Request for a notification light fix. - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & O

Its a request to all developers. If possible please make a fix for the notification light which we can flash over custom roms and works like stock i.e. glowing green on
100% charge, while charging if any notification arrives etc. Because it is very important feature in smartphones but nobody give any interest in it. :good:

In the Notification settings, you need to set the color values correctly:

Doesn't work, even with your patch (which fixes the red to green light when battery is charged over 80% - thanks BTW!).
Read my post on reddit:
Once the phone receives a message, the screen turns on (ambient display) and the green LED blinks. As the screen turns off, the LED behavior changes. It starts blinking randomly. Sometimes it stays on for several seconds and sometimes it just turns off, then starts blinking randomly again. It's a driver issue, reported as "lazy" by the dev itself. The user could easily miss the message if he/she relies on the visual aid alone. As you know, in stock, it stays on until the user reads or dismisses the message but blinking draws much more attention, which I prefer. Thanks for your attention.

Sometimes, the led just stays on until doze kicks in. As I said, it's pretty random.
LM Kernel developer (Iuri <3) will try and work with liblights but it's yet uncertain if he'll succeed - even Shreps said that he'll look into it when he'll have the time.
Good luck to us all and god bless the devs.

Yes, I've already followed your guide, right after you published it.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work as you would expect, I guess (on l36 at least).
The behaviour I described continues happening after some time - I wasn't the only one reporting the issue after applying your patch so I know it's not exactly isolated, and I'm talking about days of testing, not for just a couple of hours.
If you feel I'm still wrong and that your solution fixes the problem (or if you want to help further), head over the LM Kernel group on Telegram and discuss the matter with Iuri and Shreps, so that your method can be incorporated into future versions of LOS. Thanks!

So you are the only one who can not normally install the patch, and adjust the color of the indicator! I'm writing through an interpreter, and I do not see the point of discussing it anywhere else, as hundreds of times the developer wrote in the topics, and everyone was spit on. In our forum "4pda", and not only, the patch works, and is installed without problems, and also perfectly fixes the problem of the LED. Why does not it work for you? It is known only to you alone. I already did a favor by publishing this patch here. I will repeat - at us, at all, the patch works. The problem is with you. All the best.

Sorry, but not working on a6020 2 gb ram, AOKP rom

Just have in mind that here on forum you have members with much more knowledge and experience than you, so don't be a douchebag. There are no easy solutions, what works on one device, doesn't need to work on another.

I do not even need your patch, it's inessential and minor, I just pointed that there are more people with no luck using your patch.
I'm sick and tired of people here on xda, creating something that's partialy working and having too high oppinion of 'itself'. A tiny effort is complimentary, but not prodigious.
Learn good manners, and a bit of English if you're arguin with people here on xda.
P.S. Moderators usually close threads on OP's requests and in the case of forum rules violations. So if he is not satisfied you don't have the right to demand it.

Will it work in miui

Tried it on DotOS 1.1 on a6020a46 2GB : I had always red light even when charged, now I have always green light, even when not charged...

[Q] SOS!!!! Help!!!!!Froyo Roms make home and call buttons not work correctly.

Am I the only one suffering this glitch. At first I thought it was simply because the first Froyo roms were still under much needed construction. But now I have tried a slew of them and I get the same problem. I even gave the developers the benefit of the doubt and assumed that it was one of my apps that was causing the conflict, but after refusing to reinstall my apps after an initial wipe, I ended up with the same problem.
These buttons work the first time that the roms are installed. But after the second or third reboot, they become completely dysfunctional. Well, let me correct that: they only serve to wake my phone from sleep mode. But the call button does not call or answer calls and the home button does not take me home.
I feel deprived. My life and happiness depends on Froyo!
nope mate its your phone what phone do you have and what radio are you running, as im running froydvillain and them buttons have always worked no matter the rom and i have rebooted many times

Had such a issue when flashing froyo WITHOUT FULL wipe over a 2.1ROM
So - perhaps try full wipe (system/data/dalvik/..) and reflash.

