usb-c to HDMI adapter - OnePlus 5 Accessories

does the op5 support HDMI output?
would an adapter like this work: https://www.amazon.de/Anker-Alumini...1499084828&sr=8-1&keywords=usb-c+hdmi+adapter
i would like to use it with a nexDock (until my Superbook arrives)
will the op5 support displayLink?

Following I'd like to know the answer to this too

There are hdmi related lines in buildprop but im sure the device doesnt support it.

The OnePlus 5 sadly does not support it, it only has USB2.0 and iirc somewhere in the spec sheet on the OnePlus website it's also stated it won't work

Asked customer support. Doesn't support it

OK some bad news.
Just tried my Anker https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/USB-Hubs...d=1499598741&sr=8-2&keywords=anker+usb-c+hdmi
And my Apple USB-C to HDMI https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/50t/Appl...499598762&sr=8-3&keywords=apple+usb-c+to+hdmi
Neither of them even pass through current, which is really really bad, i'm livid as I sometimes play games in work on my monitor when it's really quiet.
So so so bad on Oneplus' part here, this is the first big problem i've had, means you can't stream low latency to your TV using a cable? Wtf would you remove that feature?
Woeful behaviour.
PS: If anyone thinks that wireless streaming is on par with a direct line to your phone for the likes of gaming or even watching movies, you're wrong.
Annoyed the hell out of me that has.

Would this suggest that it can be modified, USB-C is USB-C? Could this be enabled do you think? Hate it when features are removed for no good reason

Ok so just added this line to the buildpro in /system
com.qc.hdmi_out=true
This actually allows the power to pass through but does nothing for output, both adapters now allow juice to pass through, i'll keep digging, there must be a way to allow this.

OK so after a little digging i've found that the VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode may be an option should it be supported? Uses display link
Ok we could use the chromecast which for video is just about ok, but for perfect lip sync and gaming? Forget about it, it's a sub par peripheral which just can't cut it.
I just so happen to have a display link adapter in work so i'll be testing this on Monday. Personally I can't see it but will try.

For streaming it'll be fine..but for any kind of gaming you'll need to have TV out via a cable..60hz 1080p, completely abysmal that it's been left out.

Predominantly emulators yes, bare in mind what this phone is capable of.
Zelda the Windwaker - Gamecube: 100% speed 30fps as it was on the gamecube, a lot of other gamecube games work as expected too.
Megal Gear on the PSP, again 100% speed, 20fps as it was on the PSP, the vast majority of games work as expected on the one plus.
Bare in mind that this is the first phone (amongst other snap dragon 835 devices) which has been able to accomplish this and for a sense of irony it's the first phone i've owned in many years and i've had a lot which has been incapable of a wired TV out function?
I also run some PC games whilst in work, quake 3, Doom 3, Return to castle wolfenstein, all of which can be used with a keyboard and mouse which connects up perfectly on my HTC 10 via an Anker USB-C hub (which was £40, high grade and now useless!)
All Oneplus has done is followed Googles example by not allowing a TV out connection via a cable, it simply shows how out of touch these companies are with their users, yes sure there aren't a lot of gamers, but if you consider that One plus was spawned by a minority of developers who modded their phones anyway, this for me isn't progressive at all, it's a step back and honestly inexcusable in my eyes.
I'll get by, it's not the end of the world, I just don't understand the removal of a feature like this, it's on board, it has the capability, cost would be nothing? So there is no reason for it and little no to excuse.
PS: I'm also a PC gamer and have been for a long time, I play competitively and it's a similar situation, I have a 225mb connection which is completely stable 24/7 via a LAN cable, sure i could use wireless but I would lose latency and have more packet loss if i did and when you consider that I've paid for high end kit to shave off milliseconds losing all that by using wifi would make no sense, it would mean the difference between losing and winning.
Using a chrome cast for casual gaming like candy crush or puzzlers could possibly be doable, however anything that requires any kind of quick reaction is going to fail as the input lag is so severe, also when streaming to a second device you may incur lip sync issues, something that does not happen using a wired connection.
Obviously worlds apart from PC gaming but the principle is the same.

