WINDOWS 7 & 10 PC's don't detect my amazfit pace - Amazfit

I own an amazfit pace smartwatch, bought 2 weeks ago. When i connect it with my PC and laptop(windows 10 & 7) via usb cable they don't recognize it as hard disk in order to see watch folders and import some music following the correct instructions.I hear the characteristc sound when i connect usb. When i browse to device manager i notice that in windows 10 there is no problem with drivers but in windows 7 there are drivers missing.I try to use the download online function but with no result.I feel that is a very simple problem but i am very frustrated because i can't find any solution. Also i am really impressed that it isn't reported such a problem in your great forum,or i didn't notice it browsing the threads.Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Did you tried with restarting watch? Or maybe hard reset of watch? Try also another USB cable.

have same problem, try every pc, new and old windows .. one of the solution i clean the contact point behind the watch, is blocked with our dead skin

I face the same problem, I uninstall the driver from the device manager and re-plug again, now it can detect now.

i used new usb cable--> problem remains
i restarted watch-->problem remains
i cleaned the contact point-->problem remains
i uninstalled the driver(windows 10) and reinstalled it-->problem remains
i uninstalled the driver(windows 7) and reinstalled it-->PROBLEM SOLVED
But my main PC runs windows 10.There must be a simple solution...
the last solution so far is the hard reset.I will inform you when i try it..

I solved my problem. When you connect amazfit it will appear in devices and printers. When you right click it and open properties (somewhere there) you can change the driver from google nexus adb interface to USB composite device. Then It will appear as disk in my computer.

Mine working on Windows 10, detected as MTP device. I do have ADB universal drivers installed but it also works on my Win 8 laptop with no additional drivers installed.

I'm suffering the same problem after many changes of rom and music uploading in the last months. Now the watch is not recognized (unknown device error 43) under 3 w10 PCs, different cables and usb ports. Cleaned contatcs and charging properly but no way to connect with the PC. Desperated...
Any help or piece of advice are welcome

Could you please share the driver link by any chance? .....I couldn't find one ...as I saw from internet I need something like MTP driver...tho all the things are done manually .. so complicated..im using win10 64bit as well, a surface pro4 and my amazfit rom is 1.3.4f thank you!

Windows 10 comes with the MTP driver, so that is not the problem.
I have seen it numerous times that the watch charges but it doesn't get a pc connection.
It is always connected to a bad contact on the back.
Either you have to clean the contacts better or your dock is not working reliable.
A co worker of mine had that and he tried my dock and it worked, so he ordered a cheap one ( not that "bridge" thing ) from ali.
Working since then.

Problem solved
I had same issue but manage to resolve. Go to device manager - USB controllers - right click on the device not found - Update driver s/w - Browse my computer for driver s/w - Let me pick from a list - Untick "show compatible hardware" - Choose Manufacture: standard USB host Controller & Model: USB Composite Device - click next.

I don't know what happened to my Pace. I could connect to it with no problems until now (last PaceFIED I installed was rel 30). Back then (two weeks ago) everything went smoothly, but now when I connect my Pace, "adb devices" can't find the watch. Adb drivers are installed (minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4_setup.exe). I have changed NOTHING on my computer since the last time I connected the watch, but now it can't find it.
I have cleaned the contacts, restarted the Pace... Nothing is helping. Anyone have any idea?
EDIT: Never mind. The post right above helped

quick fix
I had installed adb correctly so what I do ?
For me worked to clean pins in smartwatch gently with toothpick and after that connect it again to the docking station/charger.

I don't have your luck guys. Watch is new so clean (but I still tried to clean the pins), I have no "device not found" and not a single sound when connecting the watch on 3 different computers.
The charge indicators is showing tho... so the watch receive power from computer usb ports...
any idea ?

