emui is hravily skinned, not ideal for stock amdroid fans

Cluttered EMUI. Takes some time to get used to it.

Good ol days where EMUI is still close to stock Android.

Jellybean EMUI is the sh*t.

Honor 7 or Huawei P8?

Heya guys o/
Im about to buy a new phone (a mid range one) and after a lot of search, reading and viewing reviews and comparisons in last couple of weeks i was decided to go for Honor 7, but meanwhile i have the chance to buy a Huawei P8 at same price and now i cant decide between these 2.
I would like to have a phone with a solid build, premium feel, good photos and good overall performance and also need the 2 sim slots. I guess they are pretty similar but with some differences that are making me doubt about which one is a better choice ^^
among other some other differences, Honor 7 have the fingerprint sensor, the 20MP camera and 3100mAh battery but Huawei P8 have a better look, its thinner, better screen (?), OIS that should make photos better in general and USB host.
im completely lost and dunno which one i should buy :/
What u guys think? Honor 7 or Huawei P8?
which one you guys would buy? which one is more customizable? something that made me worry about P8 was not to found here a dedicated forum to it ^^
Thanks in advance - i need your expertise
Cheers all
--- edit ---
ps. btw i read somewhere that EMUI dont support multi-user... is this true? and what this really means? i need to access lot of accounts, 3 or 4 personal and 4 exchange company accounts ^^
Both, H7 and P8 are flagships and both are doing great. I am using my Honor 7 for months now and I am in love with this phone. Nice photos, no lags and so on. The phones are twins like. No big difference in performance.

eheh thats why the indecision
thanks for ur reply mate :good:
A plus point for the P8 is the optical image stabilization.
The honor 7 is also not that thin.
The p8 feels a bit like a bigger iphone 5
But I am very satisfied with my H7. The camera is good, just the battery life with Android 6 is not good. But if you don't need the latest Android for now, you are good to go with both phones
Honor 7 is thick and heavy like a rock, no optical image stabilization. 20 Megapixels does not matter at all. Why would you want 5000x3000 unsharp photos? Besides, Galaxy S7 has only 12MP and takes superior photos.
I had Honor 7 for three weeks, swapped it for LG G4 and haven't looked back.

Yeah, because comparing a 700€ phone with a 300€ phone makes much sense
Besides, you are right, 20mp doesnt matter that much.
But here too: try to find such a powerful phone with a quite good camera in the price area up to 300€ (got my h7 for 250 btw).
Huawei p8 all the way. You spend most of the time looking at your device. And to be honest p8 is the best looking device i ever owned and i have owned a lot of flagships. The fingerprint scanner seems a useful thing to have on the H7 but after a while you will stop using it because it becomes more of a hindrance. The only downside of having the p8 is that it doesn't have developer love, so u will not find custom roms. For now there is only 1.

Also the steep price tag of P8 is different.
H7 is a little smaller but also a nod thicker, 13g heavier, but with a bigger battery.
H7 has better main-camera, more advanced wifi (ac) chip, snappy and reliable fingerprint scanner and infrared.
If you have the money and absolutely love the P8, then go for it. Otherwise the smarter choice is obvious.
go for h7. i currently use one and im inlove with it. i had the p8 and compared between the two h7 is much superior in terms of camera, fingerprint to unlock and a slight superior wifi. and specs of h7 is almost similar with mate s with a much lower price tag

Being an old device now, the development is slow but it justifies. Now that there are many new phones far better than 3C.
So sad to see the lone dev to leave.
Well Hassan looks like he's coming back.

not much development

Low light

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Honor 8 Pro's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Average for low light. Nothing really great about it.
Can't say average, but yes can take a pic. Noise interference is too much.
I am seeing really good pictures in whatsapp group but tripod is necessary to get perfect nightshot.
Watched an online review. This one is just a little ahead of Honor 8.