Sixaxxis Controller app

i was wondering if anyone has ever gotten the sixaxxis contorller app to work for the flyer/View? if so what did you have to modify? i have gotten it to work on my nexus s and i realize that something in sense prevents it form working on our devices but i was wondering if anyone has found a way to use it.
Anyone? I haven't found any solution myself
I really hope it's possible.

I know on the phone the main issue is sense. The BT stack HTC uses are not as good as those in vanilla Android. So bt devices suffer. That being said, the only decent controller I have seen people use with success on the 3d, is some $30 one sold by gamestop. If I can remember I'll link the post later.

From what I understand, the Flyer/EVO View's USB port doesn't output enough power to carry USB devices by themselves. You'll have to use a powered USB hub to connect that controller adapter. I have a Motorola Xoom Camera Kit ( basically a male MicroUSB -> Female USB adapter) and I can't get the Flyer to recognize anything, even an externally powered USB HDD, but it could also be the file system on it.

Yea but its not the same price as a PS2 controller as mentioned. See around if there are better deals first

Full HDMI output question

Hello XDA'ers! My roomate just acquired a wonderful TF300! Its been updated to the latest 4.1.1.xxx. I've researched how to downgrade, unlock, root, upgrade and keep root. But..is there currently any way possible to have full HDMI output or mirroring from this device, regardless of the app(s) being used?
Frankly, he's pissed, but I get it. Hulu doesn't even want to play nice on a rooted device, let alone do full HDMI out. Why? Basically you get cable, without the commercials, on your big screen tv. Project Free TV is not an ideal option for him due to lack of an intuitive interface.
Thanks in advance!
PS, would one of those paid apps in the Google Play Store solve this problem, for say, watching Hulu?
EDIT:
The only reason he's considering root is hdmi mirroring.

No offense but I'm a little disappointed with its performance out of the box. The browser froze like 8 times, switching around apps was very sluggish. My gnex was much faster doing the same things. I bet it would soar unlocked with a good rom...
only for movies
AFAIK over HDMI you will get the resolution of your device at best (1280x800/720-bar) when you mirror over HDMI. Movies (that blank the TF300T screen) can be -provided source material is full hd- shown on external monitor/TV in full HD.
I don't know of a way to force upscaling the output to 1080p otherwise.
I'm also interested on an 300TG. In the settings is an option (HDMI) if the hdmi cable plugged in. Here is a choice between "Ausschnittmodus" and "Skalierungsmodus" (german Language). If i try the first one so i have a full screen, but the "taskbar" is missing. If i choose the second i have no full screen but the the bar appears.
I get mirroring when i play videos from YouTube and NETFLIX. Haven't really tried HULU+ cos i have Netflix instead.
Bump.
I've also noticed that in either of the hdmi output modes it's not quite right. Any suggestions for improving the output?

The IR blaster is my new best friend

Lol, I plan on messing with some co-workers during production meetings next week with TV in our conference room.
Love being able to use the S4 for channel surfing too as it is much faster than my slow direct tv box.
I caved and bought the "Smart remote for Galaxy S4" but haven't played with it too much yet. Seems to have alot of function available. Gonna mess with it more this weekend.
Maybe it's my tv, but do you have to point the blaster directly at the TV in order to get it to work?
I love the IR feature. But I found the range and angle to be very lacking. The IR beam seems like its only like 25° degrees... So you have to be right on with your aim. It's a little annoying I wish they would have used a better lens for the IR emitter.

I got all my TVs working decent enough, though ones that have HD converter boxes don't get a guide button. There's a menu button but that only brings up useless options, not the guide itself. If it's a TV with just the digital converter box there's a guide button that works fine, haven't quite figured out how to fix that yet.

Hold down the Volume rocker (on the screen, not on the phone) and a separate pop up will come up. I have an audio unit also that separately controls my sound. It'll bring up a thing to insert it. Strange that they would put it there, and not in the settings but...whatever it works... ya know?

Looking forward to getting the phone and using this! Has anyone found a way to use it with the xbox 360 or is it impossible?

Gameklip, Case, and PS3 controller: A good combination!