Has anyone tried changing the USB port settings to control power? It's in the device manager for the USB ports (properties). That worked for me (found it on the net with a similar issue)

I solved my problem with the most stupid change I could do...
I read somewhere (can't even find it) that some people have had problems with the original usb cable... After 5 hours of adb drivers installations, factory reset and whatever, I just remembered that sentence and changed my usb cable. Now it's working perfectly.
While it's so simple that you can think "how couldn't he think of that before?"
Answer is : the watch is charging so no reason to be suspicious...
That could help someone would just bought it...

I resolved this problem, just connected USB cable on other port.

As stated in my previous message, I'd solved my problem by plugging another USB cable. Did you try a wire of yours?

Yeah, I already try to change the cable with another one, but still no luck. This is weird to me because before that I can use that cable to connect it with my PC and now it doesn't detect at all, only work for charging. And if I use that cable to connect phone it work normally

I had this same problem two nights ago and fixed it last night, it isn't your phone that's the problem.
If you have winXP, Vista or win7 it is a problem known by microsoft.
I got it back by going into device manager open up the USB tree. Now uninstall all the USB items that exist in that tree. You should have nothing left for USB.
Then restart windows and leave it recognise all the USB ports.
When it finishes it might ask you to reboot.
Once it is rebooted you can plug in your phone it will recognise it and any usb sticks you have.
Microsoft say that the OS acts funny if you plug and unplug your devices too quickly. It switches off certain things that can only be reset by the method described above.
If that doesn't help then there is a registry hack you would need to do - but microsoft has a little app that does it for you.
Let me know if it works.

[Q] [Solved?] No PC Detection on AOKP ROMs

Ok so I was previously running Hydr0g3n ICS ROM an older version and I had mount problems where only internal sd would mount, but it mounted at least. Occasionally I'd have to reboot my laptop because of no detection but that'd fix it.
Fast forward to a couple of days ago and I installed Resurrection Remix 04/05 but got really weird issues when connecting to my laptop e.g. installing device drivers, failing, usb sounds coming and going, device being recognised then disappearing again. Eventually no response. I reflashed, fully wiped, everything, experimented with drivers. Then plugged it into a mates (newer) laptop and it worked?
Back to mine, didn't work, installed Hydr0g3n ICS 05/05 which ran a lot smoother but still same issues, I repeated the steps above and even after device drivers actually successfully installed, it'd work and then next day no response or detection when plugging in USB. Since then I've gone through the drivers route again, trying all sorts of windows fixes, it still works fine when plugged into a newer laptop.
So after all my research etc I've realised that it seems to be some sort of power issue with the phone/ROM, perhaps the newer laptops have more USB hubs which aren't shared between many devices and so it works but mine is very intermittent if not non-existent. Oh, all other USB devices work, flash drives, external hard drives, I have never had any issues with any USB devices. Just this.
Also, I've tried toggling USB Debugging, and MTP UMS PTP, nothing. Read something about fast charge but have no notification that it's enabled on boot and no option to disable it in Kernel tweaks since I'm not on a supported kernel.
Hydr0g3n ICS ROM 2012 05 05 SGS2
3.0.29 Siyah v3.1.2
Any help would be much appreciated.
UPDATE:
I ordered a powered USB hub off eBay, it arrived today and did not work with the phone.
UPDATE 2:
So I recently stole my dads TouchPad and installed AOKP on it, my laptop detected it absolutely fine in MTP mode.
It uses the same cable so I figured, why not?
I plugged it in and hey presto, it popped up -_-
It's so strange the stock cable works on everyone elses laptops but mine, I don't know if it'll still work tomorrow though, I suppose if I don't re-comment then it still is working.
Bump?

just try 2 flash the latest siyah kernel and check
On Windows 7, after several USB connect-disconnect, I would experience Windows not responding to connection any more on that very USB port.
I usually have adb server running in background, so "Safely remove" feature is blocked, and I would simply remove after file operations are over.
I made a .bat file on desktop, that simply performs "adb kill-server", so that I can safely remove it, and have not experienced this problem since then.