This post has nothing to do with android development - it is a rom specific (or build specific) question but a question none the less - it either belongs in the Q&A section (yes that's Questions and Answers) or in the thread of a specific rom. The fact that you thought that the development section, where developers bounce new ideas off of each other in order to progress what we can do on the android platform, was perfect for your uninformed and ambiguous at best question shocks me. I'm guessing you haven't even used the search function or found the topic which discusses this exact issue elsewhere (aside from the rom specific nature, which is unlikely to be the case anyway as you probably haven't gone back to a 2.1 based rom to test it) and suggests that it can be fixed by cleaning out the insides on your phone with a non-corrosive alcohol based circuit cleaning agent. But if you had searched around you probably would have tried that and this topic wouldn't exist. [Don't try and get snarky with me, buddy ]
My recommendation would be to try the full wipe as "dont know" suggests and if that doesn't fix it then its most likely a hardware fault. You'll have to actually try to search the forums and read through recent posts in the general and q&a sections to find the hardware fix for this issue.
Your issue is caused by faulty keychars/keylayout in /system/usr/{keychars,keylayout}
Replace those from the official ROM or from a ROM in which it worked for you.
Moved to Q&A, and to clarify, feel free to use the report post button at the top right of posts to report them if they're in the wrong place in the forum, and I'll move them.
Cheers

[Q] I have a big problem with my Phone.

Guys at the first sorry for my bad english.
My uncle has bring me a Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 (AT&T) 1 weeks ago.I'm living in Turkey so phone was unlocked. There was a rom on the phone ([email protected]).I wanted to turn the phone the original firmware...
And i read some Turkish forums and i downloaded an original ICS firmware (4.0.3) for 'Galaxy S2 i9100' (look at the problem 1). And then when its loaded i have open my phone. There was 2 buttons are not working from LED (Back and Search). And then i have tried to install a lot of firmwares , Roms , kernels.. A lot of i777 Firmwares giving fail when installing but i9100 firmwares are not giving fail(Look at the problem 1).When i install a i9100 firmware i can't speak with phone.(Look at problem 2). And my problems :
1) I wasn't know my phone is an i777 because on the start screen there is writes i9100. When i take of the battery i have seen the model number. (i777) Why there is writing i9100 on the start screen ?
2) I can't speak with my phone. When i call someone i cant hear dial tone but their phones are ringing. And when they open the phone i cant hear their voice. What can i do ?
3)And the baseband number. On the Phone Information there is writing my baseband number i9100. How i can change it ?
Guys anyone can help me ?

1) Alto of times when the i777 is flashed with a i9100 firmware (or just rooted and has the yellow triangle on boot up) you will get the i9100 startup screen.
2. When you flashed a i9100 firmware it will include a modem for the i9100 which is not compatible with our i777 and the sound when making calls the other person on the call will not hear you.
3. Baseband is the installed modem. Which shows you have a i9100 modem.
So just download this file and flash it in cwm and you will have a i777 ICS kernel from Entropy, a i777 ICS modem, and all the appropriate files for your phone to work properly.

You can also look up Entropy512's ICS HELLRAISER post in the forums for more info.

I think maybe u misunderstand. I never post BS....or call someone names...I do however encourage them to search. Sometimes I'll just say search. Other times ill try and answer the question. I'm far from a professional. I've just been here longer. That doesn't make me any better than anyone. But we all have to be held to the same standards. I understand his first language isn't English. if you dont want "BS" to be posted, the why are you responding to a guy that you claim to only post it? knowingly encouraging something that you say you don't like would only make the problem worse in your situation. wouldn't it? it would be cool if everyone would either....
1.) not bicker back and forth
2.) just not respond to eachother
3.) focus on the OP's question at hand
by the way. getting scared and coming to XDA should never be a reason for someone to get "special" treatment. that only makes the issue of clogging forums and spoonfeeding worse. if someone has done something that they are scared about or nervous, then they decided that they were better than most people and decided not to read all the prior warnings that are usually labeled before flashing anything.

