Catman Gold Oneplus 5 laser plating soft ultra thin back cover case - OnePlus 5 Accessories

Catman Gold trim transparent case
Ordered on Jun 20th, shipped Jun 21st and delivered on Jul 11th
I was looking for a cheap transparent bumper protective case. I liked the idea that this case had a gold trim that would standout with most skins or the naked midnight black phone itself. I was suspicious that the gold trim would not look nearly as shiny metallic as in their advert pictures but I was dead wrong. Only time will tell if the gold trim cracks or peels. During my initial inspection it doesn't look like there is any way the gold can peal as it's completely embedded into the plastic.
The case was applied over a dBrand Mahogany skin but I suspect it would look even better with the midnight black naked OP5 or any black skin as it would help make the gold trim stand out even more. As can be seen in the attached pictures only the power and volume rocker buttons are covered by the case. That is where the case is thinnest and may wear out over time.
There appears to be plenty of room for the Orzly tempered glass screen protector that I've ordered as the lip of the case doesn't cover the 3D curved screen edge or the OnePlus factory applied screen protector. I'll add a comment about the Orzly tpsp when it's delivered. In general the cover is thin so hardly adds any bulk to the phone unlike the usual bumper cases I've used. In fact it looks so good I'm going to leave it on all the time, rather than just occasionally as I'd originally planned. Only time will tell if that will change.
The case doesn't interfere with any of the bottom ports (speaker, charger, headphone jack ... etc). The cover is every so slightly skewed around the back camera and flash holes but is only noticeable on close inspection rather than being an obstruction. The covers on the power and volume rockers are pleasantly non-intrusive. That is compared to my much more expensive Spigen bumper case on my previous phone.
This case also included a plastic screen protector that is tinted blue I assume to be anti-glare. I'll not be using that screen protector in lieu of the Orzly tpsp.

Wouldn't the transparent part of the case yellow over time?

I don't know, only time will tell. Any way it's only $8 USD so no big loss. Have you had yellowing with a clear case before?

looks cool,
i ordered the black version. should arive soon

Oh yea. With the Ringke fusion for my OPO. The borders were TPU I think, looked really dirty after about 2 months.

Imak Colorful Raindrop Case Review

I bought this case for its really unique look. The picture I saw was for the black note but I knew it would look really awesome on my white note. The case is very thin hard plastic (not flexible at all even though the website states it is) with design of rain drops imbedded into the plastic, the water drops are actually raised up making the back have a strange texture and causing it to be super slippery. I was afraid to keep it on too long as I feared dropping it. It does not provide very much protection at all its more for show and scratch protection for the back, the gradient color from blue to clear makes it very nice looking. I found this one ebay but ended up buying from obostore for $7.99 with free shipping. It was shipped very fast too. I have provided pictures and link to store I bought it from. I would use it for scratch resistance only, I ended up not using it because of the above issues but it did look great! I still use my TPU case for better protection for the sides and screen of the device. There is no lip to protect the screen on this case and top and bottom sides are open. Buy it for the looks not the protection. I bought the blue one but it also available in black, yellow, pink and white. Also note that it comes with a screen protector but it is for the international version with the home button.