Also my powered USB hub arrived today and it did not remedy the issue.

Could you perhaps explain this a little more to me?
I plug it in and literally it charges but absolutely nothing else happens. Anything else works in the same port, just not the phone for some reason.
USB problems basics .
USB port should be mainboard port .
Usb Port on phone multiple USB problem posts say clean port .
Kies or Samsung USB drivers should be installed with Kies not running .
USB cable try Samsung cable or another .
Try USB debugging off and or on .

1) Yes they are all mainboard ports - No response.
2) Have cleaned USB ports on mainboard many times. This seems irrelevant too since all other devices are recognized.
3) Have also experimented with combinations of this. (All combinations) Nothing.
4) I have only tried the Samsung cable since it's all I have, and it works on all of my friends laptops.
Also, I plug it in, and it draws power (aka it charges) but nothing else. Not even a windows 'bong'. Even with the powered USB hub, it still only charges.
However the minute I plug it into a friends laptop it seems to work just fine.
@ op
goto device manager and uninstall the android devices you see there with the option "delete device drivers completely" and make a reboot.
now install the usb drivers and plug in the device.

This last point tells me there are possibly some registry settings on your computer that are keeping the drivers from loading properly.
I've never had to do this, so I don't know what to look for EXACTLY, but you may need to get a registry cleaner and try to eradicate all traces of Kies and Samsung drivers from your computer, then re-install either Kies (to get the drivers) or the stand-alone USB drivers.
I remember reading another post some time back about some other guy who actually totally re-installed Windows... which is a bit like using explosives to kill a mosquito, if you ask me.
However, try bala_gamer's suggestion first. That may be all that is needed.

So believe it or not I didn't actually go into detail in the op! But a few more things to note are that the device does not show up in device manager at all. Even with shadow device detection enabled. I have used all manner of driver software available to clear out all old usb drivers/any drivers which may be conflicting etc. I have also removed and reinstalled the usb host controllers and root hubs many times

Yes, indeed I also believed it to be some sort of registry problem, I have also used tune up utlities, registry mechanic and ccleaner (I think thats all there was!) and run registry scans/cleans/fixes/defrags. To no avail. I was actually considering reinstalling windows or something.

[Q] Windows 7 "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" failed installation

Hi
For some reason I am now getting a Driver Installation Failure error for my S3 when I plug it in to USB on Windows 7. The driver is SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device, which fails after a long (3 minute or so) install attempt.
This means I can't access the Phone via USB for file tranfers etc, either Windows Explorer or Keis. Though I can use ODIN to Flash if I put the Phone in Debug Mode.
I have tried all sorts. Un-installing the Samsung Drivers, rebooting and reinstalling, and getting Kies to try a driver repair.
It wasn't like this when I started with the phone. Something changed - after I rooted it. I am currently on the Omega ROM 6.0 with standard kernel. For a while I was on 5.1 with Syloa 1.1 and then 1.26. I realized it was wrong when I couldn't copy Omega 6.0 ROM ZIP over to Flash.
I have searched and searched. This seems to have happened to other phones as well but be intermittent. A few other phone on XDA have reported this in the last couple of weeks (so maybe a Microsoft change to Windows 7?)
As a weird related issue sometimes when I plug the Phone into WIndows now I get two removable drives showing, which are "Samsung USB Gadgets" using a 2006 Microsoft Driver... They show as removable drives with no drive in them. Again all my tricks of disabling uninstalling, re-installing etc these seem to make no difference.
Anyway - any ideas / fixes help appreciated!!!
Cheers
So here is the cure. First connect your phone to your pc. Now right click my computer and select manage. Go to device manager and expand the universal serial bus controllers tab. Now you should see something like unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark. Right click it and select uninstall. Now reconnect your phone and try it.
Now again check in device manager after installation. It should look like the one in the attachment.
I've got the same issue; can't get the MTP drivers to work on my Win 7 machine or my work XP box. Both had the Galaxy nexus drivers on them previously (I think, came from ICS Captivate).
Are you sure USB debbuging is unchecked in settings?
If that's not the problem, you could try a different pc or os (a live ubunt cd for instance) to see whether it's the phone or the computer thats messed up.
Fresh windows 7 install and still nothing. Could the phone be messed up?
Have you tried a different USB port?
Yeah tried all the ports/cables I've got lying around. In safe mode it will install everything okay but Kies still won't connect. :/

