind.. Figured it out!

Any way to change soft keys??

I've rooted and installed g3 tweakbox and gravitybox. However I cannot figure out where to change the soft keys!
Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Or is there another tweak I need??
THanks!
It's in settings and accessibility I think
I know you can change them in the settings of the phone but you need to keep a solid background. I wanted to use a transparent background and still change them.
There's an option for transparent but idk what your talking about
I actually found a thread on some Italian site that had an apk that worked and let me keep the bar transparent!

Darkened home screen background on Marshmallow update?

When I updated my phone to Marshmallow, the home screen background got darkened, as if some kind of black overlay got placed over it. This has something to do with the phone, as it stays darkened when I change the wallpaper and in stock, Apex and Nova Launchers. How do I disable this and keep the wallpapers bright?

Seems your phone is broken, No one here has ever mentioned anything like what you describe
Flash back to Lollipop and see if it's fixed

I have not unlocked the booter, rooted my phone, or anything like that, and I don't have a Lollipop backup either. Is it still possible for me to roll back, or will I have to root my phone to fix this??

That is indeed true... It gets dark on the homescreen... But that is an effect because of all the icons etc i think...

Does anyone know how to change the accent color from Orange?

Is it possible to pick a new color other than the default orange? I probably want a blue or something, but I don't really want to mess with framework apks. Is this yet possible? I did check the asus theme app but I did not see an option for that.
Yeah. Use the themes app, go to my themes, and then find the create button. If you can't find it I'll reply with more info
Put a blue picture as background and make the theme, change your wallpaper back after.

thanks I found the create button under my creations. I can now change the colour settings and icon shape, wallpaper, etc. I'm just playing around with it now. I think I can get it the way I like from here on my own. thanks again man!
EDIT: Actually, it looks better now, but it kicked me out of dark mode in settings and such. I actually prefer it this way, but its also interesting. I wonder if any of the mods I tried initially may not have worked because of the default theme's dark mode. hmmm...
I wanted to make my status bar always black with white icons. used to work on my old phone, but it was old. so yea doesn't work

Pie and display changes

Just got an update to Pie and now several screens (Messenger, Settings, etc) have a white background and blue letters I can't change. Makes it hard to see. Any ideas on how to change background and font in Pie? App Settings don't have an option. Thanks, smart folks!
Did you have a theme installed before the pie update? Try changing the theme.

Did that. Didn't work. Apparently there is no way to change the background color in the Messenger app and it doesn't emulate a theme.
Turn on night mode, that'll at least make the background black. I know that doesn't totally solve your problem but it might hold you over.

That worked! I appreciate that! I also put on a high contrast theme which works as well.
