Why do you think more free RAM improves anything?

Free ram = wasted ram.

Exactly the same question I was going to ask. Forget free RAM. Forget RAM management apps. Forget closing apps to free up more RAM. Linux memory management is already quite efficient. Your utilities are not going to improve it (either at all, or by any significant amount).

That's it. Free RAM is unused RAM. It's useless until it is used... Any device has inbuilt memory management that cares about the memory needs of running processes. If your device shows free RAM of 1GB all the time than your device has 1GB more RAM than it needs.

Why you want more free ram? You bought a phone with 3GBs of ram just to use half of it, why?

They think its windows, when you dont have free ram anymore it will lags or out of memory lol...

[Q] how much free ram do you usually have?

how much free ram do we need so that the phone doesnt lag?? let me know!
Free RAM is wasted RAM.
Definitely. It's an old discussion leading to troll generally. What is important it's the total amount of ram, to have a smooth multitasking, to avoid background apps to be killed to free ram.
That's why some scripts try to modify memory management to optimize it. But free ram by itself is not very important.

I usually have 500MB+ free RAM, but I have got a swap partition (2GB) and I've got barely any apps running, as I free my RAM a lot..
Usually around 300mb, if I keep multitasking in check
i know the term Free Ram is wasted ram but when i have less than 100 megs of ram my phone's performance sucks. when i free my ram up to 200+ megs of ram, my phone is a lot smoother.
sent.
200+MB.. i dunno what to do with the wasted RAM lol

FullHD Screen Per App RAM Eating

I had Galaxy s2 with 821MB of RAM and i know that every app (not game) was eats about 20-50MB of RAM
I was sure that xperia z2 with 3GB of RAM it's more than enough but the reality is different
I see that any app in my Z2 is eats about 80-120MB! But why?
OK, maybe i know, because of tha resolution difference (in s2 800X480)
Anyone have any additional ideas for the increased RAM eating?
It uses more RAM because it can. In your S2, the OS had to ration what ram the device had between what the OS needed and what each app wanted, plus saved a bit for cached processes so overall everything would feel snappy. With 3GB of RAM, the OS has a lot more room to spread out, so it does.
Think of it like this, if your family lived in a 2 bedroom apartment, then moved into a 4 bedroom house, you wouldn't leave 2 rooms empty. Either people that didn't have a room to themselves would use them, or you would find other uses for them. Android is doing the same thing with the RAM.
You have 3GB, don't worry about how much RAM is being used, ignore it and enjoy your phone
Dont worry about ram at all, when ram is needed the kernel will free some ram up
Usualy you only actualy have 14mb free, your ram in your settings or most apps show freeable ram

I'm looking for a more accurate explanation for this fact
I'm from these users them uninstalling system apps and care to run with minimal battery drainage.
So, not received exact reason for eating the amount of memory unlike in galaxy s2

I was run with galaxy s2 on 400MB of free RAM and maybe 250 when running browser+gps+poweramp
This is not windows xp, its android and its healthy to have ram used rather than being free.

Why do you want more free RAM? It has been repeated ad nauseum on this and other forums, but I will say it again - FREE RAM IS WASTED RAM!
>2 GB ram on miui

Ram Management on POCOF1

#PocoF1 is termed as #MasterOfSpeed but giving only 3.4gb of memory for a 6gb phone is unacceptable!Ram management of this phone is simply ordinary.
Please retweet the issue guys
Free ram is wasted RAM in an OS like android, as it becomes almost full, it will automatically clear the oldest apps so you don't need to worry about that. If you're rooted you can use ram management tweaks like changing minfree values.

To run everything quick and smooth. It keeps everything in RAM to access instantly. This happens with most of the phones with 4GB + ram. Don't worry about it

i too was puzzled why , yes free ram is wasted ram theory but i have not installed most of mine own apps yet .surprised nobody bother , what if this phone come with 4 gb ram , it would be maxed out easily
That's not how android ram management works, if you would have 4 GB of ram, the phone would load apps on background up to 2 GB. Free ram is wasted ram, miui ram management is aggressive enough already. You guys need to understand that the phone automatically closes down apps when more ram is needed.

Realme XT uses a lot of RAM?

I bought the 8gb RAM version of realme xt, but only 4.28gb is available out of 8gb.
Is this a issue or the color OS is really this heavy?
How much ram is consumed for 4gb ram version?
Unused RAM = wasted RAM, you should be happy it's being used.