I also have Omega ROM 6.0 but the problem started BEFORE Omega ROM.
Did you also back up your efs folder using SGS Toolkit 2.0?
I seem to have had the problem after flashing the "insecure image" which one has to do using the SGS Toolkit in order to backup efs.
Ive also uninstalled and reinstalled pretty much EVERYTHING, drivers, Kies, SGSToolkit etc...
I have 5 pc's at home. ALL of them cannot connect to my SGS3, and ALL could connect to my SGS2 a couple of days ago!

Hi there
This may work in other situations, but I have found out what caused my MTP to start working again, and it is NOT the computer, it is the phone for 100% sure.
I had this issue on 5 PCs in my home, ALL of which worked fine with my SGS2.
I did a factory wipe, wiped dalvik, and re-installed Omega v6 rom, and it now works on all 5 computers.
I do not know why it started, but the thing I did before the problems started was to use SGSToolkit v2 to flash an "insecure image" so I could backup efs folder. I have a feeling it is related to this, but I do not know for sure, and the maker of that software says 20000 people have used his software without this issue, so it cannot be his software.
Anyhow, by reflashing omega, and wiping the phone, it now works.
Mark.
Worked for me too.. It was the phone.
Mark,
Thanks. I too had Omega 5.2.
I wanted to upgrade modems but found I couldn't connect via PC as I had lost Root.
I too downloaded Version 2.0 of the tool kit and downloaded the insecure kernel and flashed it.
After that I could not get any PC to recognise the phone.
I got Omega 6.0 on wirelessly
But connection problem remained.
So your full wipe worked. The phone is now behaving and connecting to any PC I try.
Thanks
Geoff
Possibly the USB cable?
I ran into this issue as well. When I connected my phone to my (Win7Prof64) computer, the OS recognized and downloaded the drivers and my phone's directory came right up. When I tried the same the next day - I received the "unknown device" message. After about an hour of troubleshooting I learned something interesting - I was using a different USB cable than the one I received with my phone. I connected the USB cable I got with the phone and everything automagically worked again. The USB cable must use another wire that "regular" USB cables don't? Here's a chat with Samsung support regarding the cable:
Gavin: Yes, the USB cable supplied with the device is Samsung recommend and is the Original. So, we request you to use the USB which is supplied with the device.
Doug: will i damage the device at all if i use a different cable to simply charge the device?
Gavin: No, it will not damage the device while charging.
Gavin: But, it can face some issues in connecting in mass storage mode.
Hope this helps!
Here's what I found about about my problem.
Samsung Galaxy S3 does not like USB 3.0 ports on my laptop.
Plugged the phone into the USB 2.0 port and it worked perfect.
Hope this helps out some of you!
The same device on Win7 OK, on XP not.
4 me it happen after Android upgrade to ICS 4.0.4 but only on XP PC. Win7 found new drivers online automatically.
May be XP is to old 4 ICS
One solution I found here: http://androidforums.com/4819200-post7.html however don't want to hard reset my device
Some body can try driver pack 4 all phones here: http://www.mobiledit.com/downloads.htm?show=14
I had this happen on occasion in the past and just now (moved to new laptop). What I have done that works for me is that you open up the details (where it says that it's installing your device click here for more details) and let it find/install all the drivers. Eventually it will fail with the MTP driver, KEEP that window open. Now unplug the usb cable FROM YOUR PC (don't ask me why but this works 100% from the phone side not always) and then plug in again. You'll see the MTP driver search start again and this time it should install.
FIX
1. Download and install the s3 Toolkit here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
2. Don't run it but browse to \Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit\drivers
3. Run USBDeview and uninstall everything with Samsung or i9300 in the description (right-mouse)
4. uninstall Kies and USB drivers.
5. Disconnect phone
6. Install \Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit\drivers\Samsung_USB_Driver.exe
7. Connect phone.
Tadah!
Solution
Here is the only solution that could resolve the problem for me after days and days of trials and errors.
Just go to device manager and manually install the driver after selecting it from the already available drivers.
over and done.

