Enabling VoLTE on Custom/New Networks - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear Developers,
Our company recently deployed couple of small VoLTE Networks in Pacific region.
They do have new PLMN ID's ( Ex: 553-01 & 554-01) and it seems that Most of the VoLTE supported phones(Hardware + Software) doesn't recognize the MCC & MNC and hence it doesn't trigger IMS/voLTE registration. Regular LTE data is ok. Most of the devices they use are Android (Samsung, HTC, Nexus).
Would you please able to help us or point to right solution and we are willing to opt for paid service as well.
Note: Currently we have couple of device suppliers from Asia with custom ROM with working VoLTE.
Also we realized that "smartisan M1" does work out of box with no Modification.
Thanks
Naren

VoLTE - How will Android manage this moving forward?

Hi Guys,
1. I am NOT an expert as to how VoLTE works in the back end.
VoLTE is the use of LTE to carry voice calls, as opposed to falling back onto 3G / 2G to carry the voice call. Advantages include, lower connection time, wideband audio, etc.
I've recently spent some time changing the CID and firmaware on my HTC 10 to one that is region specific to enable VoLTE on my handset.
It appears the way Apple implements carrier settings means that different carrier settings can be delivered to any iPhone, but it appears Android is currently managing this differently, as OEMs are creating variants of the software to cater for each region/carrier's variations.
What this means for me is, even if I purchase an unlocked device, if it isnt from my region, I will likely have to do extensive modification to enable VoLTE.
Does anyone know if Android N manages VoLTE differently? What's el-Goog thingking here?

Rooting Handset to support New VoLTE Service

Hello Forum,
I currently work for a Telecommunications company. We are looking to deploy VoLTE, however we need vendor support to enable carrier based VoLTE on the handsets, this is proving difficult to enable.
I am just wondering if rooting a device will enable us to manually enter VoLTE parameters to test our service, we have access to various handsets but Samsung S8/9/9+/note, Sony XZ premium / XZ2, HTC.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Regards

Network Operator seeking VoLTE Help

Hello Forum,
I currently work for a Telecommunications Operator in Jersey, UK, We are soon deploying VoLTE across our network, however we are struggling with enabling VoLTE on the handsets, we have spoken directly with the OEM handset manufacturers but its proving difficult to get a VoLTE OTA settings from them any time soon,
I'm wondering if its possible to root a phone and get access to the VoLTE settings that we can manually enter in order to test and facilitate our VoLTE roll out, we have access to various handsets including Samsung S8/S9/9+, iPhone, Sony XZ. Please let me know if this would be possible
Thanks, Regards
Hello,
Is anyone able to give any info on this? Ideally we are looking at being able to manually enter VoLTE / IMS configurations, Is Rooting all that is required to enable this or is the a specific ROM I'll need to install also?
Thanks, Regards

[Q] How does Mobile Manufacturer disable VoLTE on specific Networks?

Hello
I was wondering if any know's the part of Android configurations in which the device Manufacturer can determine which networks to enable or disable VoLTE services (I think something related to mnc mcc .. )
i found many devices VoLTE Enabled in a network but does not work in another network ( where both networks support VoLTE)
i know it's something might be related to nv items, but the only nv items list i found on XDA related to 2012, where VoLTE wasn't presented yet
Thanks for any help or suggestion

Question Does it work outside the US?

Hi,
I'm in France and i was wondering if the Xperia Pro would work fine there ?
As it is only sold in Japan and US...
I'm highly interested in the HDMI port and the ability to livestream with it.
Thanks
The modem firmware image has the following carrier configs. Though, there's no guarantee that the ROM you use will activate them. You'll need someone from France to test support for you.
SFR France - Includes IMS
Bouygues -Includes IMS
Orange - Includes IMS