Let me start first by requesting you spend more time reading since reading is not only good for us but for you too, seriously.
You said you found out the device is actually i777, it's good, it's a good sign, at least you checked and asking in the right forum.
For ROMs, both GB and ICS, let me direct you to this thread by Chris.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532368
But before digging into any of those, I strongly recommend you getting your device back to stock first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659
For those questions you asked, I believe Rock has already covered.

Because if you don't correct the behavior, it perpetuates and repeats. The guy made multiple posts on a subject that could have been answered by reading. How else is he going to know that if no one points it out?

Guys thanks you a lot
The responses in this thread is exactly why I regret buying my phone. I love the phone and hardware but the behavior of members in the forum is downright rude.
The OP should have posted in Q&A. The OP should have read more, but it does not warrant the responses from others of being rude. The OP can not write really well in English, what makes you think that the OP won't open 10 new threads asking what they can't understand after reading? I want people to read like crazy, but I don't want to read rude post... there is a moderator that takes care of all this, stop trying to act like one with the rude behavior.

You said you found out the device is actually i777, it's good, it's a good sign, at least you checked and asking in the right forum.
For ROMs, both GB and ICS, let me direct you to this thread by Chris.

But before digging into any of those, I strongly recommend you getting your device back to stock first.

Make sure you have proper drivers installed on the computer. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I777ZKAATT
Watch this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6OqMRZW1_Y start around 2:35 of the video. You can watch the beginning talking about backing up apps but it is not relevant here.
Not working Its giving fail when there writes 'cache.img'

A little feature on all LG P50* (and most) phones.

Most phones and tablets come with this little neat feature. It's a feature with which you can switch between (and stop) applications without actually going back to your drawer and tapping it again.
1. Press and hold your 'home' button.
2. You'll see all the tasks that are running; you can either remove or switch between them.
Don't mind such a short post, but a few people I met were not aware of this feature, so I thought to post it here on XDA, so this can be an avail to more.
Will you get a medal for yourself or we need to give you one? (really confused )

A little tip: if you want to try disrespecting someone, make sure you know what you're talking about. Otherwise, it would be best to spend your time learning to offend then being on this site. No offense, of course, just a tip. You sure you read the forum rules?

Not to be rude, but this is a phone development forum, which means most of us are pretty savvy with our devices. The multitasking function which you have described is one of the most basic functions of the Android OS, so you can safely assume pretty much everyone on this site knows about it. It's cool that you're trying to be helpful though!
EDIT: And then I saw your poll. I see what you did there.

Trust me, there are more than just many people here at XDA that know about heaps of things, yet don't know of some most basic fuctions. Those people had I described in the post were ROM/Kernel developers, yet they were unaware of this little feature. They had knowledge of things I had only heard of. Many people do not experiment too much with their devices; instead, they just jump to development. That's not a bad thing, of course.
Really???
I don't want to bother you or someone around here, but why is this post still here??? I mean this is a community for developing our beloved lg P-500 and by no offense i am telling you for sure that anyone who is entering this site knows about this little ''trick''... If you really want to help someone, post something new and useful, and not something that all android phones have. Actually, if my memory is good, one of the first things that android tells you, is that ''feature'' you're talking about. No offense bud

Oh, and by the way, don't try to raise your post count by posting things like they are new features of android. When i first read the title of your post i thought someone found a new feature of android that we all didn't know about. There are millions of android users in the world and i bet that at least 99% of them know about this feature. Maybe they discovered it by curiosity, by pressing that button that isn't really invisible or just by mistake... It's nice that you've tried to help, but be realistic next time please, no offense

It would be rather smart of you to read (and of course, try to understand) my previous post. This was meant to be of help those who are not aware of this 'feature'. There are those who don't really mess around with their phones, as I had previously stated. It was not meant to literally 'offend' people, which it seems to have done here. Since you already knew of this feature, you should have just ignored this thread. It was not meant for those who know of it, but for those who did not (yes, really.)
Trying to increase my posts to reach the threshold? Think. If I really wanted to do so, my first 10 posts would probably have been all random Threads. I joined this site on September, 2013, and my 10 threads would have been up months ago if I were really trying to reach it. Now that's common sense. And guess what? This thread was of use to the user 'kunnaliskinng'. Not to mention, there are people who aren't registered on this site, but still get a lot of help from it. This thread, as I said, was meant as help to those who did not know of this little 'feature', and you know, so you'd be better off reading another, bud.

