*Jelly Beans build 11* UI freezes w/ Latest Applications

Hello,
I'm running Jelly Beans build 11 with the regular beans kernel. For a new user to ROMS, I am very impressed with the built in mods. So far I have found these mods very useful: dropbox mod, google play fix, native hotspot fix, multi-window support for all apps, customizable toggles on status bar, nova launcher, and built-in call/sms blocker.
My main issue with this ROM is when I hold down the home button to access my latest applications. I am able to scroll through my most recently used applications. But, when I select an app my phone freezes and then I get the message "Unfortunately, system UI has stopped". I tried looking around in system settings for an alternative app switcher and was not able to figure it out. Is anyone else having this problem? :crying:
I had this problem on build 9 when using Sense recents. I reflasfed the rom and went back to using stock recents and everything worked.
All right!
I just reflashed JB b11. The first setting in the jelly beans installation is "recent apps". Hahaha! I picked stock for recent apps instead of Sense for recent apps like you said. Now the recent app selector is stable. It's too bad the Sense recent app selector doesn't work. I think the horizontal scroll is nicer than the vertical scroll. But, stable is better than unstable. Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah this is a problem with the sense recents. You can also try fixing permissions if you want to use the sense recents.

running android with no launcher app

hi all, its been a long time now since i first thought on running my phone without any homescreen/launcher app, since i am no fan of fancy animations, rather than that i prefer a phone that doesn't lag and have a decent battery life I've installed the simpliest slimest launcher i know (slim launcher) it weighs only 0.9 mb, but still it uses ram and processor to run, now given that I'm on slimkat it jumped to me again, having slim pie /notification shortcuts, ive decided to set all my apps into those tools, meaning fill up three slim pie rows with essential apps and notification shortcuts with the rest, but before i do anything i would like to read some insights from other users, possible limitations when deleting my last launcher app, and if it would/wouldn't be beneficial regarding battery life and performance, atm i see just one limitation and it's the number of apps i can install to my phone due to the limited amount of free spaces on slim pie + notification shortcuts
any thoughts would be pretty much appreciated

Well you can't run android without any launcher...
And there can never be any limitation as to the number of apps you have to install unless there is no space on your internal sd card...
As to number of widgets ,home screens, apps in pie that is limited as to which launcher and which rom you are using...

actually you can, I've managed to mess up slim launcher several times trying to make it system app and ending up with no launcher app, still phone can get phone calls, music player plays when headphone is plugged in, regarding on how many apps i can install i mean if im not able to acces them through a launcher app, i have limited spaces on which i can place it's shortcuts, on slimpie its 20 slots using normal press and long press, and notification shortcuts i don't know atm
edit I've deleted my last launcher app and it's pretty much smooth

[Q] android dash cam - crane cvr / Softwiner cvr

Hi, i just bought a Chinese dash cam/rear view mirror on amazon, i think its made by phisung
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00P7G994A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
it works well, but the android system is quite dated (4.0.4), and some of the setting are missing or dont work such as brightness adjustment.
so far i've rooted it using kingo and installed titanium and root explorer, and backed up the existing partitions using adb, but what i'm quite keen to do is modify the main launcher screen. at present i cant change the 7 apps on the main windows phone style launcher screen and I want to replace them with alternatives or replace the launcher.
I've sideloaded nova and a couple of other launchers, but whilst I can load them from the app draw, there is no option to set a new default launcher, and the home button always loads the pre-installed launcher, which is some chinese launcher listed as DX_launcher02 in the app draw and daxun.launcher.activity in system/ app folder, I've tried apps like launcher switcher, which have no effect on the default as the options is greyed out.
I've also tried freezing the built in launcher with Titanium, thinking it might then default to nova, but the home button( both hardware and soft buttons) then just loads a blank screen, so I used the recent app menu to go back to titanium and unfreeze the stock launcher.
I'm suspecting there might be a more complicated way to change the launcher, either by editing apk properties and changing the default app to point the shortcuts/tiles to new apps, or by setting a new default launcher, so if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated?
My friend bought exact same model.
He has problem with auto shutdown. Navigating or not - recording or not - there will be pop up that countdowns 10sec auto shutdown.
To abort shutdown - touch the screen. And of course - touching the screen doesn't help.
Have you found any solution for this?
5" Mirror DashCam
Hi I do not know too much about this Android device, but I bought one (Crane_cvr) frm Tingway and it was full of Chinese software. Trying to delete it was not successful and loading Google Play was impossible. The sellers sent me an "new" h200-2.img file which I installed with Phoenixsuite. However, my functionality of the GPS disappeared. I have even connected another working GPS, to no prevail. Since it seems you have lot more knowledge, do you have an idea how I can get the GPS working? I have now been trying for 2 months. GPS Toolbox / Test / etc .. do not pick up any satellites, but it seems the GPS is detected.
Thanks in advance

Android kills background music and sound apps

Hi
The title says. I have test everything I can: modify minfree values, memory locker, killing other apps, but always the background music app service is killed by Android, when screen off or when heavy multitasking. True that a few solutions works better than others, but always happens. I am on LG G3 CM13. In cm forum only recommends minfree change values, but none propose a good setup.
Does any of you have this problems and how do you solve it?
thanks in advance
are you using Greenify or Force Doze or something similar?

Android Oreo style recents page no longer working for emui 10

So a while back when I was still having emui 9 on my honor 8x, I followed this guide to disable the default launcher and get back the old oreo card style multitasking interface?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/themes/how-to-enable-android-oreo-style-t3864229/amp/
I did not uninstall the huawei launcher, but merely disabled it, and I was able to use the oreo card style interface without any problem.
But after I updated to emui 10, I cant use the recent tasks screen with a third party launcher. When I click on the recent apps button, nothing happens. What do I do?

hey thanks for creating this thread, i did the update this morning and i have exactly the same issue now. at first i tried to reinstall the old launcher with the same guide as you followed and it worked but i had to use the new pi multitasking card which is super inconvenient for me.
Then i uninstalled it again with the same guide and the multitasking didn't worked as the first time so reinstall/uninstall didn't worked.
i've tried looking for some apps that allow you to change the animations and the multitasking behavior but i don't think this is possible with a simple app.
it me up if you're on something !