dbrand skin + spigen crystal neohybrid case review

I've been using the dbrand skin and the spigen case for about 3 weeks now and thought that's about enough time to share some thoughts with you guys.
Dbrand skin: https://dbrand.com/shop/samsung-galaxy-s7-skins
- canadian company
- shipping + tax came out to be around $30 CDN for front + back + camera coverage (you get a total of 3 camera lens skin)
- material is 3M vinyl
Installation:
I only installed the back as I'm still waiting for my screen protector to arrive and it was super easy. just follow their install video and it took me less than 10 minutes. Key is to use your hair dryer to soften the edges so it moulds to the curvature of the phone and also smooth out the edges in the end to make the skin feel like it has fused to the phone.
Quality:
The matte 3M material feels great in my opinion. It has some gritty texture to it so it's not slick like the phone as is on its own, so it really comes down to personal preference. For me, the priority is to protect the phone so I don't really care about the texture. The skin will definitely protect the phone from scratches, but because it has some thickness to it as well, I think it will protect the phone from potential minor dents. I drop my phone a lot, so I left it inside the case since day 1 therefore I can't comment on how well will the skin stay on the phone without a case but the think the general comments that goes around is that this company makes good quality skins.
Customer service:
I have to comment on this because it was exceptional. I foolishly pressed the wrong button and selected the option "without button cutouts" for the front skin. When I received the skin, I saw that there was no button cutout, I contacted dbrand about it. They reviewed the order and told me that I likely selected the wrong option before checking out, but they replaced it anyway without any hassle. I even offered to ship back the one sent out to me, and they said it's not necessary. I guess that's the kind of customer service you would expect when you pay $30 for some stickers...but then again it was my mistake! lol Shipping was blazing fast, but then I am from Toronto where their office resides.
Spigen crystal neo hybrid case: https://www.amazon.ca/Spigen®-Cryst...&keywords=spigen+crystal+neo+hybrid+galaxy+s7
Material: It's a TPU case with a plastic bumper that goes around the case.
Quality: Feels pretty nice in hand, the TPU has a decent thickness to it so it doesn't feel soft or cheap. All the buttons a covered by the TPU and they are extremely responsive.
Protection: I wanted a minimalistic case that provides SOME protection and this fits what I wanted. If you want a case that can protect your phone through a lot of abuse, this is not the case for you. The front does have enough of a raised lip to provide some protection, and the camera + sensor on the back are recessed.
Because the bumper that goes around the case is plastic, I don't think this particular piece will survive a hard drop. Guess we'll find out as time goes on.
I am waiting for the zagg curve tempered glass, a PET film, as well as the icroo screen protectors and I will post a review on those once I get my hands on them and have spent some time using them.
I have the a dbrand and the same case. I bought the front skin to cover the Sammy logo and capcitive keys. Unfortunately the case peels up the corners of the front skin.

What case did you use on ltd ed blue pixel?

Hey guys gals im having a hard time deciding on what case to use with my limited edition blue pixel XL. I'm steering towards clear TPU or even Google's clear Snap-on.
Would you mind posting pictures of what use on yours?
Thanks!

Ordered a slickwraps distressed tan leather back, probably wont install it.
Bear motion gray, save it for later.
Goospery Yellow tpu, once the blue back novelty fades.
Nillkin brown and gray. This will be my main. Brown is like an already yellow clear tpu
Atleast 7 clear ultra think slim (yea right) clear tpu..
Xtemeguard full body skin, will most probably install the back, as these phones get scratched looking at them..

How do do slickwraps naked matte compare to xtremeguard back protector. Anyone has any experience?
Thanks in advance.
I've went through:
Slickwraps naked glossy
Slickwraps naked matte
Rhinoshield Bumper
Cimo Clear Case
Spigen Clear case
The slickwraps are very difficult to install, suggests using their video (which doesn't exist, by the way; they have install videos for other devices, none for the pixel) and I couldn't deal with it. Material felt pretty decent, would recommend the matte over glossy.
Cimo is good, like the large single cutout on the back for camera / sensors. Doesn't have the beveled edges of the Spigen.
Spigen is also decent, feels better in the hand than the Cimo because of the edges, but it's already yellowing around the inside edges after 2 weeks.
Rhinoshield is currently my favorite. It definitely adds a good bit of width to the phone, but at least the blue isn't hidden or dulled.
Not super pleased with the clear cases to be honest, the blue is quite dull through the clear TPU.
Have a Caseology Waterfall on order, should be here tomorrow. Considering ordering the Nillkin Clear and maybe a couple other clear <$10 cases off amazon until I find one that I don't think dulls the blue so much.
I'm using the red shield clear TPU the one that's open cut out for the sensor camera LED section it's really nice doesn't add Too Much bulk to the phone still much too thick for my liking and when it's brand new it's a little slippery
I use it til my orders get delivered
I used the Spigen Liquid Crystal for a few weeks but I could tell that it was starting to yellow. Felt great though. Using the Ringke Fusion right now (smoke borders) and that looks pretty decent and still shows off the blue back.
Caseology Waterfall came in. Definitely my favorite of the clear cases. It's quite grippy compared to the Cimo and Spigen. Cutouts are good (one long cutout by the back camera so no focus issues).
Still dulls the blue a little, but I'm resigned to the fact that all of them will do that. Probably going to stop looking for cases now.