Dont wanne bash you or something, but you find MIUI clean?
The build in cleaner/security/antimalware? apps very irritating!
Will maybe try in the future to ROOT a MIUI rom with nova launcher and removing the above specify apps.
But today im glad i could flash LineageOS!
I find (apart from Google devices itself that is) the Experia from Sony still the cleanish version i have worked with.
But i have to agree with all the other points!
Great phone i love mu phone also
10/10 in my opinion, system is good, multitasking is good, everything is good!
Even the replacement parts are cheap, i recommend!
6/10: Having some touch screen issues sometimes. --> Ghost Inputs/Touchs
One of the best phone's I ever used 10/10
Price $140 Quality $280
title says it all
I just bought this phone last week, May 16, 2018. My first impression about the phone is amazing. Especially for the price, i got this for $115. My Redmi 4x has 2GB/16GB variant. The price to spec ratio is absolutely great. With its specs, we all know what we are getting. Being a practical user that's why I choose to buy one of this. From my Motorola Moto E LTE, which is pretty old device, that's why I need to change to something even greater. Plus I like SD chips. Overall, my experience with my Redmi 4x is amazing. Cheers to all.
10/10 The phone is light, fast, easy to root, beautiful, and neat. I like the Metal finish and love the battery life.

Also, love the fact that you can use it with 2 SIMS on 3G/4G when normally 2nd SIM can only be GSM on other phones.
Very good choice for someone on tight budget
Great phone!
its a good device..really..with root/custom kernel/custom rom/GCam Mod...its even better...thanks to the Devs..
Excellent device.
Battery backup is the true champion.
Never experienced any lag.
Smooth like butter..
Redmi <3
:fingers-crossed:
7/8 overall good
4X
I love this phone so much it's hard giving it up

OEM skin/software

A higher rating indicates that you love it: it adds just the right amount of features, it's visually pleasing, and overall it's additive to the experience. If this is a Nexus phone (you didn't think we hand-wrote all of these prompts, did you?) then use this rating to indicate how the latest version of Android looks to you.

So Samsung is not known for speedy updates. However in my experience when you get a version upgrade there are few bugs. I had a pixel 3 and it was nothing but bugs and some pretty bad. Nothing you could do but wait for the next update and see what that breaks. I have had some phones that had bugs and never had them addressed. Oneplus 7pro had an Android 10 bug of freezing the phone while scrolling through a website. Had to reboot the phone. I tried using beta, stable. Reflashing the phone multiple times and after 2, 3 updates later still had the issue although it did improve.
Contrast that with the update from Samsung with Android 10 and I have not had any of the issues that I had with my pixel 3 which had the same freezing problem as my 7pro. Both with fast android 10 updates that were buggy.
Also Samsung was a little faster with the updates. They still have room to improve but it looks like they are taking it as a serious issue which is good.
Now One UI 2.0 is a pleasure to use. I love it and I hate OEM skins. It really feels polished and well thought out. I do wish Samsung would let us decide if we want ANY of their pre installed apps. And if we want their app store. These are forced upon us and it is always a thorn in my side with every version of Samsung UI. I hope as with updates Samsung starts to take seriously the fact that people like extra features but not extra forced apps we will never use. It would be nice during set up to have a list of pre installed optional software that we could individually or as a group choose to install or not. Simple and gives us a choice.
Overall I like Android 10 on Samsung a lot. The Note 10+ works very well and all of the functions you depend on are solid and reliable.
I like having lots of options and customization that One UI 2.0 offers including regular android 10 gesture support. There are some memory use issues that I have with Samsung in general and that has never changed but it has gotten better.
Samsung has come a long way with their software because there was a time I would not buy their phones because of it. I would not say I prefer it over a more stock experience. I really like what Motorola has done with their take on Android, just wish they would update their phones but the Moto actions like chop, chop to turn on the flashlight should be a feature every phone has and same with the camera action. If Samsung would continue to concentrate on updating devices faster and for longer and continue to trim the fat of the OS even more with getting rid of any mandatory apps besides Google apps then you would have a much more loyal user base even non techies like updates and product support even after it is expected, specifically for a flagship device. It will boost sales in the long term of increase repeat buyers. Something most companies covet. Might help Samsung fight off less expensive and more feature rich Chinese phones by offering software support the others couldn't. It is a factor in making a buying decision. We already know they make nice phones.
Out of the box it made my brain hurt.
High contrast+dark mode+theme+Good Lock Apps+Galaxy store icon pack+custom dark wallpaper+ package blocker and so on; it's beautiful.
Of course Samsung wants it's skin to be very customizable otherwise I would hate it.
Still running Pie because it's runs fast, stable and very thankful for no bloody scoped storage.
It will run like this for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, I really regret updating to Q… smh
I wonder how far it will dropped down your benchmark for office apps... don't need scope storage.
Can still run older app not updated for scope storage next year that I keep backup apks of... and I like my overlay apps.