no hardware id

Hello All,
i had a problem with my phone every time plugging in galaxy s3 into windows (xp or 7) i kept getting no hardware id found after flashing my last rom.
just thought i would share how i resolve. very simple steps...
power off and remove battery
uninstall any drivers from windows
insert battery
power on device
once fully booted plug device back into windows and let it search for drivers.
all "should" now be working.
just thought it would be helpful to share as took me a while to find information online.
Got the same problem, with the difference that my S3 is fresh out of the box. Installed kies, drivers. Tried all of the usb-ports but nothing seem to work.
Was looking to root it but the connection (looks to me) would be an must...

jups, tried several cables and all of my usb-ports. Still no marriage between phone and desktop
funnily enough i just had this happen to me on my win 7 64bit ultimate, havent flashed any new roms just stock with cf root. All of a sudden my comp gave the sound effect if something was disconnected and I just got hardware id missing.
It did resolve itself though after I rebooted both phone and pc so unfortunately cant narrow it down further.

Is KIES loading while you are trying? If so, shut it down.
I've never had to load drivers. Windows always finds them on it's own.
missing hardware id (Win7 64 Home)
Same Problem for me.
I have never used Kies, but installed des Samsung Driver Package Ver. 1.5.6.0 .
For 3 month all worked fine with 2 Galaxy S III, 2 S II and 1 S I.
Since yesterday i have this trouble. Reinstall drivers, shut down phone... nothing helps. Changing USB-Ports, nothing...
Running on Stock XXBLG8 wird Syiha 1.5 or Speedmod K1-8 Kernel.
Would be fine if there is a fix or at least idea how to solve this
Just so everyone knows, the way i fixed this was very simple.
1. Uninstall Kies and All Drivers
2. Reboot Into Recovery (If Roooted)
3. Wipe Cache and Dalvik
4. Fix Permissions
5. Install LG8 Rom (rom installer from UpdateMe)
6. Reboot Phone
7. Disconnect From Internet (PC/MAC)
8. Re-Install Kies
9. Connect Phone to PC/MAC
10. Let Phone Install Drivers Again with Kies
11. Should Be Good-to-Go
1
-On Control Panel go to Programs and Features find Samsung mobile USB drivers and uninstall it, conect phone on PC via USB cable and wait for drivers to install.
or
2
-Use Kies and klik Troubleshoot problems with connectivity
That should solve the problem

this worked for me but i have to repeat the process every time in reconnect my phone to the pc
It works
Hi guys,
I think I figured it out.
I was reading posts about this issue on multiple forums and there was one that caught my attention (I cannot remember where it was exactly- it was late in the night).
The thing is that the current Windows running PC's (or most of them) does not have the latest drivers and updates installed.
First I tried connecting my Galaxy S3 to the PC (which was not updated) and had the same errors you guys have. Then I connected it to my home laptop and this did not work as well. Today when I went into the office (@work) i tried again there and it worked flawlessly. Then it hit me:
The IT dept keeps the laptops and all the infrastructure up to date (including Windows updates). Therefore I tried again at home but this time with Windows up to date and guess what...it worked on both PC and laptop !
What I did (please keep in mind that all of my laptops and PC's are running Windows 7 - not sure if it works on older Windows versions):
1) Uninstall Kies and the related USB driver it installs (Control panel -> Programs and features)
2) Let Windows install the latest updates (Control panel -> Windows Update) and let it reboot your machine and finish installing things.
3) After you're logged back into Windows just plug your USB cable into the phone and PC/Laptop on any of the USB ports and it works !
Hope this helps !
Regards,
Mike

i try other usb connection, same problem..
now when i connect my Galaxy S2, same prob.