Got pictures?
It's definitely hard to choose a clear case which can protect the phone while falling down to the ground.
So an issue was brought to my attention yesterday, my current clear case has two cut outs for cam and led, when using the flash taking pictures it crates a a halo glare on the photos.
I remedied this by cutting the center between the led and cam and no longer interferes.

Sorry, got a bit busy.
Potato quality pictures, but all I have is an old S5. The corner shot with those 3 bumper edges are on every corner, not sure if it's for grip on the phone or drop protection. Cutouts are all really nice.
The buttons are really great, better than all the other cases I have. Fit right on and are very clicky. Kind of like diztronic buttons if you've ever had their TPU cases.
It's more rigid than the Spigen liquid crystal, probably more in line with the Ultra hybrid. It's bendy still, not a hard case, but stronger feeling than the liquid crystal I have. Wouldn't worry about any regular, non-extreme case drops with the case on. Feels really solid.
There is a little edge along the back where it has that little cutout curve by the rear glass and then goes down as a rectangle along the bottom and edges. It's kind of like a plastic seam. It could bug some people, but I grip my phone by the edges so never really feel it.
Bear Motion, in Gray
Generic Ultra Slim Thin Clear TPU from eBay 0.8mm thick
Slickwraps Natural Series Distressed Tan Leather
Generic Clear Hard PC SnapOn back protector
It seems that Ringke FUSION is a good option for real blue, clear back with bumper protect, isn't it

[Review] Nillkin Super Frosted Shield Matte case (black)

I ordered this Nillkin case in matte black April 23rd for 12,08€ including shipping. It came today, so delivery was relatively fast considering it was sent from Singapur.
Packaging:
The case came in stable packaging, so it's unlikely to be damaged during shipping. A simple screen protector with a micro fibre cloth is included. Because of the
rounded edges of the N7P it is way too small though, and leaves 3-6 mm of screen unprotected around the edges.
Feel and fit:
It fits the N7P perfectly and the cutouts for microphone, buttons, ports and camera are very precise. Overall it doesn't add too much thickness to the phone
and feels slimmer than the standard case that comes with the N7P. The lower half of the sides and the back of the case are structured and provide good grip.
The cutout around the camera module is slightly taller than the module itself so the camera is protected. While top and bottom of the phone are unprotected,
the edges and sides are completely covered by the case. The sides of the case are the same height as the display. This makes using the phone while in the case
feel more natural but does not offer any additional protection for the screen.
There are some tiny imperfections, like a bump not being perfectly molded as visible on the pictures attached. For the price the build quality is still very solid
though.
Design:
The case is made from a slightly flexible plastic, and the surface is rubberized and matte. The top and bottom of the phone are unprotected, but this way the
copper accents are still visible. The overall color matches the N7P's original finish. Together with the still visible color accents this makes it a pretty subtle case.
The logo in the lower right corner is on the larger side. I would have favoured a smaller, less striking logo.
Conclusion:
For me this is a haptic and visual upgrade from the standard case included by Nokia. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't want super rigid protection
and still wants to show off the N7P's design.
Not durable
In my experience with this case (same material for my older phone), it's not actually durable and will start to break in tiny pieces after a few months.
So, if you want to buy a cover for the long run don't buy it, but if you're going to switch cases in the first place then go for it. The fit and feel is really good.
The bundled acreen protector is not an exact fit but it'll have to do for now

I have had a Nilkin case, exactly the same on my LG G2, my Oppo R9s Plus and my Galaxy Note 4 and they all withstood the test of time?

Best case for ROG 3- Cant find any good CASES. Which one are you using?