Hey all, I've finally gotten all teh stuff together for my alternative to the Moga Controller stuff, and I conclude it's not bad at all.
So, here's the equipment of choice:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EKLW8XM/
The case is a cheap, hard case that's decently stable and has all ports available. It's the only case I found that actually has all the ports open, so that's good. While technically you can use whatever case is your fancy, I recommend a hard case, and you're going to need a cheap one because it's going to have no purpose other than this.
(I ordered some flimsy Silicon Cases prior to this, but realized when I held them that they wouldn't work for my purposes).
http://www.amazon.com/GameKlip-VM-004018-Gameklip--Universal-Casemount/dp/B00AS22BYS/
The Gameklip of course. Unfortunetly the main site that sells these is currently (Or was a few days ago) out of the universals, so if you want to use this you're going to have to do this route. It's decently stable and I find it's sticking power is good enough on the above case; However, if you find it to be inadequate, you can feel free to glue the thing if you want; Like I said, the case should only be attached to the klip, so it doesn't matter.
http://www.amazon.com/GameKlip-VM-004018-Gameklip--Universal-Casemount/dp/B00AS22BYS/
A Dualshock, of course. If you have a PS3, you can use one of those controllers, but just keep in mind that you'll have to do some fumbling in order to bring it back and forth.
Issues with the set up:
The set up is a little hard to get situated correctly due to there being little guiding instructions, so you can end up a little lopsided if you're not careful.
It feels slightly top heavy because of the phone. It's not so bad that it's unplayable, and after holding it for a bit I stopped noticing, but it's there.
Anywho, it's a good alternative to the MOGA or other controllers where they end up blocking the power button and volume keys; With this set up, the only thing stopping you from having all the ports is the case you want. It's also ideal because it's the only option that lets you use a Playstion controller, and, having come from both it and the 360, I prefer it.
HOWEVER, if you are interested in using a 360 controller, there is hope for you, though I haven't used it.
http://www.shapeways.com/model/1443...li=gmerchant&gclid=CNj0se74y7sCFRRefgodfAkAxA
Utor cases seem to be a better alternative if you want to use a real 360 controller and don't want to bother with a case. But, like I said, I prefer the PS3 controller for this, and I'm fairly certain the Xperia Skin has native support for it, so.
The Utor Case guy told me he should have the PS3 version ready soon..that is the one I am waiting for.
Just emailed him to see if he has any update on the ETA.

Not bad, not bad. The Utor (I keep mispelling it Ultor... Such a missed chance for a Saint's Row II reference!) cases look like good ways of working it, and their designs definitely leave all the ports open. I probably won't purchase one unless my gameklip breaks, but it's good that the Z Ultra is getting feasible alternatives.
Indeed! I was surprised when I saw it since it is not a common phone size..but it sure is a conversation starter
Between it and my watch I usually get some comment lol

Well the PS3 controller being made by sony its super easy to connect as the Xperia already has the built in app for it.
On mine I just press the power button on the controller and it is connected. I can see the power level remaining and turn it off from there too.
All it took to set it up was connecting a usb cable first and run the app, and it quickly says it is done.
Cant get easier than that.
Of course, you may still need sixaxis app for some stuff so depends on what you are playing.

I have this set up too but sadly I find game support for the ps3 controller isn't great. Even games like reckless racing 2 that have controller support the ps3 controller doesn't work properly for. Anyone thinking about getting a controller I would suggest get the better supported moga.

LeEco Super4 x55 BLE Support?

Can anyone confirm that the LeEco Super4 x55 TV indeed has BLE support enabled? LeEco showed (on the box) that it supported bluetooth 4.1; however, I can not for my life get any BLE device to connect to the TV or vice-versa. Regular Bluetooth Classic seems to work fine but I cannot get BLE to work. What am I missing? Is there a way to enable it since the TV is suppose to support it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Bump. Anyone? I sure would appreciate any insight.
Wow. Not a single response. Fantastic bunch here.
Ok, I am saddened that not a single person is willing to try and help or offer any feedback. Not a great experience for a new person.
It could just be that nobody actually bought this TV...

For the record, I did buy this TV. However I can't offer any actual information regarding your question. There is absolutely no support for this tv anywhere.

Fair enough. Thank you for your response. I do appreciate it.
I haven't had an issue with any of my bluetooth devices, but, I don't know what version of Bluetooth they are using. I will say that if you're using it for headphones the audio lag is pretty bad.