Samsung Composite Driver is exactly the Problem on Windows 7 X64!
I installed these drivers SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones and this solved my problems with the ID issue. Here is the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/fm9b12xy3r0t07b/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.zip. Good luck guys
i try it with only Windows Update Driver that was not the Solution, that was without ADB Support..
I resolve the Problem, :good: if anyone have the Problem further, try this..
- uninstall all Samsung Driver & Kies from your System
- then you need the tool USBDeview
- uninstall with that tool all unused or Samsung USB Driver from your Sys
- Reboot your Machine
- after that clean your registry (example with CCleaner)
- Reinstall or Update your Motherboard System Driver (Only USB)
- Reboot your Machine
- Install Now Samsung Kies again
- again Reboot your Machine
- and last disable USB Debugging on your Phone and activate it again
now you can plug your Device and hopefully with MTP and ADB Support and without Hardware ID Error.
Best Regards
This happened to me since I updated Kies. What works for me:
Go to settings -> more (under data usage) -> USB Utilities -> connect storage to PC -> OK
Windows now does recognise the phone and you can browse the phone as a drive. Kies will give you an error.
Turn off USB Storage, disconnect the phone.
Take out the USB cable and put it back in and Windows should detect the phone properly now and Kies will recognise it too.
this worked for me first time
Flashed rom, new error of mulfunctional USB and not recognized phone on USB. Interesting is, that another phone, but the same type, same ROM was recognized. Nothing from above helped (reinstalled progs, restarts, reinstalled ROM, tweeking in kies)
Helped only reinstalled drivers posted above by gee2012 (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones)! Thanks for this.

Big thanks, these drivers sorted it out for me though the ones you hosted have gone from your dropbox I found more easy enough because of the name you supplied.
Just out of interest are those having this problem using an AMD chipset or a gigabyte motherboard? My main PC has both and its the only system I am having this issue with.
had this happen again after flashing a new rom from a full wipe. un installed the drivers then reconnected and fixed the issue.

[Q] [PROBLEM with] USB Connection and recognition

First off, hi all.
I have a bit particular problem.
Few weeks ago I got my self a SGSIII for my birthday (already had one, but it got stolen), and since the beginning I've had the same problem: My computer won't recognize my SIII, not even as Unknown device, won't even charge it, only if I take out battery and get it back then plug it in - it starts to charge but again there is no sign of any kind of hardware being connected on the PC. The cable I'm using already got me connected with my previous SIII device to this very same computer, so you're thinking "it must be your new device then", but no - the same cable and same device work on my other computer.
SO; on my computer (with Win8), it wont connect in any manner - only charges if battery was just removed; it connects to my other computer thru same cable (this one has Win7); but the same cable connected my previous SIII to both Win8 and Win7 with this cable with no problem.
This is what I tried so far:
Kies unistall, install, reinstall, update - all that stuff
Driver only, uninstall, install, rebooting, installing blah blah - did that also
So; anyone here has any IDEA what is going on? Thanks in advance.
Question impossible to understand .
Return the phone to the vendor under warranty .

I'll try to simplify:
My SIII when plugged in to a computer - not recognized, not even as Unknown device in Device manager.
It does not even start with the charging, unless I remove battery and put it back in.
I thought the problem is with my Win8 pc, because my SIII works on my other pc (that has Win7). BUT my previous cellphone (also an SIII) was recognized every time on that same computer with that same cable. So I'm wondering if anyone had this problem or has a clue on a solution - the problem itself is not that hard to understand.
try to set: use as camera - works for me on win8