I cant find a good case for ROG 3 on flipkart of Amazon. Which case are you guys using? where did you buy it from??
I am using Lighting Armor case as I need to use the air trigger. If you do not care for the function of air triggers (dual & slide), can get IMAK case from aliexpress.
I'm also using the lighting armour , I like it ok it drains power but I still like it
I am using the average tpu case that is available for rog 3, i had to make cut out for the side mounted type c ports though
I'm using this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001345047036.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5d6e4c4d4DwYCq
It's not perfect, but provides enough all around protection, the cutouts are in place.
The included tempered glass screen protector is of good quality, but the black border covers a few pixels on the sides.
It's pretty cheap, I can recommend buying it to protect your ROG Phone 3 - as I said, it's not perfect, but good enough.
Using this one with a tempered glass in the front and a silicon film in the back
I have ordered this IMAK transparent black TPU case with extra corner shock-proofing along with these IMAK clear soft hydrogel films for front & back protection.
Hopefully shipment arriving to me by early next month.
Used to use the lighting armor case until the slippery uncovered aluminium side caused me to drop the phone yesterday, now the phone has a dent on the top right corner of the frame. Lighting armor has the best look of all the cases out there. Now using Zshow case which should prevent it from hitting the screen flat down if I ever drop it again. I'm lucky the phone didn't fall face down with the lighting armor case which would have guaranteed a cracked screen.
I have the imak tpu case too but it cause the tempered glass to lift.
Besides the tempered glass being lifted issue, what's your experience/ feedback regarding your IMAK TPU case (is it with extra corner protection)?
Imak case is quite loose around the air triggers, power button, volume button and side port. Top 4 corner airbags are the problems as they can be depressed quite easily and this cause the screen protector to lift up. You will know when you hold the phone on your right hand with your palm resting with the bottom right corner for support, and this can cause the screen protector to lift.
I'm getting the hydrogel film screen protectors - Hoping that screen lift is not an issue.....
What's your experience or opinion regarding the general damage/ drop protection with this case?
Quality, overall fitting & feel?
It will protect if dropping on the corners as well as face down. However dropping on the back might be a problem because the camera lens are protuting out (although the case cover the camera lens). Placing the phone on the table will also result in wobbly phone when using.
---------- Post added at 06:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:13 AM ----------
Quality, would say it is better than those generic cheap tpu case (which has worse fit than imak), feel wise, it is slippery on the back.
I just received this: Foluu ROG Phone 3 Case through Amazon. £6.71. To hold it without the phone it doesn't feel great and whilst over the standard case it comes with its bulkier I feel so much safer knowing my camera wont get scratched when I put the phone down. It also raises of the front screen by a minuet amount so there is a bump as you move your finger about. I'd rather that than a nasty scratch though so happy with it.
Air trigger holes and extra power connector cut out too as well as on the back a nice design

It covers the side? The picture on amazon looks like it is an open side design. I don't see slapping that case will provide a good grip.

I am using Asus Original Screen Protector without antibacterial coating. The antibacterial protector is not available in my country. Great protector, no blocking of edge unlike the cheap china protector which has thick black borders and block the edges of the display.

Thanks for this, I did think about getting this over.
I'm using the magnetic flip case which is great, but no front lip so don't drop the thing like I did, broke my display as the screen protector didn't quite cover all of it and a tiny stone hit the outer edge.
Not the end though as I've bought another, and will get it repaired under insurance consider it a lesson learned.

FEEDBACK
Took about 5 weeks to arrive (from China).
This IMAK case is good build quality and fit over all, could have been a bit more snug - the extra corner padding does not make it look slick, and I am not sure if it is worth it on balance.
There is a 2 mm lip all around the front panel to help with screen protection.
Cut-outs are spot on - including for air-triggers/ 3 mics/ heat vent/ side USB ports. No cut-out for SIM-tray though but it's better this way.
Camera module is fairly well protected.
No issues with air-trigger related squeeze gestures.
The Hydrogel clear gel screen protector had a ?extra notch cut-out just left of the front camera (?? why) but otherwise the rest of the dimensions were spot on. It came as a set of x2 in one pack, which was a nice surprise. Included a helpful set of instructions/ link to video.
I preferred it to be short by about 1 mm all around the edges to minimise the risk of "lift" when the case is compressed in pockets/ when using the squeeze gestures etc.
The touch feel is smooth and has a good response. Visibility through this screen film is fine; no glare issues. I prefer these type of gel screen protectors to glass.
Has anyone come across a case that doesn't need to be removed when connecting to the accessories (eg Twinview, Mobile Desktop Dock)?