I just found this how-to, which is pretty much what I did to install on my device, although still isn't working.....
EDIT: weird, I just reinstalled the app and everything seems to be working now - I guess installing the app *before* flashing the framework causes it to bug out.
Never used Oxygen before, is there a native dpi setting hidden somewhere ?
Don't want to root yet to get all those OTA without hasle asap.
Thanks ~
Did any one noticed there is no flash turn on or off option in camera after the new oxygen 2.1.2 update. I tried everything in camera settings. But couldnt find it. Flash option is available under video and slow motion category. But no option for flash while clicking photos. It only shows the timer icon.
@zuppysurja
I already answered in your thread. Turn off every image processing option in camera app like HDR, Beauty and so on. If any of them is turned on then flash remains inactive and you can't see the flash icon.
I have some basic doubts :-
1. Does the front of the phone come preapplied with a screen protector or do I need to add one.
2.Is the back scratch prone? Can I use the phone without back cover without getting any scratches?
I live in San Antonio Texas and used the OnePlus 1 here with Resurrection Remix 5.5.8, my ATT lte was weak. WiFi runs over Amped Wireless & was touch and go. I now have the att sim card back in the little iPhone 4S call signal & WiFi which is TWC WiFi btw not att WiFi are strong steady.
My question is the frequency bands 17, 12, etc can they be controlled or added via software dev. on a mobile or must the phone have specific hardware for those frequencies? I ask because of all the hysteria over OnePlusX not having 17 & 12 band frequency access? I can't afford iPhone, Samsung.... my cell phones are hand me downs. The OnePlus 1 had was roughly treated by its previous owner so not fully functional for me. I sold it for $100. and was planning on getting a new OnePlusX?

I can only answer 1st question based on oneplus forum posts the front comes with pre applied protection.
2nd ques. would depend on how careful or not with your phone. ie. I would thow a phone into a purse or pocket with keys..... I tend to be careful with these touch screen phones not like the small flip open to talk older models.

no seriously becoz of 6" and Bad camera i was thinking of switching to X.
whats ur opinion ?
For now? Stick with N6. Camera in OPX isn't that good and softwarewise this phone is full of bugs. It should change over time but you'll probably be able to buy it without invite then.
Hello all,
I hope some of OnePlus X owners could help me with that.
I got my phone 2 days ago and I noticed that in grey areas, like a solid grey background app or the calling screen for example, I can see the grey is not consistent, I mean I can see like meshed lines from top to bottom.
Simply call your network operator, or a person who does not have a contact pic set, as the calling screen is blue at the top and grey at the bottom and see if you can see an inconsistent grey.
Here is a link to a solid grey background if you want to test it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxYoDpga2d7xeGZyakZMSVZ4ZG8
And here is how I see it on my OPX, the pic is taken with Nexus 5 camera: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxYoDpga2d7xLVpIZGxIRlNGT2M
This pic is the same as the last one, but I marked a clearer area where the grey is inconsistent: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxYoDpga2d7xVWt5WHJLaWhlQms
Please test it out and let me know, if no one has this issue then it is a screen defect on mine.
Thank you.

VS985 AZADI ROM no Mobile data on 35b

Hi guys, I installed the 35b and the latest azadi rom following all the instructions and i dont have movile data at all, calls are normal, on screen notifications the message: "SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless", I really like this ROM so i´m very sad, i´m in Colombia in Movistar service, thanks for any help,
You might change the title of the thread to include the carrier you're using since it's possible only people who use this phone on that carrier would know what specifically to do to make the phone work with the carrier, if possible.
Did the phone previously work with this carrier on another ROM you had flashed or on completely stock?

Maybe it's related to that.
I don't fault her to be honest. I see the attitude not just here on XDA but in real life with certain people showing little to no respect at all towards others who have put long hard hours working away from family/friends/etc only to be treated like crap and "ooohhhh why doesn't this have this feature like other thing has you need to have that feature."
I'dont get it...it was the best MM rom for that phone. Of course u are gonna get many folks asking for this feature or to do this and that...there are so few roms and this is the most popular. Its a given when u post your stuff to a site like this.
Its like whining about youtube comments....deal with it, get used to it. Ignore it. Real idiots is ones who throw a tantrum, or give a giant middle finger and fume their way off a site blaming others.... BUt they can choose to delete their stuff if they want to, still a **** move. So she switches to an iphone and no longer wants to dev Android...ok....so update the rom thread to say discontinued, and lock it. Simple. But nooooo....to bad. Least I had the files saved.

I use @xdabbeb 's stock rooted 47A firmware with maximum debloating. Debloat zips [UNSTRIKE]and link to @joshua70448 's nice online custom debloat zip generator[/UNSTRIKE] (was down but it's up right now) in the third post of that thread, or in my signature below. I use Nova Prime launcher along with G3TweaksBox, Flast Style Bar Indicators and Greenify Xposed modules (the last one with aggressive doze), and a few others.
While I do want to give Fulmics a try if they ever resolve the reported US 4G issues on the vs985, the 47A rom seems to be working out great. My only "issue" at the moment is that it seems to suck down battery a LOT more (when active) than it did on KitKat - standby is fine.

Ugh, it's amazing how one or two bad apples spoil it for everyone... Azadi was an awesome ROM.
Does anyone happen to have an archived copy of the last build? (2129 I believe, came out a day or two before the thread was deleted) -- I was waiting for it, got sucked up in real life things, then it was gone.
Okay, I can't keep my mouth shut anymore.
Out of the blue, RoxanaSchram posted in the CM13 a rant that I, for one, didn't even understand what she was referring to. This was only the most recent time she had expressed a desire to leave XDA and to go back to iPhone. My impression of her post is that she was rude and disrespectful. Hate XDA? Can't wait to go back to iPhone? What was keeping her? If she did hate XDA and couldn't wait to leave, why was she posting on XDA about it at all, and why in the CM13 thread?
Even before the other person's response to her first post, I thought something similar. "Well, see you!"
It was RoxanaSchram who chose to leave XDA. She was already on her way out - she said so. Noone pushed her. RoxanaSchram is the only one who's responsible for deleting her ROM thread. If you want to blame someone, blame the person who did it - her! Noone else made her do it. Noone else made her delete (or hide) her G3 files from Android File Host.
But somehow you people manage to blame anyone but the only person who's responsible for these things. Roxana. Sure, a few of us have remarked to her initial offending post in like kind. If anything, I felt that responses to her have been fairly restrained. If she doesn't have respect for XDA or it's users (need I remind you her claim about Android users being idiots?), then she should've just gone somewhere else and not posted off topic in the CM13 thread about it.
I keep waiting for users to stop mentioning the whole thing. Somehow, once a day or so, someone manages to make sure the issue is still alive, and here I am doing the same thing so now I'm guilty of it. I'm just tired of Roxana not being held accountable for her actions and the blame being put on others.
Good day.

I may know someone to contact for your question above....(uhhhh me) However, I'm not sure what the XDA rules are about reposting and/or distributing something like that. I certainly enjoy being here in the forum and want to follow the necessary guidelines. So if a moderator wants to clarify on want is acceptable, I would be glad to share Buzzy.

I take no credit for this ROM, just re-posting links that were already created by Roxana Schram. This ROM was designed by RoxanaSchram....
Without quoting anyone in case there's an issue, I'll just say thanks for the posts, and I apologize for my part in keeping this going. I just assumed (I know, I know) there had been a blowup in the support thread as there had been occasionally before. Sounds like there must be a bit more to it, though, so I'll just be quiet in my uninformed state.
But thanks b00ster!
